That's a new one on me, but videos are pretty much as bad as images of console are

Unlikely. Since current Android SMAPI is broken with the latest SDV, no one's making compat.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for SDV 1.5.6.61. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

So this is probably a silly question, but I got mods that use DGA but... how exactly does it work? Where do we get the furniture from? And some mods have both AT and DGA but i assume i should only use one?
And between DGA and AT which one is... not trying to say better but which one is best to use?
for DGA, usually Robin's shop. depends on where the mod author put the furniture items for sale, but i think it defaults to Robin's. Also, furniture catalogue in most cases.
DGA & AT are perfectly fine to use together - they do diff things
DGA - new items. AT - new textures for existing items
there is also a dga store that I think is accessible by command

Sooooo.... Anyone up to helping someone very new to modding SDV? I went on to Nexus mods and went through the steps of downloading everything for stardew valley expanded, including grandpa's farm. Before I downloaded the mods Smapi could open and play the game fine. After I downloaded the mods the game goes to the white screen of death and stops responding. I went on to smapi.io and used the log parser if that helps. I'm on windows 10.
so, not responding is normal. once you start up a save you should just step away from the computer and not touch anything until it finishes loading. clicking or pressing anything can mess up the load process

with (basically) only SVE installed, you shouldn't have to wait too long
(btw, then you can also delete Custom Music cuz only ARV was using it based on your log.)

lets you walk away while the save is loading and will pause till you click out of the pop-up - no risk of oversleeping and wasting a day 🙂

it depends on the mods really but generally i suppose so
yes, in particular if you add NPCs and maps. 1.5.6 has a very slow NPC pathfinding algorithm which performs very badly in relation to the number of characters and maps and it is a major bottleneck
The only odd thing is that the new save spawned all the debris "off", like shifted too far over. Lol, I've got boulders and trees growing IN the river
I exited to the title screen (without saving/sleeping) and reloaded but it's the same. Lol, It's a test run farm so I'm ok with deleting it
Reset terrain mod and no clip mod are also great mods for issues like this if it persists and you want a quick fix without troubleshooting.

whenever i click on my save, it takes like 2 minutes to load then directs me back to the title screen
northern gulf and mineral town are incompatible due to character names, remove one of them
also like.... please sort out of mod folder. there are tons of duplicate items and mods not loading because theyre installed multiple times. it makes your log difficult to read.

i.e. it's not list_creatures or sell, it's list_creatures <arg> or sell <arg>, replacing <arg> with whatever goes there for those commands
my guess is pet, the name of your pet, the type of pet, etc.

tbh this kind of modding is hard for new modder
Who's Wizard portrait doesn't work with SVE. You also need to read the instructions in both the portrait mod description and Portraiture's mod description, not watch video guides that are generally outdated or don't work

It most likely from a pirated site. If your aister copy the exact SDV folder from steam, it shouldn't be like that

👀👂 never heard (of) that before. i would guess that the footsteps are being played at a really low frequency by mistake (this happens at random with e.g. ghost wails and mine staircase sound effect in vanilla), but no idea why it would happen consistently or only in the farmhouse
isn't the sound longer than the normal footstep sound though?
yeah, that can happen depending on the implementation of pitch shifting

Hello :) I tried downloading Stardew Valley Expanded for the first time and it's not working. I followed a detailed tutorial so I have no idea what has gone wrong. There's a bunch of red text that comes up by the "coding section" when you try to launch the game but I don't really know what it means. Can anyone possibly help me or know where I can check for help. It's my first time using any kind of mod so I have no clue what I'm doing.

ok i would start by removing some of those and see if you can identify by elimination which one is causing it

I honestly have no clue. When I was trying to install Stardew Valley Expanded there was some mishaps so they told me to delete and retry but maybe I deleted the normal stuff instead.

Hey! I have a split-screen setup with two controllers. I struggle with just two mods: Lookup Anything and Alternative Textures, since they both rely heavily on using the mouse.
- I have not yet figured out how to interact with objects using AT's paint bucket using just the controller - is there a way?
- There does not seem to be a way to toggle the on-screen keyboard (e.g the one used to name animals) when using Lookup Anything - is there a way?

i.e Left click becomes 'A' and Right click becomes 'X'. For some reason AT does not use this mapping and only reacts to mouse clicks. I am wondering if the easiest workaround would be to throw together a quick mod that simulates a mouse click whenever I press a specific controller key.

"number crafted: 1" is added by some other mod, which is probably why it overlaps.
otherwise, that's normal. The vanilla crafting menu just doesn't handle furniture recipes very gracefully
if you use Better Crafting, it has an option to make everything uniform size, which makes it look less weird
the recipe's being removed in the next version anyways in favor of a new mechanic, so I wouldn't worry about it too much
hey, if you ever wonder about this, i'm happy to say it appears fixed... and sorry to say i don't know how. i told myself i would handle it later and just bear the demon in my floorboards for a lil while but just now as i was installing new mods and fixing some issues reported by smapi, it now no longer makes a cursed noise.
it seems pytk wasn't loading as it should because i had both the "old" pytk and pytk lite in my folder so maybe that's it? i think that deals with sound a bit

i installed and visited downtown zuzu, and i noticed my framerate fell horribly even when i got back to town (5-10fps). then when I went to sleep, it went back to normal. does the game keep maps loaded even after you leave them? is there a solution to that? seems unpractical with such mods

If you install it mid-save, especially in multiplayer, there can be unpredictable syncing errors. You just need to delete and respawn the item causing the issue.
Based on your log I guess it's a slingshot. Just delete whatever slingshot you or your friend are holding and make a new one with Item Spawner.
To claim this entire huge mod is broken because of one issue that's easily workaroundable is unfair.
Your config issue is also perfectly normal. Configs can change between versions, especially if it was a while since you updated.
Therefore if you try to keep your old config between major version upgrades you may have an issue like this, which is also super easy to fix, as you did.
Again, doesn't mean the mod is broken.
MARGO is a huge mod. It's not possible to test every single way people might use it. Plus people apparently don't like to read instructions and use it incorrectly.
I'm honestly tired of this "MARGO is broken" rep.

Lola, it's recommended you don't swap farm mods out mid save. It will shuffle everything and may corrupt it or delete entire buildings. Also, ngl, you have nearly every mod under the sun-I'm surprised it's even functioning.

I'm hoping for some help with Gwen's Medieval Craftables. Everything seems to be loading perfectly expect the items listed under "NotReplaced" in the content folder. I've confirmed that my config reads: "NotReplaced": "", meaning all items should be replaced, but I can't figure out why these items aren't loading. Do I need to remove them from the content as well?

Due to how load order works, anything editing after the craftables has the ability to override its changes.
So: What specifically are you missing from the craftables

Coincidentally, I'm missing almost everything from the Medieval Craftable content folder listed under "NotReplaced" although I've configured them to load in the config file. Some items though, are seed maker, furnace, chese press, mayonnaise machine, keg, preserver, loom.
I mean... if it's listed under "notreplaced" it won't be replaced, no?
you may want to send an image of your config file.
(You also may want to send an image of what you mean by them being listed under "notreplaced" in the content folder, which I sincerely hope means you didn't put anything in the game's content folder)
I did also try loading the game with all the items deleted from the content NotReplaced line and that did not work either.
Honestly, alyssaraeneal, this likely means one of your mods is overriding the entire craftables spreadsheet to add their stuff

if they have, then you can quit out, then add them back in bunches until you lose them
If not, then I'm fairly confused, especially since stuff like the seedmaker are on TileSheets Craftables

I figured it out! You were on the right track with those mods overwriting the medieval craftables mod. But instead of disabling each of them, I edited the medieval craftables manifest to run after each of those other had loaded first so that it would overwrite each of those. Thank you for your help!

The "Stardrop is locked while the SMAPI is running" comes up when the game is actually running. If Stardrop isn't running anymore for some reason, reinstall it and make sure it's connected to the StardewValleyAPI from the launch options SMAPI gives you when first installing and etc etc.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for SDV 1.5.6.61. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
If you find a mod bug on Android, first make sure that:
a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
b) you have the latest mod version(s) or have the last-known Android-compatible version;
c) and the mod author hasn't already addressed it on the mod page (e.g. via an Android-specific version or comments).

On Fall 18, Emily will send you a letter inviting you to come to her home so she can explain the local traditions for the upcoming holiday, Spirit's Eve. When you stop by her house, she will explain that on Fall 27, before the nighttime festival starts, villagers will be trick-or-treating in town. Some villagers will stand outside their houses giving out candy to costumed trick-or-treaters, while others go around trick-or-treating themselves, starting at around 11 AM. You can get a costume and stock up on candy to join in on the fun!

I want to change farms to a custom farm, but I'm so far into the game that I don't want to restart. Is there a way to change farms w/o restarting? Or do I have to destroy everything in my current farm then swap to the new custom one? (I don't wanna do that cuz there's a lot to destroy)

The problem now is that Stardrop won't open at all now. It'll flash open for about half a second and then it immediately closes itself. I can't run stardrop at all now. i'd spend more time tinkering and trying to get it to work but i have to go back to work.

So that mod doesn't work because it was horribly coded or it wasn't back in the day but is now.
You have two options. One, the easiest, delete the mod, don't use it.

last night
but for some reason it jumped back weeks before the festival ocured and i got knocked out from lag and was in harvey's office. I went home and saved before closing the game through the menu

the _old is meant to allow you to go back in time on your save one day
but since you saved, you just kept the glitch on your file.
And your log indicates you loaded in on Winter 4.
I played a whole game week grinding and gifting visiing other areas and exploring til winter festival

My point here is that since you saved at this point you're probably screwed to either A) lose a bunch of days by save backup or B ) you have to time travel
