Hi people, i'm looking for some help re Weirdness with CC - in particular, these CC from Defense Division. they're meant to show up when wearing special rings you buy from the DD NPC but i've never done that/used any rings from them!
first it was the "Caveira" haunted skulls following me around so i disabled them. Now it's prob whatever CC is next in the list cuz i have skeletons stalking me. harmless but Annoying.

[SMAPI] Custom NPC Exclusions uses deprecated code (IModHelper.Content) and will break in the next major SMAPI update.

Separately, entoarox framework is kind of old, and the PPJA DGA version doesn't really work. Get Glam is sort of broken, and not generally recommended.

- Industrial Furnace
- Better Junimos
(I believe that's what Robin's building menu pulls from)
I particularly suspect Interaction Tweaks (the one that isn't atra's for anyone else reading this) and Better 10 Hearts, if that helps

Yes, that's helpful for seeing exactly which bit is broken. I think Interaction Tweaks by jahangmar is my top pick for culprit guesses, but it could just be logging unrelatedly.
Aight I'll delete Interaction Tweaks and a few of the mods I don't need from what you mentioned and see if it improves at all

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).
It might be messing with your potatoes as well tbh

Your ppja mods should be the Json Assets versions, aka the originals. Make sure to sell everything from the dga version first and get rid of any already planted crops

PPJA simply stands for Project Populate Json Assets, which is what that whole suite is called, so all JA versions have that as their prefix for the main mod folders
Also I find it a bit funny that the DGA version is still called PPJA like theres json assets in the acronyms, shouldn't it be PPDGA

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
keep in mind, I use a bunch of mods that are barely updated to 1.5, so, unless they had some core changes to smapi or something, i might still have mods that need it

According to people it isn’t easy on the your pc. Hence they are switching to content patcher.
The instructions says you can just set it to false for the decencies so you can still use the mods that are depended on pytk.
I get that, but, when they say it's no longer needed, is that because something else completely replaces it, even on mod that haven't updated in a bit, or, do the mods that haven't updated still need it?

Afaik content patcher has been upgraded to a degree which can be a replacement for pytk. It is easier on your pc and might even give you less lag or not having a high cpu usage. The mods that haven’t upgraded has a manifest file on them which you can just edit so not require pytk but it will still work since some of my mods require pytk too but i havent download pytk.
since, I'm not dumb enough to straight up remove the mod without knowing what that would do to my list
so, if content patcher has the same features, couldn't I, in theory, just replace the pytk requirement with a cp requirement?

Altho for some people use it still on this day so its ok as well. But they would recommend you to just do those basic steps and remove pytk.
Some mods that are still being updated and such have switch to CP already. Some that are dont just edit your manifest in the mods folder and put false on pytk

So i have check many places, but still can't get startdew vallry to work. i keep getting the same error message on sampi and not sure what to do. I was able to copy the full log:

Implemented in version 1.5.5, MonoGame is the latest framework that Stardew uses, and was implemented to solve problems such as Memory limits and audio issues. Unfortunately, MonoGame has a bug which affects random computers, not allowing them to launch Stardew. This bugs randomly targets computers, regardless of your operating system or hardware and is out of ConcernedApe's control. There is currently no known fix. there's moddrop and I guess a couple of us have started mirroring to curseforge, but if you're on curseforge make sure not to download something that hasn't been updated in like three years

Hello, I am having trouble with my save. I cannot find my save. Before I played with stardew valley without mod and my saves were in my saves folder, but now in SMAPI my previous saves have not loaded. A thing to consider is that I made a new character and reloading the game with smapi shows that same character

why are you not trying to do it the normal way with the mods folder? what do you mean download to steam?
Were you using another reshade before that? I remember saw someone had this, because they used cinematic previously. So you have to uninstall the old reshade using the reshade installer, and reinztall vintage again using the reshade installer.
I guess the problem of having pink colour is because, new and old version of reshade use different file location for shaders and textures, but the new version of reshade (like vintage) can detect the shader and texture from cinematic (old reshade version) in another file location, so...conflicted and pinkish😅
I will update cinematic to new reshade version some time later.
If anyone encounters similar problem after swapping from cinematic to vintage, remember to uninstall cinematic (manually or using reshade installer), then reinstall.

Fair warning, I'm new to modding. I have a few of the more popular mods installed, and using the "look up anything" mod, I saw that iridium sprinklers and fertelizer can be used to craft "sprinkler system". The texture looks like it isn't made to be obtained legit and I don't have the recipe. I have no idea what mod is adding that and if it's possible to get the item, so I am wondering if anyone knows what that might be. My only guess is tractor mod, but I don't know how to see what items are added by which mods. I would appreciate any help.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
when I disabled it, half of my ja crop mods auto-disabled
and, I do have a few anime portrait mods with higher res quality

disabling it disabled all but capitalist dream farm 2, and the caroline mod
uhhh i dont know much about ppja but afaik it doesn't need pytk
and anyway, you can simply just... reenable the mods. and you can convert the portraits to portraiture if you want to drop pytk
and do this if you get another error
and btw there's a cp version of garden village that doesn't need tmxl
i dont know if this is what's causing your issue with the crops, these are all just independent (?) suggestions
honestly, half of my mod list is from 2021-2022, and half is from this week, so, if there was an easy way to replace all of the mods, I'd probably do it, but, sadly, I haven't found an easy way

Copying from the wrong channel: For someone who isn't entirely sure how to merge two mods into a modpack (do I just put the top folders in the a higher level folder??), how hard do you think it would it be to make a little boat the player can use to float around on existing bodies of water? I don't think it's a bug there was no error it's just that I think they modded the daily chance for the npc to send you gift like from the blue market mod but I want to disable the feature?

The easy way is to see map. SVE mod page has the changes
Cause SVE doesn't change the farm unless you use map mod, but it surely changes some places in town

Yeah it adds a lot more houses. Two in tue city, a farm in the south, a small one in the forest southwest and one next to the bathhouse in the north
I can't remember but looking at the map is surely easy enough to differentiate between vanilla and SVE loaded
i dont think anything has changed even though i have all the mods installed and i opened it through the correct exe

I'm new to posting here but I updated my wildflour mods and when I use look up anything, i get this error saying huh, something went wrong looking that up. It worked before I updated, anyone know a fix?

to make a long story short:
- you have enough machines to require a second spritesheet
- there should be integration between JA and LookupAnything to handle this
- that appears to not be working
- all this goes away in the next version of the game so no one really feels motivated to look into this

The errors start on page 3. I can see that a few different mods are being mentioned. I removed all of them and re-entered the community center. Still black screen.

The vanilla game item Auto Grabber accomplishes picking the eggs up. Combine with automate mod for piping/machine automation solutions.
im using xbox to play stardew but when i copy the path (to install SMAPI) it dosent work
is it possible to organize mods into sub-folders in the mods folder or will that break things?

Hrm my game crashes when I load into my save. I have some ominous sounds, twice, then the game + smapi window disappears.

you need to do that if you want to open the game from the xbox app. otherwise you can just go to your game folder and double click StardewModdingAPI.exe and that should open the modded game

I figured it out. I don't use a lot of .xnb style mods so it isn't something I consider, like, ever- but I had one installed that made it so that I had to do ALL possible CC Remix bundles alongside the originals for a more challenging game. So when I recently verified my files to fix a different issue, that mod was replaced by the vanilla version of the .xnb and it broke my CC. Re-installing the mod fixed it.

I hope im in the right place! ive never used mods before and followed a youtube video to install them but im just getting endless errors saying i cant use them? things like "cant use the market day mod because the mod isnt installed" i dont know where ive gone so wrong with this

You are missing some of those helper mods
i.e. PeacefulEnd.CustomCompanions, aka Custom Companions
ive installed a bunch of mods and there ar eno error messages in the rror logs, but whenevr i try and run the game, and load a saved file, it takes so long and i havent gotten it to actually run yet
does it just take ages when you have a bunch of mods? or do i have a mod which is causing it to not run
SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance. It is highly configurable and you can choose which options to enable.

okay it got further this itme. the loading words went away and i got a brown stardew valley type mouse on the screen but it reamined all black and then didnt respond

Yeah I am just replicating your install without SM and whilst it takes about 20 seconds to get into a game it does work, the only thing I can think of is you are using an old server CPU and not a gaming orientated CPU, the ECC Buffer and workload of the extra mods could be causing the issue. Ivybridge is what 10 years old now, and whilst revolutionary at the time many codes and updates on server grade hardware fails.

for my game only 3 mods will load even tho i have way more than 3 installed and i think that every mod i need is installed i went over it many times and couldnt find a missing mod these are my mods: Automate, Content Patcher, Custom NPC Exclosions, Expanded Preconditions Utility, Extra Map layers, Farm Type Manager, Farmhouse Basement, Generic Mod Config Menu, GiftTasteHelper, GMCM Options, Immersive Farm content Patcher, Json Assets, Kokoro, Look up anything, NPC Map Locations, Pony Weight loss pogramm, SAAT, Shop Tile Framework, Smapi, Spacecore, Stardew Hack, Stardew valley expnaded, to Dew, Ui info Suite and XP Display. That would be all mods if you see anything that is missing pls tell me i would really apprieciate it.

First error, that's not smapi mod (mod tht intended to use with smapi). Delete that as smapi will ignore it. Second error, the map isn't longer compatible. If you wanna use IF2, use the one that on SVE mod page under files. Third error, it's smapi installer inside mods folder, just move it somewhere else if you wanna keep em or just simply delete.

hi guys, i am having trouble with the following mods: Transparent Tiles, and Show Players Behind Map Tiles. it is supposed to make trees and buildings transparent around where your player is, but it is not doing that for me. any ideas?

Try only use that mod (also the three that comes with smapi) and make a test save. Then see the problem aitll occur. If not, might be mod conflict to it
Can anyone tell me which of these mods alter the 10 heart event? I know it's one of the mods because when I removed all of them (except CJB Cheatsmenu) Leah stopped saying "You're going to have to marry us all"
