doesnt make sense to me that she could join on a new farm but not our main one
well her smapi needs a reinstall due to that older error handler/save backup/etc.

Her character is there on my screen but she cant play, but if we load into a new game she can move and play

That can randomly occur even with good internet connection, in the 1.6 update it's planned to be fixed. However, if red text is showing up on their smapi console it may be a different issue
Try better chests or chests anywhere they're both compatible with about anything but I'd still look through the mod pages

hey i wanted to know for ptyk do i have to download the PTYK lite and remove the regular PTYK version?
Ptyk is unreccomended for use because in the next stardew update it will become deprecated and unusable. Additionally, it lengthens load time significantly.
The author's other mods no longer require PTYK if that is why you're using it

Hahaha, it went from just small expansion mods, and now it's also got some pretty niche mods
Normally about 5mins to load in and 5mins to save after a day? But that's with spritemaster reducing the load time by A LOT

That's great to hear! If you're concerned about load time or just want the game to be more stable I recommend "spritemaster" because it improves the load significantly and if you don't like the smoothing effect you can turn it off

This happens everytime I open my game, it wasnt happening until I got a second monitor. No mods have been updated or any config files. sent the wrong video the first time so deleted and resending (same video really but this is 30 seconds compared to a full 2.5 minutes)

Unfortunately, hard to tell who, I would do a sublime find in files or a grep search through your entire mods dir for the string "y 3," and "y 2,"

Whenever I load SMAPI it says that it cant load JsonAssets because there are two copies, even though there's only one in my mods folder. When I uninstall it, SMAPI then says that JsonAssets is missing JsonAssets.dll, despite there being no JsonAssets folder. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to put the portrait (png files) into portrait folder inside Portraiture
Also no need to install PyTK anymore
But idk if custom spouse patio still needs PyTK or not

not possible. i recommend grabbing aster's beam and kitchen mod and editing the kitchen yourself to match aster's layout. that way, you can have a ton of kitchen replacements without worrying about conflicts

Reinstall. Those should exist, so it's much more likely you're using a mod manager and the files got eaten or your antivirus ate the files

For some reason 3 mods that comes with smapi is on older version than smapi itself. Try delete those 3 (ConsoleCommand, ErrorHandler and SaveBackup) and reinstall smapi

Hi everyone. I'm new to the Discord, and relatively new to modded Stardew. One of the mods I installed is CJBCheatsMenu and I used the Advanced tab to complete some quests. While it completed the Magic Ink and Dark Talisman quest and obtained the wallet items, I can't get into the Mutant Bug Lair because I can't trigger Krobus to remove the force field. Does anyone know of amy SMAPI console commands I might use to fix this?

the dots in front of the folder name make the mods not load

What do you mean it still doesn't work? According to your prior issue, you had older mods and didn't have Error Handler. Error Handler is loading just fine and it matches your current SMAPI version

Don't know if this is the right area to ask, but I've been trying for several hours (3 Days) to figure out how to modify a certain portrait during a modded event (Romanceable Rasdmodia/SVE) using the HDPortraits mod. The specific event is the 4 Heart Shrine of Illusion event where [SPOILERS] Rasmodia takes the farmer into the basement and teaches them to use the Shrine of Illusions [END SPOILERS].

I'm pretty sure Rasmodia has all those portraits default with Rasmodia?
The problem is that the mod author couldn't figure out how to modify the portrait during the event so I've been trying to figure it out myself and failing miserably. BTW the mod I'm using is (Vile's HD Bachelorette Portraits).

if you patch the entire portrait set with a portrait for each expression, then it will automatically pull it from there.

Well, first, that's a little ridiculous code wise and I have opinions... but second, that means that you'd have to do the same thing in HD portraits
(Ridiculous as it loads a two portrait file.... during an event. Why not just editimage?)

I have noticed while searching for alternative portraits that there are currently no HDPortraits mod that work for this specific event.
At least those I've tested.
Even the mod author him/herself has admitted to not having a clue on how to modify this event portrait.

I don't mind waiting for the stable version of latest SMAPI for Android to come out, but it seems like that won't fix my problems if I still can't get it to install and function in Android/data/, where it's meant to be... I use CX File Explorer and have given permissions where requested by the SMAPI Installer. I bought the game through Google Play Store and it is on the latest update. I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff so any help is greatly appreciated, though no rush.

Hey, I've been messing around with the config file for @oblique jay 's Dynamic Reflections. So far, it hasn't worked the way I want, so at this point, I'm wondering if what I'm wanting is possible.
I'm using DR with Visible Fish mod, and even at it's darkest stage, I'd like to see both star reflections and at least the silhouette of the fish in the water (like this photo). Is this possible?
It loads two cause pink haired Razzy is a separate temporary NPC used only for like 5 seconds of the event, not the main Razzy. No idea why I did it like that a long time ago, but as long as it works.. π

Just upgraded my house to level 2... and my bed was broken. It clipped through another bed I had placed. So I redid the day and took out ALL the furniture of the room, but still clipped bed
any way how to fix? or remove it? I can sleep in it, and sleeping in it does not fix it.

I installed it, ran it, and decided I don't want it anymore, but... the functionality has stuck even after removing the mod folder and running SMAPI again
there is physically nothing for SMAPI to load into the game from the mod, but yet it still prompts me if I want to eat my bombs and eat my paths so I cannot place anything. Is there a known workaround?
Yesterday I spent about ~3h going through every Mod Config option to configure my game and today EVERYTHING is reset. does anyone have any idea on what happened? I also went and changed the thing in the config file itself but it resets again on start.

hi all, i've been using smapi for a bit and having it connected to steam
and yes, i have been getting achievements but.. a few of them for some reason i've not got despite having them in game, for example the ol' mariner (24) despite having mother catch (100 fish) or moving up despite having the first house upgrade (which is what the achievement requires) and even ones like gofer that require you to complete 10 help wanted requests

Is there a clear way to find out how a specific mod manipulates a game's files?
Snack Anything's effects last even without the mod being loaded in my mod folder. I can't figure out how to turn off the right click placing being overridden by right click "Eat this bomb?" "Eat this stone path?"

You need to keep them inside the SVE folder
You are also missing the STF part unless that's inside the SVE folder you got there
But you don't have to move the folders outside or rename the folder it comes in when you unzip them

When you unzip SVE zip file, it already comea with a folder named Stardew Valley Expanded. Inside that folder, there are subfolder and one particular folder named StardewValleyExpanded. That folder needed so you got error that [CP] and [STF] part isn't loaded. That's why you need to let the folder be after unzipping the SVE zip file

As for general troubleshoot on mp session, try to get exact same version and amount of mod to minimize the cause of error. Then if the problem still occurs, share log from all player. Also sometimes othe people will try to help if they know how to solve your problem (not necessarily me)
yeah we both have all the same versions as we nuked our mods folders to start fresh. But thank you very much for responding!

this is literally textbook mod mismatch though, so you definitely need to share your logs later
Stuff like Sailor Styles if one person has it and the other doesn't cause the forest to fail to load.
so the log will tell us if your mods truly are matched, and if they are, then the text will help show what's up
we have the exact same mods as we went through getting them together, but ofc ill have to get both logs later
Every time I upgrade my house, the night it upgrades, my game crashes. I got rid of my daisytiles thing and it fixes it, but gets rid of my modded farm layout. And if I keep the tiles, the doors in my house are broken

Remove your farmhouse mod while the farmhouse is upgrading

Depending on the amount of mods you have affects how long it takes smapi to load. I reccomend either waiting some time or add spritemaster to improve performance

You can turn off the smoothing affect by pressing F11

it doesnt take long, it pretty much loads then a second later shuts off

I thought maybe Better Water.. I turned off the extra settings and set the water recolor as "normal" and it made no difference π

so part of the problem is that android smapi is still in alpha and a lot of functions still aren't working. looks like most of Starblue Valley isn't actually loading for you. most CP mods don't currently work well on android so to fix almost anything, you'll just have to wait until android smapi updates

its like i can never mod the game at all ;~;
My problem ended up being that I had the whole folder that you get when you initially download SMAPI in my Stardew Valley folder (because I had to take it out of the zipped folder to run it and thought it was asking me to put the good stuff into the Stardew folder). SO I put it back in downloads and ran it as normal and now we good :)

It has added code to allow you to control which folder you use for mods (I use it to swap different packs when I'm on different farms)

Hello @tired brook! Sorry to ping you. SMAPI keeps crashing on @verbal perch , even if only Error Handler is installed. I've already run them through the troubleshooting steps, they've reinstalled SMAPI multiple times, I also had them try the test build you made for taco cat a while back and same thing happens. Vanilla runs just fine. Their game is in the D drive, would that have anything to do with it? Any suggestions?
