Please reset your game files. This will fix any broken game files, but won't affect your save files or mods.

But you should definitely reset your files if you use them @sacred marten. 1.6 has ensured most xnb mods have completely broken

do i move these all into the mods folder separately 
SVE dropped the dependencies for Shop tile framework, Saat and...something I forgot about, so the only reason you have that is because you replaced files

No. SMAPI will read inside folders recursively.
So it will work even if it is inside another folder.
They just have to be inside the main Mods folder.

idk if this is the correct spot, but i have a question about a situation that just happened to me:
I used the "add to existing stacks" button on a chest with a regular scythe, and golden scythe and my iridium scythe disappeared. does anyone know how what happened possibly or how i can get this back? or direct me if this is the wrong spot for this question.

anyone have any idea what mods would cause this? Essentially, you dont come off the bus but are stuck behind this ledge and robin is moved over multiple tiles. I have tried removing SVE since that is the only mod i use that adds extra to the game, but that didnt fix the issue. I thought it may be because i am using a custom map but it happens on the original maps too. SMAPI is not throwing any error codes. It does not occur in unmodded stardew but no idea what is causing the issue.

like most of your mods are Pathos maintained which means they wouldn't have a game breaking bug like that
The content patcher mods are all visual and none edit data/weapons
or, well, tilesheets/weapons
And the only two outliers are UI Info Suite 2 and/or AutoGate
is it possibly a bug with 1.6? my thought was the combining stacks it "combined" the iridium with the gold that was in storage
And while I've never seen AutoGate before it wouldn't cause your scythe to go away

Is it possible you each have different mods installed? There's an issue currently where that can cause errors like that, since the NPC will try to sync its appearance to other players who don't have that texture installed.
The curse of us not having tested multiplayer with appearance for the longest time

Ah, is it that? It hasn't been an issue before but I guess with the new update, it mightve messed stuff up?
The new update uses the appearance system, which currently has a bug in the vanilla game which causes crashes if you don't match them
(Like Pathos said)
Even when it's fixed, though, it'll default to the normal texture (or error texture?) so it's just best to match mods

Hi all! So my wife is having a problem where when she goes to Robin to build a silo, she can not move her mouse at all to place it. The same thing happens in the museum when trying to place an artifact on display. Has anyone else had this problem?
I personally think it's a mod conflict but I wouldn't know what mod(s) would be causing that problem

See that's part of the problem too. When her PS3 controller was connected it wouldn't let her move her farmer at all

Well, while I don't know why it's not in that log, it's also a 2019 mod
and well
1.5 came out in Dec 2020
And 1.6 came out in Mar 2024
so it's literally more than two versions behind XD
So somehow it turned itself back on? Maybe when I plugged in the controller back in. But restarting and turning it back off worked! Thank you

The folder is within the MacOS folder and was created by SMAPI during installing. It's loading the SaveData and ConsoleCommands from the same folder, but the mods are being skipped over

Often unzipped mod folders have another folder inside with all the mod stuff

Does anyone know why Stardrop isn't updating the status of my mod list? It says there are a bunch available to update, but it encounters odd network errors for a few of them when I try, and the "Update Available" notification doesn't go away.
What stardew version are you running vs the Smapi installer? (I can't remember if this is 1.6 Stardew running 1.5.6 Smapi, or 1.6 smapi trying to run on 1.5.6. Stardew.)
Those are most likely manifest errors-it just means the manifest wasn't updated along with the rest of the mod @tender arch

If SMAPI tells you that a mod can be updated even if you have already downloaded the latest version, it may be an error with the manifest's version number. To check, open the mod's manifest.json and change the version number to match the mod page if they do not already match.

As for the connection failure-I think that might just be temporary because of Nexus servers. You should be able to manually download and insert the zipped files into the Stardrop folder instead

This is a big ask but, you need to do a fresh delete and reinstall of SVE for the integrity of your game
You can actually Delete the pytk mod, SAAT, Shop Tile Framework (I know you need it for A Rainy Day clothing, but it's largely no longer necessary.)

Pngs are the same thing basically.
You either insert them into a framework like Adopt N' Skin which is basically obsolete, or you modify another mod to do it instead....Or do the vile xnb method.
So you mean even if you delete it fresh, restart, turn off anti-virus protection for that file and run the installer it does that? And have you gone to the link listed in the command box to download the missing software?

Hi im brand new to this discord. im unsure what to do so i hope someone can help me. i play with my wife as a farmhand on my farm. theres been a few times now where the game is lagging so bad it is unplayable. it seems to be from different things that my wife does. initially it was the hotkey from the convenient inventory mod to quick stash my items to nearby chests. i deleted the mod to see if i could get it to go okay or if something else may cause the slowdown, but just hitting the organize button on the farmhands inventory caused the lag to be just as bad and unplayable

I got my SDV to work by manually deleting sampi and reuploading it. (windows)

Sorry Im unfamiliar - harmony?
Harmony is a type of code that mods use when all else fails in order to break the game's limitations
It uses specific code tools to allow certain things in game to happen that vanilla literally doesn't support
somehow, your computer is referencing all harmony code as "broken", despite the fact that it very much isn't
But it's referencing it as "broken" because it can't find it as a constructor (again, code thing)

It's baked into the save to prevent crashes and allow them to be safely removed. The recommendation is to debug killnpc Npcname before removing the mod

I...think the setup itself might be causing some interference because that's pretty complicated for the system. It might be an issue with input methods

I am trying to use BetterChests with BetterCrafting but it seems I am unable to craft more than 1 item at a time and I have to close and reopen the crafting screen every time to craft a new item. It affects both the vanilla crafting and the BetterCrafting UIs. I saw BetterCrafting was updated but I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong or if there's an issue with the mod.

My farmhand is getting double score in everything. When there is a minigame, they get double score. Like every event that has score for fishing or egg collecting every point gives them 2 points. When they catch legendary fish in chat it also says it twice, or when they get achievments it says it twice.

Update Expanded Preconditions utility, add Xiddav's kid tree house, and try and delete the redrawn pelican town and install the new one (if it's even updated)
XNB mods often break the game and are not recommended. See Modding:Using XNB mods for more info (and a list of Content Patcher alternatives), and you can reset your content files to fix problems caused by XNB mods.
For mod creators, see Modding:Editing XNB mods for help unpacking & editing them (including for use with Content Patcher).
Those files should not be touched. It's an old, not safe way of modding

you could take them out by just clearing your red messages and rerunning your log
if you didnt wanna do all of them
but usually I've seen with the ppja modders, you pull one and they all come crashing down in your log 😅 add in vortex and who knows what files are missing or outdated in there
I think a fresh reinstall is probably better for me so I can actually look at what I'm downloading and what I actually use versus all the weird stuff I downloaded on a whim

might be you have a FTM pack that's trying to add an item that doesn't exist, or trying to add something to a place that doesn't exist
FTM pack? The only thing I can think of that loaded me with red errors was deleting NPC mods. Somehow, smapi still remembers them even if the file is gone. Is it because of that?
Possibly? The last non-error thing in your log is actually Item Extensions trying to see where stone is being placed

I downloaded SMAPI, I seen the mod folder come up in my stardew valley folder through steam, and from there i downloaded vortex and added all of my mods on nexus through vortex. I can see them all in the mod folder but when i open stardew nothing is there

- did you take the SMAPI installer out of the zip and run it?

When you ran the SMAPI installer, in the green text at the end there was a launch option text string

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). It will probably be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command% because that's where most people have Steam and Stardew installed to

i need some help with getting rid of mods from my save file

elaboration: i had sve and some other mods installed for a multiplayer save i was playing with my friends and i got lazy and didn't remove them when playing on my solo save. i have some error items strung around my save and 4 items i can't get rid of in my inventory that are also error items. i've removed the mods completely from my mod folder but they still keep showing up. i can't sell these items to anyone and i can't trash them either. the error items strewn around my save i also can't get rid of with a pickaxe/axe/hoe/bomb, and i desperately need help 💔

You can empty your inventory aside from the error items into some chests, then type "debug clear" into the SMAPI console to delete everything in your inventory

Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

It might help, I don't know, it's stone as in the mine things but it might be checking to replace them with custom resource clumps? Globally resetting stone with the reset terrain mod is at least worth a try

!saves if you only slept once, you can revert the last save. smapi may also have saved it in its save-backups folder

Hi im brand new to this discord. im unsure what to do so i hope someone can help me. i play with my wife as a farmhand on my farm. theres been a few times now where the game is lagging so bad it is unplayable. it seems to be from different things that my wife does. initially it was the hotkey from the convenient inventory mod to quick stash my items to nearby chests. i deleted the mod to see if i could get it to go okay or if something else may cause the slowdown, but just hitting the organize button on the farmhands inventory caused the lag to be just as bad and unplayable

I am trying to update the old custom npc, but I have encountered a bug that I don't know how to fix, that is, the Flower Dance Festival character can not show up and dance in the event, the error is that the npc can not be found, I can confirm that the character sprite has the dance frame in the correct position. It crashed/froze on the new day calculation, after I reenabled Grapes of Ferngill and Crop Growth Adjustments. Not sure if it's connected to those mods in particular, but that's the ones I activated today after Crop Growth Adjustments got its latest update.
I would upload the Smapi-log, but the file is 41 mb and smapi.io refuses to take a file that large ...

hmm, I had some mods to update today as well, tht tilesheets haven't been updated for some days now though... I'm wondering if it could be east scarp, or the content patcher or Esca's Modding Plugins not working with it properly anymore...
As I'm having seemingly the same error as you, and only having updated the following mods totay, I suppose one of them might be the issue:
- East scarp
~~ Crop Growth Adjustments~~ - Content Patcher
- EMP
- Unlockable Bundles
- Item Extensions
Given that according to your smapi log you don't use the crop growth adjustments, I'd cross that out from my list...
I seem to see the Items Extensions mentioned in every error-block in my log...
So I tried to save on a test save without east scarp, that was not it. Still not working. 🤔
Oh and unlockable bundles and item Extensions I tried as well
Just checked the Items Extensions mod page, it seems countless people have the same issue with the newest version, getting stuck on black screens that start a new day

well, without seeing the smapi log with the error it's hard to tell where the problem lies. Every mod difference could be the cause though (although only graphical changes are rarely responsible)

you shouldn't be finding them
but report on Visible Fish's page that you get an error with the fish tank and attach that log

I don't think there's an option to detect if someone uses specific mods (CJB Cheats Menu I assume is your issue)

Looks like content patcher, config mod and fhasion sense needs to be updated!
The way i "update" mods is removing them and just reinstal the newest version I can find on nexus or curseforge!

in your case Json Assets is just being buggy, as now with your log and the mod which adds 50 shirts(!) which I all had to check the ID for(!) couldn't possibly add a shirt twice
the first shirt's name is 1st the second one's 2nd all the way to 50th... no way any of these names are the same

(It's common for npcs to have weird schedules a day or two after loading them into an existing save or after touching timespeed in any way)

Modded NPCs will stay in bed the first day they're added to a save! This is a known game issue. Let them sleep in for one day!
