With Unique children, there is a possibility you can hodgepodge one of the child files to have the appearance of Sterling's coloring.

Yeah definitely try, then you're probably going to have to run powershell slash check event viewer to figure out why it's crashing to desktop

Issue: I am trying to insert an item into " the missing " bundle. game goes crazy, cannot access the bundle (doesn't come up on screen), game makes a buzzing sound, I can't leave the room nor teleport out even with a totem. no way to continue playing the game, i have to exit the game. also! if i try clicking the community bundle tab when you're in the E menu (after clicking E and u gets the menu pop uplike normal), that doesn't work either

Hey I was trying to install smapi on chromebook linux beta and was running into an error. Game runs great so no problems with the actual chromebook performance.

It's because there are spaces in the name
So you need to surround path names with quotes
Also looks to me like you need to chmod recursive
got the same error with the quotes, I don't understand what chmod recursive is and how I would use it here

okay. I am ... EXTREMELY confused, and would love someone to help. I'm tracing down the issue I was having before where I was unable to place the Tea Keg from the Raffadax mod. After extensive testing and loading and reloading, I have found that if I remove ONLY the big craftables folder from the JA portion of the chocolatier mod, the issue goes away. Thus, all of the pieces of everything WORK with the exception of the fact that I have no way to make any fancy chocolates, since I don't have a cauldron (which is obviously caused by the fact that I removed it).
But for the absolute life of me, I cannot understand what it is about the cauldron specifically that makes it impossible to place the tea keg as a machine. I'm happy to send logs, but I'm not entirely sure what combination of logs would be the most useful.
And just maybe ... help?

hey so the issue i’m having is none of my adopt&skin commands outside of list_creatures seem to do anything, and the person i play with’s game crashes roughly twice an hour at randoms points, they use a copy of my mod folder

I want to ask how does AT work in multiplayer? I am assuming both players needs to retexture the stuff on their end to see the visual changes or?
IIRC, AT works as follows
If person A retextures something, then no one else sees the changes unless they have the same AT pack in their modlist
if they do, then the one person changes it for all people
so if Player 1 has an AT mod, and so does P2, but P3 doesn't have, then if P1 retextures something, P2 sees it but P3 won't

hi all, i've been playing a stardew world with my mom for a time now, I have a mod that upgraded my greenhouse, and when it upgraded everything glitched out with it. It now looks like the basic greenhouse, and everything is misplaced you could say

21:52:50 ERROR Content Patcher Two content packs want to load the 'Maps/Greenhouse' asset (GreenhouseUpgrades.CP and Immersive Farm 2 Remastered). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.

Basically, for whatever reason, I think you can't have Tea Keg be at the index it's at. Adding extra indexes to the Chocolate Cauldron is helping push it farther down the sheet. I have no idea why there's a secret forbidden index down there, I suspect it could have something to do with how big craftables and objects share class in C#
It's upset because you told it it had 2 extra indexes (a lie) and didn't have the png, lol (sorry, I should have read the docs more closely)

B. Mod authors (both the ones for the mods and the ones around rn) will be doing a big psuh to help make sure nothing breaks
There's going to be a long beta period where we tidy everything up, prepare, and map out the bugs

ayyyy I got it to work, I just installed it manually following the readme.txt and when it didn't load at first I deleted the startup preferences and used the command "chmod u=rwx,g=r,o=r StardewValley" when it said permission denied. So steam(installed through linux beta) stardew valley with mods is possible on chromebook.

if you want "make up", you need to take away Enhanced Player Sprites
and fyi - yes. Without any fixes in place, the tea keg places in the water just fine.

there are no error messages or anything on the log so not much to go on with
except if you replaced anything in the game's Content folder, verify the game files on steam to see if it helps

already tested: removing daisyniko's tilesheets, and spritemaster. neither are the culprit ignore this. i didn't correctly remove spritemaster, that was the issue
Are you downloading from nexus collection? If yes, it's not recommended as it can contain old/outdated mod. Install SVE and all its dependencies manually

with 99% of mods from nexus you will not need to “merge” bc you will be able to use content patcher and mix your changes that way

No, nothing at all. *edit Here's what I've done so far: Right clicked SDV app and went to Properties, checked file integrity, one file found that needed replacing. Launched again, and it's still not launching with mods. Then I temporarily removed whole Mods folder, launched non-primary save, it started to load, then crashed to desktop. Out of ideas now.

pretty sure VPR adds that, which is normally fine but because you're using Elle's town houses, it's not fitting quite right
that's odd, because in the example screenshots for VPR they use elle's town houses...
they don't...? Elle's Town Houses were created after VPR
oh right, they were using seasonal buildings. got it mixed up mb
VPR uses the normal town houses but recolors them and adds decorations and stuff
in VPR's config you can turn off holiday decor. You can see if that helps solve the issue

It was an old save, not sure if it was ever launched modded.

I was able to launch and create a new toon. I guess that old-save must have been launched w/mods since it won't open without crashing.

The CP version of DC Burger uses „EditImage“ which currently would only work with old PyTk. To make it work, search-replace every „EditImage“ with „Load“ in the content.json. If somehow that doesn‘t help, remove PyTK Lite and install Portraiture, it has a slightly different method to handle oversized portraits injected with „Load“

removing mods probably won't change anything with it working on the tracker, but removing mods and reopening and saving the game after means that any changes to the save by something like error handler won't apply

I used it at first but i removed that since it did not deploy correctly, I manually added the mods afterwards

I really want to get SMAPI on Stardew valley on my deck. I downloaded the installer, and when it says to “drag and drop the install on Linux.sh into the terminal window”, it just tells me “no such file or directory”. What am I doing wrong? I have watched a video… tried to follow several tutorials…. The konsole (terminal) will not run this file. I thought this would be easy but it’s really turning me off from trying mods and I’m just so frustrated. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
How much Linux experience do you have? If you're interested in modding on a steam deck, the operating system is Linux, specifically Arch Linux, which means it may be quite unfamiliar if you're used to Windows, for example
I don't personally know enough about the steam deck to diagnose your issue, but it's possible looking up resources on how to use the terminal more generally would help?
If there are any specific error messages, please include a picture/screenshot

Ok, thank you for the response. I will grab a screen shot when I can. There’s tutorials and videos online of how to do it… and in all of them they just say to “drag and drop” the linux.sh file into the terminal, but for me it doesn’t work.
dragging and dropping is not a method I associate with "running shell files"
like, at all.
That's either an arch-specific thing (which may not necessarily be on SteamDeck)
the best way is to navigate to that directory in Konsole and type ./"install on Linux.sh"

hi i’m not sure if this is mod related. but i was just using the tractor mod, and as i dismounted the tractor my characters move speed is significantly decreased for some reason and i can’t seem to fix it
If you uninstall all mods except error handler temporarily, does this persist?
This helps to narrow down if it's a mod interaction or something in the save file

i only started using mods like two days ago after moving from switch, nobody had mentioned it in the nexus posts
FeTK has the top comment mentioning it's broken, and if you scroll down on Tool Services you can see a few too
Generally if a C# mod (not a content pack) is from before 2020, you should check the comments to see if it seems to have issues
However, usually you can just uninstall the mod to fix the issue
So it's not really a big deal

hey guys, it seems I have daily issues so I apologize, but I downloaded the "buildable greenhouse updated" mod, I went through the steps it listed in the page to use a modded greenhouse map, and it didn't seem to work, it reverted to the original greenhouse from the main game, my logs don't say anything about it
so you changed the target to GreenhouseMap and also made a separate patch patching the greenhouse?
separate patch? i don't think I did that, I'm not sure what that means, did it say it on the page. I did change the target though

Anyone have an issue where after a few days the game goes into a nonresponsive state? Initially thought this was a memory issue but SMAPI logs aren't showing much that I could see. Log follows

non-responsive means you probably clicked on it while it was going to the end of day screen
I did not though. It saves the game and then nothing happen just stops at a black screen. I'm using a controller not clicking on anything. Some posts I've seen suggest its the Antisocial NPC mod but everything uses it.

Well the game just stops and nothing happens. Which is normal for loading in multiplayer or starting the game but never had it happen at the end of the day before? Should I just wait?

hi so me and my friend are playing ridgeside valley but for some reason whenever he right clicks with any of his tools it works like a totem and warps him to the ridgeside valley. Any ideas on how to fix this? its weird cuz im not having the issue despite the fact we have the same mods installed, any help is appreciated

Have your friend reinstall Stardew Valley Expanded
See if that fixes it.
Mainly because it looks like it's not loading any of the items, so he's probably hitting a json shuffle due to difference in items.
Possibly a filepath length limit issue
Yeah also reinstall Ridgeside, but it's not missing item stuff

The thing about reporting to peace is that you're going to need to figure out a min reproducible example

that's only supposed to edit my farm cave in practice, though
fixed it! I had to set the beach's options in dynamic reflections to not override default settings
