Alright then... I've been troubleshooting this bug for a while and can't seem to get it fixed. Lung dragons and BFAV seem to be having problems. I'm on the unofficial BFAV patch (3.2.4). I am new to modding stardew so its entirely possible this is just me doing something very stupid.

-ignorethisitsforreference is for portrait files that I had to replace in other mods to change hair color of sebastian. I keep it in there incase I have to replace it again
-I have no clue what i18n is. Maybe its the root of all my problems.
-Pytk actually does not need to be updated im pretty sure, as its just talking about the lite version.
-I have the update for wind effects downloaded and will apply it next time I run the game, however it doesnt actually seem to be broken on my current release
-fashion sense trolled me and updated yesterday. Also downloaded it and will apply it next launch.
-Game still runs absolutely fine until I try to purchase animals from Marnie. It just cycles back to the menu after I click it (when you see that beautiful red error at the end). No other problems on my end.
Any help or insight would be very appreciated. Lung dragons do actually appear and animate fine outside of marnie's shop, and I long to have a few of my own.

I need help with my mods! Smapi will not play audio for me. I've disabled all other mods. I've restarted my pc (actually I just factory reset it), I've checked my mixer, I've checked my audio device, I've checked everything. I don't know what to do

I found a lost book while fishing and it just stayed in my inventory, happened a second time later.
so some of my MNF fish turned invisible a few days ago and i've been trying to figure out how to get them back since. fresh install of MNF didn't work, removed trinkets mod which someone else had had problems playing nice with MNF (also did not work), removing vibrant pastoral recolor temporarily also did not work. im down to prayer at this point can someone please explain this to me like i'm 5 ðŸ˜
i noticed the invisible fish after installing spritemaster so i'm currently trying w/o spritemaster to see if that, somehow, is the culprit

Unfortunately, I don't know what the solution is... if you can possibly remember if you added a mod on the day it happened... and if that mod had Json Assets items in it... that might? fix it. But I don't really understand what's going on and there doesn't seem to be a consistent solution 😦

if it was an atra math error it would happen consistently. The inconsistency was what was confusing me
Like, I installed a bunch of random mods people thought conflicted with it
why does uninstalling or changing other stuff sometimes get SM to suddenly let it work again? 
(I am now on an older build of Spritemaster b/c of the other bugs the recent version has plus I removed MNF to make room for Trinkets which hilariously I also ended up uninstalling for other reasons.... so I think I wouldn't encounter this again for a while but it's so bizarre)

People are actually hitting index 710 in bigcraftables 
so i figured out the bug ive been having. the bag spaces are not always associated with the item in the box. the tool is highlighted but the popup is for the item below

yes, there's no fix afaik. unless the mod author can do it themselves, there's nothing you can do but get used to the weird placement or delete the mod

ok... the plot thickens. Looks like its actually a problem with another mod, AnimalShopConditions. Uninstalled that, installed BFAV and lung dragons, and everything works as it should!
Hello! I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I'm playing modded with a friend of mine, we've done it before without a problem. We started a new game, were going fine, was able to go into Cindersap Forest no problem. On day 8, I suddenly can't go into Cindersap without it black screening and my smapi going haywire with red text. I have the smapi log if it will help. I took out things that weren't working, all my mods are up to date, and my friend and I have pretty much exactly the same mods, except for one or two cosmetic ones.

Person B: Better Ranching, CJB Item Spawner (this one is fine), Fishing Rod Recolor, Friendship Booster, Lookup Anything (should be fine), Sailor Styles (definitely a problem), SkipFishingMinigame. Honestly person B has the problem mod but less problems
Content pack wise, there's a couple differences, but the only one I'm worried about there is pigeon_mail

Hi there, just a quick question. On the East Scarp mod, there's an optional file to download that lets characters use the Bus to fast travel to there. It says that it needs the "Bus Location" mod for obvious reasons. But do I drop the optional file into the main Bus Location mod or are they separate things?

It looks like somehow, all of the "vanilla" tilesheets are in the CP folder rather than all in their own folder.

i think it's shift + right click on the application in your computer files for smapi itself, then you should be able to choose 'copy as path'? not sure exactly since youre on mac

It said to paste the folders into the main mods folder and to overwrite the EventLookup, Reminders etc folders
The folders aren't empty though
The Grampleton error I know how to get rid of
it's supposed to replace the corresponding images in those mods probably, so the mods need to already be installed. if they were it's possible that you overwrote the folders instead of merging them i guess, so they don't contain all the mod files anymore

it's in the mod folder, manifest.json file. but if you already downloaded the newest version you can ignore it, it just gives you that false update notice

Most common mistake mod author does is forgot to update its mod version number. If you just update that mod but smapi still ask to update, that's manifest error. You can ignore it

Morning all! I decided to give my SDV a fresh start by downloading a bazillion mods to make it seem like a different game, lol. I have SDE, Ridgeside, and East Scarp, and thankfully the only issues I've been experiencing are these weird graphic ones. It looks like SDE's new areas aren't loading in correctly. I'm using DaisyNikos's Earthy Recolor + the waterfall fix, map fix for the immersive farm 2, and Deon's Ridgeside earthy recolor... has anyone seen this? Googling has been unhelpful so far lol

Ahhh figured it out. Stardew Valley Reimagined isn't compatible with SVE or Way Back Pelican Town. Ah well!

Sometimes mods get flagged by overzealous antiviruses. If you're really worried about viruses in mods you can:
- download from Nexus or Moddrop, which check all files for viruses automatically
- preview the file contents on Nexus to see what you're downloading (content packs containing only images and json files are highly unlikely to be viruses)
- view the source code for most C# mods on Github by going to smapi.io/mods and checking the advanced options

gh's body is kind of buggy with the sleeves. someone here was working on a fix but until the mod author gives the permission to share it, there's nothing you can do about the sleeves except reload your config every time you start the game

i never actually used their skintones so im not sure what that issue is about, you can try to disable it and see what happens

My partner is having a weird problem where her modded livestock turn into vanilla livestock overnight. Has this happened to anyone else? It seems like it's happening to animals from various mods
[#6006] "so, I know BFAV isn't really supported much anymore, and will be going away entirely with SMAPI 4, but I wanted to share what I found with the community in case it might help anybody else who's still using it. Sorry as well for the wall of text.
After some additional testing, I'm 95% confident that the bug which turns BFAV animals into vanilla chickens/cows comes in 2 forms. The first is a visual glitch that affects every BFAV animal on the farm, lasting 1 or more days, during which their sprite is replaced by the vanilla chicken's/cow's sprite, but they still make the correct sounds and correct products. If you try to move them between buildings, the tooltip still calls them their appropriate BFAV names. This glitch seems to be triggered on the morning when a BFAV animal reaches maturity and loses its (baby) label. Closing and restarting your game will usually fix this. Passing the day and sleeping through the night usually also fixes it, but it may take 2-3 nights in some cases. In rare cases, I noticed that our animals visually returned to normal even without sleeping, I assume due to some farm map reload, but I don't know the specifics of what caused it. This form of the glitch is purely visual and temporary, albeit scary at first.
The second form is not visual. It's triggered by the first glitch occurring on BFAV animals that are still not mature and have their (baby) labels on the morning that the first glitch is triggered. When this happens, all BFAV baby animals will be turned into chickens/cows. The first day this happens, it appears to be the first form, because the animals will put out BFAV products on that first day. However, if you try to move them between buildings, they have already become white chickens and white cows. If you save and quit, or if you sleep through the night, you'll find that all of the babies will in fact have permanently turned into chickens/cows. They're always white chickens and white cows too, I assume because that's

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). If that doesn’t work (and no one comes around with more knowledge) I’d suggest reposting it later bc this is usually kind of a quieter time on the server
Try add back CF and its pack that you've placed inside your house. Let the house got upgrade, then get rid furniture added by CF, then delete CF and its content pack again

Farm map doesn't have compat with recolor
If you go into the farm map, you'll find a spritesheet and you'll have to manually edit it to match your recolor

That works to fix the waterfall issue on grandpa farm, I think maybe checking if there is a confirmation option in sve to see if there is comparability tilesheets :)
That looks like a vanilla ground tile ( recoloured of course ) and should not require an additional SVE compatibility. Does that discoloration appear in every instance of the tiles? Maybe there is another mod messing these few tiles? ( and the pathway to the shipping bin has some strange discoloration as well ) Check your log to see what mods edit the seasonal outdoorsTileSheet.

Still, the discoloration is most likely the mod i linked. You have Vibrant Pastoral recolour editing that tilesheet then It's overwritten by Earthy Recolour and then That mod edits it partially to match the VP again. Removing either the linked mod or Earthy Recolour should solve the problem.

i been playing with my boyfriend for hours and we lost our progress 2 times because my game kept crashing
this is what smapi terminal throws everytime it crashes
and the thing is i dont even do anything it just crashes

my game does launch, we play for hours and it crashes out of no where in game

okay so the errorlogs folder does exist but the screenshots one doesn't
but the .local folder doesnt exist in general

hello, im installing the kids schoolhouse mod, and it says to do a new save OR get a mod that can move bushes. I do not know what mods can do that and really want to use this mod on my current save.
I have a lot of mods installed but im not sure if one I have already can move bushes or not

It's because the last time I updated it Pillow didn't exist on 3.11 (and I was still on 3.8)
(that pillow is unrelated to me, it's Python Imaging Library and the low... from somewhere)

on windows it's py by default unless you specifically choose in the installer to have python

they could do pip list so it’s in the path
they might have the windows version and the version from the site installed lol
I believe my short instructions are more vague on windows but my long screenshot instructions are correct

Hmm, for some reason the three animals I had born last night became cows when they should have been (modded) goats. The same species of goat gave birth the night before though with no issue.

yes I have the game completely closed
the dates changed on my file from the 16th, it now says 17th, is something overwriting them
left is the save backup loaded in the game, right is the backup save before extracted into the game file
Can you completely delete the save loaded and unzip the right screenshot to that folder?

Could be steam/gog cloud save messing the save so it always try to load the newest save found by the cloud
