yup, I attempt to load them, then smapi and the game itself close
that sucks because smapi doesnt even catch what made it crash in the log
could be stardew realty? but honestly I have no idea
so you can get rid of pytk and switch to pytk lite (i noticed you have portraiture)
map edit doesnt need pytk, even if it has it listed
the mods you removed seem to be mainly content patcher mods so i dont really know the problem
I'll try that! Yeah the ones I removed were content patcher mods from what I remember- so they really shouldn't be causing everything to crash.

Okay I'll give it a go next time I play.
So I have a weird problem. I have two clone 'strays' of my dog running around my farm (so 3 identical dogs in total). As far as I can figure they originated from the 'AdoptNSkin' mod which I had put on temporarily when I was still deciding what dog skin mod I wanted (a lot of them use this as framework) not realizing this came with the strays. I very quickly deleted it when the skin i chose didnt need that mod but the 2 clones persist. Ive tried everything I can think of. Putting the adoptNskin back and redeleting it. Using the 'chat commands' to run a delete unowned dogs command that Ive heard of working for others, I even tried just deleting all the dogs (including my own, which i dont want to do) with a command. But all 3 dogs remain. Ive scoured the mod files, gone through google, checked mod support, downloaded delete mods...Ive spent hours on this. and they are still there! I wouldnt mind so much if they werent all 3 identical and they 'Strays' seem to randomly replace my actual dog. Theyve also stopped me from getting into bed before
i can only find 2 right now but I can assure you there is a third lol
they also seem to replace my dog? or sometimes it says 'stray' and sometimes it says 'clover' (the name of my dog)
Yeah I’m actually not sure what drives the randomly changing icon
Looking identical (assuming you removed AnS) is just a function of a CP mod
You can try removing the dogs by reinstalling AnS and trying the chat commands
Alternatively, and as a last resort, you can try save editing
Save editing is finicky and risky if you don’t back up, but is pretty effective when done right
i did try reinstalling it and using commands but its possible i just wasnt using the right one? do you know of one that might work?

does anyone know why tbese two mods would interfere with Better Chests? I love both of them because theyre useful for other things but I really want to use Better Chests for the crafting thing

hello, i've got a stardew valley expanded modpack i'm playing with as my first modded playthrough
been trying to figure out what part of the mods messes with these sprites being invisible but couldn't manage to find the culprit since most visual mods i have affect either NPC portraits or animals (and i have daisyniko's earthly recolor pack installed too)
it pretty much applies to most items on ginger island (the golden coconuts look like glitched diamonds) and a bunch of equippable rings

Like, if the log doesn't mention it, but, when trying to load a farm, I go into a loop of an error.

Thanks, I'll try this out later, I'll have to backup my savefile and stuff because I'm pretty sure if i booted this up again with my modded savefile it might get corrupted
Might be something with the XNB mods I have maybe because I've been sitting on them for a while and i forgot they were even a thing

out of curiosity, anyone have issues with occasional lag/frame drops when running a ton of mods? I do run a TON of mods (like 300) but my pc should be able to run it just fine. I usually just close the game, verify files and then there wont be any lag for about an hour then it comes back. just curious since its a tad annoying at times and if theres a fix i couldnt find it 🙂 (theres no errors in smapi console btw)

i doubt the file verification does anything

what exactly does spritemaster do? Is it just a sprite reskinner/resizer?
it changes the graphics but also improves performance
the graphics can be disabled tho if you want

Hi guys, I have a question and would appreciate if someone could answer me, I downloaded a few custom maps and some of them have their own farm cave which is very nice, but I also have grandpa farm which doesn't have a custom farm cave but I did download a farm cave mod for grandpa's farm. Is there a way that I can have that farm cave mod only activate for grandpa's farm and not for the other custom maps?
Hi. I have been away from stardew for a year now and I installed it throuh steam today, ran it and its all good, I downloaded smapi 3.18.3 from the site and it installed all fine. smapi says to run it as usual but steam just opens a terminal and nothing happens. I can run the game from the file in the common folder (yes i am on a mac) all fine but not from steam, is this to be expected?

Does anyone use the Golden Walnut Machine mod?
I don't see any of the mods that uses LittleNPC in your mod list. You do have Child Age Up, but that was never updated to LittleNPC and still uses Child to NPC.
So LittleNPC isn't working because you don't have any mods for it. (The Farmer's Children, Jasper's Children, and a conversion of Babysitter are the ones I know of.)

You also have Child to NPC installed, so Child age up should be working.
Child to NPC and LittleNPC are supposed to do the same thing, and both should not be installed. LittleNPC is a lot less buggy though.

nah, stardew mods are very flexible, you usually only run into problems if two mods try to edit the same thing or if one adds something to a map that is changed by another
(or if it completely changes the format of the game, like roguelike does, but those arent that common
)
check out alternative textures! its a framework mod that gives you the option to change the textures of vanilla furniture

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. I'm already aware of the Haley warning spam and the stuff with the failure to load happened when looking at Lavril/Lucikiel events with Event lookup.
The loop breaking or something usually starts happening after installing ginger island mainland adjustments- i think?

I'm mostly confused because none of my adjusted mods should be touching the elevator. I've only gotten to level 5. My best guess would be seasonal affixes because one of them affects the mines currently but even that's a reach.
Lutris also does this which what I use.

So with .rar mods, how do i get them to my game?? i just got crop seeds for ridgeside and it's a .rar file, i have it opened but i don't know how to get them to my game

Hello! First time trying to mod Stardew Valley and I couldn't load the game. I have asked last night but I still couldn't load the game so I wanted to ask again.
I've installed SMAPI and was able to load the game, but when I tried to install UI Info Suite 2 (by putting the files under the mods file) the game refuses to load. Deleting the mod files does not work. But the game load just fine without SMAPI. I am doing the installation with someone else and they were able to get the game loaded with mods just fine. Can someone tell me if I do anything wrong or if there is something wrong with it?

I also did the thing with the launch option, which works at first but once I installed a mod it just wont load. The game only loads without the launch options

If you remove the launch options it'll load the vanilla game instead. Can you set the launch options on steam again and then give a screenshot of your mods folder?

So I have a horribly stupid question. I have all my copper tools but for some reason I cant seem to use the multitile hit on the watering can and the hoe. When I click and hold nothing happens. Now I do have quite a number of mods, which is why I put this here. However Im not convinced that thats whats causing the issue since all my mods are purely aesthetic like better horses, cuter animals, etc. save for some common mods like UI infosuite. I cant imagine any of them affecting the tool powerup, but I also dont know what else could be the problem if its not a mod. Im stumped

when i retexture a furniture item, they're not seeing the retexture. it's remaining the vanilla texture but only for some items

for instance, i'm repainting 2 walls the same texture. one of the walls on their end gets repainted the correct texture while the other remains vanilla texture

hey hey hey, so i've been having some trouble with these mods, and basically it's gotten to a point where the friend i'm playing with sent me a folder of his mods, so he has the exact same ones and they work perfectly for him, but for some reason when i go to join him it doesn't work, and even when i join my own worlds i have huge lag and apparently a whole bunch of issues with dga? i've reinstalled it multiple times with no luck

if you want someone to share a mod from Naver with you though, don't bother - this is considered mod piracy
you're using SpriteMaster, but it seems you only have 6 GB of RAM. if you have other apps running at the same time, it's possible you filled up the memory (and SpriteMaster uses a pretty good chunk of that), and your OS started using the page file, making everything considerably slower

Hello, ive been having a problem with sleeping in a specific save. When i try to sleep the screen turns black and i hear a little sound and from there nothing happens. In game it is winter 8th (festival of ice) but even when i skip the festival nothing happens. I've waited about a week in real life to see if it was just my laptop but i don't think it's that. This only happens in 1 of my saves. When this does happen my smapi thing goes crazy. If someone knows what this is, please help

Whenever you upgrade your farmhouse, some farm house mods do not handle it well
So temporarily remove your farmhouse mod when you upgrade your farmhouse

What you need to do then is take what's in that zip and copy it to the mod in your mods folder. It will replace some files.

Now be careful getting the other bfav mods because the main folders sometimes have sub folders inside for like Jason assests, etc
As for the out of date mods, I SWEAR I downloaded them from Nexus and as soon as I started up Stardew it began saying that for most of them
If your going to use more then one get the too many animals so you can scroll through the animals in marines shop
And I'm using NMM and trying to get it to update them but nothing is being updated according to SMAPI
You need to download some mods that are required for it to work. Altho with the xnb errors I can't really help you there x_x

since your modlist is so small, I'll go over why it's not possible so I can show why
Does it say which one? Like 8 of them show up for Hi Res Portraits
Your modlist is as follows
- CJB Item Spawner
- Console Commands
- Content Patcher
- Error Handler
- NPC Map Locations
- Save Backup
- Elle's Seasonal Buildings
Of those, three are the base three mods that everyone has on install, they can't be bugged
CJB is updated by Pathos and would have had several posts if it was dead or causing this. Also not possible. The same goes for Content Patcher.
Elle's only patches the outside of buildings, but you're breaking inside the building, so that's not it. NPC Map Locations is also a common mod, and does not have that problem.
So, given all that, there's really just:
- You XNB modded and your game is breaking
- One of your joined farmhands has mods they shouldn't.

Awesome! okay so, recently I downloaded more mods to install on my game that I started maybe a month ago, and this is the first save file I've done with mods. It worked completely fine until I added more mods - all of the sudden SMAPI was taking forever to load anything and then would stop completely. I tried taking away some of them with the help of a friend that does software engineering (who also helped me set up the mods in the first place) and so I tried taking out some of the mods I wasn't super into and ones that didn't work, and the next time I tried to launch the game, it crashed. This has been the case most attempts since when trying to load this specific save file. It either crashes once the save file loads, or it loads the game but without any of the mods. I tried to follow the help guide, and update mods that had updates available, but nexus mods is now not letting me download anything over a specific file size without paying for an account. No, you do not need Nexus Premium to download any mods from Nexus - it's only if you want to download something faster, which is generally not necessary for any Stardew Valley mod. If you want to download a mod from Nexus, click "Manual Download" on the files tab and then scroll and click "Slow Download" to download the mod!

Third, load times can be improved by either removing PyTK (which you don't have in this log but might have had previously?) and/or adding spritemaster

That specific mod only works with pytk 1.23
so either backdate pytk to the non-lite version
or use a different set of portraits
okay, yeah, atra's right. DCBurger ones don't have any correlation to sprites in detail, so it is the portrait pack (and therefore not having the right pytk)

Yeah I unpacked it manually into its folder as I screwed up and had to validate files and only had a copy of the wizard.xnb for the mod and wanted the original files again

I have "save anywhere" so I saved while in my barn to fix a mod and when I loaded the game after, I was now stuck in this corner? I was nowhere near this corner when I saved and closed the game so I'm not sure how this happened in the first place
in the smapi console (the black screen that shows up with the game), type debug warp farm
you can download the Noclip mod before the next time it happens but yeah the warp debug command should work
noclip is a must have for heavily modded saves

I think you install the version you want the mod to use. Pick either one without PPJA if you don't want those items in the bundles- pick one with PPJA in it if you want PPJA items in the bundles.
