Make a folder somewhere and throw half the mods in there leaving only the other half and try to load the game and check if the issue persists, if the animals can go out that means in the other half is the mod that is causing the issue. If not, try the other half. Hopefully we will not need to discuss what happens if neither of the both halfs works

Okay. It might be time for someone to take over for me to solve this part. In the meantime, if you want to be able to still test loading in with your co-op profile in stardrop, please revert to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command% for your launch options and just launch through Stardrop (the pufferchick top right corner) instead of launching through steam. But keep this screenshot handy. I'll be back later. Sorry I couldn't fix it immediately.

Just to be sure: Press Win+R and it will open the Excecute promp, paste the path of Stardrop there (afaik yours is "C:\Users\sweet\Downloads\StardewValley-Mods\Stardrop\Stardrop.exe") and hit enter.
It should open Stardrop.

To do so, you can open a Terminal (anyone would do) and use the cd command to move where you have Stardrop installed. (Like cd "/path/where/stardrop/is")

Once there you should be able to do ./Contents/MacOS/Stardrop and get Stardrop up (this is in order to see if you get any console output regarding where the SMAPI console is getting initialized)

My issue with the disappearing harvested items is back and I'm honestly not sure what to do. I started a new file and everything was fine for awhile, and then on Spring 16-17, the disappearing items started again. Farm's Granpa's Farm.

guys did the new update remove the stardew expanded fish u had caught? cus i was close to perfection on one of my saves and it decided to remove all of only the expanded fish from the collection tab
I think if you were using a 1.5.6 save -> 1.6 save you may need to recatch fish

The issue is that I would harvest or break things with my tools, they'd break, do the little animation of going into my inventory, except they don't and there's no notification that I got those items.
I checked my inventory, my item bags, and there's no change of item numbers or anything.
I think the issue could be related to a poor interaction between Item Bags and Stack Everything Redux.
Please remove one of those mods and try again.

It seems to be fine for my Waterfall Farm, but Grandpa's Farm from SVE is still having issues. So I'll just uninstall Grandpa's Farm for now and keep an eye out.
There isn't a nexus point that connects to grandpa's shed as far as I know. There's one that connects to the farm, but not the shed area

Something else is messing with the characters for the content patcher injection.
Using just YACS and RSV they work fine.

I think i should ask in here: is there a way to completely reset my modding experience, from all files so i can start over from scratch completely, cause last time i tried i think i did it wrong and all the archives messed up
as long as you're okay potentially losing your (modded) save files:
- reset your game files #archived-modded-support message
- empty your Mods folder
- reinstall SMAPI by running the installer again
that should get you back to vanilla and you can rebuild from there
Re: Stardrop not showing the smapi console on launch. I tried launching SMAPI through Stardrop after launching Stardrop via Terminal (<#archived-modded-support message>). Upon launching it did seem like the terminal "turned into" the smapi console (e.g. I was able to input help and return the list of console commands). Log: https://smapi.io/log/577cb9c1c863499698d4cfe90889ef28 Though I obviously can't parse the terminal itself into a log so here are some screenshots (Im forgetting how this channel feels about sending .txt files). Interestingly, on exiting out of Stardew, the console nor the log show its' usual "closing down expired sessions" etc. but rather just ends at the output of the console commands. I hope this provides you some more information.

Looks good! As far as I know, you should be all set to start a new save (emphasis on new) with your bf as long as he also has SMAPI correctly installed.

If you did want to play your current save but remove your mods, the big big worry I'd have for you would be sve. They have a very specific uninstall guide that you'd have to follow every time you wanted to play unmodded on your existing save.
That mustve been why we ended up going this direction
Somebody probably wanted to save you from that
So yeah. Make sure you do not load into your current save on your Co-op profile

Content Patcher can do pretty much everything JA can do in 1.6. JA has an 1.6 update but its probably not going to be updated more.
There’s also one mod that crashes the game every time I try to load, lmao, I’m trying to figure out which one that is and then yeet it lmao

Content patcher and FS both support custom clothes.
(But yeah I wouldn't expect JA clothes to be fixed)

It won't affect your friend's game directly but it might cause problems for you or your friends

All you have to do is type in debug cookingrecipe Summit Iced Tea into the console, enter and that's it
It'll say that there's no output, but when you go into your recipes, it'll be unlocked

I think there was some bad interaction between Mt. Vapius and something else. The day started fine, I went to Mt. Vapius, mined something, and the issue immediately started again. I removed Mt. Vapius and so far the issue hasn't popped up again.

Try updating your smapi download first, yours is out of date. If the bug is coming from polyamorysweet kissing, I noticed that recently they reworked how their files are named and people were encouraged to fully delete and reinstall to prevent files from not replacing properly. So it may be worth fully clearing your install and reinstalling polyamorysweet
(These are just troubleshooting tips that help me sometimes, no guarantee they're at all related to your problem in practice, I am very new to modding)
It looks like you're trying to use Json assets without spacecore, I'd try updating your mods and making sure you have all the required dependencies

Yeah, is just as Yarizen mentioned, probably on Mac Stardrop is forcing SMAPI to use --use-current-shell so you will not get a separated shell for it.
At this point you should address this information on the GitHub issue and pray they change that at some point.

I'm getting a crash during year 2, day 1 when Kent is introducing himself. SAMPI log seems to be pointing pretty clearly at AT. Meddled with some mods, and nothing that touches textures seems to be causing the problem. Am I kinda stuck at removing AT for the day, and setting it back up on year 2, day 2?

@tawny kindle yea so in single player it rentedtoolsimproved works fine but in multiplayer, when p1 buys an upgrade it doesn't ask if you want to borrow a tool but when p2 upgrades the borrow screen comes up, idk what's wrong I've reinstalled the mod several times

This is so weird, I'm deleting old mods and I have this one called better sprinklers that says it's not compatible in smapi but when I search my mod folder it's like as if it was a hidden folder and I dont see it but I reopen the game and it always shows up as incompatible, how do I remove it?
It even show 4 mods with warnings but only shows better sprinklers, idk what to do

Hello everyone, I'm writing this because I don't know how to solve a problem that is happening to my girlfriend while playing Stardew Valley with SMAPI. We have a game with several mods, but since I tried to add more mods to it, it takes her a long time to load SMAPI compared to before. And when it finally opens, when she tries to enter my server, it freezes on the loading screen. We tried uninstalling all the mods and starting a new game, but the same thing happens. We even deleted the startup preferences file and reinstalled the game and SMAPI, but it still freezes. Please help :c

When you say it freezes, do you mean it says SMAPI is not responding? I don't see any issues that I'd recognize in that log offhand, but if it's a multiplayer issue, we may also need YOUR log in case the disconnect/desync information is there instead.
When possible, please provide logs for all players/hosts involved in a multiplayer connection issue.
She tried to start a solo game, and she has the same problem; it freezes on the loading screen when starting a new game, so I don't think it's a multiplayer issue. :c
Okay, well the log you sent was for a multiplayer session, so I was basing my response on that. If it's also happening on a new save file, then she may not have enough memory for the game to run that many mods. Or a poor network connection. But we would need the log from that particular disconnect/freeze most likely.

I'd start by looking at the most recent mods you added, when it starting breaking, and go from there.
she could also try clearing her user data (in %appdata%/StardewValley) but make sure to back up any data/saves you need from there (or just the entire folder) before you try that.
Antivirus can also cause that issue, but if it only happens when specific mods are involved, it's likely a conflict, yes.
Hiya! I've recently installed SMAPI and have the mods up and running. However, I'm following the instructions for multiple mod groups and it's not opening the alternate folder.

If you are extracting the ZIP file directly to the Mods folder, make sure the UI Info Suite 2 folder name is still on the end of the extraction path (it goes away if you browse to the Mods folder to change the path in the unarchive process) or it will deposit the files without a folder within /Mods

You should be seeing an entirely black window. That's the smapi console. It means you've launched with mods
Follow the links in your log and you should be fine. In the red section, copy and paste the links to updated versions. If it says to go to smapi.io/mods for a replacement, then go to that site, type in the name of the mod and see if there is a recommended replacement. If not, just delete it.

Hi. Does anyone know what might edit the text on the daily summary screen? I use VPR-inspired UI, UI info suite 2 and Informant, but none of them seem to do anything with font. I tried switching the VPR UI out for Overgrown Flowery, and it wasn't VPR

You can try duplicating all your portraits and adding _Winter to all the new ones.
Then edit the content.json to target them accordingly.

That's for the SMAPI version. I don't think there's a content.json for you to edit in the XNB version.
Because there's an XNB version thats updated to 1.6 with some new modded NPC portraits (barely any/no winter portraits), but im using the SMAPI one that's a bit older
(Also, might not want to use the XNB version because XNB mods are prone to break things.)

Yar, you just need to be careful that you copy them properly. Remember that for every action there should be an opening bracket { before and a closing bracket }, after.
When I change craftables, and have something like SVE/ridgeside do I need to change the craftable image there too?

this is gonna sound crazy but has anybody had problems w the gojo npc mod? i installed it on my deck and i have smapi and the patcher all in the right areas too. it launches w smapi bc it gives me the white smapi screen first, but the mod is nonexistent in my actual game

Is there any kind of debug command I can use to move or delete this void goat kid? It's stuck on the holly forage.
It seems perhaps not since it's not a uniquely named NPC. I tried the warp command and it just summoned a random void kid to me.

So firstly: you're somehow missing Console Commands and Save Backups. Those are SMAPI components that are put in the Mods folder.

legacy_1.5.6is the last version before Stardew Valley 1.6. This is a (probably temporary) branch for players whose mods don't work in 1.6 yet.compatibilityis the latest game update, but using outdated frameworks. This is more compatible with some older systems, but mods do not work in this branch.
To switch branch:
- On Steam: In your Steam library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas, and then choose the branch under the dropdown.

Just install the item spawner and then when you next launch the game, pressing i in-game will open the item spawner menu. All items will be in it, vanilla and modded.

seasonal fences is also having a strange bug with steam deck cause the stone fence version loads fine but the wood fence is vanilla

So once again mainly thought for people who might have the same problem as me and use the search function. If you play on linux and your SDV also happens to load only without mods (I am playing on Steam), and when you try to start SMAPI through the console you get an error message like this "A fatal error was encountered. The library 'libhostpolicy.so' required to execute the application was not found in '/usr/share/dotnet'.
Failed to run as a self-contained app.".
Try to force use of a specific compatibility tool to proton experimental or something, launch it through Steam. Then run SMAPI again inside a console and the message should not yet have changed. Then, turn the force compat layer thing off, and if necessary try to launch SDV through Steam again. At this point, Steam should want to update SDV somehow, and download around 30-40 Mb iirc in update files. When you now try to run SMAPI in your console, you should get an error like "Could not resolve CoreCLR path For more details, enable tracing by setting COREHOST_VARIABLE environment variable to 1". Here, try uninstalling and reinsallting SMAPI with the script once again and now it should work if you launch SMAPI via your console. I have not yet extensively tested this method, as today I had just restarted my Laptop for another session and got the libhospolicy error again on the same machine the first time (It was also my first tome trying it on a machine where I got it working beforehand after restarting it), so if something changes I'll write another message.

Hi I've looked up online and this is quite a common issue with even vanilla stardew this might help:
"I've found it works best to load the game and join after the host has already entered the game completely. As in don't load up the lobby screen to join the session until after they're in. Anytime I waited in the lobby no amount of refreshing would bring up the game my husband and I were playing on the same LAN.
Another thing is make sure your host is not 'invisble' on steam. If they are, you're correct the server will not show up for players."
I'd validate your steam files and I'd try deleting and redownloading fantasy crops

Hi, if anyone is willing to help me diagnose and resolve some stuttering/lag issues with SDV, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's most likely one or more of my mods causing the lag, but it's hard to know because even though I have Profiler installed, stutters sometimes don't get logged by it.

You have Stardew Valley Expanded. Gunther, Marlon and the Wizard in SVE are basically different entities from the ones in vanilla, so that's why their portraits are not affected.

I added the mods to a playfile that just needed 2 bundles for CC completion.
So I was curious and wanted to check. Started a new savefile.
Have to say that the challenges are a biiit much when I just wanna relax and hang out while streaming.
Anyone know how to tone it down from needed 15 of an item to just needing 5 or 1?

There's nothing to "fix", really. Those three characters in SVE have different set of expressions that are not compatible with Leyalluna's, anyway. The only way to "fix" it is if Leyalluna release an SVE Portrait Mod.

I'm running a bunch of wildflour mods + freshly baked + better crafting. I'm not sure if one of them is causing this problem or if it's somewhere else, but my recipes that say (any) are not registering that I have that item in my inventory. And not just modded recipes, the vanilla ones too. For example, quality fertilizer which needs "fish (any)" reads my inventory as having no fish even when I do. I can't make a fried egg with "egg (any)" despite having multiple kinds and qualities of egg in my inventory. The mods are all up to date and no scary red text shows up in the smapi window so I'm not really sure how to trace down to what's causing it. Any ideas?
Ah yeah, the content.json also has hooks for seasonal portraits and sprites, which is actually pretty exciting.
I thought those were for the new 1.6 seasonal portraits, you can even change the setting in the config
On better crafting make sure the little setting for "use base qualify onlh" is off
Looking at the files and codes, the 1.6 winter versions should already work currently. It's just seem like Leyalluna is preparing for their own 4-seasons clothing mod in the future.

@hasty charm Apologies for the ping, but I am drafting a report for Stardrop for the SMAPI console being hidden on OSX (due to "use same shell as default" thing you explained yesterday) in the hope that it could be changed in future versions. I'm not that code-savvy and I was wondering if you might be able to direct me to more information on this. I'm looking through Stardrop\Utilities\External\SMAPI.cs on github and can't seem to find what you were referring to. Though Im sure I could be looking in the wrong place.
I'd like to add that portraiture seems to only display the vanilla portraits even when i cycle through the portaiture menu and select the desired folder

Okay so it looks like you haven't installed talkohlooeys' seasonal portraits. Have you ever installed it before?
If you have installed it before, delete it. Then install this and place it in your regular mods folder not the portraits folder. https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/11904
Then make sure you have downloaded HD Portraits downloaded as well and then "select HDP when picking a portraits-set in game, to have it show up as intended" (from the Portraiture mod page instructions).

Please first of all remove the SMAPI installer from your mods folder. (if you're wondering what I mean send a screenshot of your mods folder and I'll point it out.) But for that issue, try using CJB cheats https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4 to remove the quest in the "Advanced" menu (I believe).
Do you have any mods that add slots?

ive removed one mod and the slot is gone . though the trinket slot seems to be missing. i dont know if you are supposed to get it later or is it always on your characters gear screen ?
What mod was it out of interest?

You only get it after mastery
but to trade it for 1.6 trinkets is kinda not worth

Okay, so I've got 1.5 legacy in a seprate instance than 1.6, and I've installed smapi with the custum file path to 1.5, but for some reason when i open the .app of the 1.5 game it doesn't open smapi?
if i try to open smapi directly it opens with some kinda error and then closes.
I'm not sure what to do about this :')
