ok so update its working. i think i understand what happened. im on winter 1 year 1 and you get access to secret notes that day. i think the game has to re-patch drops and a bunch of maps with new secret stuff and i got a big lag spike when entering the farm house because the world had unloaded so it could be patched

this is actually probably winter lag. Basically everyone and their mother wants ice and snow effects and their npcs to wear sweaters, which is surprisingly expensive. I would disable as much of that as possible
If it ends up becoming an issue I'll be sure to do that but it doesn't seem to be a problem until I enter the farm house at night so I'm not to worried If it becomes an everyday thing then I will disable it but if not it's fine

Entoarox Modding Utilities (EMU) is breaking on me. I need it for extended minecart. I moved over to a different mod, but it works so differently, I don't like it. Does anyone have plans to fix that mod (technically both EMU and extended minecart)? It hasn't been updated in 2.5 yrs.
Also, the first time I used it, the main minecarts attached to my farm. Something broke since the latest SMAPI update (an error was thrown) and now it doesn't connect to the farm. Not sure what happened. Something to do with the serializer. Anyhow, I'd love it if someone updated this mod since it seems to have been abandoned.
Is this normal? I've downloaded many mods before and this is the first time i've seen this

I don’t think anyone plans to update it. Because there’s other mods that do similar things people tend to save their energy for more new things.

But I've had seasonal outfits on the entire playthrough so I don't understand why it's making a difference now does ridgeside include an option for winter coats or something?
I don't ever see concerned ape adding a minecart to the farm because the bus stop is so close. But a lot of the cave mods have mine carts in them that are basically useless without a minecart mod.
Also, I have only found one mod, besides extended minecart, that adds extra carts to the game. Are there others that work that don't just add one minecart location?
I switched to integrated minecarts and it's honestly just not as good as extended minecarts was before the SMAPI update.

I'm honestly only capable of making visual mods. Like furniture, objects, basically anything that's in an xnb. I know how to rework a CP and AT mod. That's it. I'm not ready to make a mod that requires a dll. That's above my paygrade. 😅

how does CP's dialogue key system work?
I have two mods editing the dialogue playing on winter 2, the 2nd one should be the one that i see in game, but no matter what i try, the 1st one is the one playing
what confuses me is that even if i completely delete the first dialogue and its key, the game still tries to load it, showing me "no translation (RomRasSVE.winter_2)"
Why is that?

are you deleting it from a file in a i18n folder? the translation key RomRasSVE.winter_2 is used somewhere else in the mod, where it edits the winter 2 dialogue key (or whichever dialogue key is getting used on that day)

I have tried to download Ridgeside Village and some other mods, and the mod requires me to download Custom Companions.
But, why I try to start the game, the mods don't load because:
Custom Companions 3.0.0 because it's no longer compatible.
It has the same issue with Shop Tile Framework.

Can someone tell what the problem in this dialog is? The game is stuck making me choose between "Yay Besties" and "Booo" but choosing either option brings up the question window again. I have to shut down the game to exit the dialog window.

Hi i wanted to use a cp portrait mod but i dont like one of the characters portrait and prefer to use another mod for that specific character, can i do that ? I already tried to replace the character png from the mod with a new png but it doesnt work and somehow still shows the same portrait from the mod even though that png shouldnt exist in the file anymore, i even go as far as deleting the whole file for that character and still to no avail, am i missing something ?
Longevity causes this. I’ve never figure out why. Usually causes game crash.
(Longevity authors claim it’s not their fault so it’s possibly a mod conflict, but everyone who’s had this issue solved it by removing longevity)
Replacing the PNG should work, it sounds like possibly something isn’t going right
But you’re correct that if the png is gone it shouldn’t be able to reference it
Right ? I was really confused too, when i delete the mod everything seems to be normal and it comesback to the orginal portrait so im the problem is in that mod
Maybe double check that you’re editing in the right folder and also that you’ve saved any edits before launching the game?
And maybe search the whole folder of the mod in case there’s more copies of the png

So the i18n file only contains the dialogue lines, it's another file that actually does the replacement, i'll remember that if it happens in other mods

hey guys, so i have a massively modded game right now that me and my partner are playing through multiplayer. I just added a few more mods this evening (Because i dont understand when to stop) and there are now very long load screens and my partner gets kicked when events start. During the load screens SMAPI does show that the inventory for the NPCs has been updated, then there is a long pause while it seems to be looking for assets that arent there. Im not sure if this is a result of there being something wrong with one of the mods that i have installed or if this just happens to be going on at the same time and the load times are now just due to the fact that there are a lot of mods. I will add that i have a powerful pc so it shouldnt be a hardware issue at all, if thats an element
highly modded multiplayer strains the network connection, not just the computers

Zuzu, Durins rest and cape stardew (along with dependencies). already running SDV expanded. More grasses, Immersive map 2 earthy recolour patch, walk the desert and upgradable pan

If its a networking issue then i would believe that as mine goes to hell when you look at it funny. In terms of hardware, hers is a little less sturdy, however mine shouldnt have any trouble

Their versioning is stuff like RSV 2.2.3, 1.14.17 (non-i18n) SVE, so the versioning indicates stuff like 6 mo-1 yr ago

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
So in general you should update when you can if you're having problems

Spritemaster is a mod that does two things: resampling, and performance improvements
You can get performance improvements without resampling if you want, by configuring it
Or you can have both
It will be visually noticeable
Because people have wildly different opinions, it's best for you to know about the config so that if you fall into the "hate it" side, you can disable it and return your normal graphics

Quick question. Is there a difference between CP and AT? If im not mistaken, content patcher changes the texture of whats there already. Does AT (Not sure what AT stands for sorry) add a new item entirely, or does it just change the texture for the item still just no using CP?

CP will change the texture of every copy of an item
AT can have various textures for different copies of the item

Think of it this way. You have two silos. With content patcher, both silos are automatically retextured. With Alternative Textures, you can have one texture for silo 1 and other texture for silo 2

Any way to boost performance? I am already using SpriteMaster. I have a pretty good pc (ryzen 7 5800x3d, 6700xt gpu, 32gb ram, running the game on an ssd), and yet i sometimes drop below 60fps in areas with dense grass at 75% zoom level. Granted, i am using custom grass, and i have over 400 mods installed, but still. I expected better performance in a game such as this. I have checked my hardware utilization while running the game, and it is at like...15% average. Is the game not able to fully utilize modern hardware?

I have a question about portrait mods! so i have SVE & RSV mods running and I dowloaded DCBurger portraits and run them via Portraiture, the DCburger and the Lunakatt portraits for SVE are in one folder named DCBurger and the RSV portraits are in one called Orangpie, can I just put the portraits from Orangepie into the DCBurger folder so I don't have to constantly switch back and borth between the two when I'm playing?

So I downloaded the mods and SMAPI and put them all in the same folder like last time, as well as the launch options key but no mods. Where did I go wrong?

Mods aren't loading. Usually when I load SDV it'll show on loading screen how many mods there are and it's not showing any

Fixed it. There was a mod folder within a mod folder.
Now it's adding the mods to the game

you can try these: If you installed with sudo apt-get install $package-name, you would remove it with sudo apt-get remove $package-name.
If you installed with sudo flatpak install $package-name, you would uninstall it with sudo flatpak uninstall $package-name.
If you installed with sudo snap install $package-name, you would remove it with sudo snap remove $package-name.
If you installed from an archive, you'll really need to consult the documentation that came with the archive to figure out the correct approach.
