it may be because there was a modded piece of furniture in my house that I've removed (the errors that is)
so it was a null item
So seems like fairydew or romantic furniture is the culprit
I'll enable one of them again and retry
tbh, I would just disable DGA, play one day (this will remove every DGA item from your save) and re-enable
trying to figure out exactly which piece of furniture is fucked can be annoying
took my game from taking a full 3 minutes to load to about 30s ๐๐ป
now to play a day and see if anything is broken....
I can live without fairydew, and romantic furniture ran past 7pm just fine
so I will just kill the fairydew mod
Not sure what I had PyTK installed for before, but nothing seems broken so far....
I have all the big expansion mods installed, RSV, SVE, Scarp, Lunna.....why the heck did I installed PyTK before

it is safe but your furniture and other items will be in the same place, meaning they may show up in a wall or the void, best to pick it all up and store them in a safe place before making the switch

If finding a log is too confusing and you're able to load your save, you can install the In-Game SMAPI Log Uploader to get the log without having to search through the files. Getting the log's the simple thing to do, and assuming you can't find it the usual way, we'll get it by that mod. Then we can figure out what's up, rather than running in circles XD

ok so I'm using a recolor mod and a reshade mod... and for some reason the in game screenshot doesn't reflect what I see on the screen anymore, but if I do a print screen it looks like what I'm seeing on screen... I have no errors in smapi. Does anyone know how to fix this? Can send pics in dms if anyone wants to see the difference..

question: I am using the mod CE Spouse rooms to empty the spouse room so I can reorganise it, this is the current room but as you can see the parrot entity has stayed even though the cage has moved. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this. Up until now I have just put furniture in front of it lmao

deleted all the mods that use dga, it got past 7pm on that particular day then started freezing at 11:10am on the next day

when i run install linux on my steam deck all that happens is that it asks what i want to do, when i press execute nothing runs

Yep. The files should be directly inside your game folder (with no MinimalLauncher folder between them).

So the issue still happened with the minimal launcher? Seems it isn't due to something SMAPI itself is doing then; that minimal launcher just starts the game, it does nothing else. It's likely due to something else installed on your computer which is configured differently for StardewModdingAPI.exe vs Stardew Valley.exe (e.g. GPU settings, antivirus or other security apps, etc).

I'd also update everything, including SpaceCore. Beyond that, not sure. That error usually happens when a save is corrupted, but that wouldn't happen during the save task

I believe it's just the custom location contexts which are used by Zuzu and Moon Misadventures
I think you mentioned that you'd already enabled high-performance mode (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Game_doesn.27t_launch); just to make sure, did you do that for StardewModdingAPI.exe too? Do you know if you have a dedicated graphics card in the laptop (e.g. AMD or NVIDIA)?
So just delete Save Anywhere?

Yup! I did it for SMAPI too, and add the NVIDIA config so it would run in the dedicated graphics. ๐ฅน Still, whenever I run the game with mods I have the very same delay and non responding problem

if you sent your mods to the others, it should reason that reinstalling the same folder you sent should have the mod in it.
we added the "more new fish" mod but we removed it

So the issue is that Wittly Named recolour doesn't have a map design created for SVEs maps or for other custom farm maps (recolouring them with the colours from Wittly Recolour). So there is not content patcher map that follows SVEs map changes.
I'd check and see if anyone's made a custom map on nexus for Wittly Recolour, or check the comments

I didn't know SVE had fog... I actually removed Ferngill Weathers because I couldn't dampen the fog effect like I used to earlier this year lol

I opened it without smapi, thru steam, and i still had the same problem, so you're probably right

I'm sorry for the reply ping, but no, I don't use reshade. It does come off as such though. I've noticed it is around new locations, specifically water, as if the water was glowing.
In this case, please load any save file with just error handler on and sleep a day, preferably one you've either backed up personally or don't care for anymore

This isn't a new thing at all by the way. I've been seeing it since I got my birch double bed, and it's also been affecting other (more unusual) bed types. I think it affects strawberry and dark too? Forget what it's called

Yeah, beds don't appear over your head like other placeable equipment, at least in vanilla from what I can tell

yeah in that case all your prior beds are borked from the XNB thing
it was likely XNB mods, but then it stayed in as a "non bed" after verification... for some reason

A circular reference is basically like saying the following
- A says to load after B and C
- B says to load after C
- C says to load after D
- D says to load after A... which is not possible
You're going to have to choose who wins by deleting a dependency
For the two you have, I would delete Canon Friendly's dependence on farmerjack's, since farmerjack's only deals with the datables

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. In order to change the load order of mods, you can add false dependencies, see here for details: https://stardewmodding.wiki.gg/wiki/Tutorial:_How_to_Add_a_False_Dependency_for_Load_Orders
False dependency means "if not present, do nothing. If present, load after". True dependency means "if not present, do not load"

Cjb item spawner showing no errors but UI is different. There's only one icon and anything you want to spawn needs to be searched manually. Even then the items are not what you search for, eg: if you search wood, you will get hardwood. Even after the updating smapi to 3.18.3 the issue persists.
I hope @tired brook could work on it when he has time.

and make sure to download all of the required mods
you're missing a mod required to run SVE
PDB files donโt matter really, they only include debug information. Also latest mod build config package puts the PDB data into the DLL, so mods built with the latest version wonโt have a PDB
Oh I didn't knew that because previous versions of the mod contained that file.
I guess, I hope the mod works properly in future till then I will make do with what I have.

Just letting you know that in the next update (1.6) ptyk will no longer be supported, and all of platonymous' mods have updated to no longer require ptyk. I just wanted to let you know because ptyk significantly lowers the performance of your game (in case you dont have any mods that require it).

More backpack is working just fine. You may want to send a screenshot of it being in the mod folder and not in the log.

Random question. I have a high end PC that I am trying modded stardew valley on for the first time ever. Weird issue that I havent experienced before. Every two minutes or so I'm getting a strange stutter. My fps tracker labels this as dipping from a consistant 60 fps to 45 fps. I checked my SMAPI log and didnt see any red text popping up at those times. Just seeing if this might be an issue anyone is familiar with. Thanks!

This may be me just missing something, but changing resolution should change the size of the window in windowed mode right?
Using SVE. Launching through steam. My screen resolution is at 3440x1440 with updated drivers. The window for the game is less than a quarter of the screen. If I go to fullscreen and change the resolution, it just stays the same size in windowed mode. I can drag the border but I would rather it just lock so I don't have to do that every time and also not worry about the aspect ratio.

Nope. Initially on windowed it shows 3440x1440 as well. Moved to fullscreen. Changed to 1920x1080. Back to windowed. Shows that but the window is the same size.
Tried a couple other games that seemed to do ok with it. May as well try a reinstall.

Ok this is weird.
On intial startup game says windowed at 3440x1440.
Window size is actually 1280x720.
Changed to Full Screen.
Set to 1280x720
Changed to windowed.
The option to change resolution is there.
Set it to 1920x1080.
The window size changed appropriately but the resolution is now greyed out at 1280x720 again.
Exit and restart just reverts to 1280x720.
cant click the arrows and cant craft anything but nothing coming up in smapi logs, ideas?

Hey! My friend is installing the newest version of smapi (3.18.4) but it keeps installing SMAPI (3.14.7) and we've tried uninstalling it and using the latest installer but it doesn't work, it keeps installing 3.14.7 for them but not for me

if you don't want mods with dependencies, you've got very few functional and useful mods
once you have a bunch of dependencies you will soon find you wont have lots of other things to download because you already have them.
yeah i thought smapi would be like hollow knight scarab where you just check a box for the mods you want but instead its scramble through a bunch of websites to find anything you need

hey guys! i hope this is the right place to put this, but a friend of mine has been having issues opening and playing stardew on their laptop, and we've been unable to find any help or like any solutions to the issues so far so i thought id ask here :}
they have been having this issue with vanilla stardew as well but they've since downloaded mods and smapi is the only thing giving us any hint as to what is going on, so ill post it here
the game would "launch" in steam but the window never appeared, their computer is 64-bit and they tried compatibility mode and it didnt seem to work either, and since they downloaded smapi, this is the error message that shows up (image below)
they have updated their graphics drivers, and it didnt seem to fix anything . im not sure if these error lines are signalling anything specific we can fix? let me know if these mean anything to you or you've got any ideas or have encountered this before ^^;;

so we've tried some of the stuff listed, apparently compatibility mode did at some point work for them but has stopped working (even before downloading mods) and i believe its because stardew is failing to detect their integrated graphics card (they dont have a dedicated one because theyre computer is kind of old and cheap), so im not sure if theres anything we can do to fix that short of buying a new laptop or for them to buy a physical graphics driver for their old laptop ? does anyone know any fixes for that sort of thing ^^;; reinstalling and using compatibility mode did not work (did both things twice)

Outside of getting Rid of Multiple Spouses, Get Glam, and Custom Spouse Patio while replacing them with Free Love and Custom Spouse Patio Redux, your PPJA mods are double installed because you have the PPJA mega pack and the individual packs. Since you have multiple copies of the mods, they're not loading.
The simplest way to fix it is to delete the megapack.

That most likely caused by android smapi. Nothing you can do and just wait for android smapi to get fixed

im using the sdv very expanded pack and i keep getting this letter over and over again. even if i look at it, it doesnt go away. i have to quit the game for it to go away but it comes back the next day.

Hi, I have this issue where the portraits donโt appear correctly for my ridge side villagers since adding spritemaster. I am using DCBurgerโs RSV portraits as I prefer them a lot better and they use Pytk lite. I just wanted spritemaster bc it helped with the loading times on my steam deck haha. Ty for any help ๐

So Im using the romanceable rasmodius mod sve version and it says to use the portraiture mod but I tried using portraiture but when I press p the portrait does not change... I also tried using the wizard file from the seasonal villagers outfit mod but it says that the width is too big (the portrait I use is 256 x 640 px 9 expressions) ... I did disable wizard in config for svo mod when using but still does not work... I really don't know what else to do

it looks like youre missing parts of stardew valley expanded, delete it and reinstall, and make sure to put all the files for it, which have [CP], [JA], [FTM], etc into your mods folder

The way the predictor works is that it tracks calls to the game random, which can be disturbed if anything messes with it

hi everyone, I'm having a lot of difficulty attempting to download smapi on mac. I keep getting these error messages at the first recommended step, even after changing permissions for terminal to have access to more information of files on my computer. The version of smapi I'm trying to download is up to date; is there a way to get this to work without completely removing my computer's security/privacy settings?

Yep, just testing it and I'm also checking both our logs for mismatched mods because she had about 200 more game files than me when verifying and I have no idea how lol

I've uninstalled everything that used DGA aside form that boutique furniture thing (I think, I do still have fashion festival if that uses DGA)
We have had and deleted many mods, so I wouldn't be surprised if we messed something up
Then disable DGA, play a day without it, then re-enable it after a save
Atra suggested it and I'm guessing it's a leftover from the prior DGA pack
so after the day without it you can re-enable it and the Hime furniture without issue

Hi this is my first time modding and Iโve tried to follow a tutorial but I think somethings gone wrong. i downloaded smapi, ui info suite, generic config menu and content patcher. Hey, I am having difficulties getting the latest version of SMAPI to work. I have used SMAPI in the past with no issues but it has been a while.
When I launch the game it sits on a blank white screen and the program goes not responding, no amount of waiting seems to allow it to resolve itself. I thought maybe I had too many mods so I removed all the mods from my mod folder and it still won't launch. I tried using the SMAPI installer to uninstall and then reinstall SMAPI and it is still not working.

take the most recent one - which would have been when you first started it up today - then unzip it into the saves folder

Hey guys, I was trying to stream stardew to twitch with OBS. Whenever I use anything other than game capture my stream freezes but if I use game capture, I canโt pick up the stardew window. It gives me like 2 smapi window options but neither of them when selected show the game. Iโve seen other streamers stream stardew with mods no issue, is there something Iโm missing?

I've installed the Gift Taste Helper mod and all of the mods by cometkins to change item icons for things like forageables, artisan goods, fish, etc. I have the most up to date versions of each installed and have used them before with no problems. And the game loads perfectly fine with no errors, but the new icons are not showing up (it only shows the vanilla icons), and the gift taste helper mod is not showing up at all.

i will say it depends. if you're only going to use like 50 mods, no expansions, you'll probably be fine. but if you want more than that, your laptop will definitely explode

I've just gone and uninstalled both of them, and it's still showing the vanilla icons instead of the better icons.
Youโll hit memory limit if youโre not careful but itโs fine, it will just spam red text in the log and thing will stop working, but removing mods will fix it

3.18.3.3 was released which gives access to CJB cheats but when downloading SMAPI no virtual keyboard is there, which is needed for the mod

I've noticed in my game that I hadn't been getting any tree honey or flower meads despite having Flower Meads, Quality Artisan Products, and several mods for them. I looked at the conversation from yesterday as well as the BAGI Mead Add-On page, but I'm still confused. Am I supposed to load the icons and the info from the data files into the main BAGI file? I'm just trying to make sure before I mess something up

Mods that only change aesthetics do not need special preparation, but when removing large expansions, like Stardew Valley Expanded, or mods that add new items, you should to do a few things:
- Remove all modded fish from fishponds
- Remove items from the mod from chests and inventory
- Cut down trees/crops from the mod
- Make sure no important items are in mod-added locations
- Divorce any spouses from the mod (you can do this via console command)
When you remove the mods, make sure to keep Json Assets installed, and check that you have Error Handler installed. If you are removing all mods, play a day and save before playing unmodded.

Hello, my baby became invisible. I figured out that it reappears when I disable crib fix for the farmhouse mod I'm using. In the time it took to figure this out, the game asked me if I wanted another baby and I said yes because I was still confused about what was happening. Long story short, I'm pregnant, but my first child is still in the crib. Does anyone know what will happen when the second child is born? Will it break the children lol?
SMAPI loads mods in alphabetical order so you can rename things to change the load order - though unless you have things modifying the same thing this generally shouldnt be necessary

I'm trying to have an Animal Crossing watering can, but I also have another texture that overrides that, and loading the ACWC first fixes it

The texture overriding AC is for tools in general and it happens to also make a new watering can texture.

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game.
