The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
Unless youre using CP high res portraits it should be okay
i think i do have a few high res portraits installed
I recommend switching them over to Portraiture
Doesn't require PyTK or anything anymore
they have HD Portraits, which should be fine
Then thats fine. You can just remove PyTK and see what breaks
If its portraits, convert them to Portraiture

Android SMAPI does not currently work for SDV 1.5.6.61. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
b) you have the latest mod version(s) or have the last-known Android-compatible version;

can you move the entire Stardew Valley folder to a directory that isn't within Program Files (x86), change the target location in steam to the new one and see if SMAPI recognizes the files in /mods?

For some reason town exteriors only retain the modded tilesheet during Spring? Regardless of what retexture I use. Fall, winter, summer all appear vanilla despite the having its respective town seasons tilesheet included in the mod folder. How to fix?

Okay so I'm having an issue that doesn't make sense.
My game was running great, no errors in log. It then randomly crashed after sleeping, but showed no errors yet when I loaded the game again it was super laggy and my fps was crap so I check the log again and there's a bunch of errors showing. Wasn't sure why so I deleted the mods causing it and redownloaded them, again the game running fine, no errors and it didn't crash. So when I log in today, it's choppy and my fps is terrible so I check my log and there's all these errors again. I'm just so confused as to why it's happening?? Can anyone help me or at lest tell me what these errors are?

Automate has been working for the last 3 months and UI works as well, I've had it for well over a month. Neither mods have been updated since I updated them last and there were no issues. This just started yesterday. I don't know what would cause mods to act like that, so I'm super confused.

Tysm okay so I'm having a hard crash on loading the day. No errors/red in SMAPI as it happens after SMAPI is done writing for the morning. I actually just now isolated Automate as the cause b/c I disabled it and PFM Automate and it opens fine. I have like 1000 automated crab pots so I get a ton of fishing xp every day, and right before the crash a distorted sound plays like it's playing a ton of level up sfx at once. I think it must have to do with that but I've had those crab pots out for days and this is the first time it's crashed. Has anyone seen or heard of this with Automate before? I guess I'll just disable it for now, post about it on the Nexus page and try to find an alternative mod, but it would be nice to be able to solve since I built a bunch of stuff around Automate

I'm having random issues with automate that started yesterday too, I have no idea what's causing it. We're not the only ones either cause there's a few posts on Nexus about it.

To make a long story very short Android isn't using the same code as the PC version. This hints that a type is different between the Android version and the PC version, or maybe Pathos used a type that isn't in Xaramin

open your steam library, find and select stardew valley, on the steam page for it there should be a little cogwheel where you select properties; then navigate to installed files on the left and click on browse on the right in that window which should take you to your stardew folder
(I don't have stardew on steam, this is 100% OJ, ignore it, all the same)

That's a bummer. Do you think I'll be able to re-enable them after this day or do you think it's going to keep happening? Maybe there's some setting I can tweak that will keep them happy. I would say it's probably fine as long as you don't have the fishing level ups at night
While holding down the Control button, click on the file you want to copy the path of in Finder. Press the Option key (In the menu that appears after step one, you'll see Copy turn into Copy [file path name] as Pathname) Click Copy [file path name] as Pathname.
Ie, raise fishing to max with only one installed

I explained multiple times. Literally, where and how, it didn’t even pop up whenever I was given the representation. There’s clarification but no direction.
Does anyone have any experience with Modular Gameplay Overhaul and Resourse Storage?
I'm trying to get these two to work together, but for some reason with Modular installed, resourse storage wont work with crafting. As in, it wont notice the resources in the pouch for crafting.

cause it mentioned smt about how shane would react to a specific loved gift at 0 hearts, smt about him saying scram or him being really surprised but it does the normal dialogue you would get

Thanks for the reply! So, it wont let me craft anything using the resources in my resource storage. Weirdly though, it works sometimes when I restart the game. Im not sure how I did that though. I'll do some more testing.
Going through and starting each module one by one for some reason worked on one save, but not the other.
Please test with a minimal modlist to eliminate other conflicts
started using Hamachi to connect remotely via LAN. Also using SpriteMaster and Network Optimizer
we are on year 4 with no major issues, also using TimeSpeed and CJB cheats menu for Instant Robin
AFAIK the problem is the online co-op servers don’t work well and we just had too many mods. Hence Hamachi

my game takes like 5 minutes to load, and it freezes a couple times before that too
i've never had it take this long before, it used to just take about a minute and didnt have the spinny blue wheel of death

yeah, you took out Save Backups and Console Commands, which are built-in by SMAPI. So for one, you'll need to reinstall SMAPI.

Your log does not show that this is the most recent version of SMAPI.
Yeah, you could do that. But in general, removing mods mid-save that add NPCs & objects is a little more complicated than just deleting them.

thats fair, but i wrote down every mod i use on a doc (for organization reasons + ways to possibly save storage) so i'm not too worried about losing it all since i can redownload the mods, SMAPI, and SDV if i really need to

the people over in mod making gave me the patch that would let the game combine 2 different dialogue content jsons and i got that fixed and now it gave me this

This is an indicator that a dialogue line is missing from the mod itself, and it's not something that you can fix - the mod author needs to do that.

Uninstalled and reinstalled it, gonna see if it works this time.
It's a mod that lets you see all the information about items youre carrying or any object on the ground or people, press F1 and see the info about it (while hovering with your cursor)

Json Assets (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1720) is a mod which lets content packs and other mods add custom content like crops, trees, weapons, etc. See the mod description for details.
If you're making custom content, ask mod authors in #making-mods-general about whether using Dynamic Game Assets (!dga) would be more suitable instead.
Better to not use xnb mods
Anyone know how to fix a 'no translation' in dialogue sort of issue? (There are in fact translations I'm pretty sure. Never had problems with the mod before, but just recently I am now. I checked to see if it was an issue with not having PyTK or something, but having it installed made no difference despite the mod having not been recently updated.)

I think they meant it so that only trees like mushroom trees and oak trees and the like can grow there

those tabs look at what you've ever had in your inventory
it doesn't actually look at, say, what you donated
for that you'll need to look at the museum
it's really common to forget to donate something

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. MARGO relies on some of the newer coding in those mods to work properly, so smapi won't load margo until you have the newer versions of those two mods.

I'd have to see more of what your directory looks like, but a common cause of that is zips that weren't extracted properly.
as for the perks of marriage - you could always do a search in your mods folder for "perks" and see what comes up.
When I install the mod fruits and veggies and extract it it makes multiple copies of it which prevents the game from running and it says to delete and reinstall them but it keeps making copies whenever I extract it

I drag it to mods folder and right click and hit extract, it’s what I’ve been doing for other mods and they seem to work fine but this has been happening with a handful of mods and I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong
I don't know what would cause a duplicate file error unless you actually have a duplicate file. Searching within the mod folders for the main name of the mod can help find extras if it's inside another mod folder.
Make sure the zip itself isn't in the mod folder
and if you're still having trouble - blowing away the mod folder and bringing things back one at a time is a decent troubleshooting step when you have no idea what's causing a thing.
otherwise, you might have to wait for people that are vastly more knowledgable than I am. 😦

You installed fruit and veggies standalone version and also ppja megapack version. It's better to install all ppja mods standalone anyway

You install ppja megapack (that already has fruit and vegies) and fruit and vegies mod itself. You need to choose to use either mega pack version or standalone version

I play Stardew Valley via Steam on LINUX and I'm having trouble with lags in the game. The lags are so intense that it makes playing pretty much impossible.
I checked my SMAPI Log for any useful information about the issue, and the only "new" thing that showed up in there was a phrase that read: "Steam Networking Sockets Error" also something about "thread starvation".
Is there any solution for this error?
your computer is possibly too weak to handle things
both of those are associated with insufficient computing power
sockets and thread starvation iirc means that CPU or RAM is low
have you tried closing every other open application while playing?

Is there a way to use some sort of search or command to figure out where I get a certain crafting recepie? Or at least learn it with a command, I'm currently two recepies off of craft master in a 250+ modded playthrough and I think the two last ones are glitched as I believe I've completed all the content. I'm currently missing the Wedding ring (and I'm in singleplayer so thats probably a mod) and I don't recognize the "slime condenser".

Hello, any Linux user around? I have an issue that SMAPI is not able to look for updates while initializing, and I have the feeling that it is related to Linux
I would assume, with no further evidence, it has to do with libssl1.x being deprecated
Fortunately, that will be fixed by the next version of the came, or you can install libssl into the game directory
I tried to run the GOG version of the game on Ubuntu 22.04 (which I have previously gotten to work on Ubuntu 20.04).
It installs fine, but when I try to run it, it says no supported version of libssl was found. Has anyone gotten the game to work on Ubuntu 22.04 or have a solution to this error?

Hey, could someone here possibly help me? I passed the cutscene in which Leo moves to the valley but he's still on the island. He's there for all the festivals and whatnot, but doesn't actually live there. I have a fair amount of mods which could possibly be affecting it (though i can't think of anything specifically that would have any affect on where Leo lives) so I was told to ask in here rather than technical support

coming back to this. I removed East Carp (well just renamed the file along with some other mods) and my game runs alot better now

Stardew isn't well optimized and runs on a single thread, and you can't really fix that by throwing more hardware at it
gotcha. So I would've needed to remove some mods regardless then
I'm not sure why but I'm playing in a world with my bf and for some reason everytime I try to go into the mines the loading screen pops up and then disappears and then when I try to warp somewhere else I'm still stuck in the mines
And I can't even move around or anything I'm just stuck until I close the game

I remove current MARGO put the fix instead, went to talk to clint, removed the fix file and put back the initial MARGO. The bug happened again. How do you check if your steam launch options are empty?
Is that log happen right after the crash?
Right click sdv on stean library, click properties. Smapi on mac doesn't need launch option tho

Can someone help me with a problem I'm having? Just recently got into modding the game with Vortex and for some reason the game has gone weird in the aspect ratio department.
additional question is there a craftable recolor thats compatible with SVE? I prefer darker woods and more earthy tones and the darker brown wood craftables mod isnt compatabile ( https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/15421 )
it still works just not for the sve items added to the map
I kinda find the vanilla color schemes to be a bit loud
you would have to edit sve tilesheets to do that
craftables and map tilesheets are different, so naturally this mod wouldnt edit those

the stars are "furniture" on the catalog.. instead of "decor". i noticed that decors can be places outdoors.. and furnitures cannot

I have it but it won't remove a quest that I had previously from Grandpa's Farm mod
it doesn't show up in the cheats menu

you have both child age up and the farmer's children mods, they are most likely not compatible (childtonpc + little npcs at the same time could be problematic as well)

How can i make a portrait work for other characters? Downloaded nyapu's portrait for east scarp but only the portrait for lexi works.

For future reference for players who might go thru the same issue: I FINALLY solved the infamous "Thread Starvation" / "Steam Networking Sockets" issue 
Steps:
- Access your Steam settings and turn OFF those two configs:
- The "Beta Steam testing"
- The Steam overlay during gaming
- For Linux players specifically (not sure if applicable on Windows too, perhaps yes):
- Go to your Stardew Valley game page on your Library in Steam. Search for the engine icon > Properties, and activate the proton stuff (the most recent excluding the top newest).
- Use a mod called SPRITEMASTER (available at Nexus) to make your loading screens load faster and diminish lags.
And voìla! No more "thread starvation" issue.

Sometimes mods get flagged by overzealous antiviruses. If you're really worried about viruses in mods you can:
- download from Nexus or Moddrop, which check all files for viruses automatically
- preview the file contents on Nexus to see what you're downloading (content packs containing only images and json files are highly unlikely to be viruses)
- view the source code for most C# mods on Github by going to smapi.io/mods and checking the advanced options
- download and compile the source code yourself

It's just that it gets really laggy once I enter zuzu. I saw from reddit that I should remove the CC folder inside the Downtown zuzu mod, but when I do, I can no longer go to zuzu through the bus. there's something very slow in new save creation if you have multiple expansions installed. I see you have RSV and SVE. I've seen it take more than fifteen minutes to start a save

Hi everyone! I'm having an issue with Quest Framework. It has worked fine for me in the past but I got a new PC so redownloading my mods, now it is failing to download because Nexus can't write into the file and even I as the admin of the computer can't delete it from the folder! What should I do?
All fixed! The solution was to just delete vortex and all my mods and just start from the beginning again

If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

I've got a little lag problem - whenever ten in-game minutes pass and the clock changes, I get a split-second freeze. I've already tried disabling some things, but haven't had much luck yet. SF lets you pick a type for the building interior, but all the Deluxe buildings in More Building Upgrades are animal houses
It should work on its own, unless you have another content patcher mod editing the scarecrows.

this is due to vpr sve being outdated and no longer maintained. i believe you can use this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/14928 to fix it

i found the mod that overrides the totoro scarecrow and removed the sprite but now it's invisible instead of being replaced by totoro. thank you for helping!
Just removing the sprite won't be a full fix; you would also have to remove the rule/script that edits the scarecrow.
