My game keeps constantly crashing. I literally can't play it anymore. But the error logs I get do not show anything. I do know that the smapi command shows a little bit during the crash, and it clearly shows errors. It is however completely uninteractable. Is there any place where this running code is stored? Because it certanly is not in Smapi-ErrorLogs. And Smapi-crash.txt doesn't exist.

I had someone take a look at the code, and they see no errors. I've checked through it myself (even tho I am a bit of a noob), and I can't see anywhere what said in the smapi console. :/ At least the important parts.
I do understand that the error should have been stored in smapi-latest.txt. But, like I said, he didn't see anything wrong.

nexus is the website and vortex isn't recommended at all. stardrop is our suggestion, but we still recommend learning how to mod manually

can you do patch export Maps/springobjects too

A patch export makes a copy of specific stuff in your content folder so you can see what changes have been applied.
- Load up a save (with Content Patcher installed)
- Type
patch export <FILEPATHOFTHING>in the SMAPI console and hit return - Look in your
patch exportfolder in the game folder for the relevant json file or image - If it's a json file, you can share it via smapi.io/json. If it's an image you should just be able to look at it.

their png is literally just the entire vanilla spritesheet with just the shoes change lol it's overwriting everything back to vanilla

once double clicked on, the window goes into loading, stops responding to input as if frozen or crashed, then after about 15 seconds, unfreezes back to the file explorer working again but no command window opens or program runs

Hi, I for the life of me cannot figure out for match my gates to this mods config option. I've been trying to get the gate to match with the hardwood fences but every option I change just stays the same! Side note, the only retexture pack I have enabled is DNEarthyRecolour

So for some reason, if I have say 5 Omni-Geodes in my chests at home, I can buy unlimited amounts of items from the desert shop that cost 5 omni-geodes. I had more than 5 of them in the chest at the farm, but now I'm at 5 and nothing drains it. I can't buy things that cost more than 5. Like for something that cost a ruby, it uses my rubies but as long as I have 1 in my chest, it let's me buy unlimited. I have no idea what's causing this.

is Adventurer's guild expanded and SVE not compatible? I don't get the interior of the first mod and jsut makes the guild look like it does in vanilla inside of the guild and made me bug out of the interior when exiting a cutscene.

Hello! I modded Stardew using SMAPI on my Steam Deck. It works, but I can't get that black screen that shows what needs updating and stuff. I can't get mod manager 2 to work either. It doesn't see Stardew, but it sees other games I have modded. Would anyone happen to know what I'm doing wrong?

hello, new here, I have a question, do some mods only work in singleplayer? Me and my friends all have the fantasy crops mod, and we can buy coal seeds in our singleplayer games but not in our multiplayer game, would anyone know if theres a fix or if it just works for singleplayer only?
in general, it's possible that a mod does not work in multiplayer
the PPJA Fantasy Crops is just a JsonAssets mod though, and those should be fine
i'd check if you and your friends have all the requirements for it installed too

Yeah crop mods should be fine in multiplayer make sure you all have matching mod folders
we have no red text errors, we have 3 skipped mods we think due to how Vortex mod manager does its thing, for example it skips Portraits because its not a smapi mod, even tho in game the portraits are there. It also says it has loaded the Fantasy Crops mod, I just tested in my singleplayer that coal seeds show up, but loading into the multiplayer it does not, and im the only one in the multiplayer game at the moment

this is what we were all thinking, because everything is fine in all our singleplayer farms, its only in multiplayer they dont show up, looking at our logs they all seem identical so far, so we may try this, thank you
(in general mod sharing in such a way is frowned upon, but we all agree it's the best way of doing mp with friends)
yes we did this, I was the one who downloaded and tested it all in singleplayer before zipping and uploading to google drive for the rest

Vortex also creates weird artifacts/remains so idk if it was best for you to give them the folder
I used vortex to download them in a simpler fashion, then zipped the mods folder to them, then they put it in theirs, we dont run vortex while playing or use it for anything outside the initial downloads I did

thats what it appears to do, if there is something wonky with what it does I havent been able to find it, and its still strange that we all have identical games in our singleplayer, but in multiplayer that one mod is the only one not showing in game

I doubt you will find support for vortex here anyway
From what I've seen in here, vortex deploys mods in vortex esque folders. It does not download them
And again crop mods should not be an issue especially if every other ppja mods work.
and if it doesn't deploy them like that, they create symlinks - see other Modded Game Support people
Either way - it's more likely files did not actually get sent over.
2 of the friends dont even have vortex installed, they just unzipped the folder I sent them, and their singleplayer game is identical to mine, coal seeds show up, but even if they start a multiplayer game by themselves, the coal seeds do not
but I will try the suggestions made here and I appreciate the feedback, it wont make or break our playthrough together we were just very confused why we could all do it in single but none of us could in multi

Hi! I'm having three issues I can see so far. My better fishing doesn't show up in my config menu, and thus doesn't work - the ATM mod is getting pinged as having an issue even tho it's not in my mods folder anymore (or my recycle bin) so i'm not sure how that's causing an issue - and from my understanding, it wants me to download a PyTK update even tho I can't find one

that just means the mod author didnt update the version listed in the manifest.json, you can fix that yourself if youd like!

hiyaa, got my mods all loaded and set, can run the game with everything functioning correctly but im unable create a new farm save. as soon as I click ok on the character creator it goes into loading and never ends

i wiped my mods folder because i wanted to go for a different aesthetic but now smapi doesn't want to load any of my new mods besides console commands, error handler and save backup. running smapi on 3.18.3 (i updated after the mods didn't load, thought maybe that was the issue but it isn't)

I'm new to using mods. I just got a PC late last year and I put some mods on my game. When they are loading its saying some of them need to be updated. How do you update them? I basically uninstalled them and just reinstalled them back. There has to be an easier way right?

Hey all, I added a good couple of mods to my old mod folder and started a new save file and I'm having an issue where whenever I go into the mountain area, I spawn in a wall and get stuck. I've deleted a few mods I thought were causing the issue but nothing is working. I believe I'm getting stuck in an event that conflicts with another mod, but I can't find the ID anywhere in the content.json files of my list so I'm not sure

first up, install noclip, even if you don't use it you should always have it for exactly that reason

ok so pytk doesn't absolutely need to be removed, as of now it just causes long long load times esp with cp content, so if u have mods u really like that need it, u can keep it. it will completely break in new sdv version 1.6 though, so just be aware. sorry if this is weird just didn't want to give wrong info

I installed some mods layout like, improved forest farm.... But how do i use it? There's no option to use it when i started a new farm.

i assume the mod you're mentioning replaces the vanilla forest farm map
If it doesn't need Custom Farm Loader, it is replacing the vanilla map

weird. I have a few dialogue mods downloaded but it doesn’t seem like some of them are working. it’s not showing in smapi though as an issue or error
Hi, i download this mod called casual furniture set but it doesnt work. It just says they have no alternative textures for this season
i dont think there's an easy way to tel if dialogue mods are overriding the other unless you go into the files and check for yourself which people say which lines which day
those kinds of things don't show up on your smapi log bc it's not an error
it's just an overlap, but it's not harmful

Well, there aren't any errors in here at all
You can use the Stardrop mod manager, it makes updating mods less tedious I find. But otherwise, yeah
I think dialouge mods, like any others, the mod that is loaded last in your mod load order, usually alphabetically, will take priority.

I wouldnt tag people like that but you do you. About starblue valley it works with the current game version no problem and rule of thumb is if a mod author does not state the mod is abandoned then it is not abandoned

Linux is case sensitive when no other platform is by default.

I reinstalled it and reset content files and now it loads but gives me those errors

most i can say is double check that path
theres also a missing mod (pytk) and what seems like an xnb mod in the mods folder (which should be sorted out or use a CP version instead)
if it does exist there, it likely corrupted or just broke somehow
since its trying to load a file from a path, but niether seem to exist from the look of it
pytk is mostly void at the moment
a lot of mods removed their dependency on it
smapi is throwing an error for it, so if the mod removed the dep it shouldnt throw it
If you have an error saying you're missing PYTK, you can edit the manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

I have a modded save that was created on PC (windows) that I am trying to play on steam deck (linux)
when I load it up, smapi starts throwing errors on a bunch of my content patcher mods saying something about microsoft .net framework (which makes sense) and directories not being found (though the directories are there)
anyone have experience cross-playing a save from windows to linux? is there a proton version I could run the game through that would avoid the .net framework errors?
yeah, I literally zipped the whole 'Mods' folder and sent it over, so that should be identical
does the system have Mono installed?
.net on linux is typically monogame iirc
having mono should fix it, if not you can force it to use proton instead and itll just install the windows version, but thats something to avoid having to do if it can be avoided
mono might be tricky to install though
from what im reading, steamos is locked down, so installing via pacman isnt exactly possible without risking losing after os updates

okay, so youd need to run the windows version
to do this, youd need to open the preferences of SDV in steam and then go to compatibility and force enable it (proton 6, 7 or experimental should work), then it will replace the stardew install with the windows version (back up mods beforehand)
another thought I had: Im not actually that far in the save so I wouldnt mind starting over, but I do want to be able to play on both platforms, would I run into similar problems if I started a save on linux and then loaded it up in windows?

possibly performance and maybe some weird anomalies, but thats likely from wine/proton itself
Try using pytk lite?
i think that would be the only case where you still need the old pytk, ive seen a few people mention issues with rescaling when using cp + pytk hd portraits, but if you want to get rid of pytk completely, you can make the change to portraiture which doesn't need pytk and can achieve the same thing

someone else and i played modded for the first time today and we had a lot of fun, i was just wondering something; let's say i want to add more/different mods because i also want to play on another save and they don't, can we still play together in the save we made today? or would that complicate things by a lot?
are there any tips/tricks for it perhaps?
I'd make 2 mod folders
1 for multiplayer 1 for solo
And not load the saves without the according folder active

i made a new folder in my mod folder called mods but in caps LOL so i could make that my multiplayer mod folder and just make an extra folder, to add the mods i'd want but the other person wouldn't?

ah..... I didn't realize pytk was no longer compatible....
I still use it and it doesn't bug my game
any idea what could be bugging it? The only other mods I recall having that edit the house edits the cellar and what the house looks like on the outside, so I'm reallt at a loss.
It's not that pytk bugs your game, it just makes it infinitely slower

ah if the rainbow spots are the recolor, you'd have to change the content.json of the recolor but without looking at how wittily does it, i couldn't tell you how to edit it

i did just go through updating everything so i dont know why some are still saying update... but oddly the shipping bin retexture does apply in winter? i havent tried other seasons. i also see that foliage is missing spring objects but i had just now reinstalled it 🤔

could be a bug in most recent update, try rolling it back to second newest version and see if u still get error
