any fixes for this still? random npcs on my friends pc was deleted and fine. + im somehow unable to load my load properly, when it did it said i didnt have error handler but my mods folder does have this installed. this issue was popping up when i would try to return to the farm in game after using the Map Teleporter.

You do not have smapi installed correctly

Usually that popup is coming out if u right click and run as admin
i turn of the permission something thats why it doesnt pop up in mine it automatically will accept

when u start smapi without administrator, u get error u need to run smapi as administrator, but when u start smapi as administrator u get a different error so weird

smapi just had a critical game crash fr scary😂 .
within game i was unable to leave the farm without the game disconnecting me from the co-op session. and when me and my friend where using the market day mod it completely glitched out while only I was in the town and crashed when i ran into pierres.

alright, i just checked and couldnt find the skins, imma just delete and reinstall to be safe with my mod manager this time, might of misplaced them when unzipping them normally

yes. we both use mod managers that allow separate profiles for different save files. we then were on vc installing them at the same time and kept a notepad between us of what mods we are enabling + confirmed on vc before booting up so dw

Your 8 GB is very likely to be 2 4 GB sticks - you’ll need to replace the RAM altogether
The technical term you need to look for is "soldered"

Hello all, I was trying out mods for PC and it was going well enough but I've hit a snag and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've installed smapi, but Vortex is not recognizing it and it keeps giving me "deployment failed" messages. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Portraiture does not require PyTK anymore
You'll need to put the DC Burger portraits inside the Portraiture folder
And when you start your save, just let it be for a while, don't click on it or touch anything
is this correct the portraits folder in the folder is from the DC Burger mod

Hey, so I went and did this again just to check, and it's definitely either mod or my own computer related, not the game apparently?

Since my last little check-in here, I've updated my graphics card drivers & optimized a few things better for gaming, including changing where SDV plays off of (it's like a setting I know I read about in the mod guide on the wiki, so I figured I'd do that too). The game, when modded, had still been closing after every day's save for the most part, which allowed me to move forward despite that divide by zero error happening post-save. But the last three times I've tried on Spring 16, it's closed itself due to the same error before the save happens, so. I'm not exactly sure why this is the case.
I'm going to go back in later and try again, but all I've been able to do is run with it whenever it DOES decide to save, and be frustrated when it DOESN'T.
I'll try troubleshooting again a little later today too, just to see what I can do to try to make the modding work like I know it should.

In that second log, there's a list of mods under "Patched game code". Can you re-add all your mods except those, see if the issue happens, and post a new log either way?

Honestly, this might just be a bug with Child2NPC and Child Age Up, so I'd remove them
Reason being is that the mod is failing to load Saorise's model
This basically means the game is trying to make your child exist visually, but has no data for how your child should look visually, so it breaks the game.

I have narrowed it down by checking what's editing Maps/Town and what's editing fall_town since you're in fall.
Yeah, I uninstalled them when it happened hoping to fix it, but it still wont load and i dont have a new log to upload for that 😦

Your game should still boot without Child Age Up and Child2NPC, at least to title screen. Their presence or lack thereof would not completely bone SMAPI
once the game crashed after i saved, even though i deleted both of those mods the game still wont start through steam or through Stardrop

i did like 4-5 times nothings working. I deinstalled SMAPI and all mods now and load them again
....how exactly are you installing the mods?
Context: You have a "SpaceCore 2" in your log which is likely the updated thing (though I have no idea why it's "spacecore 2"...), but that doesn't have manifest or content jsons
The same is true for AeroCore.

there is no error handler so it cant remove those npcs ig

Yeah if Market Day is gone from all, they need Error Handler

Public Access TV 2.0.0 because it's no longer compatible.
It used PlatoTK and I removed it, and added the IsRequired: False tag to the manifest.
I don't know why it isn't working if PyTK is not needed.

neither are doing anything. teh's fishing overhaul is bugged and i wonder if the core mode is conflicting with something in fishing info overlays? otherwise all ur mods seem fine to me

Regardless, Custom NPC Fixes would do nothing to your pet code
The problem is I had already put the Custom NPC in the folder and when I tried to enter the game, every time I started a day I would see the Marnie event where your pet shows you for the first time

The only way to delete mod is delete the mod folder you wanna uninstall. If the mod you delete is required by other mod, smapi will scream at you with red text. You can't know the mod you wanna delete is required by other unless you really know before

Right click the encrypted file and select Open With, then choose Keka. The unzipped file will appear as a folder. The folder will be named similarly to that of the zip file, but will no longer have the . zip extension.

i am using ModDrop, i have all my mods backed up. I got onto my other pc and i loaded up into mod drop and selected my loadout. These mods are not automatically downloading from backup already, i have to download them manually as i want to use them (so all the mods in this load out show up and say i need to download them) and it gives me links to all my nexus mods instead of downloading them automatically. It is having me click each link, then download via modloader like i did when i first ever got mod drop. I already have my nexus mod loader api key in mod drop, hence how i can download via mod loader anyway.
But is there a way where it was automatically download them all for me like it already does for mods on moddrop?
I can just click all the links and click download 3 times on every mod like nexus makes me do, but theres over a hundred mods and every one takes multiple clicks and 5 seconds of slow download time.
don't you have an usb drive or something? 
or you could zip up your mods folder and upload them to some sort of cloud storage?

Only exception is if you're only running the base three mods, in which case Error Handler will delete all prior content from your save, and sleeping will fully remove it

if you open a vanilla world with mods, mods are applied to the save. Unless they're cosmetic or dialogue, in which case they're not permanent data, saving will convert a vanilla save to modded and it will no longer be loadable in vanilla
Which is why you make sure you don't sleep when opening a vanilla world with mods
you can load it, and the mods will be applied
But none of that will save until you sleep (and therefore save the game).

Okay I went and did this (and forgot to remove some after the dependencies for them were removed, so I realize that's why those at least are listed as skipped or errors in the log), and I didn't have the divide by zero error on the trail farm file either after doing this. I think maybe some of the patched mods from earlier before I removed them might be partially the cause of said divide by zero error. I just don't know which one(s).

the log knows its on android and it knows it doesnt have error handler but it cant connect the dots and understand there is no error handler weird

Hey guys, it´s me again with the weird looking cc (here´s the log again if you need it: https://smapi.io/log/f94aa3b8a7894ab68059d90d1bc446b6 ) So I postet a bug report for little red schoolhouse, the author replied that they were not able to recreate the issue. So it must be an incompatibility thing I guess but I can´t find out what mod is incompatible with lrs in that way. I tried removing TMXL, treehouse, East Scarp, Jessie and Juliet, A pelican town and vibrant pastoral recolor, I also tried reinstalling lrs and tmxl, nothing helped. So... yeah I guess I need help again :/

hi, kinda new to modding on the mac. i really want to download sdv expanded but everytime i do, something goes wrong with the “grandpa’s farm” mod. i also tried looking for many videos for help, but they all work for pcs, which is very different from mac (obviously). please do help when anyone gets the chance, thank you!

Hi, I encountered a weird bug that doesn't exist in vanilla, but I use a lot of mods so I have no idea what caused it and I'm curious if someone has heard about this bug before. When I use any type of totem, If I click it to teleport to the destination and immediately click on another box at the toolbar, I lose the item I clicked on instead of the consumed totem. I lost my golden scythe because of this bug and thought I've gone crazy until I realized the same bug made me lost my pickaxe...
i moved to my linux workspace right now and tried setting up SMAPI but my console does not seem to be opening?
though SMAPI is loading and I have 4mods loaded (3 and 1 including my own)
nevermind (solved by adding gnome-terminal -- to the start of my launch option)

Wow! It was actually it! but then the expansion mod of "Durin's rest" cannot run without it. Any idea where this bug can be reported?

Your Mods folder should be in your game folder after you install SMAPI. See here for more information on finding it: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Find_your_game_folder
If you use Steam, you can also right click on the game name > Manage > Browse Local Files.

Hello everyone, I seem to have encountered some trouble with either BFAV or Eemie's Animals for BFAV.
Basically what happens is, when I try to buy a turkey from Marnie, it says its a turkey, the prompt at the top while buying it says its a white/brown turkey, but when it grows up, its a regular chicken. I have downloaded a bunch of other animal mods, but i havent gotten to try those yet, this was the first and already there is a problem. There are no errors in smapi while starting the game, everything runs fine, but the animal just rewerts to a basic hicken. Im sorry if this was talked about before, I just got here 😇 does anyone know how to fix this?
BFAV is a bit buggy
and no one is trying to fix it or replace it, because the next game update makes it not needed to add new animals

nah, BFAV animals tend to sometimes revert to other animals

I like thinking about possible problems
(For save safety, BFAV reverts custom animals to white chickens or white cows just before saving, and restores them on load. For some reason, this sometimes doesn't work right, most commonly on macs.)
(AND it's hard to figure out what the heck is up with BFAV's permissions at this point, AND 1.6 handles animals, AND fixing it would require going through the decompile for BFAV because no one knows what the heck this chain of unofficials has ended up with, so, realistically, it's not getting fixed.)
If you know C#, feel free to take a crack at it.
Well, thats mildly infuriating
I am nowhere near competent enough to fix something that way... so no fixing it until the next game update is out... i just hope thats sooner rather than later
