how to unshare an outfit from all saves in fashion sense if u forget to save and it shares anyway
So yeah. If anybody can look at my mods and help me work out what's causing incompatibility issues (weird Sprites and textures) then I'd appreciate it

Karm's and 3d buildings are both incompatible with the current game version, you can order mods on nexus by Last Updated so the outdated mods are further back

i think your fruits and veggies, more trees and more recipes mods need a delete + reinstall at least, they seem to contain some older files that shouldn't exist anymore. not sure if they are causing any problems though but won't hurt

Hii, I was just wondering if anyone knew any bugs or issues with the 'panning updgrades' mod- I just tried to pan, and nothing would collect.
(unless i'm just being crazy and I couldn't reach the spot, as i know the animation still occurs anywhere, even when not by a pannable spot)

You can ignore it for now. It just means that when 1.6 and SMAPI 4.0.0 releases, it will most likely break

That looks like it's the same repeating error. Hm... I'm absolutely not a troubleshooting expert, but have you ever used XNB mods? It looks like it's searching for a file that doesn't exist.

based on the log output, i expect you have folders called "Long" and "Short", which are the ones it is complaining about
and as for the counting: some mods are actually multiple separate mods packaged together, for technical reasons (the big expansions do this, but so do some small ones). so some mods count more than once

hey there are no error in my Smapi but my conf file wont show up in multiple files after I reinstalled my entire mods folder bit by bit.
I tried restarting and reinstalling but that wont work, the mods definitly have a conf file but its not showing up for me (yes I tried launching the game)

ok i fixed the overlapping recipes + added the missing one. Look Up anything shows the recipe correctly

how do i update my SMAPI
You download the latest version here or on Nexus, then you extract it like a normal mod. When you extract it, you open the folder and click the run installer option on whatever operating system you're using
You don't have to delete your Smapi or uninstall it, unlike a mod! Smapi cleans up after itself, so you can run the installer without deleting anything in your folders

So I had to take the majority of my mods off because they were incompatible with each other or outdated.
And certain mods needed other certain mods. Etc.
Anyway everything is good now. No errors.

Filter by upload date, popularity, read mod descriptions, if it overhauls something it probably is incompatible with overhauls of the same kind
Dialogue overhauls are fine, they just overwrite each other if they share the same keys, so you may see some dialogue expansions get swallowed up by others
I'll be transparent-last time I saw your Steamdeck you still had far too many mods for that machine to comfortably run, and you've never done this before, so I highly suggest you follow the advice Atra and I gave you yesterday

Some mods there are still compatible, but Nexus and Github are the go too. Mostly because Chucklefish mods are from back when Chucklefish was the publisher

Considering that's a list of CP replacements, as long as they were converted within the past 3-4 years they should work. Even 2019 cp should work depending on the field?

just try them out, usually old CP mods will still work unless the thing its changing has been updated a lot, like characters getting new portraits.

Dialogue mods don't have any compatibility issues aside from possible lore conflicts
C# mods are listed on compatibility of Smapio because if they conflict, it's far more likely to cause things to function incorrectly. CP mods usually just overwrite or negate each other

2019 is mostly safe, any CP aside from like, map edits should absolutely work and even those should function, but 2018 might be wonky.
2020 CP should be fine almost entirely across the board

Yes, all the updates are related to time, I'm running through the list for things that update on ticks outside of npc scheduling and Fastloads.
One thing I will say is verify file integrity, and also, how many Automate machines do you have and what are their intervals?
Because this is definitely related to npc schedules and possibly related to tickupdates
I'm not actually sure how many machines are running and the timing, I will have a look now

longer intervals reduce lag potential, especially with how 2-6am is basically calculated as simulated time.
it was set to 60, so I went middle ground and set it to 300

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance. It is highly configurable and you can choose which options to enable.

yeah having a lot of JA stuff does contribute majorly to load times and day start time. not much you can do about it afaik
I would definitely suggest taking one down if it doesn't improve. There should be a way to set a dedicated GPU for stardew with your m2

At first I just thought simple Smapi issue, then looked in and saw that Mods\Mods\Mods issue

i sent them a winrar of my mods folder on discord
although with a diff recolor cause they wanted something else but it wasn't a problem till this dga mod was added just now
and they can still join once the dga mod is removed
Alright, so 1. Gently recommend you not do that because that's piracy. 2. They need to fix the Mods Mods Mods folder
Also you need the same exact mods. Mod recolor conflicts can also cause issues.

It's fine. Most people don't think about it, but it takes away traffic and downloads from the mod author, and a lot of us have our permissions set so others don't upload to other sites or redistribute without permission. Just be mindful.
But after they fix the folders issue, should still reinstall smapi
Dynamic map tiles is an optional mod for Cape Stardew and not required. If you have incompatibility issues take a look at the requirements article on the nexus mod page highlights the required mods.
Ah gotcha I didn't read the article though which is on me. The requirements tab does say it's a "strict requirement" so I figured it was a dependency

Is there any resolution adjustment for Smapi android?

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

Hello! I use a mac and am attempting to play Stardew Valley Expanded. I'm trying to get the "Grandpa's Farm" map to work, but I can't seem to do so. It seems (from my quick check) that the other mods are working; just not the farm mod.
I choose the standard farm option upon creation, yet I just get the standard farm. It seems SMAPI is working, as my terminal opens every time I launch through Steam.
Help would be appreciated. 😅 I'll attach a SMAPI log.

So, there should be a button that looks like four panes on your keyboard right next to right control and space. You click that and the r key at the same time

Should take you to the file with s MAPI-crash.txt if it exists, or SMAPI-latest.txt. you then click and the text file and drag it out of the folder onto the smapi box

I'm using the automate mod and a mod called advanced casks mod but for some reason the hardwood casks form that mod isn't working with automate, normal casks take items from the chests just fine but not the modded casks. I'm wondering if there is anything in config I can change to make it work? I tried reading and understanding the config for the automate mod but it's just confusing for me

This is very odd, I couldn't do it manually at first but if I picked up teh cask again and replaced it I could so I'm going to do that with all of them and see if it fixes the issue
Maybe you forgot to install Custom Cask Mod at first? That's the only thing I can think of why this happens.
(Or it didn't fire up for some reason the first time.)
Now that you mention it I did actually forget it at first. I downloaded both but forgot to put both in my mod folder so at like 5pm in game after I had put down all the casks I realized it but I didn't think anything of it and just finished the day and then put it in my folder
Aa yea. So the hardwood casks you placed without Custom Cask Mod will not work at all. You'll need to replace them.

it looks to me that you have two farmhouse mods installed
either that, or you unlock the grass area in the cellar after upgrading your house
id also recommend checking out the requirements for the original mod itself

i had a different one, but made sure to delete it from my folder before installing this new one

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

...If you moved the pigs assets to a different mod, why would the one you took it from load it? One is a skin, the other is an animal asset.

I hope someone can help me out to get SMAPI to work for me on my Android phone.
So I installed the SMAPI apk. It says it can't find the Stardew Valley apk. Which is weird because I have the game installed. So I guess it's a directory/folder access issue. But I'm not sure what I can do about it.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
what i mean by that is check your SDV version first, to determine if you should spend any more effort on this

Okiedokie. So. I had a little catastrophe.
This is as much a Windows issue as Modding, but;
A windows update caused one or more core windows files to get corrupted and I needed to run a system restore using a repair media.
Doing this seemed to cause a number of files to become 'lost' - they're not present or able to be discovered, as if the original files disappeared.
Anyway. This caused my Stardrop to lose all my mods within its files. It's reading as 0/0 Mods, but it retained my Modlist labels - they're all just empty.
I'm wondering if anyone knows a way, either by finding the old modfiles by some method I've failed to use (tried search, getting some weird .exe files with Stardrop in the name that can't launch, likely corrupted) or by recovering my directory of mods from, say, Nexus or elsewhere so I can reinstall them all over time.
My biggest concern is not getting all the correct mods back and this breaking my ongoing game save.

I'm really sorry this happened to you! There's no easy way to get your mods back in a big clump, but Nexus does keep your download history, so you can easily click on the links from there.
I'm willing to put in the leg work. 
If you click on your Nexus Profile picture, a list will pop up. Just choose "dowload history."
I'm mainly worried about not getting the right mods reinstalled. Maybe Stardrop will somehow remember which ones are supposed to be active in a given list?
I had some for testing or multiplayer that I don't want on in my singleplayer game.
If you still have access to your save files, it's also possible that your SMAPI logs might still be intact.
My saves are intact, though they're on Steamcloud, so I don't know how much that changes.
I can understand that. Stardrop should retain your profiles, if that's how you set them up, and if the mod folders are there, but just empty, then it sounds like you have roadmap of sorts.

the blueprints just replace the weapons themselves in vanilla
so whatever the odds were of finding dwarven weapons are the same for finding the blueprints

Solution: You may be missing a dependency or there is a leftover item in a recipe that's name has been changed/moved to vanilla. Your game will still work as intended with this error.

In general you simply don't do that
DLL files are compiled mods
you would need to find or recreate the source code, edit the source code, and recompile the mod
*or decompile the DLL
(decompile is what I meant by recreate—you'd probably need to fix a decent number of things to get a decompile to compile)
Most c# mods are open source anyways
Hey. I downloaded some custom animals and unofficial BFAV mod and it looks that it doesn't work as intended. Some of animals like deer, squirrels or pigeons changed into chickens the next day after I purchased them. Others like red pandas are changing into cows every 2 days. I checked the config file and everything seems to be mapped properly. Has anybody encountered this issue yet. Is there any solution?
I know that 1.6 patch will make possible to add custom animals in some other way but I would gladly enjoy new animals before it is released.

Your save is corrupted
Root element missing generally means that something went wrong during the save process
like quitting the game or having it crash
but ı didnt try to opoen that save
Only the PearlScarlett save is broken, but opening the saves menu tries to "preload" a little bit of every save
the game tries to parse all of your save files to display the load game menu
So any broken saves in your save folder cause red text in the log anytime you open any save

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

whenever i try to install smapi, this text shows up (it translates to The system cannot find the specified route.), i've tried various fixes online yet none have seemed to work for me, including reinstalling, installing previous versions and launching the installer from the stardew valley directory, could someone help me?
you click the gear icon in the main loading menu to pull up the mods that have configs you can edit.

typically, the SMAPI installer automatically finds your game directory. if it doesn't, it asks you to type it in, so normally you copy-paste the directory in and hit Enter. if the path you typed in is invalid, you'll get that error

you dont need to open it with nodejs. if it doesnt say json, you likely just have file extensions hidden but im pretty sure doesnt matter either way. just right click the config file > open with notepad (or vsc which i see you have) and then do as soupy says

could be file permissions? the .bat is mainly a script that runs an exe. if you unzipped as administrator or if it's on another drive or something maybe it can't see inside the internal directory
i actually first installed the game on a separate drive as the smapi zip/installer but i moved it to the same one and nothing changed

In the MARGO mod, there is a quest where Clint has to activate a forge to create dwarven weapons. When i go to talk with him, the game freeze.

it is trying to draw something related to completed quests and failing very badly. this could be a MARGO error, but it could also be something having gone wrong with the base-game assets for the journal exclaimation mark thing

The "reset your content files" thing is a first troubleshooting step for weird errors like this
since if it is a basegame asset broken somehow it'll fix it very quickly and if not then you can start to look at mod stuff

OK so looking at the error message some more, some mods that are mentioned are DaLion's Modular Professions Combat Overhaul, and AeroCore. I also just realized your MARGO isn't getting update alerts - the version on GitHub is 4.2.3 and you have 3.0.1!

I have been struggling getting SMAPI to work on steam deck, and I have one final hurdle.
I failed manually installing SMAPI and mods, so I resorted to copying my partner's modded file to the deck, launched Stardew through vortex, and now everything works almost how I want it.
The problem is that right now it only has desktop controls and I want to launch Stardew in gaming mode with the controller layout.
Could someone please dm me and help?

Using Vortex Mod Manager with Stardew Valley has the risk of your mods not getting installed properly, and other issues. Consider doing manual mod installation or using Stardrop, a mod manager that was purpose built for SDV, instead!

hello! Gamepad Mode should be a setting in the [[Options]] menu in-game
if that's not easy to access due to the controls, you can probably edit the game's startup preferences file
I tried forcing it to use the gamepad mode, but it just changed the cursor and gave me a sort of weird keyboard/gamepad hybrid.
What's the preferences file?
in the file ~/.config/StardewValley/startup_preferences, you should be able to change <gamepadControls>false</gamepadControls> to say true instead of false
~ is your home directory (this is next to where your save files are kept)
(i haven't used gamepad mode or a steam deck, so i don't actually know if this will solve your problem, but it's all i've got)
