hey yall. So I am using the West Elm's furniture mod and it shows that I can have different types of beds but it's only showing me on type of bed? idk how to change that

that is what it needs, actually. custom companions is the mod name, PeacefulEnd.CustomCompanions is the Unique ID
so im assuming you incorrectly installed Custom Companions or its failing to load for whatever reason

now go to steam, right click stardew valley, select properties, and then paste that thing you just copied into the "launch options" field

and now, to install mods, you right click stardew again, then select manage, and then browse local files. you should see a folder in there called Mods. after downloading a mod from nexus/wherever, you extract it and put the folder in there. then just hit play on steam to launch modded stardew

Nice to see people getting helped ☺️ ~ Quick Q (hopefully) from me about Mod Groups on Mac. I have already used SMAPI to play multiplayer with a couple of basic mods with friends. Now wanting to have an alternative folder or two for my own save file/with another friend.
I downloaded the SVE mods as a starter just to test it out and put them into a separate folder called ModsSVE. I then followed the wiki's instructions for Mac(Steam) and created a command file with the pathname as it lays it out. When I run that command file, terminal opens and it successfully boots up steam and then Stardew Valley but still with my basic 'Mods' folder.
I did get the initial pop up warning for 'privacy and security' that the terminal could not edit/overide the specificed folder because it doesn't have the privileges. I tried following the "chmod u+x" part next from the wiki tutorial. In the terminal, I enter that chmod u+x command and the pathname to my .command file and it doesn't do anything. In terminal, it just goes to another line for a new input without saying if it went through and I don't know how to check if the privileges did change. When I try running the command again, I don't get a warning that the terminal can't access/change because of privileges but it still goes to the 'Mods' folder instead of 'ModsSVE'.
Anyone else have this issue/know how to trouble shoot when Mac doesn't seem to be using a different Mod folder/group when setting it up?
You can troubleshoot whether chmod took or not with ls-l FILENAME
The string of letter it spits back should have xs in it
I have never gotten modgroups to work on Mac but I’ve also never put in any effort
Occasions people report that it doesn’t work but I’ve never figured out if it’s just tricky
I just rename folders to Mods whenever I want to use them
And Mods (Thing) when I don’t
That seems like a much easier solution!

hey friends, i've received a baffling bug report for my mod and this seems like the best place to ask about it.
has anyone experienced the hat mouse shop rendering as if closed even after getting an achievement/having the store open?
from the report, it sounds like the boarded-up door is rendering on one of the Front layers:
I think it might be a layer issue? My character when walking up to the storefront is concealed by the planks as if standing under them.
my mod doesn't affect how the store opens or change any part of the code that renders it, so i have no idea what is going on here. has anyone heard of this happening?

There are 4 other mods that edit maps/Forest, besides yours, ichor.
I wonder if one of them has a tilesheet that could be causing the blip?
what makes it so confusing is that the Forest map has the ruined, boarded-up house in its tiles (spring_outdoorsTileSheet). but when the hat shop opens, the door and the HATS and the hat sign and the mouse get loaded from Cursors and just drawn over top of the map
i guess i should look more closely at how exactly that happens, but that still doesn't explain how the boarded-up tiles take over, or how they get rendered in front of the farmer
Ok, so the map change is predicated on the achievement opening up. Rubber ducking it here...Does one of the other have achievement conditions that could take precendence?

So you're not likely to find much help here. But look at the red text in your log. You're missing a mod.
So I added the Hugs and Kisses mod but it doesn't seem to work. From my understanding you're supposed to right click to be able to hug someone with at least 5 hearts.

Ok. Inside Hugs and Kisses you'll see a file titled "config.json"
I opened Hugs and Kisses and I see an application extension called HugsandKisses.dll, a PDB file called HugsandKisses.pdb, and manifest, a JSON source file. When I open the assets all I see is kiss.
manifest isn't what you're referring to, right?
Ah, so maybe it wasn't loading. You wouldn't have a config.json until it actually loads in the game
When you installed SMAPI, did you set your launch options in GOG?
I did not. I didn't know I needed to that, I actually haven't successfully ran any of my mods yet, I downloaded SMAPI, the content patcher, and the mods and didn't play the game or try to use any of them until Hugs and Kisses.

You don't have to set the launch options, you could just run the StardewModdingAPI.exe directly from the file, but if you want to be able to track your playtime through GOG, then you have to do the weirdness.

All the content packs are listed under "Content Patcher" on your log. All the bold-face entries are C# mods. 🙂

like for spring its all dandy, except the grass
its meant to color the grass too but it isnt
for some reason it recolors summer
but fall isnt...

I'm not seeing anything jumping out at me as a red flag. But...are you aware of what load order is?

So, with CP content packs are loaded alphabetically, and if 2 mods try to edit the same asset or tilesheet, the mod that loads last will take precedence.
Magica Trees loads after Blue Grass Recolor, so it could be overriding any changes that BGR is trying to make.
I don't know for certain, though.

Yeah - those are specific tree-related actions, though, that should have been corrected since you got the Extra Trees mod.
yeah to be honest i dont think i mind that as an issue, just a bit peeved about the map recolor as a whole
can you try just load BGR with nothing else (keep CP and mods added by smapi), just to make sure BGR

Hey there. I have a question: Is there a mod or possibility (via console or something) to find out the exact name of a map I'm in? When using Lookup anything to find the spot for a certain fish I have way too many places that are not easy to identify and names are not always telling me exactly where to go. What would also be great is just an info about the current map Im in
Just an example, it would be really cool to get more details about the maps, the names are not clear enough to me 😄 Sometimes I know which mod its from but usually Im just running around and hoping to be in the right place ^^

Found it. Its PyTK. Command is "show_mapdata". Its ok to find it but would be better to have that ingame (like a popup that comes up when entering a map). Thank you though 🙂 Its writing hundreds of lines and at the end is the map name, so I try to remember what Im searching but its not the best QoL 😄 Is there not a single mod just for map information? Maybe someone else knows such a mod?

Question: I recently removed and replaced all the old Overhaul mods for MARGO and i think the Legendary fish pond Data folder is a left over from the old Aquarism mod. Should i remove it? I think it was mentioned that MARGO now has everything in it?

thanks for reporting it! as you saw, i was able to figure out that it's Ayeisha causing it by rendering an extra door on the highest map layer. i believe you may have seen her event at the mouse house on a rainy day, which causes the extra door to remain forever.

You didn't specify who is host and farmhand, but it seems like the problem is that your farmhand isn't loading properly. I don't see how MARGO could mess with that

(the map patch also displays in front of the farmer since it's on AlwaysFront, which isn't a very big problem but it looks odd if you visit the house before earning an achievement)

hey y'all. I'm switching my farm map, and i've noticed that the dog bowl is going to become clipped by the new cliff / landscape. I'm looking for it in the save file so i can change the x/y and put it somewhere visible (you can't pick-axe it and move it)... but i can't seem to find the key in the XML that has that entity. does anyone happen to know what it is?

Android SMAPI does not currently work for SDV 1.5.61. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
If you find a mod bug on Android, first make sure that:
a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
b) you have the latest mod version(s) or have the last-known Android-compatible version;
c) and the mod author hasn't already addressed it on the mod page (e.g. via an Android-specific version or comments).

tbh when I looked at that log a few days ago when I had time to see it but not respond, my exact thought was "bundle mod", but I didn't see a bundle mod in that log
And bundle mods affect a save even if you remove them, requiring a whole new save

Alright so I fixed it!
Found a similar issue online and felt knowledgable enough with XML to make the edits myself. I edited my save file and removed the "<item>" to "</item>" sections that were for the given key 36. Needed to do it for the <bundles> & <bundleRewards> & <bundleData> sections. This guy explains it pretty well!

If you want the whole extensive process:
We started having issues so we began the process of troubleshooting.
In the initial logs, it was giving us quest framework, east scarp, smapi and a few others errors.
We made our way removing each one, adding back just one to see if it was any of these specifically. It wasn't and these errors still occurred. (Most c# mods including Margo was on still)
Next, we turned off all the mods except for the ones smapi comes with. It did say the connection failed, but we used the invite code and it worked.
Then, we began to test each c# mod. We turned off a few, didn't work still, then the next batch included Margo. When we removed Margo, people were able to join and create characters successfully. We then added back every mod except Margo, and it worked still.
I was the host, I didn't have problems, but the farmhands were.
When I say it wasn't working, I mean that farmhands, when trying to join, would get that smapi error and be a ghost unable to move
We made sure our mods lined up, we didn't have any compatibility issues with any of the modules and other mods, we overwrote ftm sve, but it would still give us the issue
We would swap hosts. Whoever wasn't the host would have the bug
I don't know how margo could mess with the spawning in either. I just know that with it in, our games weren't working and when it wasn't in, it was

Hi! I'm having an issue where I'm using the multiple spouses mod in multiplayer, and every time my friend's spouse goes to bed, my entire game stops playing animations and the screen doesn't scroll. I can't open chests, my inventory, etc.

Hiiiiii! the Multiple Spouses Mod friend here with a funky little question. I don't have an error code since I guess it's not an error fsr? But ANYWAY.
We uninstalled Multiple Spouses and installed Free Love, and now my bed has weird collision (which is making my Spouse move when she's trying to sleep.) The bed extends 2 extra tiles on the right side despite being normal width, and has collision like a typical bed in that area.

that is.. strange. at this point i have to assume its some sort of issue with Looking For Love

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

I need someone's help. I downloaded an unofficial update for the Replanter mod because it's so helpful, but every time I start up my game, there's no config file. Am I doing something wrong?

Funny thing is that one unofficial update for Replanter actually worked. I press J and all my crops are harvested and replanted immediately. The only problem was that there was no config when there should've been one.

The window of the game tries to run but it stay at a black screen and then it crashes

Well, not much I can troubleshoot without a log, but I can say, by looking at your modlist, that some of those are not Android compatible.
Multiples Spouses is broken on PC so I doubt it would work for Android.
It was replaced by Free Love, which is not compatible right now.

Gotcha. So, RSV is a big mod for Android. it's going to cause lag, but I don't see any crash info here. Is this the first time you're trying to load in RSV?
It's going to take a while to load, and tbh, depending on your device, it may not work.
I can understand, but unfortunately, big mods like these were written for PC.

Give RSV time to load in - like a good chunk of time. If SDV crashes, then a new log could help show what caused it.

It means that they both try to edit the same assets, so Content Patcher says "nope."

If I go under the requirements they both list each other as optional, so why would they conflict
I don't know why the author put them under requirements - and typically optional is just that, but I would have hoped the author woud have explained that you could only have one or the other.
And mod conflicts are part of the modding world. You can only have certain types of edits once or they start overlapping.

(i don't play on mobile but i've dl'd mods before on my phone and it adds any png assets to my phto gallery. i just delete them but TBQH, i've no idea how mobile modding works so not sure if mobile players should do that.. )

I feel like I'm missing something, but something is making the bachelors skip their dialogue when I give them the mermaid pendent. It did it to a vanilla bachelor and a custom NPC. I thought maybe it was an SMAPI update issue, so rewound it down to 18.4, but it did it anyway. (Working on fixing the red errors atm)

Well she has the tutorial on Android modding and it helps for new players who want to mod. I think they can get an idea how it's done even if the video is outdated.
Just Delete the mod file from download file using file manager or z archiver.
If he delete those files then there will be errors on mods.

There's no will be error, because it's in the download folder.but if you delete the file from the data of your stardew valley mods there will be an error there
I made the mistake of deleting them once the png from gallery, and my mods started showing errors that's why I said not to delete them.

ive been trying to use the date night mod but it never triggered any dates, flirtier alex mod works but always say that it needs update and that im on 1.2.0 but when i go to the website and download "1.2.1" it downloads the exact same file
