so, as I was copying my LO for stardew into stardrop, it kept sending a popup for something about smapi.txt or whatever

So @spring hull , you've got a pretty heavy mod load. Many of your mods do a lot of heavy lifting which is slowing down the game; you've also got some older mods that may not follow best practices. Your best bet it to make sure everything is up to date, and then prune your mod list a bit if you're willing to. Installing Spritemaster may also help (you can turn off the cosmetic stuff- it does a lot under the hood to speed up your game).

so what i did was trying to be smart ass by replacing names Content (unpacked) and Content so shane gets the model that i want while keeping other stuff that i needd (i thought all the files where the same the unpacked and normal)

Content (unpacked) is full of files in formats that the game can't read
So you can't just swap em
i saw normal content have 5 and unpacked have like 8 or smth but i didnt mind it do you think if i changed the png in content with mine it would work

otherwise, you'll need to toss the mod
The game reads .xnb files, not PNG. Unpacking turns the xnb files into PNG files. Game doesn't speak .PNG. Also don't directly edit your files, it breaks things

Verifying your game files through steam should keep them intact
Now that you've run SMAPI, that file should be in place. Stardrop was complaining that it wasn't there. Can you repeat what you did to get that error?
I was just downloading the mods from my lo and it would pop up with each one, before the alert saying tha the mod downloaded successfully
Is it still popping up when you download something? Running SMAPI should have given it the file it was looking for and cleared it up.

Spritemaster may speed up your game enough to compensate (you can turn off the aesthetic stuff- it does a lot under the hood). The author of spacecore is a bit busy, so I won't speak for her on when an update is coming.
Most mods that don't add items/characters/etc are safe to uninstall from an active save. You could check to see if that's the case for your desired mod and give it a try!
tbh, I've still been using a very old verison of spcecore, but from what I understand the slowdown thing is new?

It's best to! If you're ever having issues, updating may fix them!
If you run into a bug you should update then, but if things work swimmingly you don't have to bother.

We're worried that your game files themselves are damaged, since none of those mods are known to cause this problem. Doing a quick reset using the instructions above may fix the problem.

@gray bloom It seems like certain mods add crafting recipes that count toward perfection, so if you like, this might show you which ones are messed up.

- load the save with the issue
- type
~testin the SMAPI console (copy-paste it from here if needed)
It'll run through theData/CraftingRecipeslist and show you the %, # of crafted/total recipes, and which ones you're supposedly missing.

If you go into the folder of the mod (seasonal portraits>assets) you should see some .PNG files. Just swap em out for the new ones!

At the end of the process, there should be the same number of .png files as you started with in the destination mod folder, all with the same names. If they don't match exactly, things break.

Whatever portraits you want to see in game are going in and overwriting the old ones in the assets folder. I'm not familiar enough with this author's work to know the mods by title.

I don't think ridgeside is doing it. We would have heard a LOT more complaining by now.
It takes more work for the modder, but then users can just plop mods in the mods folder without worrying about doing this song and dance. It's great for recolour compat too!

How would I go about editing just an event timer for a modded event? I’d like the event to not be time locked to year 4 (friendship req is fine) but I’m not sure which folder it’s in (mod uses ccrm, cp, ja, pfm, qf, saat, stf)

So....JA should be basically doing nothing if you have none of its asset packs installed. Can you try keeping RSV uninstalled but, say, install some random JA cooking pack (like, Sushis or something)

I'm honestly not sure. After talking with atra earlier, I think it's probably the list of "items players have sold directly to shops" having missing items in it. I guess it could be due to removing JA packs after selling their custom items to a store?
Beyond that, it's possible that custom NPCs that have unusual behavior could disappear at weird times, but I couldn't reproduce anything with them yet
(JA has remove nulls code there.)
(I did have questions, since JA no longer runs the deshuffle code every launch though.)
yeah, I'm not really familiar with how that's handled in JA, it's just the only source of "null" I can guarantee at this point
I did some brute force testing with SVE and such to see if "random town NPC" would have issues with Claire/Martin in the theater and such, but it does null check and reroll
I'm having a similar issue, but I don't think it fits the profile of removing mods after selling them to a store
tbh, with things like this, I'm not convinced random mods can't just derp and put a null somewhere
there was also a string of issues with SOMEONE putting a null in GameLocation.characters
and SOMEONE kept putting a null in the quest log
I'm getting tempted to put the transpiler back in and do the 1.6 null checks myself

If you need someone to help test the fix, I volunteer. It's happened to me three times - each time I removed the mod I thought was responsible and each time it happened again later. Always at end of day. sigh

Roger that. When you say " a bunch of items", do you mean different items or 1 large stack?
stack size counts too, so iirc it's a 4% chance for each item sold

I think it's about the same; the custom dialog shows up very quickly when I sell a few 999 stacks created with SMAPI commands

@safe shuttle Alright, I managed to reproduce the shop errors, and the fix seems to be working (regardless of whatever's causing it). Let me know if you happen to see UpdateShopPlayerItemInventory errors overnight, or issues with the shop menus and such. There should be messages like this in the log, if it finds anything:

If you have SDVE installed, you can set the tidepools to walkable in the settings

Issue 1: The image below is a screenshot taken from my game. I'm not sure what the tiny building in the top-left corner of my screen is, but it won't go away. I'm not sure when it started, I've only noticed as of an hour of playing into the Winter season. I don't have a clue of which mod could be causing this image to appear, however, it doesn't appear to affect my game in a negative way. I just hate seeing it out of the corner of my eye.
Issue 2: My second issue didn't click (into my head) as of recently. I've been incubating chickens, ducks, and void chickens to fill my deluxe coops throughout the Winter. However, I slowly noticed that after the incubation was completed, I would name the animal and count how many I have currently. It always seemed as though the number was off even though I was incubating numerous eggs for what seemed in-game week(s). For example, I recently obtained a void egg. I popped it into an incubator and got my first one. No problems there. But, as I incubated the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th - I came to the realization that I still only had two within the coop.

Currently in the process of trying a different recolor mod to see if it's what's causing the issue (since I have so many mods it takes a while to load rip)

Yup. Whatever your expansions folder is, I would delete it as nothing in it is loading. You'd just need to re-acquire Balanced Better Mixed Seeds, Ellie LWW as RomRas replacement, Immersive Unique Children Talk, Krobus Dialogue Expansion Pack, Morris of Jojo Mart, Sandy Portrait- altered bangs, SVE Victor Portrait, and "The Shack Redesign" whatever that is
otherwise you're missing several dependencies (Custom Companions, Farmhouse Fixes, Content Code, Solid Foundations, Bush Bloom Mod, Custom Fixed Dialogue, and if you're planning on getting the characters RSV and Stray Catfe)

I don't know... I mean i right-click and then extract everything, as I did so far... But now it gives problems...
The issue is "path too long", which leads me to think you're extracting it not using Windows' built in tool
Mainly because that implies your folder name is "Stardew Valley Expanded <lots of numbers>"
When it should just be Stardew Valley expanded
So what do I do...
make it shorter

go inside the folder with numbers and move out the folder that's in there

But like mid way through the day suddenly my gane gets all weird and laggy, all the audios get some Robotc sorta errrrrr jn the background and it becomes hard to play. anyone know what to do?

looks like you've downloaded the ppja full pack plus the individual packs seperately at some point
yea i just noticed lol, didnt know the mega pack had all of them already, nexus just said i needed it for the one specific one i wanted to work
some mods compatible with that pack sometimes say if you dont want the full pack then you just need blank and blank so be extra observant of the instructions for each mod 🙂

The error seems to say your new farm animal was created without a Sprite (basically, the images it uses), so I'd guess it's a problem with a mod that changes animal sprites or animal stuff in general (new animals, building types, etc). You may also want to download these requirements for Fresh Meat, though I don't know if that's related:

I'm still trying to figure out this glow issue. It looks like there's pixels over the glow effect, but it only happens on torches and the wall lamps in the mines. I have 300+ mods installed so disabling them one by one would be a huge pain, so I'm just trying to pinpoint where the glow sprite is so I can look for files touching it.
It only effects the pulsing glow of torches/mine lamps. Static glows like the glow rings are unaffected.

^ if fresh game files don't help, I think that specific light texture should be sconceLight, so you could try patch export LooseSprites/Lighting/sconceLight to output a copy and check for the pixels on it
(also here's the rest of them, if needed)
just download the latest version from smapi.io (or Nexus, etc) and install it again; it doesn't require removal first

Thanks! I just reverified and checked again, but the pixels are still there. Ran the game fully vanilla too and there's no issue, its only happening when running with my mods
I'm not sure which mod would save over the general light textures, but that does seem like it's happening

complitety unrelated but i would suggest removing pytk and custom farming redux
pytk isn't needed anymore, and it would improve your loading times tremendously

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

And then run the game with StardewModdingAPI, make sure you added launch options.

I didnt know Walk of Life got depricated. I've been away for too long it seems. Lunar Disturbances just adds some effects on crops and stuff with the moon phases

but I would remove from your mods folder
WoL is no longer available for download so you literally can't get it anymore
scrolling through all of those Cursors editors (not Cursors2) and checking their assets folder should let you spot the one with artifacts on the light sprite

I'm curious how they messed up the glow. And thank you for that sprite sheet! I was just gonna pull the vanilla one and update my own but that saves the headache
the pack is a port of an old XNB mod, I think, so they may not have caused it themselves, or there may have been weird file corruption somewhere down the line

MonikerBandit.BYAGreenhouse.MicroGH's warp is bugged
Which makes sense if you were previously in the Community Center, because that would mean it's not your greenhouse, which means it's not a Custom_ prefixed map
meaning it's either old (bad) or broken (ALSO bad)
The most recent time, I exited the micro greenhouse and never got out of the loading screen
....and it's with SF so I'm guessing there's a better way to add it
means the warp out is bugged.
either way, that particular mod (build you a greenhouse) appears to be bugged.

Nope still erroring
It's failing to edit some code for trees/coconuts correctly at launch. I'd guess it's an incompatibility issue with another mod that changes the same tree code, but it's hard to say. Worth reporting to the author, though maybe somebody knows how to fix it. 
(Also, updating UI Info Suite 2 should fix the other warnings)
Oh, it might be conflicting with the Tapper's Dream mod. I think that's the only other mod that should be affecting trees.
Seems like the only likely one, unless Solid Foundations' tree pack edits real ones for some reason

Oh, I think this is a leftover part of Walk of Life, or other pre-MARGO mods? It might be trying to do the same thing and conflicting

Removing that & maybe updating SpaceCore again could help; I don't see many other mods that mess with that Tree.shake code

would the way back pelican town mod affect the stardew realty mod - it seems like the stardew realty is a bit glitchy and temperamental lol it was working yesterday, then i added the pelican town mod and poof sdv realty is gone.
Looks like it was Immersive Tweaks that was the problem. Thanks for all your help!


Way Back seems to only affect textures, so it shouldn't make functional mods stop working

You could try removing Stack Split Redux, since that had the first error and is item-related. All of those errors seem to be different mods finding blank/corrupt items somewhere, so it may or may not be that specific one. I'm not really familiar with fixing them beyond that, though. 
I will try this, but it is a common error that I've been getting for a while and up until recently my game has been crashing on save for my farmhand.
I don't crash as the host, but the farmhand does.
I probably should've mentioned this log is from a farmhand that is connected to my game in the original post, sorry about that.
We both have the same exact mods loaded though.
Realty does seem to have an error while setting up. I'd probably recommend reporting it to the author, since they seem active: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/10512?tab=posts
You should also remove PyTK, according to the usual mod support folks. (It probably won't fix this issue, but it runs faster.) Beyond that, you could try removing Way Back or other mods to see if something fixes the issue.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

Thanks for the info. Updating SpaceCore might help, since it is used by item frameworks/safety stuff like JA, if either of you haven't yet. The mods that failed to load (the red "ERROR SMAPI" part below the mod list) might also be relevant, though none of them stand out at a glance. Beyond that, someone else might know about fixing save data or some such...enough mods are erroring that there might be a broken item saved somewhere, if I had to guess.
I'd also double-check for differences in logs between you and your farmhand, e.g. an item-related mod that isn't loading for some reason, since that can cause very weird errors
omg the mod came back - i am feeling like it's just glitchy. I will message on the mod authors page and see if they know what could be causing it to disappear and reappear
I actually just did that and same amount mods/content packs have been loaded on both sides, should be good there, but now I'm reviewing trying to think of what could be causing a broken item save.
I do have some mods that inject items, but I don't think we've obtained any, and the mods that are erroring we haven't interacted with other than the ones you don't really have a choice that are core.
And none of them offer items, other than Modular Gameplay Overhaul, and Animal Husbandry.
Surprising that Horse Overhaul is throwing an error and we don't have any horses yet lol.

Oh also, the mods that failed to load are just mods that I disabled and when you disable a mod in mod organizer it leaves the folder in the overwrite directory so until you delete the folders it'll throw those errors.
