Essentially what allows people to connect to each other. It's... finicky. I had 10 players on a vanilla file once and some days it worked perfectly. Other days it... did not.

ive installed smapi through vortex, plus the mods i want, i changed the open location in steam and when i load game from steam none of them load in.
when i try to load from the StardewValleyAPI.exe it doesnt load the game and when i try to load it through vortex is doesnt do anything either

First, never ever ever ever ever install SMAPI via Vortex. Ever.

Hi all, wondering if anyone might be able to help me sort out some sort of conflict issue? I am currently playing a VERY modded game with a TON of custom furniture etc but just discovered that I can't place ANY of the custom decor outside (from several different mods) but I CAN place vaniklla furniture outside fine. Does anyone have any idea where to start looking for the issue? Trying to avoid a restart......
EDIT: There are no shown errors in SMAPI but I don't know how to dig deeper.
Iirc... That's just how it is. Custom Furniture mods are not coded with a specific 1.5 furniture Tag. You could try with the DGA version of lumisteria furniture if that would work.
I just added Ridgeside village to my SVE and it has made my load-in time really long (nearly two minutes). Also the time between days is much longer than it used to be. Is this normal for Ridgeside?
Load time is normal (mine was like 20 minutes and an additional 3 minutes when i click Load). But then again, i was playing with 200+ mods
What is abnormal is the 2nd part. I don't remember Ridgeside affecting time.
Well, I just used the log parser, and weeded out some mods that I don't need, so I'll see if this helps.

hey all - I'm not sure if my issue is with vanilla or because of my mods so I guess I'll post here. I haven't gotten a "help wanted" request in more than two in-game weeks. I'm in fall of year 2. The community center is completed; abandoned JojaMart is not; I have not opened Ginger Island yet. I am using: Chests Anywhere, Farm Type Manager, Grandpa's Farm, SpaceCore, SVE. everything is up to date.
the only thing I've found looking around online was a Steam post from someone having the same issue who was able to solve it by shooting villagers with a slingshot until he lost a heart (lol). i'd rather try to fix the underlying issue though... anyone seen this?

ok, looks like i brought this on myself. i've been just turning off the steam deck and picking up where I left off and didn't even think about it accumulating lots of garbage that way. i restarted the deck and the game and now there's a new quest on the board! i should've asked myself the ol "have you tried turning it off and back on again." sorry!!

hey guys! I was looking at some updates and added mods (to my already large list) and Am sort of deciding that I'd like to address some of the random warning messages I'm seeing.
In particular: No Output found for a PFM stuff, and the item in question not getting loaded, despite the fact that I know it exists

or some forage stuff not spawning right, despite those items definitely existing and being loaded right, because I can get to them in the item spawner.

i’m not 100% sure what the issue is, but you should probably either delete Pytk or use the less performance intensive Pytk lite

Hello, I have got a weird issue with SMAPI, I will send the SMAPI log, so hopefully someone can help me make sense of it, it states at the top “attempted to read or write protected memory”
I'm a friend of hers and the mod in question (Flower Power Furniture) we discovered while she was on stream for some reason her items are listed as furniture while mine of the same mod are listed as decorations and I CAN place them outside while she still can't. Is there a mod you guys can think that may be causing this conflict/change to happen for her?

The only thing editing data secret notes is Ridgeside, and that doesn't cause the other secret notes to error

She's still live right now. She ended up switching saves to play vanilla for now because of her issues and plans with the farm but i'm the one who suggested she reach out before restarting her farm just in case its something she just has to remove. She seems to think it may be her custom farm but I am also on a custom farm
I guess my issue here is mainly that I don't use custom furniture, but generally from what I've seen there shouldn't be a limit on where you can place them. It probably is a modded issue, but due to my inexperience with that framework the best I could suggest wouldn't really be great for her to do at the very least on live, and that's a mod binary search

D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods is the area to install SMAPI in. If it's trying to install in C: or something, that's the problem with the error handler thing

hello! Couldn't solve this problem by reinstalling the mod so asking here! I have More New Fish, which worked fine in my previous save. However i just started a new one a day ago, and SOME of the fish sprites for the mod are missing. Reinstalling didn't help either. Any tips on what i could do to fix this?

short answer, Pre: could be Earthy recolor interfering suddenly (why? we don't know!). Could be something else

reason I say it could be something else is I also had the More Fish issue but don't use Earthy
for me it was Trinkets causing the problem which made no sense whatsoever and wasnt' affecting it for other people
b/c holythesea experienced it with Earthy before and narrowed it down
in my case, it was because I had just added Trinkets and they disappeared... removing Trinkets they came back. But there's no good reason Trinkets should have an effect on it
I realize now I thought mine was the CF version probably because of something else i have that required custom furniture in my folder so we were thinking we had the same version so that will fix this and I'm pretty sure you're right about the error handler thing too so I can hopefully help her there as well

tbh the real issue is that MNF adds fish sprites to springobjects directly I think... like it attaches them to the bottom

you can try and find a content patcher version if you really want it
It's also one of a few mods that does somewhat complex offset patching
But do not use that version, just delete

Vortex cannot deploy RSV files, so you'd probably get that error on all the Ridgeside stuff

Think of it like Vortex going "AAAAH WE CAN'T DO THIS" while it's working perfectly fine
(it's the same as the shirt problem - new textures aren't zero-initialized)

So there's a story behind that line, actually I've played Stardew Valley from version 1.4 using SMAPI which of course has mods, some of the mods that I installed allow me to plant additional trees that are not in the game. (1/2)
But for real if that doesn't happen on all tiles, then IDK what's editing the tiles to show that black line

Long story short version 1.5 came out, I installed it without using smapi, when I checked again there was a "strange black line" in the corner of my land which is probably the former mod left over. (2/2)

You can axe the black line away
it should work, you'll get error items you'll have to trash.
But when I accidentally touch that line the game ended up with force close
I should also note that once you go modded on a file you can never load it again on vanilla without likely crashes, you'd have to load it with SMAPI with error handler.

It was a user issue (me) I hadn't put the dc burger folder in portraiture properly

Well in order
Missing AT, Custom Cask Mod, Miller Time, Bug Net, and technically PyTK
(AT = Alternative Textures)

empty are the lunakatt and DCBurger stuff

Hi Im having an issue with my modded stardew. When I have either Custom companions or TMXL Map Toolkit The game will crash immediately after loading my save. I can get the save to load if I delete both of those mods but ridge view village gets disabled. I am on steam deck if that matters. So after it loads it freezes on the 1st frame ingame but i left it there for longer and it finally loaded up
So it works. I just needed to sit on the frozen screen for 5 more minutes.
And that means you weren't waiting long enough

ive read online that load times can be pretty rough but all my loads before were only on that blackscreen but maybe thats normal.

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance.
You can disable resampling to turn off the graphical changes, if you don't like them

This likely means the log is too big. You've stated it happens no matter what going to fall, so what you need to do is boot your game, cause the problem by sleeping immediately, then once the log starts spamming red (make sure the console is visible!) quit out immediately

The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

Yeah I left a post in the mod page, but i saw the same problem in the bug section too, and their solution isnt doable, because the line they say to delete doesnt exist, I dont think they helped that person in the end
