If you go to East Scarp's main mod page and click on the "Requirements" box, make sure you have all of those downloaded.
Shop Tile Framework - the version you have is outdated. Download the one in optional files - 1.0.10
sometimes when I add things into my mod folder, it puts itself in other folders and that when they get accidentally deleted or not even extracted

It's very hard to troubleshoot without a log
That's strange - can you take a screenshot of the folder that includes the file path? (For the log, that is).
Trying to read errors off of screenshots is inconsistent at best.
My guess is you might be in the wrong directory for the SMAPI log - it's clearly running and should be logging at the point it's at

i know its definitely not the shane marriage dialogue that's crashing the process, but i can't seem to make heads or tails of the error at the end of the log
I think it's related to your first error - Somehow the game can't get ahold of enough memory to launch properly (Looks like the sound system is having issues?) The latter error is also related to the sound system, so I'd guess they're linked.
I've never seen that particular error before.
I had 8 but 2 were backup mods for the others and 2 were texture packs

Blah, the squirrels that call my head home skimmed over it - the DC Burger Hi Res pack is meant to be used with a mod like Portraiture

what do you need PYTK lite and SAAT for?
As I understand it, it's just an attempt to contact the GOG auth servers - I don't think it actually interferes with anything, but I don't know enough to say for sure

those take up a lot of memory and arent really necessary for most 1.6 mods, so id strongly suggest getting rid of them to help with your first error if theyre not mandatory to your game 
Can you open the start menu and search for dxdiag, then take a screenshot of the window that pops up? I'm curious how much memory you have available

Portraiture will fix the portrait swap for the Hi Res portraits, but you'll need to do a little work to move the portraits over.
Once you're back in, go to the skull cavern, then go down to floor 1 - The elevator SHOULD start showing up for you then

I'd be curious how much RAM you have, but my guess is that you might be pushing up against your computer's limits - Glad it's working though.

okay, so Ive been following the instructions on the guide for modding but Im running into a problem when it comes to finding my game file to put the mods in, I cant find it where the guide says it should be (I'm on windows) so I tried typing find_game_files into the SMAPI pop up window like it suggests but it tells me it cant do that and that access has been denied
Can we know which OS (Windows, Mac, Linux) and game store (Steam, GOG, etc.) did you install SDV from?

There should be a Mods folder inside that if you installed SMAPI correctly

go to this tab in steam settings, first things first. To do that, open steam, and click on the "steam" button in the top left corner

under the storage tab, I want you to see if you can see an option called "onedrive" here or something similar, and see if it's selected as your main drive. if it is, I need you to click add drive and add your C drive as an option
It'll bring up a prompt, like so
(your drive may not be called E or whatever, mine's just called that because it's showing me the other drive on my computer)

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). onedrive does silly things by default and you couldn't have known this would cause silly things to happen
@near terrace Just as a quick heads up - even on my computer which is set up without one drive, attempting to run show_game_files will generate the same error, so that's normal behavior.

for when you want to add mods etc - I want you to right click on your mods folder and then click "pin to quick access"
that way you don't have to go fishing for your game location anymore, it'll be right there for you on the left sidebar when you open windows explorer
and yeah, all mods go in that folder, you need to unzip them in there

if you're willing to tinker with 'cheating', "debug f <itemnamewithnospaces>" in console will give you the item

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
So there's no solution yet?

I didn't update it I'm using 1.5.6.36.
The biggest problem you're going to run into is that the leftovers of the Android scene are basically in stasis - most modders are working in 1.6, and more and more mods are going to depend on 1.6 specific features
So you're limited to mods that still have 1.5.6 versions, and those versions will have upper limits on what they can support

Hey there I have a question. I use a lot of mods and I am in need of new keys 😄 I would like to completely delete some controls in the vanilla key options that I dont use anyways. I dont need all the inventory slot key bindings or chatbox/emote menu. For some of the options there are also two keys used. Would love to get some more keys to use for other things. Any idea of how to do that so the slots are free? Couldnt find a way ingame and a quick google search didnt help :/

Yea I read through that already. With modded controls you can disable them which is great, I basically want to do the same but with vanilla controls. Just disabling some of them, and for some others only using one certain key instead of two. Two keys are for example used for Chat Box, which I dont use anyways in Single Player. But I guess its not possible to change the vanilla controls like that. Thanks for the links 🙂

Okay so. Played stardew valley for a bit with mods on, but wanted to play with a friends while zero mods were active. Game ran fine both times. Trying to play solo, and put the mods back + downloaded the most recent versions of the mods. Starting the game from steam normally didn’t cause any issues, but now all that happens is the terminal opens, lists everything, it says that stardew valley is running, but there isn’t a visible game running. /I’m on mac
I’m not sure what I did wrong so 🫠

Is there a way to reset the ui elements while playing? I played a cutscene, the first one did nothing, the second one is about Shane in the Joja Mart. I am not sure if its vanilla or not, but after that my whole ui elements were gone. Interesting enough, different modded ui elements were still accessible, I also could enter into the Inventory with E. But Toolbar and the infos on the top left corner were not visible anymore. Will have to see if its still like that the next day and I guess its gone when restarting but it would be nice to find out the reason for that. Stardew Druid put out some errors, there were the only ones showing in red on that day. I Use UI Info Suite 2 too. Any ideas if these mods conflict or if there is an easy solution in general to bring back the Interface?

Just to show you how it looks. I can play just normally but the UI on top is just gone. Any other element is working fine, can enter maps (Using NPC Map Locations).
After the next cutscene it suddenly worked again. Weird. I guess there are some problems with the github version of UI Info Suite connected to certain cutscenes.

If you want to just run vanilla Stardew Valley without SMAPI, go to your Stardew folder, then launch Stardew Valley.exe - The copy of the game that comes up will be unmodded vanilla.
guys i tried to use Expanded Preconditions Utility but when i put that in the game it said that this is not the newest version bc it's 1.0.1 but i can't seem to find the newest version

Also keep in mind EPU is obsolete and whatever mod is depending on it may have an updated version that removes it as a dependency. Which mods you are using that still needs EPU?

When using machine progression system, when an item is finished processing sometimes the machine has a different texture? For example, when my beehouse has honey ready, the beehouse turns into a cactus lol. Does this happen to anyone else?

does anyone know what is going on with these shirts??? Im pretty positive the mod is Do Eun's Female Ribbon Shirts, its a JA mod, and it worked just yesterday, but now, as you can see, some of the shirts are all glitched and weird??
most of them seem to just have minor errors to them, I've only seen major errors on those ones in the middle, but I havent checked all the shirts from all angles, so others could have errors from other angles
for another example, the left is what the shirt suddenly looks like, and the right is what it should, or what it has looked like in the past
I might just keep refreshing the game and hope it fixes itself, cause literally it was fine just yesterday, so Im hoping its just a fluke or something

okay I thought maybe it was one mod interfering with another, but now im completely at a loss as to what is wrong with this mod- everytime I close then restart the game, the clothing changes?? like ones that had issues in the front now have a different issue in the back, and ones that seemingly had no issues now do? I might just need to try re-downloading the mod, but I just have no idea what caused this, since its never happened before

While the frill set I got earlier in june, I've had the ribbon set since 2022, and its worked fine all this time

I know JA is basically obsolete, but even though I know it should be easy, I've struggled with converting XNB mods to content patcher before, so I fear I might have similar issues with converting JA, which is why it would be my last resort
Ill try updating my old mods, and then Ill delete and re-install the broken ones, and Ill see if that fixes things
thats all i can really recommend myself short of validating your game files, from your log it seems like the clothes themselves load in fine so updating your mods and reinstalling the broken ones seems like the move
okay! honestly I remember now why updating mods is a pain, and its because all of the ones smapi RECOMMENDS fixing, are already in their latest version. I've downloaded the latest version of them all, but it keeps saying I havent, or for two of them, there's both an AT and a CP version, and I just got one and not the other, which makes things tricky

If SMAPI tells you that a mod can be updated even if you have already downloaded the latest version, it may be an error with the manifest's version number. To check, open the mod's manifest.json and change the version number to match the mod page if they do not already match.

Just in case it's NOT a manifest error, it's worth making sure your old copies of the mod folders are completely removed before adding the new ones in. If you do the whole "overwrite existing files" method it can sometimes not update them properly.

long story short, I updated all my mods and I load the game, I walk around, and the shirt i am currently wearing seems to be fine, so I assume its fixed. then, I open up the item spawner to check if the others look fishy and they still are glitched, just different ones now. I know you talked about converting JA to CP, is there an easy converter you know of @sudden summit ?

yeah the only converter ive ever used was XNB to png, and it was just you add the file then click a button so im not great with the github command converters, but again, ill just trial and error it, and worst case scenario, I cant figure it out and ill just give up (I have other clothing mods, this one is just my favorite)

hi everyone! I hope I do this right ~ I recently wiped my gaming laptop and reset it, so I reinstalled Stardew off steam and a fresh version of SMAPI. However, I cannot get the game to load with SMAPI. The error log also isn't super helpful? I have used the wiki/troubleshot as much as I can but I can't seem to figure out what's wrong.

I know how to fix this, but I'm not on my computer right now. What you need to do is find which mod references "Custom_WTDR_GhostTown." Conduct a "Find & Replace" --> input Custom_WTDR_GhostTown --> replace all instances of that with Tarniyar.CP.WalkToDesert_Ghost_Town.
I am not sure how to do that, but I am going to bed so I will try tomorrow

I think it's a problem with some chest mods stacking. But you'd have to provide a log for us to find out.

All of your chest mods are fighting each other. You need to configure the features you want or uninstall the mods you don’t need.
For example: if you have better chests and chests anywhere, you need to configure them so they’re not fighting for space on your screen.
Ideally if you have better chests, you don’t need chests anywhere.

for hugs and kisses, please check your config to see if any settings related to being related and change to "false". if that doesn't fix the error, then you'll need to file a bug report (include a new log with the error) with the mod author and/or remove the mod. iirc the red text doesn't actually impact the game, but i'm sure the mod author would appreciate knowing.

So I have a question. and I'm asking it cause it's really really really late, and my brain isn't braining the best.
For making an HDP portrait mod into a portraiture mod, do I put them into the portraiture folder (not the portraits folder, I know that much) or do I put them into their own folder but remove the dependency for HDP?
i don't need the "console commands" and "save backup" folders in m mods folder, yeah?
End result is Portraiture/Portraits/<YourFolderName>/<files>.png
Keep them - They're important tools for chasing down errors or restoring old saves - They come with SMAPI for a reason

hey Im having an issue
I tried running the morning dew modpack from curseforge and got the error saying steam isnt linked
I was getting achievements ingame but no through steam but assumed they were achievements I already had, but now Im seeing its because steam isnt linked
the tutorial I found is wanting me to extract files into my steam stardew valley folder, where I would have to manually update them, and I'm guessing, it would be annoying to deal with in my playthrough with a friend as it has different mods
is there any simple way I can just make steam achievement connect with curseforge, cause I launch the pack through curseforge

Please download everything afresh from Nexus then, and pay attention to the required mods - Nexus has a requirements tab on each mod page to show you what you need

helloo if I were modify an old mod pre 1.6 would i need to install an older version of .NET?
If it's a C# mod you need to target the correct .NET in your build
So if you want mod to run on 1.6 then you need net 6, and for 1.5 I believe it's net 5

Is this just on the first day? Or have you already played multiple days? Iirc custom NPC schedules tend to not work on the first day they're added and you need to sleep at least once for them to start moving

As i recall when i was playing vanilla im sure she was hammering at least im 100% sure for second upgrade , (shortcurs) but maybe some of my mods made her usable while doing that i guess

One of your mods adds items of some type which have a name or ID conflict with either the base game, or another mod.
Archipelago tries to list everything at the start for quick lookups, and now fails. An artifact of the 1.5 code which I will modernize someday.
In the meantime. Try removing mods until you find the one in conflict I guess

Note: mods that add content are often inherently incompatible with archipelago, due to their content being locked by archipelago, and then never unlocking as the archipelago server didn't generate unlocks for them
Texture mods and supported mods are fine though

That's a bug with wttdr and sve, sve gets rid of that tree and wttdr's map patch thinks it's still there and only covers half of it. The only way to fix it is to go into wttdr's maps in tiled and delete the tree

I first tried from Nexus via the automatic update, that didn't work, so I went to the modpage itself and downloaded it from there via the mod manager download. Didn't work. Then I downloaded it manually, tried to throw the ZIP file into Stardrop and it finally gave me an error

Went into the logfile for Stardrop and it gave me this

Back playing with modded gameplay and installed few storage mods. Got 2 questions,
- Since ChestEX isn't updated, I just found a mods to change a storage size, it's Better Chests. How do I remove that text on top of the screen?
- If I remember, Chests Anywhere menu isn't clipped to the storage slots, is this a new feature or is there a way to move the menu?
So about this. I relaunched the game, but Smapi is giving me the same error. That is, it's telling me there's nothing in the folders. Could this be a manifest issue?

Looking at it, SVE is apparently installed (Did a control F) - Your giant wall of red text does not help - You really should move them out of your mod folder entirely if they're out of date

It does look like it's loaded, but if there's something in that wall of errors, I can't find it.
I'd highly recommend creating a separate folder, prefix it with a . and move all the invalid mods over to it, then run a new log
Also, if you had gone to the town you probably would have seen the rest of SVE installed

No, before I forcefully installed SVE in the mods folder itself I was also missing SVE. It kept telling me that there was no manifest or that the folders were empty when I tried to load it via stardrop
though I'm relieved the IF2R is a separate issue phew
That may be Stardrop being weird about how the zip file is packed, which is weird because it's usually pretty good

Hey guys! I've been playing with a custom modpack and it's been going great, up into year 3 at this point. In the past couple in-game days, however, all of my quality ingredients (maple syrup for bee houses, eggs for cooking, etc) aren't registering correctly in any crafting menus. Can't cook, can't craft using anything that has a quality star on it, including eggs.

Is there a way to look at the IDs assigned to an item? If somehow there's a conflict in what ID the recipes are looking for VS the items I get from playing, that feels fixable

Lookup anything is really good for something like that! That's why I have it, so that I can shuffle around IDs as needed
(Any mod following the recommended conventions for IDs should have virtually no chance of assigning conflicting IDs)
..Actually I do have a question. Is anyone else having mod issues where it comes to mixed seeds? I can't plant them but for some reason the game keeps trying to make me eat them >x< I thought it was an issue with item extensions but I turned it off and now it won't even give me a "this crop cannot be found" type of error

I can try to recreate it later after I finish eating tho
The one thing is, they're all cornucopia related crops, so maybe there's a bit of a bug there?

Hmm.. I'm honestly stumped, ngl. This is about as far as my experience goes. If you're not missing any dependencies, you didn't take anything out, none of the IDs are conflicting... It almost sounds like what happened the last time I tried to use PFM automate and I still don't know how to fix that one
Ah... alright. I'll try some more testing, and update here, just in case I find something that can help others in the future.

It's a known issue with a specific version of a mod - it might be item extensions? Try searching for mixed in this channel

Usually when I'm trying to plant mixed seeds on my farm! Only then. I even tested with the cornucopia crops in question and could plant them just fine (for the ones that were in season anyway)
so you've still got SAAT, pytk dummy, tmxl toolkit and they need to go since you're playing on version 1.6 of the game

It seems to be doing okay for now, actually. Just some really weird errors popping up (with... the new 1.6 mods, surprisingly, more than the old 1.5 mods that are still there)

I think in this one specific error's case, it's because of a 1.6 mod issue, not a 1.5.

That's the other thing I'm struggling with. It says I'm downloading the 1.7.0 version, but it tells me I have 1.6.4 and from what I've been reading from the author's mod page, for some reason Nexus is listing it as 1.7.0 but is using 1.6.4 file's

it shouldn't be a conflict between those two, it's more that wildflour is using item extensions

Well I'd see if your Stardew needs an update too, but then you need to run SMAPI from stardrop. That way it'll create a mods folder!

hey, odd question, do you know if i can use a content patcher mod and alternative textures? there's a few mods that i like that don't have an AT version, but i'd like to be able to use both so do you know if they'd interfere with one another if i used AT on top of the content patcher mod?
I am having the most peculiar problem with my coop
AT and content patcher should work at the same time, i believe your content patcher packs will also appear in the AT menu for whatever you have packs for

it is a problem with the animal building the Coop
my issue is that the automatic feeder is displaying hay bells off of the screen
I know its got to do with a mod that added capacity
but even when I turn them off it still does that
I also have Jens mega coop and barn
before I had it, the coop was just extra wide
now it is not as wide and is upgraded to its biggest capacity for the mod
The extra hay is probably left over from the other mod. Once it's placed it can't be picked up. If it's really bothering you you can use bombs to get rid of the excess hay

It's not technically a mod bug, it's just an unavoidable fact of how the game handles hay placement. If you bomb away the excess it won't show up again
I was thinking about selling the animals and knicking down the coop. Then rebuilding it and such'

so just use no clip go off screen and bomb it
Bombs need to be placed in a valid location, but the mega bombs should be able to reach into the void

Yeah, but that's a sacrifice you may have to make
You have the item spawner, so you can always just spawn in more hay to replace what you lose
It's unfortunate that we don't know which mod exactly references WTDR. There are text editor programs (like Sublime Text, which is free) that have built-in functionality to conduct a search inside multiple files. So for example, one could target the entire Mods folder and ask the program to find any instances of "Custom_WTDR_Town" and then replace it with the correct text.

I'm so pleased I got that hay thing fixed. its funny how much it annoyed me
- Update these mods (image attached)
- Delete TMXL Map Toolkit, SAAT, PYTK, Custom Furniture, catGifts, Custom NPC Fixes, and Custom Kissing Mod cause they're all deprecated with 1.6
- Do a fresh install of SVE.
- Validate your game files
- Make sure you have the latest version for the json mods cause there may be a content patcher version available
- When updating your mods be sure to delete the old version before placing the new version into your mods folder.

Please reset your game files. This will fix any broken game files, but won't affect your save files or mods.
If you use XNB mods, see using XNB mods for more info about why they're deprecated, and a list of Content Patcher alternatives.

Was it closing or just freezing? If freezing, you probably got into select mode and escape should take you out of it, if it happens again

You've still got out of date mods in there, something's wrong with your Stardew Valley Expanded folder structure (Things moved elsewhere?) - and the game is freaking out that you have no audio-system
I updated all my mods, it still says that for those ones even though I updated those. T.T Audio is playing dispite that error. I did mess around with some files in expanded for gender bending characters, but only the portraits and overworld sprites. I have another mod for handling the dialogue for that purpose.
Stardew Valley Expanded can't find the files for Victor or Morris. Your best bet will be to either redownload Stardew Valley Expanded, or undo changes if you moved files around.
Witchy Gothic Interiors is fighting for control over the maps and generating errors (And doing nothing as a result) - Let's try moving them out of the mod folder for now and trying to fix the rest of it.
For your list of mods, several of them are no longer compatible. There may be newer versions, or they've never been updated to support 1.6. Anything uploaded before March 2024 has a higher chance of not being compatible. If you try to update a mod that never made it to 1.6, the new version will still be out of date.
