I have many many mods and one of them has, as i assume a deliberate component, that all my villagers on different days walk up to the dwarf's cave and go down a trapdoor. it is like going to ginger island, i suppose, except it is a cave trapdoor. if i follow them i go into a room that has no outlet for me (they can kind of walk in the walls) and a lot of items, all of which are shiny. does anyone know which of my mods is doing this? and why the heck my villagers are doing this? seems vaguely cult-like, imo.
is it ok to do a log from right now as i start the game or do i need to wait until in-game night when the villagers are going?
i am a little iffy on logs, obvy
since we're just looking for potential culprits for now, just normally
loading the save though should be done
However, a log loaded in would work as well, as we can check schedule edits
(But I'm guessing cult like going to the dwarf cave is going to be pretty obvious mod-wise)

there are more than fifteen thousand stardew mods, playing "guess the problem mod" with about zero details is not going to work
that's the reason why we're getting the log
(And they said they had 200, so that'd be manageable)

tell us what it outputs. Trace'll tell us what map that is and log will have it in it

I can't entirely, entirely read all the coordinates without a lot of crossreferencing, but, map properties for the "Farm Forest" - which is a different map - has this:

they do that when a map accidentally short cuts something, they'll always take the shortest route
it is prob the only the thing i have not solved in this paythrough
Now, it is in the warp field, but given there's no other NPCWarp that I can see
so you basically never want to randomly sprinkle warps around, it breaks things

What's happening is they'll, as atra said, take the shortest route
Since they can path in the mines, and in the extra room, and then in the "Farm Forest" because it's not the farm (as you can see in the warps), they try and get to the warps
prob the BusStop ones
but....why are all random groups of my villagers going anywhere at night
They all have schedules
So their schedules go near enough to the maps that they, well, end up pathing through when they think it's shorter

If you tell an NPC "go to the bus stop" and they start on the beach, they go wherever they need to to get to the bus stop
A mod that adds a handy little warp room will get swamped with NPCs unless it's careful to make sure they can't get there

okies, THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone for all your help. you guys are bril and i hope you enjoy the super fun puzzle aspect of this. now that i know i do not need to investigate a weird cult in town, i think i can comfortably just let this go (but seriously, i assumed this was a plot line i needed to address)

Pretty sure something's up with my NPC pathing, Alex, Haley and Leah have wandered east off of the map. Might be a mod conflict or something? This is my first try at modding Stardew so I hope I didn't mess up too bad.

hello, question regarding spacecore if i was to delete sve with it's related mods (and delete/ not touch the game file i'm playing sve on) would it possibly corrupt my other farm saves if i was to play them after uninstalling them? i haven't opened my other saves since i've installed all the mods for sve
since my smapi log says this about spacecore : These mods change the save serializer. They may corrupt your save files, or make them unusable if you uninstall these mods.
would it be alright to just delete it when i want to or would i have to keep spacecore for any future farms i played due to this
I mean SpaceCore's used for a lot more than just SVE, but it won't cause problems if you delete it, no

If I start a new farm where I’m using mods that aren’t on my previous saves I put all the mods that are specific to that farm a file and label it after the farm. I.e. Funny Farm and then if I want to play one of the saves that doesn’t use the new mods I change the name of the file to .Funny Farm any file with a . In front of it won’t be loaded when Stardew is launched. So I don’t have to install/uninstall mods when playing different saves

hey can someone help with my mods? whenever i run stardew it says there's an issue loading quite a few mods (it's literally just a sea of red errors). i recently updated my entire mods folder and i'm pretty sure that i'm not missing anything. i've attached the error log if anyone can help

Every time I load into the SMAPI Stardew Valley and I click the co-op option it says I need to be signed in. When I load into the base game and click the co-op option, it works like normal and pops up the Join and Host options. I got Stardew Valley through the Xbox app on PC if that matters. Edit: I found the solution on Reddit and it worked

Following the steps on the wiki, I made a copy of the API file and renamed that and tht was when it wasnt working. All I actually changed was that the actually API file i renamed to Stardew Valley before making a copy to use as a shortcut. There was also 2 seperate files labeled just Stardew Valley both of which I changed to Stardew Valley - Vanilla . When these 2 things were done in tandem it began to function properly. Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).
Make sure you don't have machines or anything left outside or they will get reset too

And for some reason my game is eating large amounts of CPU and RAM at times (30~40% CPU and ~1GB Ram, causes very annoying lag)

If your game is only using 1GB RAM I am shocked at how low
The game tends to be around 2-4GB and SM preloads things (increasing RAM usage)

I've a question for ya'll myself. I'm running a heavily modded instance of SV on my home rig. I'm putting together a multiplayer game for some new players who are running the game vanilla. Can I host the game on my modded coppy of Stardew Valley, or do I need to wipe my mods?

That's generally why - for a multiplayer session only - people are fine with having people share mods via zipping up a mod folder and sending it over. Outside of the session, though, do not
(Generally because modders want downloads and endorsements from Nexus, and it's mod piracy normally to send it over, but obv with SDV it's simpler to send over the mods so people don't run into issues)

hi, i recently started playing stardew valley with mods (i have 2 elliott expanders, one that turns shane into sans and one that gives me a cheats menu plus an infinite item menu) and the community center registers itself as finished, but the bulletin board was finished after the cutscene and the vault won't even allow me to touch it (theres no spot to even enter into the bundle), but i finished the vault before..i have a theory that its related to one of the mods and how i attempted to finish it using the auto-finish function
does anybody know why this is happening and/or if theres a way to fix it?

it's a netcode problem, so either a mod that can't do MP or mismatch in mods
Guys anyone noticed that the extra layer mod its flagged by one antivirus as malware in virustotal? i tried to download the previous version but when i did chrome stopped the download saying i was downloading an unsafe file

Honestly if it wouldn't be sort of redundant, I'd add a command talking about how mods that are newly updated will throw a "not commonly downloaded" warning

Easiest way to check is to go into the internal windows directory as atra said. If you get the same with the installer thing, check for that file

Your C# mod difference is the problem here
Any differences in C# mods will generally completely destroy the ability for people to play together - you guys are lucky it's worked so far

Basically you two have to have the exact same mod list or your game explodes
The best way to describe it is that they have their own "entry" on the log and are in bold, not italics
That's why it's simpler to just say "have the same mods"
Most graphic mods are usually fine but even then they can sometimes cause problems, so like I said it's best just to keep the lists identical.
thats really not how it is. there are plenty of c# mods that work if one one of the users has it, but having the same modlist does make it simpler instead of having to look up each one individually to check wether or not its MP compatible

Yes. The simplest way would be to have her put all her mods into a zip file and send that to you, either through discord directly or, more likely, some kind of file-hosting service like Google Drive

A patch export makes a copy of specific stuff in your content folder so you can see what changes have been applied.
- Load up a save (with Content Patcher installed)
- Type

patch exportfolder in the game folder for the relevant json file or image - If it's a json file, you can share it via smapi.io/json. If it's an image you should just be able to look at it.

Heyo, I recently installed DCBurger's Portrait mod. So far, all the characters are fine except for a few (Marlon, Dwarf, Gil) where their alignments are off and some like (Gunter, Mr Qi, Leo) portraits, they don't switch at all? Solutions are highly appreciated, thanks!!

Now that I'm not guiding someone through deleting files to fix their SMAPI, the best way to figure this out is to check the modpage for the usual hotkey. Alternatively, mash keyboard until finding the thing that opens the menu. If it's reset terrain features, I think it's N, but I can't recall.

For example, vanilla 18 shows that I should dig next to a bench. SVE 18 shows I should dig next to water. SVE changes the map so there's no bench anymore but I also find nothing if I dig around water

Files with the extension .zip, .rar, or .7z are archive files, which you can extract to get the actual files inside. Was the chest outside and have you saved since this error happened?
Honestly i’d just use item spawned to get them back regardless of the cause. But chests that are outside when you change farm types tend to disappear
Yeah it’s gone. If you haven’t saved you could close out without saving switch back to the other farm type and bring it inside. Or you can just get item spawner and get them back that way

Having some troubles with Cp graphics not showing up. Tried to make both Fancy Artisian retexture and classic Ppja retexture work, it didn't. Then I ditched the Ppja one and now, for reasons that I can't understand, the game only shows vanilla graphics for crops, animal resources and ores [latter coming from yet another mod, unrelated to the Fancy one]. Even outdoor paths went down this, but curiously enough they sport the mod when laid. Opinions?

Depending on what issue you're looking at:
*Shardust's thing is missing all of its files, you should reinstall
*Delete TMXL
*Either install Multi Yield Crops and Bug Net or delete the relevant Folders (Fresh Meat)
So, right now I believe that another mod is overriding the fancy sprites

every time i place furniture it gets replaced by the sprite of another furniture item, any idea what's going on?

yeah see that's what's got me stumped, i tried everything i could think of, disabled the npc locations, turned off my recolor mod, i even tried running SVE after UI just to see if something was loading over SVE but nothing worked other than deleting UI all together
so if you remove ui info suit, then you are able to choose whatever SVE map you have installed?
or are you talking about the map in the menu
