I think it's because it was essentially the same recipes loaded from two separate mods from the same modder, essentially taking up the same recipe lines (dont know the appropriate term for it but you understand what I mean), so no don't worry about it
I'm just glad I got it fixed and I can use the kitchen again
the previous mod I had installed is obsolete and was removed from nexus so it shouldn't cause other people the same issues unless they didn't remove it yet
I'm really grateful the people in here helped me troubleshoot this lol it would have probably taken me ages otherwise

I do have the build anything anywhere mod but im not using it... weird. figures though, ill remove placing temporarily and see if i can place a bush correctly and hope that fixes it!

I think I hit a bug. I tried buying the dehydrator, but the description was for a torch. I went to buy a smoker, and it did the same thing. The dehydrator doesn't show up in the crafting list. What do I do?

Uhh. I don't know why the sounds aren't loading for Passerby Cemetary or Pops, or Marketpalooza. Pearl Fish doesn't exist because the tile sheet isn't drawing properly. And the Axolotls are trying to patch images that don't exist or can't exist

Your game is just not reading .jsons period now. So again, are you using a mod manager? They're getting flung out of the folder.

does anyone know how in the flip I can change my beams AND staircases to literally anything other than the vanilla orange wood trim on the farmhouse? Industrial kitchen mod changes the beams but not the staircases and I have earthy recolor and saw that it has interior options but idk if it does what I want and idk how to get to the options

More accurately, it's an XNB mod, which isn't recommended nowadays because using those entails replacing game files, and may risk breaking the game entirely

That's unfortunately not in my power to fix. It seems files might not be where they should be and is more a hardware issue than a modding issue.

The folder isn't empty; it's just meant for portraiture, probably.
Everything seems to be where its supposed to be man
It doesn't have a manifest.json or content.json.
So Smapi knows it's not xnbs since it isn't a loose png.

But I can tell you it's the same reason why Chests Anywhere lags.
It's probably because of instancing those items on you at all times.

I wanna see trace and possibly Harmony_summary but I guarantee the issue is instancing and resource management.

That's a deadly combination. Not to mention there's a glitch with Item Bag where nothing gets reduced to zero quantity in the bag itself when crafting; meaning effectively nothing is lost and infinite instancing and drawing can occur.

First we need to know why you had to manually install it-could it not find the filepath?
When I tried to install origionally it gives this error :Oops SMAPI is missing one of its files. Your antivirus might have deleted it.

To put what I'm trying to say into words, I'm trying to install smapi via windows, and since windows couldn't find the game automatically, I need to put the file path to the game directory(stardews) into my thing, and I just can't like highlight it to copy it over so idk where to find it other than the actual app's properties and shortcut section and stuff

if so, the path should be something you can click through to find by starting in the right place. first, can you find the folder on your pc where the XBOX/Microsoft app is?

it should be under C: and then your user id, for example: C:\Users\ YOUR USERNAME
to start
it shouldn't be anywhere else unless you have more than one disk drive, like me so start there. with Steam, the next path to click is usually "Documents", then "My Games" or "Steam", but in your case it should be something like the XBOX/Microsoft games

i'm back again and i've figured out what's wrong with this freezing issue i have. i was wondering about this when i saw the quest still in my journal, but it's to do with adventure guild expanded, which i've deleted due to bugs still galore. basically, there are still some leftover parts of this mod in my save file, i think, that are causing issues? i loaded up another farm without any AGE on it whatsoever and was able to both interact with the ticket machine and mineshafts. so my question now is.... how do i go about getting rid of all that leftover code in my save file? i'm not a coder by ANY means, so this is a bit daunting for me and i'm really afraid of messing up my save completely :x i'm just gonna restart ig ;; rip my nearly done community center...

Deluxe Grabber Redux is working very hard across multiple maps, so it might need additional loading time?
ive let it sit up to 30 minutes before but it wont fix itself. its been like this for a few days but about a week ago i was able to launch it , with the portraits having that same log, and it loaded just fine. ill try messing with the farmer portraits though

My grape trellis turned from a trellis to just grapes but when I try to harvest them they disappear as if crows got them. And now my grape trellis seeds just place tea saplings for some reason.
Also there's a ton of warnings in my log which I'm not sure why :(

For anyone else having these rapidfire smapi red text walls, it seems to be an incompatibility between Better Chests and Ship Anything.

Ok I have automate and better chests and can not figure out how to use the new dehydrator, I can not even fill it manually. Any clue?
I have not experienced this issue - are you trying to put single things in it? (it requires a 5 stack)

But certainly for the dehydrator I've used it with automate+better chests+chests anywhere and had no issues at all. Double check with U that you are linking correctly, but even so you should be able to make it work manually.

I've found it works for most fruit. Make sure you're using something "base game" maybe. Grapes are 100% viable

I love to use it for other games, and I downloaded the stuff from Pathoschild for it, but it always puts the mods into a wrong folder. And I feel like I'm too dumb to figure out, how to put this right.

I don't use any mod managers, but I've seen people recommend against using Vortex plenty of times in the #modded-stardew channel.

Depends on what you think is 'too much'. I've definitely heard you're not going to be able to visit everything all at once but if you're looking at a game file that you're willing to stick to for a loooong time, why not?
99% of the issues people claim are due to vortex on this server is just user error so don't be scared off by it. (Or misunderstanding how vortex actually manages your mods and they see a red line in the smapi log. Its definitely not perfect at cleaning up after itself, but I have yet to have it fail to render a mod unable to be loaded)
Well, alright. Stardrop is actually easier, since it detects everything automatically, unlike nexus. Thanks mate. Gonna update everything quickly and then look at it again. 🙂

its one im using !! 😁 Im currently using the farmer portrait mods and also the Farmer 2.0 ESWF one, and there are sometimes where the portraits i put in for my farmer just doesnt show up at all
(for context) im a mac use so when i check terminal it just shows

Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

Sometimes, the mod page has a link to the code on Git, I find that easier to read at times than trying to open a .dll
You need to run the game once having installed the mod. Then the config will appear. When it does it will look like this;
You can then change the costs by editing the details accordingly
Btw this is the case for ALL mods (that you must run the game once with them installed to generate a config file).

Are you using portraiture for the HD Portraits? Because the issue you're currently facing is when the game doesn't convert the portraits to HD so it only uses a fraction of the HD portrait still at the 64x64 size
I have portraiture turned on currently, would turning it off possibly help?

can you describe what's wrong with DC burger's?
Usually have no issue with it before the update, but since I've just been having the issue above where the portrait either doesn't show or the scale is off
Its inconsequential as long as you use it right. It can be difficult to use properly so make sure to pay attention to the popups and notifications that vortex gives you. Also remember to use vortex to launch your game.

Your log says DC Burger's isn't updated for 1.6 yet, and that Content Patcher will do it's best but can't guarantee it works:
Some content packs haven't been updated for Stardew Valley 1.6.0. Content Patcher will try to auto-migrate them, but compatibility isn't guaranteed.
DC Burgers works so that's fine
I think you'll have to wait for the mod itself to be updated.
I suspect Pytk lite is interfering with portraiture, since it doesn't look like you have any mods that explicitely need pytk

Okay what version are you currently using for DC Burger Portraits? (because it should still work even without winter portraits) Because you should be using the middle one for .pngs only as portraiture no longer requires ptyk (and pytk doesn't even work for 1.6 anymore)
Your portraiture file should only have .pngs now and include no .pytk files anymore

My folder looks like that but for some reason I'm still only getting the original portraits now and this error. I think this mod doesn't like me at this point!

- You should remove Custom Furniture, CustomWallsAndFloorsRedux and DGA (Dynamic Game Assets) as they're not updated for 1.6 (as it has become possible to do the frameworks features with CP now).
- Try updating the elf ears mod and Rustic Country Walls and Floors

Red in the smapi console is bad, as in it's telling you that there has been an error. No red is actually perfect!
And if you're ever worried about your save smapi periodictly makes backup copies of save files played on when using smapi so they should be safe from corrupting

So I downloaded a recolor mod and not all the tiles in the game have changed. So some are still base game color and then some have the recolor. Any advice ??
Ah I'd check the last time the recolour was updated, and if it was before march 19th that means it hasn't been updated to include the new tiles added

well, I played entirely without stardew expanded and now I turned it on and I cant clay farm anymore
Okay so I checked on the SVE server and it shouldn't touch clay farming
clay farming doesn't work in 1.6, due to rng changes
maybe it's the tractor mod then? thats legit the only other mod I installed in addition to sve

You can mod your multiplayer games, but to avoid any hiccups, all players' mod lists need to match. If players have too many mismatched mods, you will experience bugs in your game - even if the mods were working fine earlier, there is no guarantee that they will stay that way, and strange things may start occurring. There are a few exceptions to this - cosmetic mods usually work fine with no glitches, and some C# mods work as well. Mods often include information on whether or not they work in multiplayer in their descriptions. However, in general, your mod lists should match exactly.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

I didnt know how to copy steam files over, because i wanted a modded version of the game, and one clean you know

The mod folder have seperated folder for sve, rsv and vanilla, which are safe to remove
hey just to let you know, steam can also do depot downloads and the depot can be moved to any path period. i do this to have seperate stardew valley versions including a legacy 1.5.6 and 1.6._ at the same time! though yeah them having a problem only seen on pirated ones is silly to ask for help with x3c

While this may be true, even if someone depot-downloaded they should only put it in their Steam directory
putting it elsewhere will just result in us saying "okay, bet, redo the entire thing using your steam stuff and reset your game files"

Hello gamers, I just downloaded stardew the other day on steam. I havent started playing because i wanted to add a couple mods first. I have been trying to get smapi to work but everytime i open smapi it says this Oops SMAPI is missing one of its files. Your antivirus might have deleted it.

you'll have to check them one by one by replacing your current save with the one inside the backup
to go to your saves location hit windows key + r and enter %appdata%\StardewValley\Saves
But I wonder. Because i installed a lot of these mods and we had our babies for a lot of dayes
So if i found that baby, should i just play from that save?
is there a way to preserve config files across different saves so that your settings don't need to be changed back and forth each time? my girlfriend and I want to play with a lot of the same mods, but with different settings, and changing back to my settings every time i want to play is frustrating. I have stardrop installed which lets me set different mods on or off based on our gameplay but it can't seem to preserve config files from one profile to another like i'd hoped it could

configs are mod dependent not save dependant but you can set up mod groups with copies of your mods and that way assign a modgroup to each of you and have the configs preserved

unless you restarted your computer before you disabled your antivirus it is possible that the blocked file is not allowed on your computer on further extractions, so if you haven't already, restart your computer first then turn your antivirus off
I tried that too. I use mods for the sims 4 and haven't had any issues. I know the youtuber salamance said to you winrar to extract the files but windows 10 has a file extracter to unzip files. Im just baffled
and before extraction the file is in there?

I think I figured it out. It might be windows defender blocking smapi
that's possible, if you didn't disable it too
I went through the list and found the smapi installer and when I tried to open it windows defender popped up saying the app could put my pc at risk because its unrecognized

First time nervous poster! I had an issue creating a seperate mods folder and launch path for multiplayer (followed the instructions on wiki). I posted about it on the modding support forum a few weeks ago so below is the link to the post. Tldr is that the executable opens smapi and stardew but through the base Mods folder not the new folder designated by executable. I realize I could try Stardrop but would rather use this method if possible. My grape trellis turned from a trellis to just grapes but when I try to harvest them they disappear as if crows got them. And now my grape trellis seeds just place tea saplings for some reason.

Stardrop is just a mod manager, it still launches via SMAPI and Steam, to the best of my knowledge
there's just a button in Stardrop to quick-launch with those mods
I know this is silly, but I can't get the SMAPI console to do a dark background with light text...have selected it during install AND made sure it was correct in the config. Playing on steam deck if anyone else has had this issue?
Launching vanilla works fine with the controller, but if I launch Stardrop via steam and use that to launch Stardew, the controller does not work.

I'm confused on what you mean "launch Stardrop via Steam". Stardrop is not a Steam application, it's a completely separate application
You can add it as a "non-steam game" and launch it that way.
your town map should update to SVE once it's installed in your game and you start up the game fresh (not fresh save)
that may be your issue, but I don't know for sure. I have the .exe saved on my Desktop and I launch it that way. I'm doing some internet research to try and help you more

perhaps you need to check in the mods if theres some options you need to click? like once you launch the game and you can personalize mods

I loaded the other day one of my files on vainilla because i rly wanted to do an event that crashed with stardew expanded, did it and saved. Then i went back to play on modded and that specific savefile is gone, others are fine. It says "VERSION MISMATCH 1.6.3". @high cairn have you tried using the Steam Overlay (Shift + Tab) to configure the controller usage that way?
it's two possible things, one: your save file has the encoded information that you completed the event and got whatever "consequences" from that saved. the modded version has something that is conflicting reading that save with that event information. OR two, your vanilla wasn't 1.6
i did try to mess with the file and made events being forgotten :' ) i had to install a mod because i did not know at all how to mess with the text to make an event unseen
and I see at least 5 mods that are not compatible with 1.6

I suggest you use the filter feature on Nexus and make sure any mods you download have the "1.6 Compatible" tag
and use Stardrop, its seriously the easiest way to manage your mods

it can make it easier to launch large groups of mods that you use in one save but not another, instead of remembering what needs to be enabled and what doesn't for each type of save
kinda depends on what you see as "too much" of a hassle. some people hate going into File Explorer, others hate clicking and unclicking a big list in Stardrop
my brain is saying that we somehow need the save file to start-up on the day before the heart event... trying to see if there is a way to "backup" the save... are there backups in your save folder??? I've never checked

hey guys can anyone help fix this? my game keeps making all the audio get WAY louder like half the time I try cutting a tree and I don't know how to fix it. I mean it goes probably 10x as loud and the audio starts clipping and then it just stops a few seconds later but I don't know why it's happening

Anyone else having this issue with the Advanced Casks mod? I just updated a bunch of stuff and now my casks aren't loading. It took away my recipes and even when I reobtained them, my casks still were like this.

Content-Patcher reskins are typically compatible even if not manually updated for 1.6 , right?

That's the issue-everyone has to exactly match villagers, and with DSV match exact settings
