oh! should i re-update socializing skill to the official update? someone told me to do change it to the unofficial update last night in case that was the problem but since it didnt change anything should i change it back?
the unofficial update should be avoiding a crash on save

alright before i do that update: i updated everything (except the socializing for now) and went back to the save to check and it crashed immediately after loading in so that changed (it used to let me walk around the house a bit before crashing or freezing). i started a new file and so far no crashes at all. its running smoothly, i could even leave the house. im gonna update the socializing mod and try a new save again just to check if the socializing mod Did update so ill be right back
maybe I dreamt that and what actually happened is that I deleted the file which is why my save works ... I'm so sorry for the confusion 😅

the crash on sleep bug was resolved in the latest update, I do have the mod in game and it is running just fine on the latest version
I thought it's hard to fix so didn't say anything XD, everything that was listed as a fix works for me though. I was just wondering: the healing over time- is the speed connected with hp that the food gives or is it preset. I remember LoC before took some time for the HP to go up, now it's almost as fast as vanilla instant heal. And I think it also had some HP in store if you didn't use it up. I didn't see it now- that was useful methinks
ok! so this time i updated the socializing mod and went into the new save, still no crashes even when i slept (i Did get a weird mail that ill need to report to whatever mod it came from later to see if i was supposed to get it on a brand new save but thats another thing). i went on the other save and it still crashes though it did let me walk 2 steps this time but yeah pokky is right its not that mod ^^
i have an inkling feeling that it has to do with the cutscene i skipped on that save, its the only explanation i could think of as to why its suddenly doing this but even That doesnt make sense
should i try updating smapi? i didnt know there was a 4.0.8 update till earlier

The entire family goes missing because of the way the portraits load in MP. Without a base, the condition doesn't patch fast enough for farmhands. It was also happening to Fievel and Mateo (Mateo was fixed ages ago, thankfully.)

ohh even the cosmetic texture ones?
In 1.6 a lot of cosmetic texture mods were given a visual tag that makes it affect all parties. Elle's Cuter Coop and Barn animals are two of those mods. When this happen, the game doesn't know what to do because a texture is missing and will crash or lag.
!modmismatch I can't confirm which mods have a visual tag or not, so the safest option is to always match mods.
If you are experiencing problems in a multiplayer game, run all players' logs through the parser at https://smapi.io/log and compare mod lists. While there are a few exceptions, mod lists should match.
@zinc dock If it makes you feel better, I've confirmed AT textures don't have to match in game, you just have to all download the same AT mods.

There's.... no "effects". Steam cloud will just automatically re-add missing files if they're not yeeted while the game is open
so if I delete my vanilla file, then boot Stardew, Steam'll bring back my vanilla file
But if I delete it from the folder while the game is open, then reboot Stardew, bye bye vanilla file

It's likely you're using a pre-1.6 farmhouse map mod

when you quit, the copy will not remove itself
in fact, when you quit the copy will upload itself to the cloud

Does anyone know why UI Info suite (version 2.2.10) would do this? playing with archipelago, and to-dew, on the legacy version of sdv. Had another save going for hours and this never happened; started a new save today and every time i close to title and then open the save again, it duplicates.

Either you're playing co-op SVE in a language that isn't English, or you're mismatching a bundle mod, or you're mismatching SVE.
If it's local co-op, play in English or delete SVE

Is Stardrop fairly accurate? Example: I had downloaded the update for binning and applied it like all the other mods I updated but Stardrop said it was still out of date

Yep, one's the content patcher component, the other is C#
Also sometimes the manifest is wrong, but Smapi reads it the way Stardrip does.
The UI info suite 2 is a bit concerning, but it might be fixed if you update Smapi. If it isn't, it might be an issue with that particular version of the mod
As for the Wild Greenhouse, it looks like it a formatting issue caused by 1.6 tile changes

Hey, what could be the issue when game works fine without smapi, but when trying to launch it through smapi it instantly crashes? Can't provide crash-log because it says nothing.

hii so i figured out what was causing my saves (yes plural, it started affecting my other save as well so i couldnt get into either one) to crash. It was the cornucopias update. im not sure why but after trying everything (including advice given to other people) i tried taking out the mods i updated that night, specifically the cornucopias. it fixed my games and now i can play again :D when i re-added the mods again it continues to work fine so i have no idea Why it started acting up that night. thought id mention it here in case someone else has the same trouble
Does this only happen with Archipelago? I've seen it happen to a lot of streamers but I just assumed this was purely a UIIS2 thing.

This seems to suggest that something UIIS2 expects with Queen of Sauce is not as expected with Archipelago.
You said you had another save going for a long time, when was that? Was this on the previous version of Archipelago? The Queen of Sauce changes are recent from 5.x.x, so I'm wondering if maybe the incompatibility lies there 
me and my friend are playing coop modded, and everytime he hits a cutscene he cant move anymore and his camera is just stuck. Not sure why, any help?

Are you married in game? Can you backup your save, delete polysweet rooms and replace it with custom spouse rooms continued for me if you are married in game?

Whenever you move your game you have to rerun the Smapi installer
It should have been on D but i did reinstall earlier. I only ran the installer when i downloaded these updates earlier. i used opt 1 on the isntaller

Here it is, for some reason the buttons work, but everytime I try to select something new. It cancels out.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
So unfortunately tldr support for mobile is extremely limited

for seasonal outfits its saying it needs sveall but idk
The only thing I see that you might think is wrong with SVE specifically is your bundle mod not having the mods required to use it installed and a very, very old version of SVE seasonal outfits
Seasonal Outfits - SVE 1.7.2 because it requires mods which aren't installed (FlashShifter.StardewValleyExpandedALL).

If it's hidden, wildflour's likely just working on it. Hiding doesn't mean buggy all the time

Generic Mod Config Menu, you downloaded it. It's the gear symbol in the corner of the screen when you launch the game and can be opened mid game for most mods
It allows you to check the configuration settings for mods you have enabled
Open it up, check Looking for Love Redux's settings and Seasonal SVE to make sure Willy is enabled as a romance option and the Seasonal SVE isn't editing his portrait.

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

hi all, I updated to the latest version of SMAPI (4.0.8) and I've finally got round to trying to add it onto Steam to enable achievements as haven't done this in like over a year
I followed the instructions online on the wiki, but Steam is just trying to open Stardew and not SMAPI, so it just comes up with an error message that it can't open Stardew
is there some additional unknown step I am missing?

Okay it's definitely a compatibility issue with Heterochromia and Peach Body
This is the second time I've seen this happen with both mods installed

i only downloaded it for the FS pack, but apparently it came bundled with a CP pack, and what i'm guessing is going on in the screenshot is peach body is being patched /over/ the heterochromia base
Yep. Both are basically body mods, peach body changes the body shape and Heterochromia basically is just the normally body but with new eyes or something to that effect, so it gets weird.
that's very odd, i figured it would just be a fashion sense mod- you only need to recolour a few pixels of the farmer's base, but ah well

Heterochromia will also make you sit on people if you talk to them while approaching from the "top" of the screen

@true dock also the UI seems to be skewed a bit if you have it zoomed out, i don't know if that's something that needs to be fixed but i'm on 85% ui scale and this is what it looks like for me. the darker pages are also a bit harder to read 🥲

Try zooming the whole game out by 1 tic. For some reason having the ui zoomed out but the game at 100% causes issues, but zooming the game out by any amount makes it work
i'm zoomed out on both sliders by 85, so i don't think that's the issue :')

Yeah, you can copy the launch option string it gives you (it's on its own separate line) and use that to make the Stardew Valley button in Steam launch SMAPI directly

but really can someone help me with why in the world ALL of my pfm packs fail? forage of ferngill, grapes of ferngill, more berries and forage, crystal carats etc?! i havent been able to play for several days now... i dont know which mods i added borked it or if its an update to pfm that borked it. either way...

It's Forage of Ferngill, CandySheep, ChickenMath (where'd you get that conversion from, want mine instead?), CrystalCarats, a rabbits mod, and something named MBF. Mostly Forage of Ferngill; it seems all of those are erroring, while ChickenMath only has two errors
Alright Toastie, you need to uninstall Winter Grass (Stardew does that by default now I think?), reinstall Content Patcher (you have a really old version which doesn't work with modern Stardew and this is breaking a lot of other mods), uninstall Custom Furniture (CP can do furniture now), and apparently install Calcifer?

You also need to update the campfire cooking mod, delete Farmer Helper and install Farmer Helper (Updated) instead, and update UI Info Suite (get it from here: https://github.com/Annosz/UIInfoSuite2/releases)

Alternative textures is not in CP now but you already have CP and SMAPI, and if you're installing the CP version of whatever mod that is you won't need Alternative Textures anyway!

Though unfortunately a lot of the furniture mods you have are varying levels of outdated. Some were most recently updated in 2018. They're unlikely to work well in modern Stardew - you may want to go looking for other furniture mods

@naive drum i was just going around and reinstalling and looking at the log and then the smapi mods check thing and if it says "broken not updated" should i just get rid of all things including it, it makes sense too ive just never done anything SDV related and I dont wanna break anything lol
this is what the mod author of the grapes of ferngill says about this "Its interesting as its like your PFM modules for all the mods are not finding the items. Have you checked that you can get the grapes (or any of the forage from Forage of Ferngill)? If those items are available then its some combination of mods you have that is interfering with PFM. " which isnt exactly fun because i can still get the products its JUST pfm issues and a single mfm issue

i increased the overall speed and speed scaling from skill levels a little, if you're playing on a late game character you might notice it's almost instant. it's a design choice, but whether it's the right one remains to be seen

It's hard to troubleshoot and often causes issues like SMAPI/mods not being installed or updated correctly, files mysteriously disappearing, crashes, etc. Volunteers here often can't help with Vortex issues.
Some options:
- Install mods directly (which is easy and safe in Stardew Valley!).
- Or use Stardrop, a mod manager specifically designed for Stardew Valley.
- Or get help with Vortex in the Nexus Discord or Vortex support forums.

Not a problem, NPC adventure's isn't updated, quest framework is (somewhat) obsolete
Delete it just so those mods aren't clogging it
Custom Gift Dialogue is obsolete; all mods moving forwards can just write gift dialogue with content patcher
(Not being dismissive, just on my phone so .json errors are hard to read. Also, wrong chat)

Also update JSON Assets and Expanded Preconditions Utility (I think there's a new version? Not sure), and remove DGA because DGA is obsolete

Others of your mods had an up-to-date version and an out-of-date version, presumably because you had a Mods folder in your Mods folder and were only updating one copy of the mods
hey wing since i still cant find the mod after awhile of searching im sadly prob gonna give up on stardew for awhile. i cant find which one is adding the invalid item and disabling the affected content packs isnt nessesarily gonna fix the issue right now and overall im just too stressed out from it. ive seen people report similar issues on both mfm and pfm on the comments section of the mod so all i can really do is track those mods and wait. which is sad but its making me stressed enough that i just dont want to play now. i hope someone with more will than me can figure it out. :( but when it does ill come back eventually.
