I'm not super familiar with smapi shortcuts for modgroups but generally you can only have 1 Mods folder
So if you redirect via the shortcuts you can only point it at one place
If you want more complex mod management schemes you might want to try Stardrop

You can try removing mods in chunks to see when it stops
Yeah I'll have to do that, that's what I've been doing, but it didn't work last night with this combination, but now I manually removed all other mods, so maybe the issue was with Stardrop or a corrupted folder or something. Thank you! I'll try and manually add folders again until the problem replicates :))

You can mod your multiplayer games, but to avoid any hiccups, all players' mod lists need to match. If players have too many mismatched mods, you will experience bugs in your game - even if the mods were working fine earlier, there is no guarantee that they will stay that way, and strange things may start occurring. There are a few exceptions to this - cosmetic mods usually work fine with no glitches, and some C# mods work as well. Mods often include information on whether or not they work in multiplayer in their descriptions. However, in general, your mod lists should match exactly.

@dim mortar - "similar" may not be enough to keep the game from crashing. Your log doesn't say why, unfortunately, so it's hard to troubleshoot.

You may need to reinstall RSV as well. Without the log it's hard to say if there is an underlying issue, but for some reason, the mods' DLLs aren't loading, which is critical.
When you "install" all the mods, do you unzip them?
Yes I use rar to unzip them to my mods folder and that's the only one that isn't working
Well, if SMAPI's not recording logs, then there might be other things going on, too. I can suggest two things:
- Check the mobile forums for issues similar to yours
2)Check out the bug-reporting / troubleshooting channels on the RSV server

its loading without errors but its just not... Working. Nothing is changed, there are no strays etc. I got the mail about strays and the bed is at Marnie's, but no strays. Everything has a default skin, and when I tried to manually change the skin it says they don't exist.
I know its pretty old and buggy but I know people are still using it. I think its a simple compatibility error... Somewhere in this mess.
I KNOW I had this problem last time I changed my mods and I cannot remember what fixed it and its driving me insane. I can even find where I asked last time, but no one knew and I must have fixed it myself 😂. Damnit.

That won't matter - because then the code will be trying to load instructions/assets for something that doesn't exist
The whole point is to add and remove the custom ones
If I take out the custom skins then it should just default to the normal ones.

Hi, I am having an issue that I cant seem to fix. The content pack "Stardew Valley Expanded Forage Locations" cannot be found and it suggested deleting the SpaceCore and FarmTypeManager mods and then re downloading it, but that hasnt seemed to fix the issue, and neither have updates. Does anyone know how I can get my expanded forage back? I miss my special items

No, you were right, I apologise.
Reverted back to my previous load out. It ran fine.
Put everything back in, then removed the mods I'd added in between load outs. Didn't work.
Then wiped everything, reinstalled SMAPI and loaded only Adopt N Skin and it just doesn't work.
Either I need to use an older version of SMAPI or just give up on it til someone updates it.
That makes me sad. I have such a cool collection of skins over the years too.

so what you can do is go into the folder of Bigger Backpack and find the picture for the inventory in the assets folder. you can then use an art program to make it match with earthy interface, then paste that over the original CC bundle interface from earthy
then save, then your grid should align with your items

To start off, try opening an existing portrait and changing the outfit. Start small: edit a shirt pattern, change a jacket collar, or remove a scarf and draw the clothes underneath. Ask for feedback too! The best way to improve is learning how to identify what's wrong and why, so then you can work out how to fix it.

SDV has a few quirks to remember too:
- Color limits: Limit the number of shades you use - stick to six including the outline.
- Hue shifts: Rather than making shadows and highlights lighter or darker versions of the base tone, SDV shifts the hue too. Eg. a base orange will have yellow highlights and red shadows. This goes for skintones too!
- Light source: SDV uses a top-right & slightly forward light source - check the vanilla art for reference.
Most importantly, don't hesitate to ask questions and get advice from people. Have fun!

since it was last updated in may 2020 theres a decent chance its just not compatible anymore - the game received a big update in late 2020 that made lots of mods not work anymore

The modded co-op playthrough got insanely laggy and buggy for the opposing side, but everything is normal for me

I'm guessing this is an AT pack? A) make sure you have Alternative Textures; B) You buy the paint can from Robin. Equip it and approach the building.

I have the Nyapu portraits in a folder with a dot before it, so I can easily drag & drop to replace the portraits after the NPC mods have been updated
Curious. Taking a shot in the dark here, but I wonder if the drag & drop caused the file to be "read" as hidden, which is why the active mod thinks the folder is empty?

So, one thing I've noticed about SDV is that parts of the code are really fragile. So if I'm making personal edits to a mod, I always make the edit and "save as." Overwriting can cause issues that I can't even explain.
so for example, in your case, I would open the Nyapu portrait I wanted, select "save as" and then literally choose the exact file path to Tristan's portrait.
there are at least 10 files, so it will take me a little bit to finish all that. thank you for the suggestion. 🤞

I haven't heard of either of those. I only know about Climates of Ferngill, which hasn't been updated since 2021, so I doubt it's compatible with Android

Looks like you have multiple copies -> one 'proper' in Mods folder and then most likely an accideantal one in a the RV mod's folder 'Mods\Ridgeside Village\Mods\AlternativeTextures'

If you just want SVE which expands outside of the farm map just add sve file in your mods folder. If you want grandpa's farm map alongside SVE I'd add that to your mod folder aswell.

Wouldn't be a mod to, smapi will use whatever terminal you have installed, assuming it's compatible. otoh, you can use whatever terminal you want.
Probably look up “flavor of Ubuntu that steam deck is” + “terminal aesthetic changes” or something

hey, so i have this happen to me? i can’t open my game and i don’t know what happened.
Try to check if your speakers are on too. I don't play with any sounds, so I always disable my internal speaker.
Whenever I play SDV w/ SMAPI, I always had to remember to enable it or connect to another source, else I get that message.
its because of how SAAT works/is a bug of SAAT
SAAT gets big sad if no audio—presumably it's so sad and doesn't understand why you have audio mod if no audio! 
Ok I am at my wits end, I tried to batch remove mods and the issue persisted, still the issue where the sprinklers don't work in the mornings.

If it still doesn’t work.
Try moving your save file to another folder. Fresh reinstall of both files again. Then start a new save file with just SMAPI.

Hi, so a couple of things. 1) Atracore is not compatible with mobile, so that and any mod depending on it will not work on mobile. 2) SDV Expanded by itself is not currently working on mobile, but there is a patch available on the SVE server.

So i got a deck and im trying to mod stardew, ive been fallowing this guide on the stardew wiki and got to the point where you downlod the SNAPL and slapped it in another folder that wasn't the game folder which is what the guide told me to do now it's telling me to run linux.sh and it's not running.

Then I think you've got an issue with your OS if you've set every permission. All I know is what I've googled, which tells me that the "Files and media" permission should be set to allow access.

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a Linux user. But - you installed SMAPI in a non-game folder location. Did you install SMAPI in this folder? ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew Valley
Thanks for the help but I figured it out, I just had to chill, have a cup of coffee, problem was that I had to run the file through the terminal which the wiki did not specify that at all besides just saying "just run it bro lol" but whatever.
I'm glad you figured it out! When you ran the install through the terminal, did you use steam-run ./install\ on\ Linux.sh ?
Idk I just kinda drag and dropped the file in the terminal and it asked some questions and it worked
I think the problem is mainly that Linux isn’t actually user friendly
Executing files = running files = something other OS does automatically but for some reason linux doesn’t
I was curious because I was trying to make sense of the wiki instructions, and for a non-Linux user, they're a little vague
You can do it fairly reasonably from command line iirc

tbh, I tend to believe that if you want to use Linux, you need to learn Linux first
skip "I want to mod the game", you need to learn Linux, otherwise you may find yourself in tears because it turns out some things in Linux can be dangerous

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
Hi, I'm trying to have a friend install smapi and stardrop. we did the last step properly and when pressing "play" on **steam **it launches smapi.
When opening stardrop, I don,t know what the path to enter is for the settings (note that this picture from my end, not my friend)

You need the full path name, not just the "F:\Stardew Valley" part

So wherever your friend dropped the SMAPI folder - they need to find it, then go to View -> Settings, then click the folder icon under SMAPI Path

so weird event, when my friend searched the path to fill SMAPI path(from picture), she found the stardew valley icon on the desktop that is ( i think) a redirect to steam launch. but it said fatal error when trying to select it

To my knowledge, FS is not currently compatible with Android SMAPI.
So, in order to get an older version working, you'd need an older version of SMAPI, which might break other mods you have, and then it snowballs to no mods working.
