Did playing with mods ever work on your computer? Or are you trying for the first time?
but would those things make the game lag / perform poorly? i thought it might be the Unique Response Core suddenly searching through 40+ different responses

Hello! I'm pretty new the mods and I've veen struggling a litte. I've noticed this when I load up SMAPI but I dont know what to do about it. If anyone knows how to fix it please let me know!
Yes - all of those combined will contribute to lag/performance. You could try Spritemaster, but you would need to revert to SMAPI 3.18.4 for that to work

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

The pixel resampling is the book cover, so to speak...it is all the other "optimization" stuff that makes SM so amazing.

If you don't like it? But removing it will change your farmhouse layout.

thanks for the tip but im starting a new game fresh on PC, so ill just restart my save, im just wondering if that mod which is the seasonsal garden farmhouse mod, if you can edit the house so it doesnt look all crazy, or remove parts of it
The seasonal Garden Farmhouse mod is a full replacer - afaik you can't pick and choose which options you want

You need to install MissCoriel's Event Repeater, it's required for the Date Night mod.
yes I see it, but I don't know what interactions they refer to, I've passivley completed one empathy, and three dangerous creatures, and like a third of the money. But no matter what I gift, slay or how many NPC's I talk to or events I watch I can't seem to increase it much, other then one or two random wins throughout the seosons. Definetly one of my favorite mods but it's my first playthrough with it and it's a pretty big change from my usual routine😅

hi, i need some help ;-;
i seem to have encountered a problem after downloading and setting up the child to npc and the child age up mods
my son was named leo and after i downloaded this mod leo (the npc) now spawns in my house. ive tried everything that i could find help for online (changing names, messing around with mod config and all)bit it causes further problems
If the mods are removed, leo spawns, and my daughter is stuck in bed with my son roaming around
if the mods are reinstalled, my two children spawn in accordance to their new sprites from the child age up mod with speech and all but there's also a default sprite of my son stuck in bed, and in the menu with zero hearts.
Is there a way to fix this?

child to npc is deprecated, use littleNPCs instead
(and you can see one of the reasons WHY child2npc is deprecated, it dies a terrible death if you name a child the same name as an NPC)

In the game directory, there is a directory named "smapi-backups", which are backups of your save
ill look into it! and yeah, leo is still in my kids' room (´ . .̫ . `)
If that doesn't work, go to the location Leo is supposed to be and type debug wctm Leo (debug warp character to me)
might need to fix his DefaultMap though

You are missing dependencies: You need to download DaisyNiko's Tilesheets, Lumisteria's Tilesheets, Antisocial NPCs, and for SVE, you should redownload because not all of the files are there.

I don't know how that can be, since I've installed the mods necessary for MARGO while adding MARGO. What am I missing? Thank you for your time!

Did you by accident download the source code and not the compiled mod?
I installed SpriteMaster because I heard that it makes loading faster (it does!) I don't have the smoothing turned on at all, though. Sometimes I'm noticing that NPC sprites look blurry, though, is this something caused by SpriteMaster? I'll post a log if necessary, but this is my Kitchen Sink save with over 600 mods, so might be a lot to go through.
It could be caused by SM. There are a ton of config options if you open the config.toml, you should be able to play around with them to see if one fixes that.

Good luck - I'm looking at it now, thinking that anything having to do with resampling, retexturing, rescaling, color enhancement, etc. should be set to false
I'd turned off the resampling, but the scaler was still on, maybe that's it. I'll try it - it was happening randomly but often, so I should be able to tell pretty quickly. Thank you for your help!

Your log's not providing much to explain - I'm not seeing any errors. But you should remove Multiple Spouses and get Free Love instead. Same mod author, but Free Love is up-to-date and maintained.
- Every gift should increase Generosity, but it's meant to be completed by purchasing community upgrades
- Valor uses the word "eradicate" for a very specific reason. It's not a matter of simply killing monsters. You need to complete eradication goals.
- You don't need trial and error. You need to pick the option that sounds compassionate, honorable, wise, etc.
You probably downloaded the wrong file.
Read the instructions on the page before downloading.

so regarding the situation from yesterday @glacial tangle i installed SpriteMaster and it still crashed. I realised that when i load in i have a lot of pops near to my character. So i deleted the Extended Level mod and now it works again. Since i was kinda high level in my safe with using the level extender it seems like that cause the crash. My question is there any way to reset the level extender progress?
I'm not familiar with Level Extender tbh, can you post the mod page so I can take a look? I won't be able to do any testing till Thursday since I'm in office for two days.
i think it's still working, but you need to write commands inside smapi, or download Chat Commands suggested by the mod owner.
i was able to get to level 80 on mining by writing /lev mining 80
but not sure if this changes anything since the game max level is 10
SMAPI Custom Commands for Level Extender:
xp: will simply state your current XP at/past level 10. "NL" stands for XP required for the next level.
lev: Changes your level in specified skill to anything between 0 and 100. (Syntax: "lev <name_of_skill> <number_between_0_and_100>"Example: lev mining 72)
wm_toggle: This allows the toggling of monsters on and off (not caves). Default: false.
xp_m: This allows you to modify all experience tables after level 9 by a decimal value. Syntax: "xp_m <0.0 - ANY DECIMAL>" Example: xp_m 0.5 -> this would be half the normal rate.
spawn_modifier: This allows you to forcefully change monster spawn rate -> "spawn_modifier 0.01" is equivalent to 1%.
xp_table: Lists all of your skills current experience and the experience required for the next level.
set_xp: Changes your experience for the specified skill. (Syntax: "set_xp <name_of_skill> <number>" Example: set_xp mining 1000)
draw_bars: Sets whether the XP bars should be drawn or not: draw_bars <true OR false>, Default; true (Enabled).

there's an android specific version of smapi on github, but if youre on the newest version of mobile stardew smapi wont work at all afaik

Well that is a bit of an issue for me lol, I already completed almost every eradication goal and the main cutscenes. But thank you so much! I'll work on that then, and especially the community upgrades, that is huge, I would have been gifting forever. Do you know if recalling cutscenes (through the phone mod) will count towards this? I guess I should have gotten the quest earlier or midmaxed less my first year lol.

For stardew valley mobile
the mobile version is on par with pc now
there's no reason to use the older game version

That was the problem actually, the SMAPI Stardew valley that I installed on SMAPI installer keeps crashing. Like, as soon as I open it, it crashes. I have the 1.5.6 version of the base apk

Doesn't have an official download yet, there is unofficial patch but that doesn't work... so the best thing to do is wait for SDV 1.6 drops and hope for the a mobile release of SVE
You also need a good phone and Ram to run SVE.
Well that be but I ran SVE on 1.4 before and I was using a low budget android at that time , know I have a better android phone and know I can't do anything with SVE anyway I spoke with atravita on her mod page this patch was only an experiment but unfortunately she won't be won't be working on it, is what I gather from it .. in my behalf i hope she continues to fix it 🙏
The current SVE, I could play for a while but as I progress in the game it take much more space and crashes on me too. It is playable not perfect but it's the best we can get at the moment.

Sorry, I don't have much advice personally. Android SMAPI might be incompatible with one of your mods that edits the Community Center, or it could be an actual bug in one of the mods.

What should I press
SMAPI 3.18.0 raised deprecation levels to the final stage, meaning SMAPI will now show yellow warning dialogues for mods with deprecated code. For the user, this just means that the mods have old code and will break in SMAPI 4.0 if they are not updated - it is not anything to worry about at this time. (For mod authors, it's a not-nice warning to update your code already!

Is anyone able to help with my loading issues? I tried to load my save for 25 minutes and it was not responding. all of my mods are updated (everything except dam is reading the version number wrong, and that one I just updated) I did add some mods midway through a playthrough so I'm not sure if that's the issue or just that I have 476 mods? But I checked, my RAM usage is at 60 percent, everything else is low, graphics drivers are all up to date, spritemaster is installed, tried running without pytk in case that was messing with the loading time... no dice. The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

Tbh i'd recommend manual install or use stardrop mod manager. Installing smapi through vortex can be a hassle as it might break the installaton

Ah...gotcha. NPC Map locations can't find the maps for SVE or for RSV
You may want to redownload SVE and RSV. Also, get rid of Custom NPC Fixes, it's obsolete and no longer needed, but can cause problems

What does this error mean?
It means you're missing files

Honestly? The best way to ensure your file integrity is to just redownload them all. It's not an easy option, but...
check in apddata if vortex keep the og mod downloaded
Or do it in chunks
i.e. pick a chunk of 10 mods - compress those and move to a different folder. Add them 10 at a time and see if SMAPI yells at you

Try installing AntiSocial NPCs
Also - install Profiler - it will help you determine what's causing lag
I am definitely running on a clunker lol, but the game runs smooth as butter spring through fall. It only gets weird during winter.
And finally, you could install Spritemaster, since you're still running SMAPI 3.18.4. It will help load optimization.
If you don't like the pixel resampling - which is SM's default, you can turn that off.
Oh word! I tried Spritemaster before and didn't like the resampling, so thats something I'd be interested in.
SM is very configurable (if you know where you're looking...the config file is dense)

I know I had a couple from offsite of nexus (I installed via download history rather than paging through each individual mod's requirements, though stardrop says no missing requirements... and smapi says I only have 462! what the heccccc

And then search for that weird string - 0xE2 and see what pops up

I think I see the issue - it's with the Winter Broccoli crop.json
And possibly with the Napa_Cabbage crop.json as well as the Daikon crop.json
Open the Winter Broccoli crop.json and on the first three lines, the wrong quotation marks are used in front of "Winter."
This is the same thing with Napa Cabbage & Daikon, except for these ones, the wrong quotation marks are both in front of and at the end of "Vegetable" on line 5.
the whole thing is just borked by the sounds of it 
But these are easy, simple fixes, and I've committed to it now. 😄

Yeah - that happened when you were trying to config it in GMCM. Try reinstalling it. But also - get rid of Custom NPC fixes. It's obsolete and can cause issues.

You remove (or disable if you use a mod manager) (temporarily remove, move to another folder) half of your mods (sorted alphabetically). See if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't, put that half back and remove the other half. If it's just one mod, one of them should have it and it should work.
Keep the half that is not the offender. Now divide the half that is the cause of the problem in two. Have half of its mods enabled/installed, remove the other half.
Narrow down until you see what the problem mod is.

Usually its a compatibility issue between sprites
if you want to try my technique, I recommend also writing down which mods were the divides between halves in notepad or something so you don't get confused
(also it doesnt have to be exact halves, just approximately)

No, it always was the vanilla sprite of the pan. And did your copper pan solve by itself? Or did you remove the mod that modified the sprite?

just zip up the folder
then you can restore it by unzipping it back out just as it was

Yup you're right. It's my NPC Wearable Hats mod. So the mod works fine by itself, but if you try to gift a person you have already given a gift on the same day or even the whole week, the item becomes invisible with the description of "???". This includes NPCs that I've never given a hat before, and an NPC that is currently wearing a hat.
The weird thing is, it's either you are trying to gift the NPC a copper pan, or a hat, makes the item invisible with the description of "???". But any other item you would normally gift e.g. chocolate cake, is still intact. So I must've been holding the copper pan, accidentally gifting to someone, but I didn't pay attention until later that it was invisible.
So far, I was able to recover my copper pan buy just buying a new one from Willy. And threw away the invisible one since I cannot use it at all. Didn't have to reset my game.

Whenever I open a menu or when its dark (i.e. in a cave or at night) the screen flickers whitish yellow, sometimes with lines that make a triangle sort of shape if that makes sense. the F drive is because that error is showing the file paths of the mod author's computer, not yours. in any case, get rid of custom furniture as that appears to be the mod causing the problem

there's a SaveBackups mod auto-installed by SMAPI, you can find several backups in there

i think tbon didn't skip but rather got set back.. either way the auto backup of smapi might have misfired here and it could be worth trying to actually backup there? yet as said first i would load the _old save

but the _old file usually works wonders with loading errors
it might be a day older then your current save but looking into it and checking the difference often resolves even big issues

those zip folders contain full backups of your /saves folder so you can recover a lot from there

so youve got multiple copies of three mods installed: Custom NPC Exclusions, Expanded Preconditions Utility, and Extra Map Layers. If you read the smapi log it will list where each copy of these mods is located. youll need to find those and make it so that you only have one copy of each installed.
you can also remove pytk as it is now obsolete and kills your loading times

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
just the ones that list pytk as a dependency, the ones that arent related to it you dont have to worry about
