Hi! Can you try installing
Going back through your earlier discussions, you said vanilla works. But now it apparently doesn't anymore? Did you change anything in the game folder since it was working?
Running AtraCore, should I install both of these interaction tweaks or only one?
if i try vanilla it runs fine but if i run smapi then it just doesnt run at all

Hmm. Something's causing a hard crash/exit. The game suddenly ends after this line, without running the Dispose line or going into the catch block.

What security software do you have installed?
malwarebytes
Can you temporarily shutdown/disable malwarebytes, then see if it still happens?
I mean you could have turned it off rather than uninstalled
But if it works, then at least it's an easy antivirus thing?

Have you already tried running it through the command line like that in safe mode? It'd be useful to know whether it stops at the exact same place ("Waiting for game to launch..." with nothing after), or if it fails at a different place.

Yeah, that error is normal in safe mode. So it launches the game, the game crashes, and SMAPI correctly handles the game ending (note "Game has ended" at the bottom).
do you know what is wrong?
That narrows it down slightly, but still not sure what's causing it. My best guess is either (a) something installed on your computer is interfering with and exiting the process, or (b) the game code does something which triggers a hard crash. Normally the latter would happen in vanilla too though, if you're sure you tried the dedicated graphics card fix already.
I think at this point the next steps would be running custom builds of SMAPI or the game to track down exactly where it's failing. I can't do that today, but if you're interested we could do that tomorrow.

I mean, you can't go back to vanilla on a file played with mods
you will always have to run error handler with SMAPI for that file to be "vanilla" now

So I was messing with the modpack im making and everything was working fine. I added two new mods and all the sudden mod organizer is saying it cant find the modding api. I tried uninstalling the mods I downloaded and its still popping up. Any suggestions on how to fix it w/o deleting the whole instance of mo2?
if i dont have a folder named Mods in my game files, am I safe to create a folder that says mods and can work the same way?

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. oh wait. Maybe that will work. Cuz with mo2 it doesnt launch off of steam but directly off of smapi installed with the organizer. But there is an option to launch it off steam so maybe that will work.

ha okay, I figured it out. I did reinstall smapi onto the steam files and reset the launch options. Despite the fact that it worked perfectly before and then broke randomly it works now

Bumping this, how do I ensure that an error log is created so we can see what's wrong?
As long as smapi runs, it will make log. If no log was made, then you never run smapi at all
There's a log there (I posted it) but there aren't any errors on it
So when you make a farm and click ok, it quickly crash or crash when loading happens?
there's a weirdly long loading time between when I open SMAPI and when stardew actually boots, then there's one crash when I press the "host" button within co-op, if I wait long enough this recovers, and then another crash when I select a farm and it's loading, it hasn't recovered from this with waiting

downloaded stardrop mod manager and now the dogs file from elle's animals for at isn't even registering to smapi

You can use elle animal replacement for AnS. Check under file in every elle's mods
Could you check inside the folder, itās not empty and thereās a texture.json file
The content of the dog folder should look almost the same as the cats.
1 json file and the rest are texture pngs
iāll double check but iām 90% sure thatās what the folder looks like

yet the fish well is stuck at 4 fish. i've even done the 5 fish quest but its still stuck at 4
yeah i checked every file, they all have the texture json and then texture pngs for each dog skin seperated by collar color
whats wild is it was working perfectly last night, it didnt stop working until i downloaded stardrop today
i fully deleted the dog file and redownloaded it just in case too
and it's enabled in stardrop so i don't know why it isn't registering like the other files
just curious, are you opening through stardrop?
try opening smapi normally and see if it loads

alright dogs are fixed, i'll just have to launch from smapi which is fine

Anyone expecting a glitch with the placement of the adventures guild and the mines? I have SVE installed but both buildings are in its vanilla locations. I go inside the vanilla adventures guild and come out itās at itās SVE location but as i go down the stairs my character ends up here

East Scarp, Jasper, and Jorts and Jean I have, and this doesn't happen
So test disable the Wild Animals, Daniel, Nikolai, Aspen, Raffadax, SirensCaravan, and Ayeisha mods, see if it still exists (without saving)
I bet itās the sirens caravan because everything worked before i added that mod
My guess is it improperly edits the entire map
Also would u mind taking a look at whatās going on with my kitchen.. if it too much of a chore because of the errors i understand

No mater what cp i add my kitchen stays vanilla.. Iāve combed threw my mods making sure i donāt have 2 mods fighting to override each other even tried to put āzā in the beginning to load my kitchen mod last and nothing.. i thought it was just that mod but Iāve tried several others and still nothing

You need to merge the kitchen you want with the farmhouse tilesheet that you drop into the assets folder

None of your mods deal with moving buildings
If you're trying to move vanilla buildings, specify which you're attempting to move

also, does red text happen when you try to move buildings?

I'm not using a controller do I need one?, trying to move any building in my. farm with Robin but when I try to it won't let me navigate the map or move the cursor so no red text in game but I get red text in my. terminal idk if. that's the one

what I didn't quite get is how to replace a save file with a backup one
hm, i haven't seen backups as loose files like that, but i guess you'd need to remove the .bak portion and everything after it from the name and then put them in a folder that's named after the save like other saves are. the backups made by the smapi-installed save-backup mod should already have all the files in correct folders. the easiest way is using the native backup though if it works
hello, i was wondering about playing SVE for the first time, and i saw a video on how to download it, that seems all fine and good but i have questions about how it affects my vanilla game?
like if i launch the steam version after playing modded, will that save file just not exist? or will it corrupt if i attempt to open it

I'm trying to cut down load time with getting rid of some basic mods I don't use
I mean if you're trying to cut down on load time, you'll want to get rid of PyTK (and any mods that depend on it) and install SpriteMaster

try removing 1 or 2 packs and try to apply that retexture
or remove all retexture except for the bed thats not working, and try to apply texture
of that bed
if it works without all the AT packs, it means you need to cut down
at one instance, one of my bed retexture start to bleed
i removed a pack thats not so important and its working again

Update mods on both sides. You guys have different versions of mods So the net code error is The game trying to account for things that aren't In one version but are in another

According to the SMAPI log its two files missing, or at least the Content Patcher tries to get two files, which dont exist; Mountain.tbin and LeahHouse.tbin

Theyāre unrelated so yes you should be able to remove RSV without removing SVE.
Generally advise removing any items from RSV (like any forageables etc)

I've only changed the item ID values for required items and rewards, keeping the syntax as similar as possible to the original version, which works. I've done no new coding.
Check if any item ID is typo'd?

However all of the cutscenes and events relating to the Junimo Woods, Aurora Vineyard, Secret Grove etc. will only trigger for me and they are unable to see or interact with any of it. Is there any advice or is this a known issue.

make sure SMAPI and your mods are fully updated, that definitely was to some extent a problem before, but I vaguely thought it was fixed? you might want to ask the SVE server

@lament prairie @vestal dust I got it working. It was indeed a syntax error (missed 0 for item quality normal, was using value 399 for item quality hence the overflow). Thank you for the help/reassurance.

Fun fact for anyone trying it with non vanilla items. You can use the items by name, but not if said name has a . in it (like the stuff from love of cooking). It's killed me a couple of times
any reason why after using debug weapon xxx i lose control of my character...or bascially keybaord doesn't respond to game

hard to do more than take random guesses without a log
no logs other than the normal [Console Commands] Sent debug command to the game, but there was no output.
a few people have come here with problems with their game freezing when they use a weapon
im not entirely sure of the cause, but if you type debug canmove it should unfreeze you

Ok I am having some dang trouble with this more giant crops mod. I downloaded an asset pack, put it into the assets folder of the giant crops mod, and yet it is STILL telling me that I must install an asset pack. What the heck am I doing wrong?
oh and one more question. why does my smapi say I need to update the Ginger Island Extra Location mod when I have done so?
the mod author likely forgot to change the version in the manifest. either ignore it or change it yourself

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

If you know what mods you're downloading, it's fairly easy to tell.
Retextures? Barely noticeable. Expansions? You will feel the stutters if your Pc isn't super great.

Cuz I solved my weird encroaching darkness water problem by disabling the water reflections from DR. [Still meaning to let the author know/hoping for a real fix]
But I have SS from before and after the weird voided bg ones that are normal looking š¤ š¬

(This isn't even a game-breaking issue, I just find it very strange and wanna know why it happens and prob just make it Not happen anymore if I can control it.)

I did that. The only thing I did different for the forest farm was select the forest farm. Does that mean the mod/farm type is just broken?

Create a map with IF2R, Select three cabins (total of four players), Walk outside,open options menu,scroll down all the way to the bottom, Put the screenshot to 25%, Take a screenshot, Then post the screenshot in here

I am using a specific profile on stardrop. Before this, I was just running the game with SMAPI using all my mods. I thought that might be the problem bc it was working when I ran all the mods but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
this is my first time modding and I can't seem to get any mod to work (including stardew valley expanded). I extracted all the zipped files in the mods folder created by smapi. does anyone have any insights/what is the best way to troubleshoot installed mods?

could I be missing an sve mod or something? Or should I just go about deleting and re-installing?

You may also want to check this list of XNB > Content Patcher conversions (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Using_XNB_mods#Alternatives_using_Content_Patcher) to see if there are already replacements for any XNB mods you may have been using :)
As a test, disable Auto Eat, Auto Grab Truffles, Community Center Helper, Supply Hay Stack Silo, Fishing Info Overlays, PelicanTTS, Range Highlight, and TakeABreak if resetting files doesn't work. If that still doesn't get you cabins on your map, disable Earthy Recolour and try
do that AFTER testing the reset and then retry
But first just try resetting game files
