When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. Has anyone else had Stardrop mod manager suddenly forget all of their profiles except for default? I think that just happened to me and the "default" profile is not my actual default mod profile, it's a super cheaty profile I made just for designing and decorating.

I tried modding a while back, and gave up after it didnt appeal to me, but now I'm not sure how to remove the bugged modded items from my save and for some reason I guess I used my main save for modding

@tired brook CJB Item Spawner have a different UI in Android showing only one item, I have seen in the post section in nexus that you are requesting some Android testers and maybe, if you want, I can be an Android tester if you need it 😄
Maybe try this: re-use smapi and the framework you used to add the modded items with (i.e json assets or DGA) and use the smapi console command to see all listed items, it may show the glitched item
You could then try and open the chest, if you have the framework installed to trash the item or if that doesn't work try throwing it into water and see if that 'deletes' the item
Im using daisyniko's recolor- sometimes, my hoed dirt does this. First is watered, second is unwatered. It goes away if I flatten it and re-hoe, only does it on unplanted, hoed squares and only sometimes.

Hello, I'm playing local co-op with my girlfriend but mods such as chests anywhere and lookup anything only show up on her screen. I can use my own controller to use the mod, but they open up on her screen only and I can't use them at all. Is there a way to fix that?

ok so i got my obs to pick up the game with game capture finally but my stardew actually crashed just before the title screen which is crazy bc i know smapi exists to try to prevent that, its never happened to me before. i wasnt even streaming, just had obs open to see if the game would show up in the preview window.

You should do what the Governor said and reset your content files.
put them back to vanilla. When you reset your content files, you do not get rid of the mods in your mods folder
if the mods were put into the content folder, then they will be (justifiably) removed.

In case anyone has this same issue, I fixed it by using the generic mod config menu. The mods use keyboard keys and since the host screen is the one that has the keyboard, the mod screens would appear there only. With the generic mod config menu you can change the keys to non keyboard ones (for example, I used R1 to open up the lookup anything mod)

You having Portraiture and them not... probably caused the disconnect that wasn't a disconnect that erronenously made you at Day 0

Content Patcher furniture replaces vanilla ones, Alternative Textures lets you change vanilla furniture into different designs at will, Dynamic Game Assets adds in new ones
Custom Furniture mods should be avoided as its outdated

the reason I asked about vortex is that someone recently installed it for a different game without realizing that it automatically claims any mods on your computer with nexus update keys

The outdated mod is just a content patcher mod for portraits, it's not actually outdated.

Removed all those mods and the crash was fixed. Looks like somehow I missed going up a farm level on the last night since this time farming level up showed up. So one of these mods adds a recipe on farm level up that's not working. Thanks for helping me get this far. Now gonna add back one by one until it happens again and let the author know.

frankly at this point with hidef portraits you either manually convert them to HDPortraits or use Portraiture

Hello I finally decided to add automate to my game. The thing is I want to disable everything except for certain machines. For example crabpots and chest as the container. no, i made that same mistake - you do need to add the vanilla mead icons file, or nothing happens :P plus if you want the forageable flower (sweet pea, crocus etc.) mead to also have icons, you should add the "Wrong mead icons" mod too, assuming you have a mod that lets you make honey from them
Yes it seems that you can only disable shipping bins, however you can disable specific chests. That way for example you can use a furnace with a chest next to it and it won't use start smelting the items in the chest
I was planning to do that but I already have a lot of chests 🥲 I'ts gonna be hard disabling them one by one
Remember, you don't have to use the disable machine's to just not automate them. But I do understand the pain

i mean, if you open a heavily modded save with a lighter mod loadout there will be consequences (such as items and characters from those mods being removed). of course that will only become permanent if you save the game after doing that. as long as youre careful about which saves youre loading you should be fine

It's not that SMAPI complains per se.
It's that when you reinstall SMAPI the installer will ALWAYS put the mods back directly in the Mods/ folder
so if you forgot you moved stuff around you need to do it again

Hello, I have a quite-possibly-stupid question: First time modding, downloaded all the things it said I needed for it to work in my game. After downloading and unzipping, moved the file folders into mod folder. Did I do what I was supposed to, or should I move the actual files into the mod folder?

You'll see your save file, your savegameinfo, and two files that are the save file and savegameinfo but with _old at the end of them
delete the save file and savegameinfo, then rename the ones with _old to not have _old
This will revert your save file by a single in-game day, done properly.
I did. First time, did it all before I even started the game. Went in game, started a new game, (so to choose a different spouse), no changes. Restarted computer, started the new game again, still no change.

In general, your old files should not be corrupt. Your new ones could be, but the _old ones shouldn't be corrupt since they worked the previous day.

Think it might have to do with the greenhouse sprinkers mod - if Kemper just upgraded the greenhouse’s sprinklers and it visually disappeared that seems like the cause

In short, it seems that SAAT isn't running properly for me, and keeping it in my mods folder won't allow me to boot the game up, but I'm able to run it with it removed
question: do you currently have any audio output on your computer, ie speakers or headphones
Oooh I didn't when I booted it up, but I have headphone connected now
SAAT doesnt like it if you dont have an audio output, so try that and see if it works

Hey! I just redownloaded Stardew Valley Expanded and i'm having issues with it. The Smapi running page says I don't have the custom npc mod, even though I do, and when I try to leave my house it crashes. I downloaded all the necessary mods for it to work, but it just isn't. Anyone know what might be happening?

Does anyone here have experience with using SMAPI on the Steam Deck? I followed all the instructions on here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Steam_Deck and everything is working wonderfully except after the game loads in (with mods) and I go to New and select OK, the game crashes. My biggest issue is that I cannot for the life of me find my SMAPI log. I have searched everywhere I can think of and tried a general search and I can't find one if there is one. I should also add that I use Stardrop on my desktop and attempted playing with the same mods and didn't have any issues.

When I followed the instructions on the Stardew Valley Wiki, it said to look under game info and find which it said it was running and it said Proton (although that might be because I did attempt this once before and maybe made a change that affected that...)

looks like one of the files vanished somehow, id suggest doing a fresh install of sve
so, delete the entire sve folder and install it again (dont worry, your save will be fine)

but this is general advice for Proton. Steam installs your fake C drives here: ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/(ID number of the game)/pfx/drive_c/
from there you can find your files\folders such as appdata

If your game is crashing walking near your fish ponds, it's likely you have had a JSON shuffle within your fish ponds. There are two different ways to fix this:
Install Warp Snitch (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9087), fish everything out of your pond, reset the pond, and put a base game fish in your pond, then save. You will lose your fish in your pond, but not your fish ponds.
Type world_clear current fishponds (or world_clear current fishpond ) while on the farm. This will instantly fix the issue - by deleting your fish ponds from your game. You will have to build new ones.
you can try to see if reinstalling sve fixes it as that's probably? what caused the problem

Can someone tell me if I can solve this issue without having to reinstall smapi? I ran my error log through smapi.io and it told me "You don't have the Error Handler mod installed. This automatically prevents many game or mod errors. You can reinstall SMAPI to re-add it." But I do have it installed, I haven't moved it or touched it since downloading. Is there any other way to fix this?
reinstalling smapi won't make you lose your mods or your save
5 internet points says you installed SMAPI with the mods in a different place than where it's pulling the mods from if you see Error Handler but the log says you don't have it

i should mention this only happened recently, game was working fine before
All of you should verify your game files first. If that doesn't work, disable IridiumToolsPatch and ModUpdater, then try again.
Your game is crashing on choosing a nightly farm event, which shouldn't happen with the mods you have installed.

This is likely something to do with Stardrop, which I'm not an expert on. I can tell you this - SMAPI is not even reaching the stage to properly identify that you have any mods, let alone Error Handler. I'm not certain if this is because the filepath length you have by organizing the mods is causing an issue or something similar, but it's probably the case of Stardrop plus filepath length equals bad
Ok I am at a loss for this issue so I'm gonna call it a night and try again tomorrow. I'd appreciate it if anyone has any ideas, but no worries if not!

It's strange, I moved them all the mods folder with no other folders (made by me anyway) and i still got the same error once I launched the game and I ran it through smapi.io. I usually launch through Stardrop, but I tried launching it through Steam (I made no other changes) and it does launch the game, but I think only the default profile I have saved in Stardrop which is too bad, because that isn't actually my default game, but at least something loads?

There are a couple possibilities. In order from biggest possibility to smallest:
- Raised Garden Beds is directly editing TileSheets/furniture
23:36:42 TRACE SMAPI Furniture Adjustment (from Mods\FurnitureAdjustment\FurnitureAdjustment.dll)...is a C# mod, possibly also affecting it- Alterative Textures is bugging out/you're using the randomized texture feature
So first disable raised Garden Beds. If that doesn't fix it, re-enable it, disable furniture adjustment. if that still doesn't work, re-enable furniture adjustment and check your AT settings

To actually confirm whether something is using AT or not, you have to buy the paint bucket from Robin, then use the paint bucket on your furniture

Im using daisyniko's recolor- sometimes, my hoed dirt does this. First is watered, second is unwatered. It goes away if I flatten it and re-hoe, only does it on unplanted, hoed squares and only sometimes.

There shouldn't be a reason for lag based on the mods you have, however if the game is left on for long periods of time it can start lagging
Also the smoothing effect of spritemaster can be turned off in the configs (or by pressing f11 - changeable to another quick key)
Is it a specific type of plant that this occurs or is it just those specific dirt locations no matter what is planted?
So I've noticed that you have no soil decay and immersive sprinklers, could it be immersive sprinklers choosing to not water there?
hi! playing in multiplayer and both of our games have this strange blocky look to them. his has been doing it the whole time we've played, mine just started doing it when the season changed to winter.

also i don’t believe the out of date mods are the problem. when we started this save all mods were up to date and we had this same issue
Have you tried removing spritemaster to troubleshoot first?
i disabled it but did not entirely remove it. just disabled it in config but i’ll try removing it to see if that fixes it
