I'm trying to run a mod on stardew (specifically stardew valley expanded). I have smapi installed but I can't figure out how to run other mods now SOS :,)
I'm using the WildFlour megapack and I'm now able to do special requests from the mods posted on the big bulletin board. I have a quest to deliver 6 sachets of tea to Sandy, but every time I try to give them to her it gives it to her like a gift and doesn't complete the quest. What am I doing wrong?

(unless you have my special orders mod installed, which changes that mechanic because I found it dumb)
I did try to give her a stack of six of the same and the same thing happened 
are you sure the SO doesnt say to put it in a specific place rather than handing it to her?
It says to give them to her. There isn't any mention of a container or anything

if you want to clean your mod file and redownload new ones, keep the ones that came with smapi. error handler for example

When I launch SMAPI on Android it's just a white screen and then it closes a few seconds later.

idk if this is the right place to ask but i need help modifiying a content.json for one of the mods i'm using

so the farm cave i downloaded gives you fruits from day one (and iridium ore, radioactive ore, cindershards, mussel nodes and bone nodes). i tried turning it off which that part seems to be working. however, with the farmcave, there should be a treasure chest inside it on day one that gives me a neptune's glaive. after editing the forage and ore part, it doesn't spawn anymore

I was told to come here and ask about an issue im having with getting Stardew Valley (both vanilla and modded) working properly. Yesterday when i decided to get back to modding again, i downloaded the new versions of mods, and set things up, and the game itself (smapi cmd prompt loaded fine, but not the game itself) never bothered to load, so i went searching the net/reddit/etc most solutions i found did not work, tried asking on smapi reddit but no answer. Literally a full year ago I had SDV running fine, and got modded set up with no issues or anything, now yesterday when started up again, i updated the mods i had+ grabbed a few more, and as mentioned, the game never loaded, and.. then same for vanilla as well. I assumed the issue was from the newer versions of content patcher or smapi and it broke vanila as well, so i uninstalled/reinstalled, same issue, no loading for either. I had someone tell me to use previous version of smapi/contentpatcher, which then i got the game to load (tho it was slower to load, and kept freezing, and pretty much unplayable at this point.
Im not sure if i broke something in the files or something got changed, but there was no patch/hotfix from the last time i played, and this is kinda depressing that SDV isnt playable for me now.
Edit: Also:
- there are no errors for mods either.
- Drivers are fully updated
- i tried the startup file delete
- I tried the commonredist delete
- reinstalled the .net/etc folders
- already ininstalled/reinstalled twice
- Comp supports 64bit with no issue, but the game now forces me to use compatibility mode, but shows it has no problems.

question: I uninstalled ptyk, but apparently my dc burger portrait mod and one by lunakatt depended on it. could i just take the pngs and paste them into the appropriate portraiture folder?
I believe both of those have Portraiture versions? If so, yes, just copying the portraits into the portraiture folder will do the trick
i couldn't find the portraiture versions but it was also like 4am so yay (my dc burger portrature folder only has i think resort shane? lol)

Hello team I have a slight issue. I'm using both the prarie king pack and the "default" archery pack (bows and crossbows) yet for some reason, all items are showing up as slingshots when fired by the character. does anyone know why that might be?

mm I don't see any archery errors in here, I'd suggest posting a bug report on the Archery nexus page or on the github
Does it work normally for other people out of curiosity
It worked fine for me when I tested my own archery content pack
So, I want SMAPI to load "Gwen's_Paths" (manifest is the 2nd ss) before "Seasonal Floorings" (doesnt have config options to manage what it overridse or what not, manifest is the 1st ss). I checked with the JSON validator link to see if everything was okay too. Then, in the generic mod config of Gwen's Paths, I turned off the ones that I dont want it to replace so the Seasonal Floorings variant shows up instead but all of the pathings are still the Seasonal Floorings ver

you want the gwen's paths to load after seasonal so I would put the gwen's paths dependency in the Seasonal flooring manifest

i may have done it wrong but after installing mods it mentoned they would be broken in the next update so i closed the game and deleted them. but the snapi launcher wont launch the game again no matter if i fully reinstall it and reboot the pc. just shows a white screen. did i remove them wrong?
o and vanilla launches fine
most authors are just waiting for that update to come so they can update their mods too, but that doesn't affect the game in any way
i'm not sure why smapi won't launch though
are you normally able to just delete the mods in the folder and restart the pc then launch if you want to remove them. trying to figure out what i did wrong
do you play on steam/windows?
if you still have the smapi installer around, you can click on the install file, and it should give you the option to uninstall. that's the recommended method to delete smapi

yep. and the game. and deleting all files and reinstall everything. i dont have a save so not worried about losing anything yet

Nothing. I loaded up the game for the first time today. It was loading into my save and then smapi closed

Nope. And no, my save didnt even load. I clicked to load my game in, the game wasloading. I walked away, and came back to my.laptop on the desktop
It worked fine yesterday, I closed the game out fine. This morning I checked for any updates, there wasnt any so I just started the game. I didnt add or update any mods.
Have you tried to open it again? is it the same error?
I havent, was trying to see if it was easily fixed as it takes 20 mins to load in (sprite master wont work for me)

Or try temporarily removing NPC Map Locations, loading up, and then putting it back in and loading a second time. Removing it shouldn't break anything, it'll just be slightly annoying to play without it for a session.

try disable/move that mod first to see if that mod is the cause
First of all just try it again see if you have the same error. Then if so remove what you last put into your mods and try again.

The next best thing I can identify, that they apparently don't have permission to access the files, which is weird.
when trying to connect to a multiplayer game the host side we loaded in but we stay on a black screen any know why

the Portraiture has been tried without with the same outcome
It was loading in the save, I walked away, and came back to my desktop screen because smapi closed itself
Im not too sure if you need the other player to have "Portraiture" mod or you should disable it while playing multiplayer.
Hello folks! I play on Windows through steam version 1.5.6 hotfix 3, and i have modded my stardew valley. It was running really great for a few weeks and i was really getting into it until it started crashing trying to load into the next day. i went through and deleted some of the mods i dont use, thinking it was something cluttering up my mods folder, i also tried to update all mods and it didnt seem to help. it still crashes loading into the next day. I will send my smapi log

and its been working fine
we just went to rejoin and now all of us other than the host is black screen if the host is paused it will show in the top corner but when they unpause nothing will happen and the pause will remain in the top corner for us

before the crash? i just play the game, farm some crops, go buy seeds, put those in the ground, then go to bed. everything runs how it should until i try to sleep
I usually just delete the file corresponding to the save so that the icon goes specially robin
i have other save files. should i load one of those to see if it will let me go to the next day?

i did not add any new mods. I also just went into one of my other save files and it let me go into the next day
I usually go to the uiinfosuite2 > data and delete the info of my save there. It reloads robin's icon if it goes missing so suddenly
Hello, I have a question about Sprite master. I play Stardew with my girlfriend and we have an identical mods configuration (I say identical, because it is copied from my machine) but when we play, her SMAPI uses 6GB of RAM while mine only 2GB. And that behavior is consistent. If someone can comment on this it would be greatly appriciated 
You can try a new save file to test it out just to be sure.

Maybe so just try going back to 1 day on your save

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

and i assumed it was the mana/magic cuz the first time i tried loading it just never loaded the first time, tho i havnt tried them with the version of smapi i have installed atm

i was reading up earlier than protrait mods causes issues with SDV even into the base game tho? cuz thats my issue atm, something i did while modding broke my SDV entirely, even without SMAPI being used, being forced to use compatibility mode
if not even vanilla works for you, idk what you want us to do tho
First thing is to just uninstall mods and just get the vanilla working coz it means it will be a technical problem.

i had vanilla/modded working in the past when i last did it, then a few days ago when i wanted to play modded again, i updated the mods and now im stuck with it being broken

and what i need help with is if there is a mod, or something i did while trying to update mods, that caused SDV to break over all (i ahve tried uninstalled the game twice already to reset it)

yup, ive already gone thru those and multiple other things ive found online that people found as solutions
if not even vanilla works and youve already uninstalled and reinstalled the game, then im not sure what else you can do
We are just trying to help you step by step. Just don't do mods first and run the vanilla. If vanilla don't work then go from there.

Implemented in version 1.5.5, MonoGame is the latest framework that Stardew uses, and was implemented to solve problems such as Memory limits and audio issues. Unfortunately, MonoGame has a bug which affects random computers, not allowing them to launch Stardew. This bugs randomly targets computers, regardless of your operating system or hardware and is out of ConcernedApe's control. There is currently no known fix. Thats where the issue comes in tho, I had the game working (both vanilla and modded) exactly a year ago way after that patch...

Hello! No, the PC's are different. One's an Intel configuration (hers, the one which pulls more ram) ant the other is an AMD one (mine, which pulls less ram).

Yeah, you said it yourself different pc. If you copy your files over to any of your computers with different specs of course it'll be different. Not unless you bought 2 identical pc.
Hello again all, I just went back a day for my stardew, played the two days, and it still throws the same error

I'm encountering an issue with two mods in Stardew Valley, namely 'Seasonal Villager Outfits' and 'Flower Dancing.' Despite enabling the special outfits for festivals in 'Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic,' they don't seem to change during the events. I'm using the WildFlour NPC mod, but after the most recent update, I'm not able to buy seeds from her and I don't see the seasonal veggies/fruits for sale a Pierre's either. I've checked all the tables in her house and none have seeds. Am I clicking on something wrong?

like i can't understand the problem? like it says it cant find black_squirrel.xnb but that SHOULD be there? I haven't changed anything about the mods before it satrted giving me these errors, except add spitemaster (which im hesitant to delete bc it cut my load time from 15 to 5 mins)

I've run into some SMAPI issues while using SVE. I closed my game earlier today and tried to go back later and the SMAPI console opens, flickers, and shuts down. ok so i did a test load of the mod just uploaded to nexus today. i am only running what is needed to get it to run and it looks fine on my end - which leads me to believe something is conflicting on your end. I would remove MEEP unless you need it for another mod, and i would also remove tmxl for the same reason. finally, i would make sure you delete the alchemist npc entirely and then install today's download so you do not overwrite anything, and then see if those steps help. β€οΈ

the mods you have are mods that do nothing on their own but rather you need to download more such as the tractor mod etc and put them into the mods folder like the others
are you sure you tried pressing P to open CJB cheats
if cjb opened up properly that means you downloaded the mod properly

hi, my modded game always crashes at the end of the first cutscene (right after opening my letter) . Would someone know if there's a mod conflct?
Is that log from a time that it worked or from a crash? If from a crash, it kinda looks like itβs loading the same things over and over again. I donβt know how to fix that. You could try downloading the latest unofficial version of UI Info Suite 2, which is forked on the github repository from the main modβ¦. Maybe itβs mad you dropped it?

Without a log, it looks to me like you have an old version of walk to the desert and garden village, might be good to update to the redux version of walk and the cp version of garden and dump tmxl if thatβs the only thing requiring it. But yeah log is best!
@daring wagon the log ends when I closed the game, so itβs from when it worked. It didnβt crash on me at all. When I try opening SMAPI and it crashes isnβt shown in the log. Idk whatβs up with UI info suite 2 because I think I deleted it after I had been playing for a bit. I will try downloading the proper one and report back

wait, by crash do you mean the game just sits at the loading screen for a while? maybe says "not responding"?
this is normal, especially when loading into a brand new save, once it reaches the loading screen do not touch or click anything on your computer, since SMAPI does not usually like it when you do that
the wait time goes up the more mods you have (especially expansions, and you have quite a lot of those)

you can try out this mod and see if it improves loading times for you

Yeah also Iβm pretty darn sure those versions of Tarniyarβs mods are not supported in 1.5. Walk to the desert and garden village. I would expect those to break things. Iβm not at my computer right now and canβt go find what Iβm using, but checking for walk to the desert redux should get you to better places.
Has anyone else had issues with CJB Cheat menu warp locations?? It used to work fine, then i downloaded the latest update for SVE, and now none of the SVE or Ridgeside locations show up..

i've put them in one folder, then put them all as seperate folders, and neither of them bring the other locations up

You need the RSV + SVE version from RSV's optional files. Warps + SVE and Warps + RSV are separate files, they don't add onto each other

its supposed to look like this. this is what i HAD before the last update (may 28). After i updated it i just, cant get the additional farm points back. and those were the primary ones i used.
I don't have any other info, I don't use SVE. It's likely un-updated, so I suggest contacting FlashShifter about updating the SVE warp patch to include RSV compat

it's just so bizzare. the additional farms is clearly written inside of the file, but it's the only section that doesnt appear in my game

For the Vanilla Tweaks mod - can I just delete the assets I don't want (e.g. rings, weapons)? It does show a bunch of yellow text saying that it isn't there but I'm pretty sure it is fine for graphical mods. I mostly deleted them to know if smapi will load faster so yh does it lower loading time? ty for help!

smapi will tell you which ones it cant load
i would suggest backing up your files beforehand, and then test it. I definitely wouldve tested it with each installation, so if your game messes up then you know which one does it

thats a warning for mod authors to prepare for upcoming smapi updates. players are safe to ignore it

SMAPI 3.18.0 raised deprecation levels to the final stage, meaning SMAPI will now show yellow warning dialogues for mods with deprecated code. For the user, this just means that the mods have old code and will break in SMAPI 4.0 if they are not updated - it is not anything to worry about at this time. Make 2 subfolders titled something like 'For Save A' and 'Save B'. Put the mods you want in each of them. Switch one out when you use a save.

No need to paste anything, you can move the sub folders directly to the mods folder since Smapi can still read those. You should however remove the other group of mods you wouldn't be using for that run.
Either by dragging it out of your mods folder or renaming it so it starts with a dot. Something like ".For Save B" or something.
What you can't do is put a mod within another mod.

However, recently, my NPCs have been walking through walls and walking out of bounds at various speeds and am wondering what has happened. An example being 10+ people showing up in the shop and all of them are invisible or out of bounds as I cannot see any NPCs at all and sometimes they walk out of thin air and have the ability to walk through the isle shelves...
It was working fine a day or two ago and as of recent I have tried removing the mods I installed recently which sadly did not change anything, also the SMAPI console does not show any errors.
If I could get some help from anyone who might've experienced the same, or maybe knows what'd cause something like that, I'd really appreciate it.
Attached is a screenshot of my current mods folder sorted by most recently installed starting from top to bottom (ignore the 2019 install, that's wrong).
If any more information is needed to troubleshoot, I'd be happy to provide with a reply. Sorry for the long message, thank you so much to anyone who offers any insights to this problem!

I did try updating the dialogue mod, but I cannot seem to. Also I don't recall having this problem before despite the mod being out of date.
the first thing i would try is removing save anywhere redux, it does funny things to NPC schedules so i wouldnt be surprised if it made them walk into the void
would I need to go to the next day to refresh it
as I did try removing that before as I suspected it could be an issue
idk, probably should start at the beginning of the day

remove, delete, up to you. but as you mentioned i would recommend starting on a fresh day before doing that
yeah I went to bed to start a new day, quit and then removed it after closing

alright well for now I think that solved it, I'll probably leave that mod out of my folder as it seems to be the mod to cause the most issues going forward

yes π but its weird because I hit save and my farmer will be completely different than what i did in GMCM

I had to uninstall Ridgeside. The only error is that a ridgeside quest is still on the quest list. Is there a way to 'clean up' the list?

Possibly, though I thought CA had fixed that issue several versions ago. You checked the east beach as well? They can spawn there even if you haven't yet unlocked it

just wondering how exactly it transfers things over? does it copy all your animals, chests, buildings etc? does it copy multiplayer cabins?
so when you select the farm you wanna switch to, it changes the map and the same screen that you get when you're buying a building pops up, it gives you all your buildings to place them wherever you want (without any wood/stone/weeds and so on spawning, the map is clean so you can place anywhere), after you're done placing all your buildings, you'll just go to the regular screen with your farmer standing in front of your house and all your items that were in your farm (outside of buildings, for example any machines or chests) will be placed in chests around your farmhouse
on the new update for it, they also made it so you'll get back all the seeds you planted (if you have crops growing at the time of switching farms) and also tree saplings (for fruit trees)
I used it like 2 or 3 times and it was SO GREATTT, I highly recommend it

and chests that are already on the farm- do they stay or should i move them off the farm temporarily just to be safe?
just make a backup of your save before changing farms just in case and you'll be fine
anything and everything on the farm will be put into chests, and the chests you have laying around in your farm will be moved and put around your farmhouse along with the new ones
if you wanna sort them out easily, I recommend color coding them

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with that 
have they spawned successfully in other locations? If so then I assume they found a new out of bounds area to spawn
in the config file (if I added it to this version and not just the private version I have..) you should also be able to disable beach spawns for horses and leave other places as an option if you'd rather they spawn somewhere reliable
Nahh I have the announcement thing on and out of 3 times it was on the beach with I assume out of bounds. When I boot the game up I can try bugtesting if you want and keeping the beach with 100% spawn rate on to see if itβs actually out of bounds
When I closed it I did remove beach lmao. Btw, does βForestβ mean Cindersap too?

(no hidden woods or back pathway behind the farm, either- because NPC pathing isn't coded on these maps it would actually crash the game to spawn them there)

that looks like an error that should have popped up after a game load when there is already a horse on the save file- shouldn't be related I don't think, but sometimes if you get an error at the same time the mod is trying to do something else it'll just. skip over that next thing too, and never do it
If that error occurs on saves that already have had the current version of A&S installed on them then that would be a bug

This mod just edits the farmers hairstyles, so you can check with a new save or use customize anywhere iirc
so it edits the vanilla hairstyles into these?

and it shows the id of what your missing

okay so there was a new update on an Rasmodius romance mod, so I decided to download nyapu's portrait, and i just want to make sure i do it right

Delete the mod you have that you want to update, then download the latest version, then extract it to your mod file and continue playing as normal

there is a regular vibrant pastoral that does not require sve, get that instead if you arent using expanded

you can try looking at fashion sense packs, though generally most clothing mods youll see for sdv are for female characters

yeah thats just how it is, the community has a lot of female players so theres lots of feminine clothes out there. i dont have any specific recommendations for you but you can try looking at the "mods requiring this file" area of fashion sense's mod page (in the Requirements tab), you may find something there

What mods take a long time to load? My game can take over 10 min with all of my mods xd
Expansions are what slows me down most of the time but the game always runs smoothly nevertheless
albeit I'm playing on a relatively crappy laptop
