hey everyone
so i started a new playthrough with about 500 mods but quit before day 1 ended
i was having some red errors in smapi and was hoping to receive help in figuring out what was going wrong because want to start with a pretty clean log
( i am familiar with pytk issues and greenhouse conflicting, mods not loading, lavril not found in npc adventures)
I should make it clear that didn't find anything to break in the game itself yet
please help me figure out the issues, and take as much time as needed to not be disturbed

hello hello, some items say i need to use them to craft weeds for the craft master achievement. i've seen this in the past, but it hasn't said it's needed for the achievement in lookup anything. do i need to be concerned?
this is a basegame energy tonic, it just has a retexture.

Is it normal to have a glitch where you put down a wooden chair, rotate it, and it turns into a seed maker? there's no error text in SMAPI, but I couldn't find anything on google, and I tested it with a minimal mod list where I can't imagine what caused it.
I moved my mod folder onto my home screen and now none of the mods are working. I tried moving it off the home screen and i put it back into my game file but its still not working. Where am I suppose to put my Mods folder for them to work?

there is a skin mod i just downloaded it's called starkissed skin tones. never knew it'll affect my game

Hello, I recently started playing again, and I got through a few days just fine until I opened one of my chests to see one of the items in the chest shows up with no texture, and when I hover over it my game crashes. I have tried to empty the chest without hovering over it but it still causes my game to crash. I googled my issue and it said to verify my file integrity so I have done that, along with restarted my computer. I used to have SMAPI installed but have since removed it along with all of my mods. Has anybody had a similar issue and/or know what's going on?

If you're playing on Steam, Verify your game files
you left a modded item in a chest probably
you won't be able to remove it until you reinstall smapi
and maybe reinstall some mods
like spacecore and json assets
after you remove it you should be able to move on with life

Short version: Never enter the game's Content folder. If the mod tells you to go in there, then don't install it

They have to be separate mods, Zephyr, as if it was the same, the mod would refuse to load ("multiple copies installed")

that'd be why then. It's trying to patch a graphics thing, the graphics for your child isn't there, so the child as NPC isn't loading, so the game is crashing looking for your child's stuff

Question! I've been playing modded stardew a long time, but I want to start collecting achievements I get to my steam account. I was directed to the Stardew Modding Wiki, I read the section about how to configure my game client so that SMAPI launches through steam, but I'm having a bit of trouble IDing the pathway I need to copy over. I should have something that looks like "Your path here" %command% but I've tried launching SMAPI and I'm not really seeing anything that matches that description..

or you can rename the original .exe Strardew valley.exe and change the Smapi exe to Stardew Valley.exe just switch the names if your on xbox game pass

that feel when you find out that one of your mods is making mead invisible, and you have NO IDEA which one it is, and there's no SMAPI error to go with it.... time to go through my mods bit by bit to try and figure it out.... unless anyone knows of a mod that's known to make mead invisible?
just use your PC's own file system to find out what you downloaded from recent to later dated stuff and back track removing each mod from the MODS folder then launch game
such as example from my opera
you can click on what week its from and it will also highlight assuming you have windows 10+
i cant find my mods folder even tho i followed the wiki ;-;
I'm not sure if it's a recent addition mod or not; I haven't made any mead in my game, or seen any, until now. So I'm going the tried and true method of removing them ten or so at a time, and then loading up to see if the mead is visible or not.
I appreciate the advice though, it's definitely something I'll remember for future troubleshooting!

Have you installed SMAPI yet? I may be wrong, but I believe if there's no mods folder, SMAPI will create one once you run the game.
Give it a try, it can't hurt. You can also just create a folder. I have like.... five mods folders that I swap out for different mod loads, and I just rename whichever I'm using to 'mods'

first, your host doesn't have NPC Map Locations, so it will not work
should work as long as you and the host are running the same mods? ive found some issues if im not host like i cant freeze time everywhere the ui will display time frozen but it wont work the host has to do it and then it wont display the time frozen

your host also doesn't have automate installed

I would read through each error individually. Like it says you have the smapi installer in your mods folder. Remove that and that's one error gone

I don't know how it works exactly.. if it's like a rolling the dice thing and you're just getting the same number ea time. There's an additional mod that lets you have more control over the baby question. Think it's called Planned Parenthood or Family Planning - ICR offhand.
The CSR mod is your answer to custom SR locations. Give your brain time to grow!
PyTK Lite, which can be downloaded from the PyTK files, does the image scaling now, and has the same id as PyTK, so it will take care of mods saying they require pytk when they no longer do. There may still be some edge cases where a mod actually needs pytk because they used something specific from the code that isn‘t anywhere else, but most should just work.

No, Fishing Trawler won‘t work with PyTK Lite, as it used the serialization feature of PyTK, which I have no solution for atm. It‘s not widely used outside of my own mods, which I already have or will convert to use a different way. it‘s serializer is one of the main reasons for pytk slowing down the game, so there is no point in keeping it. Those mods will need to switch serializers, I‘d recommend spacecore, though with 1.6 they may not need any serialization framework.

you might need to spawn them with CJB item spawner or similar, if the mod doesn't add them to any shop
Vibel is correct. JA just makes them obtainable, they don't come with the mod
you'll have to check what the mod says about acquisition in the mod description

For some reason when i am near a lot of planted crops (in this case strawberries) my fps go from stable 60 to unstable 30 but my cpu memory and gpu are all at less than 50%
sdv is a single core cpu game
so GPU won't really be used and not all of your CPU will be used

No errors are thrown in the Smapi log at all

It just won't let her speak to anyone or right click on anything
And it happens with seemingly random NPCs so it's not one NPC borking it

Hello! I'm having a little trouble trying to move my custom furniture. Every time I pick it up, it crashes the game. I'm not sure if it's the mod pack or if it's because I updated one of the mods and it's just interfering with it. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Revert a version of Custom Furniture or remove it

Yeah the log you posted is Custom Furniture breaking everything. I'd recommend removing PyTK, Custom Furniture, and Portraiture entirely. You can replace them with other mods that do better things and don't break stuff. CF can be replaced by DGA as mentioned earlier, and Portraiture can be replaced by HD Portraits. There's converters for both CF to DGA and Portraiture to HD Portraits
To summarize:
- Nix Custom Furniture, PyTK, and Portraiture
- Download HD Portraits and DGA
(Portraiture doesn't need PyTK anymore anyway)

what does your mod folder look like?
you also have two copies of Portraiture so Portraiture isn't going to work... there is a DC Burger portraits for CP (which needs PyTK I think) and one for Portraiture, which no longer needs PyTK. But you'll need to remove the copy of Portraiture that appears to be hanging out in your Warm Cozy Fireplaces folder

Hi guys, how are you? Guys, I haven't played for a while, and I decided to come back and start a new save with a larger number of mods. Everything went fine with the installation, however the loading is really slow. I have a high-end PC, so I think the limitation is not in my PC. Can you tell me if there is anything that can be done to speed up this load, which is taking about 30 minutes, or will I really have to accept it and watch an anime episode while it loads?

Heres a wierd one, has anyone ever had all of their warp/loading zones just spontaneously stop loading, the screen fades but then sticks you back to where you started? Like unable to go to the buss or the mountains, or the spring, I found the fruitbat cave in the location where it would be in the normal map but i was playing IF2 map with SVE and like 60 other mods. I fixed it by converting the farm map to another type, then converting it back VIA the Setfarmtype command but i have never seen that happen before

Ok. So if it's no longer compatible.. you can't use it. You can try search for updates on smapi.io/mods

It's new and should be beefy enough. My graphics card is my only lacking spec, and my ram is being used by other programs a bit

I'm not a computer person. I have A decent laptop made for regular people use. About 1000 mods. SM helped a ton w load times
some of its multitasking and some of it I can't close yet. I have not been playing for real and just testing that my pack works so far
But I don't have pytk or all the expansions. Maybe 2 or 3 smallerish ones
I personally play w only the game open. When I have internet browser up it steals my game juice 😤. Not worth it

Ah here's the pytk guy to help 🙂
that mod uses HD Portraits. the content Pack version (the one that does not have xnbs) goes directly into the mods folder like any other mod. Portraiture will also load them, but they are made for HDP, so if you start the game with the content pack but without HDP it will show an error, you can ignore that or also install HDP, it won't conflict with Portraiture.

I think the stardrop mod manager has an interface that can show which mods have pytk dependencies?
You can go to the pytk page and check under requirements for mods that use it.. but it was just updated in preparation for its euthanasia and most mods do not need it anymore that once did
The list was simply too long to identify any of the ones I had. and my list was equally too long to keyword search it
Oh. Remove it and hear SMAPI tell you
If this is the log, I don't see anything that should require pytk, from the top of my head. I'd recomment deleting pytk and see what complains, shouldn't be much if any.

You can do the keys that generate your error report for logs.. but use the text for saves...

Hey can anyone help me im trying to use smapi but everytime i use smapi.exe it just load the game and i have disabled all my mods and reininstalled the game multiple times. i have no clue why its not working i even tried reinstalling smapi a couple times.

She has indoor and outdoor. If it's for ES you need both

Smapi does backup your save file every in game day. The backups are located in the main game folder (outside of the mods folder)

it actually says: Walk to the Desert Redux 1.3.0-beta\[FTM] WTDR\data because it contains files, but none of them are manifest.json.

I have stardrop installed for the first time, used it and ran into issues in the first 10 minutes and proceeded to just manual install and tell stardrop to refresh :L
most of us did not get to 300 in a day 😅
I don't know the exact number in my list but I think its above 300 and it took me the last 3 days to install it all. today is just the testing if it works day

So i removed pytk and no missing dependancy complaints popped up, and it feels faster to me. only 2min30sec to generate a new save.

I do compare my load times to other people in rimworld though. but thats out of irony, my games in that are so unstable that load times go up to 40 minutes, and as low as 15
