you have a drop down menu at the bottom where you can choose which mods to show. if you choose enabled mods, you'll see your profile doesn't have those mods enabled that the screenshot shows
do i really have to doanload every single mod manually with vortex app? this is crazy. i have to open like 300 lioinks and then press download.

it asks me this everytime. i click on the doanload, then it goes to vortex and i have to click slow download for every single one. i havent seen a game where downloading mods was this bad and inefficient as stardew.
download manager essentially does nothing at all
nexus doesn't like automatic downloads unless you pay them
you could become a mod author and rack up enough downloads on your mods to earn free premium membership
from the experience i had untill now this is the last game i would try to make a mod for. probably extremely annoying with this vortex/nexus crap
i'm pretty sure you can get the downloads on mods for other games, so you don't have to be stuck here where you're unhappy. have a nice day

that's a nexus thing, which applies to the entire site for all games that they host mods for. they are unaffiliated with stardew, and there are other places to get stardew mods. (ModDrop, Naver, Stardew Forums, GitHub, Curseforge, likely others)

please don't blame the community for something you don't like about one specific website. Also, keep in mind that hosting and development are not free and actually pretty expensive, and nexus needs some way to make money. In this case, that's ad revenue, and since they're nice enough to not show ads in the launcher itself (like curseforge does) that means you have to pay the convenience fee if you don't want to deal with it.
(or make mods with enough total downloads and get free premium for drawing more traffic to the site)
i didnt blame the comunity? i said making mods is probably very annoying as you have to deal with nexus and vortex. you cant tell me this isnt a very annoying way to download " modpacks" or "collections" using the vortex manager. manually downlkoading them might be as fast as using the manager.

you seem to be blaming the game though
most of us don't really use collections tbh. they're a relatively new feature and people tend to have their own ideas about what they want out of the game
mod lists have been around for a while, but you still have to download those manually because they're just a list of mods
Most of us don't recommend using vortex in the first place.
And sdv usually isn't a game where you need modpacks (I never liked the idea of them anyway as people have loads of different visions for their modded game)
But alas, back to modded support shall we?

i use stardrop. im talking about the website to download them from
though that doesn't support collections
nexus and moddrop are the most popular ones, but a lot of mods are also posted on naver, though naver is a bit hard to find stuff on unless you get verified
curseforge has a good amount of stuff, though a lot of it is real old
the forums also have a mods subforum, but I haven't been over there in a while so I have no idea how much is available
the truth is just that you will probably spend a lot of time manually downloading mods one at a time, no matter where you get them from. that's just how modding is, in most games. minecraft is something of an exception there.
Call me biased due to things but curseforge is... something, and I wouldn't be comfortable recommending that either.

I’m having a weird problem that some items aren’t being consumed by machines, and have no clue what is causing it
Happens with automate and by hand
So far I’ve noticed it happens with gems, fiddlehead ferns, and joja cola
Also happens with machines from different mods
And also with vanilla machines - crystalariums, etc

smapi is Stardew Modding API, so when you want to play with mods you'll click the game you just added. it'll open a console window which shows you the installed mods, you might have to scroll back up again to see them, as the console will keep on printing more text than just the installed mods

it crashed three times before so I took out Baldur's Valley thinking it was the culprit but it crashed again

Abigail's spouse room specifically, going by logs
How many spouses do you have?
It's just cause Abigail was the one I proposed to that day. The other time it happened with Wyll so that why I thought BL was the problem

I'm seeing bug reports on the Custom Spouse Rooms mod page of the game crashing with multiple spouses.
One person solved the issue by removing the Custom Spouse Rooms mod from their game, marrying everyone they wanted, and then putting the mod back in. I think a good start for us would be if you make a copy of your save file, then take Custom Spouse Rooms out and see if the crash still happens.
Hello, I'm having issues playing multiplayer with my girlfriend. My SMAPI log keeps showing "src\steamnetworkingsockets\clientlib\steamnetworkingsockets_p2p_ice.cpp (600) : false" multiple times, and I can't do anything else.

But that is a known issue with custom spouse rooms

No problem, but it sounds to me like what you were suggesting is the same thing I was suggesting (or at least what I suggested was the first part of what you said and I was going to take them through the rest of it)? Though I guess if there is an actual "disable mod" option in the config, that is less work than removing the mod from the mod folder.
If they have stardrop you can "uncheck" or if you do manual modding put a period in the folder name
It'll temp stop it from loading without having to delete the mod and re-download it

i am confused on which walk to the desert - redux mod i am supposed to use....Walk to the Desert Redux - 1.3.3 or

Because the most recent file upload is Walk to the Desert Redux - 1.3.3 and that says, "Only For Stardew Valley 1.6.4!"
But the previous file upload is Walk to the Desert Redux - 1.3.2 and that says, "Only For Stardew Valley 1.6+"
So now im confused on which one to use because my Stardew Valley Version is 1.6.7... Please help

1.6 added new tiles which will take some time for recolor mods to catch up on. recolors will mostly work but there will be some vanilla-looking tiles. please be patient as you wait for mod authors to update their mods

that said, it looks like you have wittily with the light dirt option; even the unofficial fixes for 1.6 in the comments are only made for the dark dirt option

First - Vortex is kind of janky for Stardew, and is recommended against for this reason - Can you open the folder for those two mods and take a screenshot of their contents, including the folder directory at the top? Also, a log would be helpful.

Ok yeah - The Fishking Portraits are meant to be used with Portraiture (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/999) - It's not a standalone mod
You dump the Fishkings's All+SVE Portraits folder inside the Portraits folder in Portraiture
Yep - Download and install Portraiture (linked above), then put the entire "Fishking's All+SVE Portraits" folder inside the Portraits folder inside Portraiture

Edit: Followup - it's something unhappy with Steamworks, but literally can't find any information on that particular message.

Is it popping up a little message indicating which folder it's using? Can you show me inside the Portraits folder inside Portraiture?
Crystalarium, some from Wildflour, mt vapius gem polisher, it’s so weird
The gem polisher requires sap as well
If you don't have sap it won't work

Oh, no, the machine activates, just doesn’t consume the vanilla gems - amethyst, emerald, diamonds, aquamarine, ruby, topaz, jade
Those gems aren’t consumed by the crystalarium, mt vapius gem polisher, Wildflour cosmetic crystal
Wildflour cosmetic crystal also doesn’t consume fiddlehead ferns
Wildflour distilling counter doesn’t consume joja cola
I thought maybe it was machines that required furl, but that doesn’t fit with the crystalrium and distilling counter

@obtuse path Does the error start as soon as you launch the game, or only if you try to do something? I really wish I had a better answer, but prying useful information about steamworks networking errors is ... difficult

The error occurs after some time playing multiplayer. I haven't figured out the reason yet, but I'm playing normally and suddenly there's a slight freeze, and I stop being able to do things, while my girlfriend can continue playing smoothly (the save file is hers).

At first, I thought it was the mod menu causing the issue, as I was using it to fish faster multiple times. However, just now, even without using it, the same error occurred.

Appreciate you taking over on that one, Riot - something's causing the Steamworks networking stack to freak out and I don't know enough of how Steamworks handles internally to go from there

Content Patcher allows modders to be able to add on time change now and it seems like if your PC isnt the best or your heavy modded or lots of multiplayers and your both using an on time change mod, the mod is like calling, calling, calling, calling and overloads it?
SO theres already a big issue there

Ahh! I just figured it out! It’s the Resource Storage Continued mod! I haven’t used it since early game, and apparently kept a bunch of sap, gems, joja cola, and fiddlehead ferns in there, so the machines were taking the items from there instead of the ones in the normal backpack inventory

VMV has a wiki now too you can use to see what works for those machines
I’ve been meaning remove everything from there and get rid of the mod since year 1, and now I’m already on year 4, honestly forgot I had the mod

when you install a mod the page will indicate what dependencies are needed
json assets is deprecated atm, so you generally wont need it
I was testing the mod (CP) (AT) Nostalgic Old Furniture Collection when I remembered that Happy Home Designer helped with the catalog and I also wanted to add the Orangeblossom's Furniture Catalog mod along with its furniture mod, I entered the game as normal and opened the catalog. Orangeblossom's Furniture Catalog and suddenly crashed. That's practically what it was since I downloaded them again thinking it was corrupt but it didn't resolve.
can you try disabling Orangeblossom's Furniture Catalog?

Probably not, it's been deprecated for a while
It was usurped by dga, which was replaced by cp in 1.6, so whatever mods you have that need it are probably not going to work unless they're updated to a new framework
I wouldn't hold your breath on it, platonymous has been inactive for a while and that particular mod had its function eaten by other mods even before 1.6 dropped
CF is turbo dead, but thankfully there is a CF -> CP converter for personal use

FF is mostly for special furniture with extra functionality

I think the problem may be with fashion sense? It said I have no fs packs, so I downloaded the latest version. Then the hand mirror turned into a 🚫, and I can't get a new one at pierre's shop
You're running an older version of SMAPI that didn't update somehow - reinstall SMAPI and it should fix fashion sense (wants a later version of SMAPI)

It's a custom farm type that is a different layout and a bit bigger then vanilla farm types (I believe) - includes some extra custom buildings, features, and other goodies if you have SVE installed

oh i think i know wats wrong sorry i was experimenting here and there, so for some reason i extracted it first via the windows default so its compressed zip and that message on the screenshot appears. now i installed winrar and tried extracting it via there and opening it and it worked 
Sounds like you accidentally tried launching it from the zip after extracting - The fact that Windows treats zip files just like a regular folder has bitten people before.

No guarantees that's what happened, but it's the most likely situation since the zip looks just like a regular folder. Either way, everyone does that at least once.
Drag the Starry Blue folder into your mods folder

If you're on windows, dragging a copy of the folder out of the zip will extract just that folder

It's there bc whoever made the mod is a Mac user. You can always tell when a modder is a Mac user bc of that and the .ds store files in the mod
Yeah - I figured mac user - Why they left it in the zip (Unless macs hide that folder by default?) is beyond me
My only active exposure to macs is when I have to troubleshoot stuff for people -- Not a fun time if you ever need to escape the happy funtime sandbox to get to internal settings

So like I play on stardew mobile and for a while now the game has been having issues with saving. If I leave the game for .2 seconds I lose all progress for that day. And my museum also just keeps reseting too? Like nothing I put in there stays after I save and close the game.
How exactly does it want me to type the directory?

try clicking in the other window, to the right of where it says "Stardew Valley" in the path bar. maybe that will reveal the actual path and you can copy-paste it

the error messages are telling you the problem; some of your mods are old versions not compatible with your game, and some of them are depending on those mods and can't load without them

Check to see if they have a 1.6 version or fork, or look for new mods that do similar things - if you're on PC you might be able to switch Stardew to 1.5 via Steam
If on steam, right click stardew, properties, betas, legacy 1.5.6, though you'll need to find a version of SMAPI that matches
And all the mods i have installed will run on 1.5.6?

Yup, now that you updated s bunch of mods, you have the 1.6 versions - do you have a copy of the mod for before you updated?
Your best bet is going to be making a copy of your mod folder (don't use the last original copy) from the USB and using it on your 1.5.6 install
So you install Stardew 1.5.6 again, install SMAPI for that version of Stardew, then copy (not move) the mods folder from your USB to the PC mods folder

You've got some legacy mods in there that you don't need anymore (Antisocial NPC is baked into 1.6 at this point, I believe, but I'm not certain that pytk is generally unneeded nowadays)

hiii i was just wondering how to fix this issue.... its my first time playing the game, so i was playing around with the portraits (i downloaded baechu the free ones on naver). im curretly in my first winter and realized the portraits went back to the vanilla versions with the winter outfits. Dumb me didnt backup files and deleted all the winter xnb. When i played theyre all 🚫 so i went back and retored the files i deleted, when I open the game its all *** for some words (ie loading... am,pm) and their names are ||||

Stardew will re-download and replace any damaged or missing files

It should only touch the actual Stardew files
Ensure the font settings are set to default or appropriate for your language.
Open Stardew Valley:

Go to the Options Menu:

Click on the Options button (it looks like a game controller icon).
Set Language:
In the Options menu, look for the Language setting.

oh, it is just that the mods you wanted to install not updated or not compatible anymore with the current Stardew Valley version 1.6. You have to search the alternative of those mods. If one of those mod requirement is SMAPI, you can check https://smapi.io/mods to make sure if it's working/broken/or being updated somewhere else outside Nexus site.

Make sure to turn off Fog for SVE in the config and turn down the highest number of fish that can be present in the visible fish mod config.
Hmm I'll try and help but I have to leave soon but from what I can gather something may be going on in the background that hasn't been put into the log (like possibly a mod is "looping" I'm the background)
Profiler (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/12135) helps pinpoint performance issues, prints results to log. (Time thresholds are all configurable.)

Even removing all my furniture mods dosent fix this and I even removed my mods folder and still this happens. All my mods are up to date. I can use them just not see them.

Heyoo, I'm having a bit of a struggle making my scarecrows look cute ):
I want to use Animated Junimo Scarecrows https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3996 but I can't get it to work. I know it worked for a little bit when I installed it the first time, but then it stopped working. I've tried removing the other mods that change the scarecrows, and I've re-installed both the junimo scarecrows and content patcher animations.
Now what is real weird is that they seem to partially work, because the base of them is there, but the default scarecrow is plopped on top of them like in the screenshot.

The mods that are suggested to update has been, it still just shows the message
there's a post about someone making a MEGA thing but I don't know how to use it, and it should only affect the deluxe and rare scarecrows anyway
That looks like a your recolor mod is editing the scarecrows and overlaying it on top. Try uninstalling VPR.
I'm pretty sure I had it installed when it worked the first time but I'll try!
If it works with removing the recolour, is there a way to fix it? Like just remove the scarecrow recolour or something like that
You can put dependency to VPR on the Junimo Scarecrows manifest, so it would always load after VPR.
(Can give step by step direction of you need it.)

The animation not working is a problem for another day I think, they're cute anyway 
For that, try opening the Junimo Scarecrow content.json and just edit the format at the top to "2.1.0".
(In many cases changing format number is the only thing you need to do to make an old Content Patcher mod works.)

In content.json, at the very bottom you'd see "Season:Winter": "true",
Change that to "Season": "winter",
So that and having it changed to 2.1.0?

no i havent, the last time i played was after updating the game version and mods and it was fine, a little laggy but i could still play. i'll try updating the mods again and seeing if that fixes it!
When you say "the text files", what files are you referring to?

Pretty sure you did make a backup? If so, can you revert to that and then try the game again and send your log again? Right now, your log is saying that your save file is broken.

What I am hearing is that 3 months ago, you went into the folder "Uthorpia_370731590" and opened the filed "Uthorpia_370731590" or the file "SaveGameInfo" in a text editor and tried to change some values in it. Now, 3 months later, you open the game, go to load that same save file, and your game crashes. Is that right?
yes but even 3 months ago it was still crashing its been a few months that its been crashing with anything i try
at the time i tried updating my smapi and everything and nothing was really working
i had try to edit some of the values in the text to fix it
It's rarely the save game file itself that needs adjusting if your game is crashing. It's usually mods.

Also, the log that you sent shows the save called "punchwoodgirl_182688612\SaveGameInfo" is the one that is broken. What's that one? It's not the one you posted a screenshot of.

Many of your mods are out of date or broken, so fixing all those problems will help. However, in multiplayer, you have to have exactly the same mod setup as the other players as well, so your other player(s) would also need to update and/or fix their mod problems.

That's still complaining about punchwoodgirl, but it looks like both logs are saying that the save you are actually loading is thorthird.
I've been trying to get my mods updated again/removing some if they dont have a 1.6v update. I can play sdv without any problems until the game suddenly crashes on me

That is weird. I think you should focus on fixing your broken/outdated mod situation until you can get to the point where a new single player save can start with no errors, then we can return to any save file issues.

Your crash appears to be related to Fashion Sense. Have you removed any fashion sense packs?
I'm not sure but I don't think so
Plenty of people are happy with Stardrop and I don't know of any issues with it. I don't use it myself though because I find managing mods manually so easy and don't mind downloading mods individually.

Sorry for all the pings, I am replying because of trying to help multiple people and not wanting anyone to get confused about who my messages are for. Your error might be related to the broken mods that you still have in there, so try getting rid of TMXL, PyTK, and No Fence Decay in case they are causing your issue (apparently TMXL and No Fence Decay in particular cause a lot of errors).
I haven't forgotten you! Try getting rid of PyTK as it is not compatible with 1.6.
You also have an error that you have mod files directly inside your Mods folder - make sure that any mods are inside their own folder inside the Mods folder or SMAPI will ignore them.
It works again after also disabling FS, but just to be certain I'll keep the others disabled. Thx for your help
Glad it worked! The others shouldn't be needed, hopefully, as they do things that either the base game does now or that other, working mods do.

Can you make a copy of your whole saves folder (not just one save, the entire thing), then remove all the saves except the one you want to fix from your original saves folder? I want to see what your log looks like without any other saves in your game.

Hmm - not sure why it wouldn't be working unless it was depending on depreciated features (Since it hasn't been updated since 2020 and posts suggest it might not be fully 1.6 happy) - Someone else might be able to poke about and check.

Yup, that's right. Now go into the "Saves" folder (the original, not the copy) and remove all the folders from it that aren't your MP save you want help with. You can delete them or you can just move them onto your desktop or somewhere if you want to be extra sure you're going to be able to get them back, up to you.

Keep that in there. Now run your game and try to open your save file. If/when it crashes, go grab the log and put it into smapi.io/log and then put the link in here.

Yeah - you'd want to turn it back on after you're done, but I've had to stop it from there before to create new files

Yuki was able to figure out which error messages to look at without having to remove the other save files (unlike me) but nice work figuring it out! Sorry I wasn't able to see that this was the issue before this. I've never seen save file problems before.

Fastest thing would probably be copying your game saves for a backup and reinstalling the game and afterwards all the mods

I had Stardew Valley Expanded, and Ridgeside Village installed on Steam before the 1.6 update. Then removed all the mods and Smapi for the 1.6 update. Started 1.6 from scratch - vanilla. All fine.
Then I decided to try an older save game that had used mods. I got married, but it won't let me have children in that save. He asked once. I thought I selected Yes. but nothing and it has been a year now. There are still a few glitches like some trees in the river near the hat shop. BTW, when I use the Mousy Pounds Checklist, it shows Sophie and Victor that I need for introductions. Is there a way to remove all mods residuals from a game?

You might have to play without mods then. But you should test if it is the VPN first, by checking if you get the Galaxy auth failure: FAILURE_REASON_CONNECTION_FAILURE error when you turn your VPN off.
