@night bough so i checked the nexus page for that mod and turns out i can simply ignore those errors. they werent there before the last update of the mod and werent really something that impacted performance.
so i checked that link you told me and nothing really changed. i made listentoconsole thingy to false, i also increased the priority for the process (the last part actually did make the game run worse lmao). i ran the game on a new save file (with the very same loaded mods) and it didnt really freeze that much. that is probably some mod issue, but i have no idea how to figure out what is wrong
should i just give up?

i am currently āout of officeā but generally i would not give up. if it seemed to be fine on a new save with the same mods that might point to a save issue. otherwise, im very very confused by the rest of your message. which mod are you talking about in the first part? and which errors did who say to ignore?

It seems that my prismatic tools downgrade into regular tools when I stack them using the 1.6 (1.0.3) version of Omni Tools. Does anyone know which of the two mods is causing the issue?
Pretty sure this happened with the earlier versions of Omni Tools too

Since tools don't stack by default, if Omni Tools doesn't have explicit Prismatic Tools compatibility it'd turn them into regular tools presuambly

Is it possible to modify my save file so it thinks a specific cutscene has already happened? When Shane's cutscene of yelling at the empty Joja Mart triggers I can't skip it but it gets stuck like halfway through.

it's possible, but i don't recommend editing your save file unless you really have no choice.
instead, find the id of the event, then start up your game and run
debug seenevent <id> in your SMAPI console,
where <id> is the id you found. so if it was e.g. the pierre's secret stash event, you would run debug seenevent 16

If you're trying to install a new version of SMAPI, you download the new installer, unzip it, and run it.

The SMAPI installer doesn't go in the Mods folder. It's a program; you run it

The installer? No. You will have to unzip it, open the unzipped folder, and double-click the installer to run it.

You'll want to pick Install SMAPI when it offers you the choice between installing and uninstalling SMAPI. It'll handle cleaning up the old SMAPI files by itself.
After following the installer's instructions, SMAPI will open automatically when you open Stardew Valley.
can adding mods into a farm thats already progressed break the game? will thing still work properly? what happens if i start modded and then accidently boot up the farm in vanilla?
Adding map-changing mods into a farm that's already progressed can result in some messed-up maps, but Reset Terrain Features can fix it. Adding community center bundle replacers mid-save can break things.
However, if you break things or accidentally load a modded save in vanilla, all you need to do is exit without saving and it'll be fine

Yeah, PYTK's pretty dead and should be removed. Also, PYTK CP mods no longer work. From the mod page DCBurger's High Res Portrait Mod (CP) mod page, download the second file "DCBurger's High Res Portraits" and extract it to Portraiture so the result should be Portraiture/Portraits/DCBurger (also move the RSV portraits to there).

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

so here are my main settings based on the ss you posted above
do you want vainlla chest or vanilla big chests? because i believe the vanilla big chests are also 70 slots
those are seperate config options.
vanilla normal chests
So I set it in the main mods config so that the resize chest is set to 35 slots for the resize chest and resize chest menu
however, when i create a chest, its 70 slots.
and technically the 'main' settings should not matter if you change the bigcraftables ones, those only come in to play if you set it to default, waiting on my game to actually load atm.

Multiple mods want to provide the 'Maps/custom_spouse_room_open_right_2' asset: Custom Spouse Rooms, PolyamorySweet Rooms. An asset can't be loaded multiple times, so SMAPI will use the default asset instead. Uninstall one of the mods to fix this. (Message for modders: you should avoid AssetLoadPriority.Exclusive if possible to avoid conflicts.)
As kyrinia said they should be the default unless theyāre being overwritten by big craftablez

yeah you have to drill down pretty far to find the actual chests, since they're a bigcraftable and 'storage' doesnt do anything
I just crafted a chest and went into that chestās settings, switched it to resize 36, capacity 36 and hit save and close twice

i think if you set the main big craftables config it should be that way for all your crafted chests going forward.

I am having an issue where my game is crashing every time i try and load any save and no errors are showing up just a loud "dundun dundun" noise when i load them. Even one I started today when i haven't made any changes to my mods.

Is there a mod that auto updates your mods?
No. If I recall correctly, the only way to auto-update is by buying a Nexus Premium subscription and using their mod manager, which we don't recommend for SDV.
(It also works with nexus premium and stardrop)

Files with the extension .zip, .rar, or .7z are archive files, which you can extract to get the actual files inside. For a .zip file, just right-click (or long-press on Android) it and choose the option like extract or uncompress. For .rar and .7z, you need to install third-party software first, like 7-zip https://7-zip.org/ on Windows (get the x64 version), Keka https://keka.io/ on macOS, PeaZip https://peazip.github.io/ on Linux, or ZArchiver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver on Android.

Does anyone have the same issue with UI Info Suite 2? Apparently I just found out it didn't give me information about Maru's birthday, while the mods gave the other characters info.
Are you at 8 hearts with Maru? I think by default it only shows the birthdays of people you need friendship with.
Yes, I do have high hearts with Maru since I got that one electrocuted cutscene back then. Then it won't be the problem, right?

Okay maybe try validating your game files, redownloading smapi and updating the three mods in your log and see if that changes anything

tried all of that and the 3 mods that need updating are just typos from mod creator that makes smapi say it needs to be updated

there's multiple reports on the universal recolours page on this
its like an in game noise, happens once i load the save an wake up in bed and then the game freezes for about 5 seconds before it closes both the game and smapi and computer doesnt come up with anything saying theres been an error

ive seemed to just notice now that if i run a different game on steam, close it, THEN run stardew and loadup the save i dont crash and can play the save. Ideally id like to just straight run stardew.

Sorry I had to leave for a sec. I'll be honest I've never seen a bug like this before and I couldn't find anything online. But just check if you can play vanilla or if it still crashes too, because it may then have to do with vanilla?
No you're fine. I can start up the save in vanilla just fine (tried it earlier today and it worked). Im starting to think it might be more of a steam issue than a stardew one as i noticed that the saves crash if i open steam and directly start it but i can load into them without crashing if i start up steam, load a completly different game, close that game then start up stardew.
Hmm maybe try playing via *steam offline mode and see if that stops it from crashing? From the looks of it you may be right

So I've never tried uninstalling stardew with mods lol but I think it would delete all your mods so I'd probably make a backup of your mods folder before re-installing
And I remember I tried just copying and pasting my entire mod folder in one sitting and that was stupid because sometimes the folders then didn't even copy anything that was inside of it and the .pngs would be missing
Hm.. I might give it a wizz tomorrow morning (11:45pm for me rn). There might be something missing in a steam file that just hasnt been picked up. ill back up everything just to be safe.

That unofficial update was for SDV 1.4 and doesn't work anymore. Rented Tools Improved still seems to work in 1.6, though it doesn't work the same way: rentals are free and also have the same quality as your pre-upgrade tool.

Hey guys I have been trying to download a collection of mods from nexus but I keep having to press skip because every mod seems to be a dependency. Is there any way around this?
hello. as per @night bough's advice, im gonna start with a longer explanation. this might be long. i play on steamdeck, launch stardew through steam
ever since i updated some mods like a month ago or so, ive been experiencing frequent frame drops. the game usually runs around 50-60 frames and drops to 30-40 frames. usually when that happens the game also freezes for a sec. this happens as i leave/enter buildings, run around the map or inside any building, when im planting or harvesting crops/forage, same with cutting trees or mining stones. if theres no player movement, the game keeps that 60 frames.
so what i did:
- as per @scarlet quail's advice, i got rid of Save Anywhere - when i was using midday saves the game run around 25-35 frames and the drops would be around 5-15 frames. this did make the game run smoother, but the drops still happen
- as per @hasty flume's advice, i updated all the mods i had, i also checked if the ones that have no update key need to be updated and updated them too
- as per wiki guide for game stuttering, i did set the priority for stardewvalley.exe to higher than it was before
- as per wiki again, i did set ListenForConsoleInput to false
- as per some random reddit advice, i also set seasonal edits in SVE to false
- i dont have any antivirus, so i skipped setting an exception, the drivers are also up to date

im at a loss. thought it could be some save issue, but when i started the new one the drops/freezes still happened. just tried launching the game without any mods loaded and the freezes still happen, so i guess its no longer just a mod issue? is there like some kind of hack that would fix the problem? or is it an issue with an update (not the 1.6 one, the ones after)? i kind of hoped it would be a mod issue and it would all work when i remove it, but not anymore i guess. im gonna leave it here, but since this could be just the game issue, should i also post in the vanilla game support channel?

if you remove SVE, run the game and save the game, then add it again, you probably will. if you do that without launching the game - all should be fine. thats how mods are updated after all

I have a better jukebox mod that works fine without SVE and allows me to play ambient tracks on my farm but when I add SVE I can't see/select the tracks anymore
But for some reason it keeps playing the ambient tracks I selected before adding SVE lol so I was hoping to remove it, choose my tracks and then add it back again

No, better jukebox is just configurable to allow you to play ambient tracks (like spring day ambient, ocean, etc) that are usually hidden by the in game jukebox

Okay. So this is likely a bug with Better Jukebox. Specifically, if a track isn't in Data/JukeboxTracks, it won't show up on the Jukebox.
It was a very late alpha change. This broke tracks with former keys, but the alpha used the former logic to work with the Jukebox

the things in your jars may be baked into your save file. on the save having the problem, if you start a new preserve and toss some fairy dust to get it right away, does it look right?
i started a new preserve with kale and the fish just changed color (the one above is parsnip). but i just tried the cjb cheat method of fast processing, i could try fairy dust to see if it helps? i'm kinda desparate
i don't think fairy dust will have a different outcome, that was just my suggestion to process it quickly

No worries; sorry I wasn't around! Likely no, the audio monobug variant would be solved if the audio is muted... More importantly, I think it only affects Windows machines, so Steam Deck players should be fine.
There are some Deck exclusive issues we've been seeing, but I think this is the first I've heard of the game lagging specifically on input. It might be fixed in 1.6.9, with something we're testing, but I'm not sure

Hi! Quick question, I'm using a recolor mod and an interior recolor mod, and I'm having an issue where my regular recolor is loading second and covering some of my interior recolor, any idea how to get it the other way?
I see I can add a z in front of mod images to make them go later, so can I change one to a Y and one to a Z to make sure which order they load in?

What is in your mod list? Would you be playing on a fresh save? There are mods with very specific uninstall instructions and some that shouldn't ever been uninstalled mid save.
This heavily depends of the specific mods you're trying to remove. Some will definitively break the game while others are fine to have only on one side. Sadly without a specific list of the mods and what they change in the game it is hard to tell. Also some mods have specific uninstall instructions.

How do I figure out which ones to use ? I downloaded the aesthetic valley witch core collection from nexus and a ton of stuff doesnāt work
Is more or less that since I got Stardrop I have to backup my configs otherwise they go bye bye when I update a mod. I haven't played the game in a while and I have to update 37 mods. Leaving aside the manual labour of downloading them, having to filter the config files sounds nightmarish.

Give us a SMAPI log so we can check which mods you have, but basically any expansion mod (SVE, RSV, ES) will make this a whole ordeal. And a mod that changes the farm layout? Is so over.

Also, to clarify, my game works fine just fine. But it has that issue that I would have to go and reconfigure all the settings that I don't have by default (and remembering what I changed and what is default out of +100 mods)

turns out SVE, ridgeside and east scarp was just a wee bit too much for my steam deck to handle, it's all solved now

I am reading your log and... From where you got this mods? And how did you installed them? Don't get me wrong, if you got it fixed, is fixed, but my PC is weaker than a Steam Deck and I play with more than that with no issues. And the log throws some interesting stuff.
Some of them are unofficial 1.6 fixes for mods that haven't been updated/have been broken by updates to 1.6. most stuff is just from nexus.
It might not be that the three area mods was too much, but that there's some weird interaction that doesn't flag as an error but still causes CTD
At least for one side the update-check errors come from the big mods but other than that the log looks relatively fine.
Maybe I am missing something. Remind me what CTD means again. š
Hi there. So. I think you have a few options, some I'm more confident in than others. Is your boyfriend completely opposed to downloading SMAPI? With just SMAPI (and Console Commands and Save Backups which come with it), he would have essentially a vanilla experience. But if his opposition is to modding of any kind then I'll adjust my recommendations.
Crash to desktop, i.e. game completely shuts down
Well, I just updated a couple mods that I know by a fact have custom settings, backed up the settings (copy and pasted them in another folder) and when I update there's a note that says that my configs will get saved, I press "Yes to all" and the configs are not there.
Just felt weird that the game would crash before loading in and not generate an error file, it was just the "latest" log

so apparently, when you use sdv expanded and looking for love mods together, the portraits on looking for love overlap the expanded's portraits for sandy. does anyone know a fix for this? like would it corrupt my save if i deleted the portraits on looking for love or something?

I am gonna be leaving soon but here are the next steps:
- Where it says "Default" at the top, there should be a little writing icon to the right where you can make a new "Profile" which you can name Vanilla or Co-op.
- In that new profile, make sure every mod is unchecked
- Launch and grab a fresh log.
- Have your bf launch with SMAPI installed and grab a log from him.
- Send both of your new logs in here also with the log you sent earlier of your normal full modlist. Ask for someone to confirm that you are safe to play co-op with someone who only has SMAPI installed. They will probably say yes but I don't want to guarantee.

You should just need to extract and put in mods folder tbc. You should not need to edit anything that is what Content Patcher should be doing.
You need to provide the path to StardewModdingAPI.exe which in your case should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\

But the tldr is that stardrop will let you launch into stardew with none of your mods without having to uninstall anything (assuming I didn't miss any problematic mods in your mod list). And just switch between default and coop whenever you want to play multiplayer with your bf

Actaully I'm taking this one. Didn't knew you could set it up to launch from Steam. I actually use a lot the Steam Overlay a lot for notes, guides and check stuff from mods. Because it saves different layouts per game, is really handy!

"Depends of the mods" is the usual answer. If the mods are host server side, then fine, but most of them aren't.

Gabo is right in a way but to truly figure out which ones are fine or not takes a lot a lot of testing that we typically don't recommend in here. If you're matching and want to experiment, its your choice. But I'll always recommend matching first.

Yes. The actual code is to launch SMAPI right away, and you want the code that would open Stardew instead.
REALLY IMPORTANT: You have to replace "FULL_PATH_TO_Stardrop.exe" with the actual path to the Stardew.exe
Pretty sure you can just check the properties of the Stardrop shorcut that you have in your desktop or start menu and you have the path right there.
The " " around the path should stay though, for safety.

I posted about a month ago about this issue, but it's still happening on a new save. My barn animals (not coop animals) seem to be getting stuck in the doorway of the barn and are unable to come out and eat grass. I tried turning off what I thought were the most likely problems (AutoAnimalDoors, BetterRanching) and the issue persisted. It happens on other saves/maps as well, and does not happen in Vanilla. I have moved the barn and there's definitely nothing blocking it. Here's a recent log, nothing jumped out to me. Any ideas? I validated my game files already as well.

Just to clarify, the barn animals go out but they can't go past the door of the barn. Is that the issue?
Yes, they get "out" into the doorway but cannot go on to eat grass or explore. Nobody eats grass, pigs canāt search for truffles.
Can you right click the shortcut and get to its "properties"? Then there should be an option for "Open file location"
Once you do, copy that file's path (Shift and right-click Stardrop.exe, then select "Copy as Path")
