SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance. It is highly configurable and you can choose which options to enable.
The game itself runs fine it's just that SMAPI and CP take forever to load/patch them in

i'm not pulling this out of my ass, shidou. we recommend spritemaster because it usually helps with start up times and general performance of the game. even if your long loading times are because of smapi loading maps, spritemaster should still help

yes, youre still doing things from the zipped folder. scroll down and search for a folder named the same but that doesnt have that little icon

if you extracted it, there should be another folder that's named the same but has a normal folder icon. like the one that's directly underneath what you have selected in the screenshot
I'm using Fashion Sense and it still uses the vanity/mirror from Get Dressed. I added a new room onto the house (vanilla feature) and it's in the way of the path to that room. Can I possibly move it? I can't move it like normal furniture

This helped me out. Seems like the issue might be with Nano's furniture specifically with sprite master. I couldn't afford pulling sprite master because it is a crucial performance mod and I had already pulled the retro furniture mod but I had Nano's installed still so I tried pulling that and my load times became reasonable again. Just wanted to put this in there if anyone else is having lag after suddenly installing a bunch of AT packs.
can someone help me about that because im still trying to find good stuff...

yes. when you into the saves folder if you've played for a while, you'll notice some files say old. those are the backups made by the game

and smapi's are in your game folder (where your mods folder is) inside save-backups

hey does anyone know how to reset sdv functionally? i installed the game thru steam and tried verifying local game files to try and get the original game files back because some mods i downloaded altered them directly but it didn't work so should i just reinstall sdv and will steam save my worlds?

hey thanks you guys i think i fixed my game actually, it wasn't necessarily any of the content mods but i remember awhile ago that i replaced the default texture pack with a custom texture pack just to get the custom texture pack to work but i think that verifying local game files fixed it bc i just tested it out and its back to normal but thanks!
hey so i played stardew earlier today and it worked totally fine. i tried to reopen it j now and when i clicked on my save it froze and redirected me back to the main menu loading screen. anyone know how to fix this?

if you want to make a xnb replacement, try the message elizabeth just pulled up

I had, still have, a issue with a CJB warp mod and I was here for a few hours, no one knew the answer
I went to SVE and Ridgeside, no one has replied to me
TLDR; I'm missing a whole portion of the warps
Mine is starry night, what Im SUPPOSED to have is the default
I did exactly what the updated version of CJB menus warps said, replacing the files. All it gives is SVE. But the thing is that before the May 28 update, I HAD the additional farms sections, I updated, now it's gone
I went to the ridgeside mod and redownloaded their additional warps, however that took away my SVE warps and caused some minor corruption in the other warps (it's a 2022 file, and the only warp file in the ridgeside mod)
the thing I don't understand, is the warps file in the folder, has the additonal farms within the text. It just, doesnt pop up in my game
take the giant-ass xml and open in the most bare-bones text editor you can find—it's incredibly large and may crash fancier ones

Hi all! New to modding but I’ve had a couple previous vanilla playthroughs before. I have also played modded games successfully before. I’m having a big issue with modding SDV though and I have tried restarting my computer, reinstalling smapi, and reinstalling the game itself. No mods appear and I can’t use the smapi.exe chucklefish icon either.
- a bit of a note, I meant playing the game with / installing mods not creating mods for the game. Smapi is downloaded and in my files but all I get is a super quick error message and then it disappears.
Vortex (Nexus) and ModDrop both are mod managers that can help you keep your mods up to date, but they are difficult to troubleshoot. If you're looking for a mod manager that was written specifically for SDV and has troubleshooting logs built in, you can try Stardrop (!stardrop).

it does. see if you can get your other players to give their logs too, but if you cant id assume there was a mismatch of mod lists and thats what causes the crash

i fixed some of the mods that were missing but not on his but we more or less have the same mods
the ones that are missing are just cosmetic

technically your laptop should be ok to run it? ive ran stardew on a potato before (seriously, it was technically just for uni, had 100GB space and 2-4 gigs of ram, and i was lucky if it didn't just bluescreen)

so unless your laptop is from like the 90s you're most likely going to be fine? maybe just with vanilla, but you're going to be fine

Hello, im playing east scarp with ridgeside valley alongside many other mods. I just started up my game today after not playing for awhile and suddenly my character running speed is same as walking
tried messing with auto run settings / manually running by holding shift. nothing changes. im in running animation but at walking speed. Tried getting "Movement speed" mod (alters move speed) and i can get it back to normal... but wanna figure out wats the problem instead of fixing the problem with the additional mod 🙄
anyone got any ideas / encountered this and know how to fix?

I wouldn't be making any edits to the assets and will not be profiting off them in any way.

Hi, I've been playing with a ton of mods. It has been quite stable for a very long time. However, it keeps crashing when starting a new day before it saves. I am stuck and unable to progress.
I removed multiple spouses mod, no change.
I have tried renaming all of my children, but it still crashes.

yes, the error isn't with the mod, it's with your game files
but what caused the error? I don't think I have any xnb mods?
it says it's missing gil.xnb which is a game file
It still is missing even thought I did the repair

ok seems like gil doesnt have an xnb in characters, so it may be that whichever mod it is, is trying to look for something on the mod's own files that doesn't exist
if you already did the repair, it's got to be a cp mod

easiest way to tell is searching up the event id in your whole mods folder, and see what comes up, since the error happened when it was trying to run an event

I saw there's an option for SMAPI to do it by altering the launch commands but I don't want to have to change that every time I want to swap groups. Does anyone know of a way to easily set up multiple launch options that works nicely on the Deck?

Probably PyTK. Remove it and add in SpriteMaster to decrease lag/loadtimes. If there's still lag, install Profiler and see what's taking the longest to add.
None without a log. Unless another modder knows of a mod that does this off the top of their head, we'd need to see a log to see what mod adds monsters to the NPC thing.
all bundles is bugged. That specific error is a bundle mod error, meaning the mod you're using broke your bundles. Bad news only here, I'm afraid - I don't think the debug shufflebundles command works for this one, so your save file is screwed. You'll have to create a new file.

If you are having issues with all of your shoes turning your Stardew character's boots red, your boots internal data has corrupted. Thankfully, this is mostly a benign problem, and can be fixed by spawning new boots and throwing away the old ones. To spawn new boots, type debug fin <boots> in your console, replacing <boots> with the exact name of your boots without spaces (e.g. Space Boots become spaceboots).

Your only other recourse is to install Fashion Sense and force override the boot color.
This will then override any boots to the color you have selected.

hi so i've been playing on DaisyNiko's Blackberry Fields Farm, and i didn't realize that i installed the CP version instead of the FTM version, which means the mini quarry and hardwood stumps can't spawn. so i uninstalled the CP version & installed the FTM version, but now when i load in it's just the standard farm. I know i can just reinstall the CP version and play without the quarry and hardwood stumps, but i was hoping someone here could help

You are... woefully misinformed on how mods work. There is no "CP/FTM" version - both folders are needed for the farm to work
you also do not have blackberry fields farm at all in your modlist.
both needed. as it's not come as a single folder, you can make folder named Blackberry Fields Farm then puth both CP and FTM folder there
Download it from Nexusmods, unzip both the CP and FTM portions to your mods folder, and boot. It should then replace standard, unless you modified the mod's config to have it replace something else. If you do modify that config, you'll also need to follow the instructions on the modpage to fix it

If you have a mod with multiple folders like that, you'll always need them all.
(Just in case you run into this in the future!)
Minion, someone else will need to take a look at what's happening in yours, by the way - Carbon Ghost is added via SVE. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the debug commands you're using are causing the issue, but general findings from what I can see:
- Carbon Ghost is never added to dispos, so there's likely some unintentional interactions
- Realistically nothing interacts with the monsters that would cause that - the only mods that look even mildly suspicious but I can't honestly say would be the issue would be Sleepless in Stardew, MultitoolMod, Night Owl (which I think is broken - that or it's the update for the normal broken one but I swear it's broken), and FightingWithNPCs. Everything else seems relatively normal

Based on similar NPCs of this type, it's an unlock thing.
Plus, the NPC literally designs itself as a glitch, so I'm guessing they actually spawned her on the beach, hoping no one would access them, when they should probably have tossed em in a warp room until the 0 heart triggered

0-Heart Event: A farmer must be able to farm, forage, fish, mine, and fight. From there, it's just a matter of having access to her house, and talking to the first person that sees her. Of note, you will be unable to meet her if you haven't done this event!
0-Heart Event: Go to the beach after 8PM, after repairing the wooden bridge and getting the fishing rod and the sword. It cannot be the same day as a festival.

so... I have been playing my main save file with ridgeside valley since day 1. I noticed that I wasn't even going there, so will my save file be imapcted in some major way if I were to remove ridgeside? I've done like 2 events from ridgeside and have gotten 1 or maybe 2 quests from it too
The main concern are quests / special orders in progress
If you don’t have these, it should be fine to remove Ridgeside

so im modding my game, and i have the Romanceable Rasmodius (SVE Compatible) mod, i also wanted to give him custom sprites, the sprites for his in world character work, but the portraits im using just refuse to show
im also using portrature and the stardewvalley anime mods portraits
the mod says that if i change the config that itll use the custom sprites but it just doesnt work
and idk what the problem is
You could always remove it and see if anything is broken, and if everything is as it should be, you can save the day and if not, restart with the mod back in.
So this might be a stupid question but I've never modded before lol can i mod the game and then join a save file or do i have to start a new game file all over for the mod to work (it's just some dialogue mod btw)
most mods are safe to add mid save
especially ones that are only aesthetic changes (including dialogue)

SO, it's been some time now that my friend has issues with his game. We play on a multiplayer game I'm hosting, with mods. The thing is, I don't have any issues, but he does: for example, when he goes to one place to another, the loading screen takes 10 minutes or even longer, I would call it "infinite loading screen" ; when he opens chests, it takes forever for him to show what's inside...
We don't understand what's the problem, AT ALL.

Hello, I need help. For some reason, my portraits look like this, blank, or extremely zoomed in. I just installed the DCBurger mod. I also checked SMAPI logs but it's not showing any red warnings.
make sure you have HD Portraits or Portraiture, those are required to make portraits larger than 64x64 pixels to work

- manual install mod is recommended (one by one).

manual download is you need to install mod manually (most mod page will tell you how on the description tab), while the other is through mod manager

manual is recommended. it's better that you know how mod in sdv works. then after you familiar with sdv modding, you can try mod manager (stardrop is recommended)

like the normal save will load but then get stuck very dim and frozen

The backup is likely broken or you're not properly restoring the backup. But please load the "dim and frozen" save, then log, please.

so you don't click on your save, let it load, and then once it's fully loaded you try and click in and it's not working?

Okay, so I did what you said. We have the same mods now. I tried joining a game he hosted this time, just to see if I would have the same issue he has (infinite loading screen, trouble taking dropped items...). I did, but his game was working excellent.
Of course after this I made a new multiplayer game he joined, and the same thing happened... He starts having infinite loading screen, etc.
So I guess it might be an issue with multiplayer mode? Only the player joining the multiplayer game has these issues, not the hoster. But what is the problem? There was no issue when we played for the first time, 5 months ago more or less.

so to put it simply, the problem occur when you're the host?
The problem happens when you're the player joining the game made by the hoster
if he made the game and I join, the issue will happen to me

i manged to get it to work yay but fishing as put me to sleep more than once .....
so i noticed something weird happening and i think it might be related to the better chest mod? i had 20 bug meat which is supposed to give me 100 bait. i held shift and right click to just make them faster and i only got like 30. if i'm anywhere near a chest it seems to be bugging out when i craft things?
the other day i was near a chest, crafting sprinklers and i did the same thing. i zoned out and looked back, i had 200 sprinklers? i was like huh? i restarted the save because i had barely enough for 7 sprinklers, there's NO WAY i could make 200 lol
i've never had that issue before and i only started using better chests this save so i can only assume that's what it is?
I use better chests too and crafting is bugged for me as well. it dupes items essentially

I wanna change a "true" setting to "false", but when I open the PDB-file in Word or noteblock, its mostly just a bunch of squares and other symbols that I can't understand. I can find the setting I wanna change, but there is no "false" or "true" after its word. What do I do?
Pdb file is a c# mod
False and true is just checking or unchecking box in gmcm or editing config.json
You can't edit those manually without literal code knowledge and code programs

It's likely an issue of it's in alpha and If there is a fix, there's usually one in the issues tab on the github

that [CP] in the title means it requires Content Patcher. it should be listed on the page where you downloaded that interface
its ok, just look more carefully at the requirements tab in the future 
download and installation process is the same as the mod you already have, and it basically allows new content to be patched into the game, whether that be textures, dialogue, etc

That message about spacecore affecting your save is just letting you know that it makes permanent changes to the save and plenty of mods use it, it's not a warning to remove it, all it does is let you know so you don't remove it (Otherwise that save will crash) so I'd add it back

i actually added save anywhere after this was already happening to see if that would help fix it (it hasn't lol)

crash happened shortly after i selected the save to load; it sits on the black loading screen and then just crashes. copied the log right after the crash
try undo the save. idk why the log doesn't have any error then th game crash

based on your last log, the game loads just fine. depends on on your pc spec, it could take long to load with some mods, especially expansion mod like SVE

I also have updated Pytk i don't know why SMAPI says that
this log doesnt indicate a crash, by crash do you mean it just says "not responding"?

I have reinstalled the game, restarted my pc, used the _old save files. Nothing worked
have you tried running from command line? it's a little tricky but can sometimes give you readable errors when the game just crashes
