i removed it and added back into my mods but its not working still and it was a fine awhile ago;;

smapi ignores some types of files like images. check if the mod pages have instructions how to use the mods, they look like the kind you have to manually apply

I did, it says to just drag it into the Mods folder and then it should work
I'm not sure what mod those Portraits/Beach Portraits folders come from but if it's showing that error it's because they have to replace something
June's portraits likely have to replace June's own portraits inside the ridgeside mod
And the Open Fire English translation probably has to replace something in that mod's folder as well

Darn i broke something...
I installed Seasonal Garden Farmhouse... It works, BUT
When I walk behind the screen to swimsuit (didn't know it would do that) I am now stuck in my swimsuit. Anyone know why/how to fix it? Besides trying to snailpace my way to the greenhouse where I have another such screen?
Fixed for now by walking to the greenhouse and using that screen. Will just avoid doing it again

If I have a Vortex modlist... And it's a bit finagled with... How long would it take to move it to stardrop? And does stardrop use the "download with mod manager" button?
And does stardrop (similar to Vortex) use essentially a "Fake" mod-folder, aka doesn't interfere with the actual game-folders?
stardrop makes a temp folder or sth in your app data that i think might just sym link back to the actual mods folder?

That's pretty much the thing I mean, that it makes a temporary folder which links to the mod folder, rather than using the actual mod folder. (To allow precisely, profiles)

is there someone that can help me? Ive downloaded the expanded mod and im not sure what im looking for exactly cos im new to modding. But in the game sophia isnt there. iove looked for her everywhere n she isnt even like on the character list of people to introduce yourself to. I just looked thro my files n i believe i have everything, though i do have a duplicate of the expanded mod, one where if i go into the "Stardew Valley Expanded ( {CP } S.V.E /Assets/ Char Files/ Portraits, i have all of the characters portraits and files/schedules. This is my second playthrough of SVE and my second time losing my mind because I can't for the life of me trigger the cutscene where Apples offers to repair Aurora vineyard? I'm max hearts and have seen the heart events...?
So ive redownloaded it and im trynna extract them all to my folder, theres 2 mods that are CJB cheats/Grandpas Farm and CJB cheats/SVE warps. When i try to extract them its like trynna replace a different file already which was ( CJB cheats menu IF2R )

I am having issues with SMAPI. At first, it worked perfectly. I was going through new mods, and Vortex reinstalled everything, and now StardewModdingAPI.exe opens and closes immediately. So I uninstalled everything, deleted %appdata% folder and steamapps\common\Stardew Valley.
I reinstalled everything again, and still, StardewModdingAPI.exe opens and closes immediately. You can barely make out the icon on the taskbar. There is nothing in the error log. I tried forcing it to make sure it is running off my GPU. I tried compatibility mode... every suggestion I could find... and nothing works.
Did you install SMAPI through vortex?
I did it both ways
I tried through Vortex, and the same thing happened. So I thought that was a problem, so I downloaded it from the site, ran it, and did the uninstall option first. Then reran it to install. Same thing, open and close right away.

What does DGA do? Replace? The whole point is I don't want replacements... I want to still keep vanilla furniture (as I have one replacer already)
the ARV warning is a known error, it's not harmful and it doesn't cause any issues. You can ignore it

ok so i’ve literally never downloaded any mods before i have no idea what i’m doing but i just tried to download expanded and i followed this youtube tutorial and did exactly what it said but then when i try to open the stardew modding launcher thing the window comes up for a split second t then disappears it won’t open properly and i have no idea what to do someone help plz😭

@ArcaneDescent @JessYoMama You can do it without a mod. Go to %appdata%/StardewValley and open the file called startup_preferences. ctrl + f for "playerLimit" and you'll find something like this: <playerLimit>-1</playerLimit>.

I bought the stable but it didn't come with a horse. Figured it's glitched somehow so I got a mod that calls the horse to me. Says I ain't got no horse. Any ideas? I have no mods that edit stables or horses. My game does have a lot of popular mods tho.

Hello! I have a question, this is my first time modding anything but I wanted to give it a shot, I am trying to install StardewXnbHacker so I can make my own custom pfp's for the characters but it doesn't appear to be working, I put it in the Stardew valley folder, I am trying to unpack the file, re-pack the file, it just keeps on saying "Sorry! Please place your file in the Stardew folder" which I have done a bunch of times, DDD: has anyone installed this on windows and knows what to do? Because I am so lost, thank you if anyone responds to this, and sorry if this is a really easy fix this is my first time doing something like this so it's confusing atm.

some things can't really get support cuz they're not supported yet in the alpha
yeah most ppl are just waiting until smapi is more stable to a) work on actually making their mods work on mobile and b) try to help mobile players with their issues because it is Very Broken

For the user, this just means that the mods have old code and will break in SMAPI 4.0 if they are not updated - it is not anything to worry about at this time. (For mod authors, it's a not-nice warning to update your code already!

Hery quick question, so when downloading the Stardew Valley expanded the zip has a bunch of folders such as [JA] Stardew Valley Expanded and [CP Stardew Valley Expanded, i recognize these are Content Patcher and JsonAssets, however following the guide on github, it tells me to download these mods separately. Now can anyone explain whether to use these ones included in the Expanded folder or the separate downloads or combine them somehow?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could help with a modding issue? I haven't played in a long time, but I wanted to try with Mods. I used Vortex and stuff, and I downloaded these. When I get in game, my controller bugs out as if I'm going through my inventory constantly, and I can't turn it off. I tried some of the fixes, like going through my Steam Properties, but those didn't work. Also...none of the mods I downloaded (Heelies, Gift Taste Helper, NPC Map) work. Any advice?

So I've been playing a SVE game with my friend for a few days, and ever since I updated SVE about 2 days ago, the game takes like, 15-20 mins to load as opposed to the usual ~3
I thought it was especially weird because it's also making the unmodded game take a long time to load (I put the mods in a copy). I've looked through the log parser, but I can't seem to see anything - not that I expected to
It seems to me like the mods loading works fine, until it tries to start the game, which is what is taking so long
Any suggestions?

What config settings have you enabled for Redesigned FH Alt Version?
And what is your current house upgrade level
I have it to where it's supposed to redesign all the house upgrades and the house is currently at the child upgrade. With some experimenting, I've noticed that this bug only happens with the child's room upgrade and cellar upgrade.
This particular house mod changes the main floor and adds a second floor and attic. It does not change the cellar.
Hmm, I'm also using this RFH mod and I haven't had the issues you're describing.. 🤔
I think it's due to one of my other mods, since I noticed it happens with other house layout mods I've tried. I just can't figure out which it could be, since none of my other house mods should have anything to do with this house mod. The mod author couldn't recreate it either.
I see you have Pytk and Custom Farming Redux.. I know the former is basically obsolete now and I think the latter is super old prob not supported anymore (?)

Unless you have mods that change UI or GMCM, there won't be any change sighted right away. Also did smapi console show up before the game window?
Maybe try a patch summary and then searching your log for anything that says it patches the farmhouse tiles..?
IYDK, just type patch summary in your fully loaded game and hit enter. A bunch of stuff will print in the console. Then grab your new log to see itnall

unless you want to pay nexus, and even then it's not seamless
and won't work for non-nexus mods
stardrop removes the deleting step at least, itll delete an old version of a mod for you if you try a new version of it
Sometimes stardrop only delete the exact same folder. Better manually update still (some ja crops like wildflour in early days got added twice because the folder name of the crops got renamed so smapi detect as duplicate)

Hello! I've been trying to get my Stardew to run with Smapi, however after installling it, it crashes right after the Smapi box opens, I barely see it before it's gone. I tried to go on the Stardew Wiki page where I removed the two mods I had, reinstalled Smapi, managed to get it to open, but after I added back the two mods (with their newest version), it went back to crashing instantly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

That seems to have changed. Just today updated MARGO which changed it's folder from MARGO to "Modular Game Overhaul" and it worked ... partially. It does delete the content inside "MARGO" and puts "Modular Game Overhaul" inside it, but since subfolders are no issue for SMAPI it's fine.
For some mods, it' fine. But still better to update manually for prevention

I must've Messed up by editing the hair ID numbers for my extra CP hairs, right? (Did that to try to get around weird giant gaps in certain customization menus...)

You can make shortcut of smapi to desktop, not copy of exe file
I can't say that for sure, since I've used it just fine in the past, and I know my friends are running their games through the Desktop.
You can make a shortcut or a symlink, but copying the file will not work.

Hello, first of all I usually play split screen on pc with my little sister which causes several errors with some mods (usually graphical errors that can be ignored) But with the PPJA mega pack there is a strange bug that makes the mod crops only show on her screen and on my screen they are completely invisible which I find very annoying

ok, judging from this i think you need to:
-reinstall SVE
-reinstall vibrant pastoral for SVE
-when youre implementing the fix, drag and replace them in the recolor's asset folder, not SVE's

Did you make sure the same modules are activated for MARGO? Compare your configuration and check that it is the same.
The only one we both have off is Taxes
But aside from that, everything else is on for us both.
Do you and/or your friend have any of the Optional / Misc files for MARGO e.g.: the FTM replacer for SVE, Chargeable Resource Tools?
We did nothing different from what we've done the last four times we've downloaded it. Which is download only the main file.
Did you manually replace it or use a Mod Manager? If Mod Manager, which one?
We deleted the previous mod folder of Margo's, and then replaced it manually.
Is it a new game or did you already do some progress before? If you have progress and one of you has an enchanted dagger somewhere it might be an option to get rid of it
We don't even know how to do enchanting of our gear.
But yes, we have progress already. Year 2, Spring 1. And I don't believe either of us has an enchanted dagger.
If the enchanting involves Ginger Island, neither of us have repaired Willy's boat yet.
Do you have a normal dagger, maybe it already triggers for that? From what I can see it that it dies when trying to read a farmer (either you or him) during the join and it dies on something related to the Dagger enchantment.

I have a problem regarding possible Walk To Desert and Ridgeside Village (I use both mods).
The problem I found:
If I go left here
I come across this fork. According to the sign, left is Zuzu City, top is Ridgeside Village
- If I go to the top of the screen, nothing happens. If I walk towards the top of the screen for 1 minute after my character goes out out of the screen, I'll require 1 minute of walking down to show up on the map again
- If I go left, nothing happens
- If I go right to go back to the previous screen, nothing happens
So essentially I'm trapped here

Fixed - Open up the config.json file in Ridgeside Village/RidgesideVillage and change EnableWTDRCompat from false to true. Thanks to Wizadroid for helping 😄
what version of walk to desert you have? it could be outdated warps
although i guess the mod would just be broken if it doesn't even warp you back

linux is generally, but CP (at least generally) isn't with file paths

thats what it came up with
there is a folder named Mods inside the Mods folder. basically delete it and install the mods you want in the upper Mods folder
can i just move it to the upper one

it's easiest to delete it and reinstall the mods to the remaining Mods folder
you might wanna see inside your Mods folder something like this
move up your folders inside second Mods folder (second column). see the different between my ss and yours

so i renamed the path and set the permissions...still borked ;-;

sve is still not running
if you load a vanilla (either solo or mp) save with mods then save a day, that save will become modded save so no return to vanilla

when i leave the adventurer guild area, it starts an event that takes me to where the vanilla mine would be, except i can't move so the event freezes
and i can't skip it either
there's no errors in the log

see how it warps to Custom_AdventureSummit and then SpaceCore has it warp back to "Mountain"

I've been looking at the SVE posts and it seems to be an error with the mod itself. Several people have been posting about glitches when they enter the mountain and either failed events or being trapped where the mine entrance was meant to be.

Could be, could be a strange combination of mods. If you want to keep SVE I'd mark down the times that the mountain becomes hazardous to you and try my best to avoid them for the time being.

Multiplayer modding works like this, the host must have the mod for it to run on the world. The players who join need to have it to experience it as well. If you have a mod and join a world that doesn't you may see some assets of that mod still but it won't be running, if you join a world that has a mod but you don't you will encounter errors.
tbh making new save is recommended when adding expansion mod such as SVE

Guys my 1st time posting here and yes I am totally addicted to all the lovely Mod's out there, But I am concerned when I use a few mods I get the yellow SMAPI warning ;

Sorry if this is the wrong channel to post this in but I've just downloaded and installed smapi, attempted to run the game through the api, and this error just shows up as soon as I start on my save file. (This is my very first time running a mod sorry for the inconvenience)

I am trying to use SMAPI on my mac. I downloaded stardew valley via GOG but not GOG galaxy. SMAPI is asking for my game file but i cant find it. When I search up stardew on finder or in my files it comes up but just the game not in a folder or something

I have been trying to use that but its quite confusing. Ive finally figured out how to copy the path name by right clicking stardew valley and then opening show package contents but now it says that directory doesnt contain stardew valley directory
ah i reinstalled sampi and Stardew and now everything works fine
go deeper inside Contents? any MacOS folder in there?

usually that kind of message means save corruption and restoring a backup save can fix it (if you are not using the save anymore it's not really a problem)

Anyone having issues like this? I’m not sure which update caused it but any cutscenes that feature this area are bugging out now. I think it’s SVE that would change that area since I can’t see it being any of the other mods. No SMAPI errors while it’s happening and you can’t skip it.

hime is aware of it already, just wish it would get reverted at this point bc i think any and all events that use that position will be broken

its the mobile ones having issues due to zane alone working on it
