Yeah, it tries to check if the cue exists, but I forgot about Custom Music. Tbh, that entire bit of code turns itself off if you have SAAT installed at all, and it's gone in the 1.6 version, which finally doesn't die if someone asks for a bad cue
I added it mostly because I was getting sick of crashes tbh

error handler is there, it's just dying on reading specific assemblies
I recall this happening before
The game failed to launch: BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\FarmerPortraits\FarmerPortraits.dll'. An attempt was made to load a program in an invalid format.
Same error again, did I broke the game or what 😭
due to antivirus software taking bites out of mods, basically
they had to redownload every affected mod

Hey, I'm having trouble finding the mod folder for my game, I've got stardew valley on steam, idk if the version matters for this but its the latest one im pretty sure

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

Hii! So I've been playing SDV for a while and I had to remove all my mods to clean my computer, then I downloaded them again. I also downloaded the diverse sdv but the portraits of Pierre and Caroline are not working, and no error appears when loading the game. I've tried installing again, I've tried changing their vanilla portrait for the modded one, I've tried installing smapi again and I've tried putting another portrait mod but it just doesn't work on them... does anyone know how to solve it or has there been something similar? I know the basics of mods so I know it's not much but I've been trying to fix it for two days now! Sorry if this is confuse, English is not my first language!!

But sounds like a config issue if the only portraits not working are of those two characters
Or alternatively you do have another mod that changes their portraits and it is over writing dsv
but that's the weird part, I only have diverse SDV in this sense
the other mods are more for others to work or event mods, alternative furniture or the farmer

I'd reinstall DSV entirely
it's not even registering a Pierre edit
(It's editing it from RRRR, but DSV is not listed as having applied any edit to Pierre)
Looks like Romanceable Rasmodius Redux Revamped is editing portraits doe pierre and caroline
correct, and if that edits over DSV, that's an incompat
Though I am not on computer atm and I can't say it 100 percent certain
But right now, DSV isn't even registering an edit
so tossing RRRR won't make a difference at present

The red text isn't an issue, it's a known harmless patch for a buff that hasn't been implemented yet, or something of that nature.
And define crash, because the game was loading in the log-did it crash to desktop or say not responding? If the latter, that's normal for modding. It's just loading the assets in for the next day.

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance. It is highly configurable and you can choose which options to enable.
You know how right before you get control in the morning you get all the money from the night before? As that's happening it plays a bunch of level up sound effects at once, then freezes for a few seconds and then crashes to desktop

After looking more closely I'm not seeing any compatibility issues in the margo documentation. I have Quality Artisan Products which isn't compatible but it says margo just overwrites it, and it hasn't been causing any other problems that I know of.
Is it possible to just change the game's default portrait to some of the High Res from some mods? No matter what I do or try, DC Burger's portrait just dont show up properly in-game
no. the default for the game is to display portraits of a specific size (64x64 pixels). to use a higher resolution requires a C# mod
HD Portraits and Portraiture are the two widely used ones. DCBurger's supports Portraiture and (the not recommended) PyTK, if memory serves
yeah, ive tried using them all, HDP, portraiture and pytk. THe portraits will always appear extremely zoomed in or just like a bars code

You can mod your multiplayer games, but to avoid any hiccups, all players' mod lists need to match. If players have too many mismatched mods, you will experience bugs in your game - even if the mods were working fine earlier, there is no guarantee that they will stay that way, and strange things may start occurring. There are a few exceptions to this - cosmetic mods usually work fine with no glitches, and some C# mods work as well. Mods often include information on whether or not they work in multiplayer in their descriptions. However, in general, your mod lists should match exactly.

Yeah the weird thing we were experiencing is they that do have the mods, they just weren't showing. For some reason it was detecting their folder as a mod, instead of just a folder. That's what I am trying to figure out. I saw them manually download, extract, and put their mods into the mod folder.
If there's anything but folders inside it - and I mean anything inside that QoL folder that isn't a folder - yeet it
if it is a rar file, like what I see is in their log's loose files, they need to unzip that
but if inside "QoL" is literally anything but a folder, it'll say "hey there are files here but no manifest/content"

Is there not a safe overhaul mod that changes the bundles?

Bundle mods are generally considered to be dangerous due to how they work in 1.5.6
On save creation, bundles are baked into them
This means if you have a good bundle mod, everything's fine!
But if you have a bad one, your save is fucked
Like there is no fixing it
Allbundles is a good example of it. Key 37 error, goodbye save
Between saves I always remove mods that I didn't originally use in that save.

But in 1.5.6 I would always recommend, if you install a bundle mod, to go right to the CC and unlock every room immediately because if you choose one that's anything less than stellar code wise, goodbye save.
If I am getting this right, if I use a unsafe bundle mod in a save, and it corrupts that save, it could potentially corrupt seperate saves even if I didn't use that mod in it, and remove the mod before going into said seperate save?
... No. If you use it in a save, it will corrupt that save and it will be unusable CC wise. If you remove it and start a new save, then it won't be affecting the bundles on the new save
But the save that it corrupts will be corrupted beyond usability.
Most of the time, if you remove a mod, error handler takes care of it

your statement says "that you didn't originally use in that save", which doesn't specify "oh, the mod broke everything"

Most people end up installing More Grass, thinking it gives them more grass, and then wondering why their grass is all vanilla
Otherwise it looks like most to all of your mods are fine - I use a fair few and the ones I don't I either know are fine or - if I don't - they are most likely fine (or at least I haven't seen anyone running in here with a bug from it yet

You hit Command + F key to open the Finder App, click Go at the top of the app, and it should show an option to Go To Folder.
When you click that, copy paste

That first part was never stated in the mod description
Second, the mod under toddler sprite specifically states that it will use vanilla without relevant toddler sprites
You don't have Unique Children
So you wouldn't get the custom sprites
Children, further, do not talk without Unique Children Talk/Immersive Unique Children talk

Hey now! Like I said, that child explosion glitch was not representative of how many children I actually have in SDV
it was multiplying my children next to every spouse in the game and that was a test file too

and i downloaded required mods but i already had them installed
for some reason they were showing up as two different files so i deleted the new files
namely shoptileframework
and expanded preconditions
and i reinstalled them
and they are showing up in my mods folder

Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

yah, you can do that, you just have to trim the numbers folder off the filepath it shows
like it'll say, paraphrased a little, "extract to stardew valley/mods/[numbers folder]" and you just trim that to "stardew valley/mods"

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

You have options if you are worried that the update to 1.6 will break your modded save.

Copy and move your game folder to a new location on your computer and launch SDV directly from that new location. For easier access, pin the new location to your favorites or create a shortcut to the .exe file on your desktop!

Rename the game folder to "Stardew Valley 1.5.6" and launch SDV directly from that new location. NOTE: You will not be able to play through Steam anymore unless you also set up the game + SMAPI as a non-Steam game method, so keep that in mind if you care about total playtime hours or achievements.

okay. So click games at the top of your steam client, then hit "add a non steam game to library"
but when I try to add it, I can't seem to get any other options then the ones that are launching Steam

It'll launch steam regardless
non-steam game is to make sure it uses the proper game install
Steam will only update the main game install
It won't update every copy of SDV on your computer

It will only update Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley 1.5.6 will stay that way and never be updated by steam since it's not directly tied to SDV itself

If it just said unique ID and the only dependency was Platonymous Toolkit, you delete the whole section

last question (I hope): do I also need to make a back-up from my save file? I'm testing it now, and when I launch my 1.5.6 SV and my Steam-version, it both launches the same save file. I tried to find out the structure and saw it has another folder it uses for saves, which explains why the same save file runs on both. What if I launch my save in 1.6 when it's released, could this be a problem?
I made sure my 1.5.6 is in a total different folder, so it has a different path.
Nope! HOWEVER, never load your 1.5.6 save in 1.6
Once you do, it'll have data 1.5.6 cannot recognize
it won't load it unless you load it and save it
when i look up the the error log its showing everthing working but its defo not working idk what to do
If you load the file, the save will be loadable in 1.5.6 until you save. Upon saving, goodbye ability to load in 1.5.6

Hi, I’m having an issue with the mutant carp showing up in my collections page-I caught it early in the save and its currently in an aquarium in my house. Having it show up in my collections page will complete the last of my achievements before perfection. From my very limited knowledge of looking into the save data- I believe that the mutant carp shows that it has been caught.

Oh, Myuu, speaking of, a little while back friends and I were able to successfully use SteamDew on 3.18.4
We had one disconnect, but nothing showed in the log on that one, it otherwise ran smoothly

It's listed as a requirement on the Nexus page for DCBurger's high res portraits, but it isn't listed as a requirement on the Content Patcher version so
