The file it's trying to access is a game file - not a SMAPI file.
...\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Newtonsoft.dll is a game file
it wont work when i remove the file tho

Get Lookup Anything - it will tell you. With 4000+ SDV mods, it could be impossible to tell by that single screenshot alone.

I'm not sure what happened. This is what I recommend: verify the integrity of the game files (Steam or GOG), reboot your computer, then try running the SMAPI installer again.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

This is specific to a map patch, likely to add compat for SVE? The area the map is trying to patch doesn't match, size-wise.
You could try fixing it by going to that json file and changing the source map size to match the ToArea size.

I'm not sure, tbh. Looking at Stardrop's Github, you should be able to drag & drop a compressed mod folder directly into the grid.
I tried the strategy of copypasting the mod folder directly into the /Mods folder. Stardrop found the FTM one but not the CP one???
What was your naming convention for the CP folder?

I believe that feedback is helpful. If the stardop log isn't providing details as to why an action couldn't be performed, then if I were the dev, yes, I would want to know that.

Also - I've not heard a single report that Stardrop magically "loses" files, unlike Vortex. So win - win.

Hey, is there a workaround for the issue where key binds to change between the current and next/previous chests are not working with the Chests anywhere mod on SMAPI Android 1.5?
I'm on 1.5.6.39 and the latest SMAPI version from Zane's repo.
The mod doesn't throw errors upon loading, and I can only seem to switch between a handful of chests by saving on-spot with "save backup", exiting to title and loading into the save.
Chests Anywhere isn't fully compatible with Android, so it's not fully working, unfortunately

I'm experiencing a bug where I enchant my fishing rod with auto-hook but when I use it, it disenchants the item.

No, it doesn't - Flower Meads basically tells the game to make flower-specific mead, the mead add-on for BAGI and content packs for it (like the ones that refused to load) recolor the meads if that makes sense.

(Also, I think I made the BAGI packs in question. I updated the links to the mead add-on a while ago in the requirements. Not a great situation all around.)

One thing that's not really related to the problem: I don't personally use ES and ARV, but I think I've heard there's a version over on the ES server that doesn't need TMXL anymore, so you could get rid of that if you want.

If I remember correctly, it should have two configs you have to enable - "allow honey from trees" and "allow honey from non-flower trees" or something like that.

Oh, that's the one using Sprites in Detail... I think it's got a habit of kinda messing up things because it's scaled differently than other items (24x24 instead of 16x16). But yeah, simply adding a false dependency to Lux' mod should do the trick.

No reason to apologize. Looks like it's relatively modular and got a bunch of comments for easier navigation, so what I'd probably do in your case is simply delete the lines from the content.json you don't actually need. So, most crops have three patches for the "overworld" sprites, the item itself and the seeds - delete the item and packet sections for the ones you don't want.
(Also, use the JSON validator on SMAPI's website to check for errors - sometimes, you delete a comma without noticing and mess up the whole file. Not that I'm speaking from experience... cough.)

i found my mistake.... i accidentally deleted the dandelion and daffodil sprite while overseeing the line for the wild seeds which i now removed as well

Hmhm, that's related to Sprites in Detail, like I said earlier. I don't really have an idea how it works, but I know it resizes the entire spritesheet that contains items and is kind of error-prone because of that. I think it might work if the fish resprites load before Sprites in Detail does, but I'm absolutely not sure.

Honestly, I would strongly recommend either using only Lux's food or crop mods or not using them at all. They're known to break other mods because Sprites in Detail isn't designed for mix-and-match partial edits like that

You can change the appearance via several mods, but once you select the "type" of pet at farmer creation, you can only change that by editing save files (not recommended because you can break things)

Hey I have tried to google but with no luck, PFMAutomate is causing big stutters and frame skips in the late game I tried to look it up with the Nexus page but the Author doesn't seem to know either has the community worked out the issue?
Can you install Profiler? It will help determine which mod is causing it.
It's PFMAutomate- I suspected for a long time it was something attached to Automate but only once I turned PFMAutomate back on did the stutters return
It might have to do with those custom machines. What's your Automate tick interval set at?

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance. It is highly configurable and you can choose which options to enable.
The pixel resampling is just the surface of the mod - it is MAGIC for optimization
If you don't like the smooth look, you can turn it off.

You should be fine - a lot of players haven't updated to 3.18.5 because it breaks SpriteMaster, and no MARGO-specific issues have been brought up for 3.18.4, that I recall
Profiler is a great tool for troubleshooting, but you don't have to leave it installed all the time. It will add a ton of lines to your log.

You're lucky, then. Are you able to get to your ErrorLogs folder without going through Vortex? The log Vortex uploads lacks a lot of the granular detail needed for troubleshooting.

Hmm Custom NPCs Fixes removal broke some mods
You can edit their manifest.json to remove the dependency.
I assume something with Custom NPC fixes was built into SMAPI/CP?
Not really - what it did show though, is that out of everything, ContentPatcher takes the most time

I'm not seeing anything to indicate Automate or PFM. Can you try playing a couple of in-game hours, check your machines, chests, etc. harvest some crops, and then we can take a look?

if you have an updateticked that's more than 16ms that's likely your problem
I had them change it - they upped it to 600
And as far as I know, the only real way to get around it is to...rewrite parts of PFM and PFMAutomate to be faster

Silly question, but since I know whats at the root of my Lag, I went back an re-enabled Resourced Storage (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/17951) Is there any known issues with Better Chests or Better Crafting? (or maybe both) I notice some lag when I load the crafting menu

Hey folks, I have a problem with the Remapping mod. So according to the mod page, it is compatible with Cape Stardew and NPC MapLocations. Including having them both at once. However, when I add NPCML then Cape Stardew disappears from the map. I've seen the screenshot in the mod image gallery which shows both Cape and Locations working just fine, so clearly I'm doing something wrong here.

So my game was lagging to the point where my character wouldn’t move. I downloaded sprite master and it worked fine for a bit. But then went back to the lag. I got a former laptop with simular specs and the mods work just fine on that. (Minus the wait time)

There are a lot of options in the file. But - if you don't want the sampling - look for anything that has anything to do with retexturing, scaling, sampling, and change those to false

When you say "run base SMAPI" are you clicking directly on StardewModdingAPI.exe in the game folders?
No, I deactivate every mod in Stardrop and then run it through there. If I run SMAPI's .exe from the game file it'll load all my mods.
I could take out every mod physically and run it if needed

Yes, I use a separate config that has every mod deactivated.

elaborate on what happened
I hit a key to pause time and game was stuck in a state where I could move the mouse cursor but couldn't do anything. Time won't pass, pressing other keys or clicking does nothing, the only way out is closing the game. After doing a bit of testing, it seems to be a compatibility issue with Energy Time and TimeSpeed.
You need to grant access permissions for SMAPI to run.

It sounds like you're double-clicking GameFolderTestApp within the zip, it asks if you want to unzip it, and you say yes? That won't work, since it'll only unzip that specific file. You'll need to right-click the GameFolderTestApp.zip file you downloaded, choose extract, and then double-click the file within the new folder it unpacks.

I suggest starting from fresh:
- Uninstall the game.
- Delete the
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valleyfolder if it still exists. - Reinstall the game.
- Launch and then exit the game.
And then reinstall SMAPI:
- Download the latest version into a new folder.
- Unzip the download there.
- Double-click
install on Windows.batand see if the installer works for you now.

I'm experiencing an odd issue where small objects, like plants and teddy bears, flicker in and out of existence in modded locations like ridgeside village, and a couple of bushes near fences clip into the fences.

Remove Custom NPC Fixes - it's obsolete and can cause issues. If you have mods that show they're dependent, you can change that in their respective manifest.json files.

hmmm. It could be related to the missing Sterling, esp. if his schedule changed at 8 pm

Oh, I've heard reports that Dynamic Reflections + Dynamic Night Time can cause flickering, too. Tbh, you have a lot of "animated" mods - and that pulls down performance.
If you're really, really curious about what causes lag at specific times, install Profiler. You don't have to keep it installed, but it's very helpful for troubleshooting lag.

I trust the mod author of Death Tweaks, for one; Custom Death Penalty hasn't been updated since 2020. Death Tweaks may not have all the same functionality, but I just loved the idea of little tombstone chests.

Anyone here who's played on the latest Android build of SMAPI? I've been facing a couple of zoom-related issues:
- During cutscenes, the zoom level doesn't revert back to what I'd set it to after the cutscene ends.
- The phone from the "Mobile Phone" mod keeps changing position on-screen according to my zoom level, and it's quite inconvenient when the phone keeps hiding itself behind the Clock overlay due to zooming out.
Does anyone know a workaround for this?
I tried installing SMAPI using the autoinstaller and was able to run the game once but now I can no longer run the game with mods. I've tried reinstalling SMAPI several times but it isn't working. The window for the game opens but freezes on a blank screen. The base game exe still works fine.

did you click something on smapi console? if not, did it instantly crash?
I did not click on the console window, and it did not crash. It just hangs and eventually windows says that the program is not responding
try restart your pc?

I tried donating to the museum but the next day my donation disappears and gunther requires it to be re-donated. Although the reward i get from the donation do not disappear.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
You won't need tmxl and pytk.
Also medivial craftable cause the donations to disappear on my mobile idk if that's same for you.
And This mods aren't compatible with Android.

When i deleted pytk and tmxl the donation stayed in the museum, so maybe i'll just delete the skipped mods

Hey so i'm having this weird issue where smapi isn't detecting that I updated my mods and refuses to load them (I just spent like an hour updating every single mod that needed updating) anyone have suggestions please?
So far I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling smapi, checking the game to see if that needed updating and so far nothing has fixed it

Update on my situation:
Please people who have android 11 and above,if you have a third party app that gives you access to data don't ever clear the data of that app, because after you open it again it won't ever let you access it again due to new restrictions, don't fall for what happened to me now I can't ever mod my stardew with new things because the file "com.zane.StardewValley" can no longer be accessed because it's inside the data which is restricted

This is likely an issue with the mods themselves where they didn't update the version number in manifest. They should work fine anyway

Hey all! Hoping someone can help me with a tricky question tied to crab pots. Assuming with my many mods something got twisted and now fresh water crab pots only catch trash. Any idea how to investigate/edit in code? I also tried the better crab pot mod — which temp allows me to get the base crab pot fish but none of the mod content (ex more fish). Happy to share any and all info and appreciate if anyone has any idea how to fix!

hey yall, trying to remove all my mods so i can have ppl join my farm, asked around if it would be fine to just remove my mods and the general concensus was yes, but in doing so my game crashes when loading my save, i did back it up before trying anything fortunately but still wondering what i can do to fix this

you can't just start vanilla on a save that had modded data
at the very least you'll need SMAPI and Error Handler

Error Handler comes with SMAPI, btw
as in, you get it by installing SMAPI, it gets put in the Mods folder
