The scavenger hunt and prospector hunt from MARGO is bugging out for me, for some reason the purple arrow is not showing up. I've tried moving away from the entrance, but still nothing. I remember having this issue ages ago too, but not what i did to fix it. It was working earlier and nothing's showing up in the Smapi log.

Is there anything relevant on the MARGO github?
If not, I recommend posting a bug report with a log, and often DaLion asks for the save affected as well

Well, I skipped to loading without Dynamic Reflections and I got my farm map fps to 8-15, which is certainly better than it was!
(I looked thru my CP mods and really didn't see anything that would reasonably affect the farm map... but I don't know as much as you do! It just seemed v strange that like, Vanilla Tweaks, for ex, would cause crazy lag on the farm :/)
I really hope I don't need to drop CC because that is the basis for the mod I'm working on rn! π

hey guys! so i reinstalled and updated mods only to see that my old saves are gone. I went through and found them and confirmed they are not corrupt, is there anyway to get the game to recognise them again? I did see that SpaceCore can do this but I didn't find a fix for it

Nuclear option: Save your files & mods somewhere, not in your game folder. Completely uninstall SDV and SMAPI. Reinstall.
By looking at the files, the site I was going from said that if it savegame at the end of the string that it wasn't corrupt

Can you move your save files to your desktop maybe, then delete any other saved game info, and launch the game. Do you get any issues with creating a new farm/farmer?

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

Yes. That's what you had to do in the first place

You open the duplicate file
You're saving it under a different farm name
If it works you should have several new files with the same stuff
So like if your first farm was Christmas and the second was Halloween, and you transplanted over Halloween b/c Christmas was corrupt
You'd have two Halloween files
But one is your Christmas file
And when you save on that, it'll show as Christmas Farm again

It's crashing - something about that file is making the game very unhappy.
Did you create any backups or is your save-backups subfolder still intact?
Also - for TMXL, you need to edit the manifest.json to remove the dependency for PyTK

Ok, that's good. First, delete ALL of the save files currently in your game folder.
Then edit the manifest.json for TMXL to change the PyTK dependency to "false"

Nobody including the host can demolish or move buildings in our co-op game. Anyone aware of this issue? We recently removed BFAV from our save, but none of our buildings were from that mod, all vanilla animals and buildings

I removed PyTK and dynamic reflections, and downgraded spritemaster slightly mid playthrough, but the later two shouldnt have effected the main farm...

You have expanded forage locations for SVE and for IMF2. They might be compounding the spawns...
since it was the IMF2 that was on the same nexus page as SVE, is there a config I can edit? (I'm woefully ignorant on that stuff)

Look at the the GMCM options either on the title screen or in-game for SVE.
neither IMF2 or SVE's GMCM mention forage locations on the farm itself
closest thing I could find similar to this error was fixed by reinstalling FTM

I'm thinking that there are mods you have installed that aren't compatible with Android, and it's crashing the game...but that's just a suspicion

The folders may be named something different, but the SaveGameInfo is the same.
Hi here. I'm having problems updating smapi on my deck again. When I try to change the windows bat file to a zip file (which is what i did last time) it says it's not an archive so there's nothing to unzip

Yup. But install isn't a viable command option. Last time this happened I was able to pull the files out of the windows version and move them manually but as I said it won't allow that this time

Native mode would use the Linux version of SMAPI; Proton uses the Windows version of SMAPI. They both launch from Steam.
I can't explain why the Linux installation isn't working for you...have you tried completely uninstalling SMAPI?

Yes. I can't uninstall it either. That's the first thing I tried. This has only been an issue with the last two versions of smapi. Prior to this it wasn't an issue

Honestly, I would suggest reaching out to the Steam support folks, or spend some time googling Linux fixes.

Fair and valid question, Aeywoo. I think that a lot of people are hesitant to outright ping a mod author unless the mod author specifically states that they welcome direct pings and provide their discord user name. And it gets compounded by not seeing any activity on the mod for a while...
I only used to get annoyed with reply pings, I don't really mind if people ping me.
I already know what direction the mod is going in now, if I get motivated tonight as I am now, I will try to not only rework the maps and update them but also change them to be more Stardew feeling.
The old maps feel very jagged and old.
I haven't changed them since Tarniyar first made them, and of course I didn't bother changing them.
I did slightly update the Ghost Town map a bit, and someone did make a new stylesheet for it so it looks better.
I need to update all the reshades, I'm certain a few of the old ones are no longer supported or even updated.
Some are, and the reshades are wildly different than what I had updated them to back in 2021/2022.
the README.txt file inside the smapi installer zip has manual install instructions (you're probably misremembering which file you unzipped last time)
tried running smapi's windows.bat as admin, it says this

Removing mods can be fussy, since things are just saved into your save.

alright, soo... Updated the JA versions of my PPJA mods to DGA from Github after Farmer to Florist was having a mail bug. That got fixed.
What broke was the Seasonal Berries for ppja's Fruits & Berries..
Would changing the dependency in SB's manifest "ppja.fruitsandveggies" to the updated "ppja.fruitsandveggies.DGA" possibly fix it, or would I like, corrupt something?

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

So my game just crashed so badly it exited to windows, now that's a first, hah. From what I'm able to tell, I think it failed to load a heart event in Cindersap Forest when I was leaving the wizard's tower. But from what mod I'm unable to tell.

I used the magic mod to move the altar to the front of pierre's store instead. There's the sprite of two altars, one for your magic spells, and one for the divine worship of yoba. Fun fact: you'll find that some expansion mods add in an altar that the magic mod doesn't touch - those altars will ALSO <.. do the thing ..>

If your game is crashing walking near your fish ponds, it's likely you have had a JSON shuffle within your fish ponds. There are two different ways to fix this:
Install Warp Snitch (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9087), fish everything out of your pond, reset the pond, and put a base game fish in your pond, then save. You will lose your fish in your pond, but not your fish ponds.
Type world_clear current fishponds (or world_clear current fishpond ) while on the farm. This will instantly fix the issue - by deleting your fish ponds from your game. You will have to build new ones.

Yeah you can get the recipe from the goblin quest. I set to force recipe to true on config even. The item that the mod adds isnβt even able to be spawned it bc itβs just not there

You can do this a few different ways - you can launch SDV directly by clicking on the StardewValley.exe, you can make modgroups, install Stardrop, or hide all your mod folders one by one.

Stardew/SMAPI lags every hour on the hour, especially at night. I suspect it has something to do with seasonal costumes. Is there anyway to remedy the lag? Are there any settings in SpriteMaster that could help?

im installing SMAPI and i extracted the files and put it in my modding folder and all and launched the SMAPI Installer and its telling me its installed and i use steam and its telling me also that "If you use steam, set your launch options to enable achievements (see smapi.io/install)" and im confused

At the last step of smapi installation, there's green text. You need to copy the line
"........" %command%
and paste it into launch option on sdv setting (right click on sdv inside steam library then properties). This makes everytime you launch sdv from steam, automatically launch smapi (means modded)

I found that it was either SpaceCore or Json Assets were causing my game to have an infinite loading screen.
I don't know about this mod you're referring to, but if you want a mod that spawns items, CJB Item Spawner is what you need.
It doesn't spawn monsters, though.

The monster spawning is hardcoded, iirc, so you can tweak how often they spawn and how many, but you can't spawn them on command, afaik.
dang. I was trying to make some challenges like trying to farm, but the viewers would spawn a flying skull or something of the sort
They could do that with positive things, like buffs and such
I don't think that viewers would be able to alter your game at all - you would have to perform the actions.

Somehow the crafting recipe got duplicated, and the UI menu can't reconcile that. You're probably going to have to revert to a previous save.

!saves - to revert the save. This could have been a one-time glitch, but I would suggest removing Movement Speed, playing the in-game day, get the recipe, and then see if it continues. Mods that affect time can do weird things to the game.

In the future, there's debug commands that unlock every recipe immediately
there are a LOT of debug commands that are super useful

Hello,I'm having some issues with launching the game
I had some problems with launching before too but they were solved by restarting the computer but this time it just doesnt start
I downloaded Stardew valley extended mod recently but also played like at least 7 hours in total in different occasions
During my last gameplay I noticed it started to really slow down and I started to get very low fps all of a sudden so I decided maybe I've been playing on too long and my computer couldnt hangle it(its not really that good but I didnt had this much of an issue until now) But after returning to play again some hours later it just got stuck on launching even tho it seems like its already done and restarting didnt work,I reinstalled smapi(latest version) and updated all my mods but still no use

Ok, so there are several issues here. I'll give the main two and then i'm probably going to stop helping because of one of them.
One, you are using a pirated game.
Two, Siv's marriage mod is outdated and won't work
Even looking for love would not make Robin Datable
Because she is married, she is not a single. So she would not be able to be dated. You will need a specialized mod for that.

Hello π I'm trying to download RSV (and I was directed here from modded farmers :p) via mod drop, and it isn't working. Is there a better way to do this where I can download all the dependencies needed for it together? Also, I'm already running SVE

correct, thats how most mods work. but since you already have sve a lot of them wont need to be downloaded a second time (Content Patcher, Shop Tile Framework, etc)

if someone could help me that would be great!! i was using the tractor mod on the base settings to gather truffles, i came in the view of fish ponds while doing this and the game crashed
If your game is crashing walking near your fish ponds, it's likely you have had a JSON shuffle within your fish ponds. There are two different ways to fix this:
Install Warp Snitch (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9087), fish everything out of your pond, reset the pond, and put a base game fish in your pond, then save. You will lose your fish in your pond, but not your fish ponds.
Type world_clear current fishponds (or world_clear current fishpond ) while on the farm. This will instantly fix the issue - by deleting your fish ponds from your game. You will have to build new ones.

yes, but after i save, am i able to fish the base game fish out and return to using modded fish? or will this happen again if i use modded fish?
You can go back to using modded fish, the problem is if you remove the mod where the fishes come from while they're still in your ponds
Install the mod you removed with that quest, force complete it, save, remove mod again.
there's other ways to get rid of it, but that's the easiest.
(This is also why you don't remove a mod while a special order from it is in progress!)

are you sure that the dialogue starts right away? some mods like that build it up gradually or have specific days for it
i checked the content file, it show every line for each day and i dont get them ? and i have the requirement of two hearts at least already

Anywho. The issue is in its code and since the mod is not maintained anymore and they have closed messaging stuff per the page. It may work if you restart the day, but generally speaking it is probably borked
(You can try editing the code yourself to make it work - I know I had to brute-force this exact situation with Shiko, hence why I could determine which one it was - but otherwise it's not really usable in its present state)
Hey, can anyone provide me with a guide on how to use the custom furniture mod? Cuz I wanna use some furniture pieces from sundrop city mod. Like should I just get the pngs ouf of the assets folder and toss them in the custom furniture assets folder?

You'll have to build the mod yourself
And in any case, you should be creating a DGA furniture pack

Dynamic Game Assets (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9365) is a mod which lets content packs and other mods add custom content like crops, trees, weapons, etc. See the mod description for details.
If you're making custom content, ask mod authors in #making-mods-general about whether using Json Assets (!ja) would be more suitable instead.

I figured out that one or both mods causing this infinite load time was SpaceCore and Json Assets. I deleted them both and voila, my game began working again!

Did you reinstall? Those are some pretty core mods, so I'd rather have the load times than lose them π
Nope. They still caused the game to not load. And not all mods use those. All the mods I have use different core mods.
It's actually common given many people not long ago had problems with SpaceCore and Json Assets.
I know not all mods use them, but I'm too lazy to sort through them lol I don't love the long loads, but I don't hate it enough to put in that much effort (I'm running a couple hundred mods). Just wanted to make sure that it wasn't just me mostly.
But not everyone has those problems so it might be a different core mod doing the infinite loading screen thing.
Good to know which one(s), too, that it might be so if I ever do have a few extra hours, I could go through and try to get it cleaned up.
I have nearly 100 mods that don't use Json Assets or SpaceCore. So it might even be a mod you don't suspect.
Like not even a code mod.

Did you by chance, install mods not compatible with the newest version? (If you're playing on android that is.)
That's true, too. I might do some troubleshooting at some point if it doesn't get fixed in the next couple of weeks.
