Have you used any .xnb file replacers?

no xnb replacers used since no xnb mods were used
Hmm. I don’t think this would fix it, but I noticed their other farm requires DaisyNiko’s tile sheets.. maybe they forgot to add that as a requirement.
Or, someone else a few years back had a similar issue. But they were able to fix it with downloading SpaceCore. Difference is that they were using JsonAsset mods which required it, but they got the same sort of “NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I don’t really know for sure if either of these solutions would help, but maybe someone smarter than me will see this, berate me for giving solutions that might not even work, and then give you better help.
I do wonder why others haven’t experienced the same error, though.
And why it only happens on that farm.
Have you tried verifying your game files through Steam, too?
i know that they had ftm in the requirements without needing it cause the farm they based it on required ftm
so might be that they got an unlisted dependency

had niko's tilesheets installed previously since other maps i had installed needed it, but the error was still there

ok, i think i figured out how to fix it, that would require me to edit the map, is that allowed, so simply make edits to a map? or is it safer if i make an entire new map?
apparently the game doesn't like it when the paths layer doesn't have a single tile with index 22 (grass spawn) on it
I cannot get immersive scarecrows to work. Is there a hot key I have to click to activate them or something? None of the buttons in the description do that they're supposed to like the mod isn't even loaded.

ok, adding the grass spawn onto the paths layer did indeed fix it, now i just need to find a convenient place to put it xD
although since i would want some minor adjustments still i might as well go back to the idea of making my own custom farm from scratch

@honest hearth I don't know why they say optional but they are not optional, except maybe hats won't mess up hair. Content patcher and smapi are very much needed. Make sure you have both

if i were to hypothetically cut and paste some dialogue from one mod into another (via the content JSON) (that seems to be taking priority for some reason) would it include that dialogue as well..?? maybe?
That one replaces the original hairstyles, so you can see the changes in the character creation screen or the wizards weird shrine.

What dialogue mods are you saying that's overlapping?
If you've got a heap of dialogue mods, you're bound for them to write over each other and may not make a lot of sense.
I hoard dialogue mods myself, but that doesn't really bother me lol. You can delete the others to save yourself a lot of time though.
i don’t know why but I assumed that the game would recognize what dialogue lines I’ve seen before and cycle through them
I've got no clue if it'll work since you've got Stardrop, but if you don't want to add a false dependency then maybe you can try renaming the folders so it starts with a "Z"?
Though even that only works half of the time for me.

Hi!
Me and my group of friends have had connectivity issues with our modded world. We started yesterday and every few in-game days or so, without any pattern, a random amount of us get disconnected from the host (Server has closed the connection). We're mainly running RSV and SVE along with some other smaller mods (that shouldn't be affecting gameplay or connection that much). The only thing we've found that we think is semi-consistent is that it seems to happen when the game shifts hours (e.g 6:50pm -> 7:00pm, 10:50am -> 11:00am). Any help is appreciated, as it has become borderline unplayable in this state.
I would post logs, but nothing gets logged in SMAPI as it doesn't appear to be an issue on that end.

The game is on C\XboxGames... and SMAPI is in C:\VTRoot\HarddiskVolume2...
I don't use XBox Gamepass and don't know if that might be an "XBox thing".
But they shall start the installer again and make a screenshot when you're at the point where it asks you where to install SMAPI. There should be an option between a path and custom location.

Tilesheets shouldn't be an issue, look like that part of the map is modified by SVE (maybe? not sure)

either that or seasonal edits, all the other options don't sound like anything related to any colors

likely adding a new mod changed the order of things loading and/or mods detected a new mod and changed to accomodate it in a way you didn't expect

Got a weird error trying to start SMAPI from steam after organizing my mods with StarDrop and using that a couple of times randomly. Log: https://smapi.io/log/f3eb7c0e6b4c452784dce76e7b9b00e3. I do in fact have ErrorHandler installed, dunno why it's not recognizing it. Properties have still not been changed from Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" --mods-path "Mods_Valley" and Start In: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\". As far as I know I haven't changed anything about the steam-added game since I used stardrop but /shrug

Me and my girlfriend started playing stardew valley and she is the host.
I found out you could download mods on stardew valley and downloaded an auto fishing mod (Yes was using smapi)
My girlfriend didnt have smapi downloaded, but I could still join with the modded client to auto fish.
She wanted to download mods as well, so I helped her download them and we have the same mods and everything but now I cant join the world (Says connection failed), but when she uses her normal client to host then I can join with all the mods..

Whenever I try to access it, my game closes out.
I noticed it first happened today after I loaded my game and went to set up the config settings for SpriteMaster... the game closed out when I hit "save & close" in GMCM.
Happened again after reloading and clicking the Cog for GMCM from titlescreen.
Reloaded again.. all the way into my game, and hit the hotkey to bring up GMCM and it closed the game again.

There's a section called "Undo the last save". Try that. Very careful (or copy your savegame folder on your desktop first for "just in case".

If you don't unmanage Vortex can get in the way. Short version: Not good.
And then we're starting at the top of the list:
Farm Type Manager because you have multiple copies of this mod installed. To fix this, delete these folders and reinstall the mod: Mods\Farm Type Manager v1.16.0-3231-1-16-0-1649622863\FarmTypeManager, Mods\FarmTypeManager.

on it, just to double check, what do you mean by uploading a new log?
It's a mod that let's you edit savegames. If you don't know what you're doing you shouldn't do it as you can damage your savegame if you do something wrong.

How did you get immersive scarecrows to work? Nothing happens when I hit enter on my scarecrows or left control or e on them.

okay here is the game play you are going to update the mods the need updating by deleting the mod then reinstalling it. it should fix the multiple copies error too

Just start the installer and run it again. If something is missing, SMAPI will add it.

Start with the framworks first (Spacecore, Json assets, ShopTileframework, SVE dependencies).

Leave SVE for "last", same for PyTK if you use that.
I know some people said PyTK has issues with SMAPI, anything special that I should do when installing?
The thing is: PyTK is sort of outdated in regards to the method it uses. It still works technically, but it increases your starting / loading time by a lot. For some things like Custom Furniture there are alternatives (especially DGA), for other things not. So you do the other stuff first and then check, what needs PyTK.
If you install all your other mods except for PyTK SMAPI will scream and tell you which ones need it. 🙂

the game loaded and accessing the GMCM didn't upset anything for a while... but I noticed the game was extra laggy. I saw a few events and opened the GMCM to change the hotkey for SM b/c it was overlapping with something else.. and then this angry message appeared in the SMAPI console and I was kicked out

those should in theory not be needed by both parties since they’re cosmetic/dialogue
If it bothers you, you can go into the manifest file and edit the "current version" (numbers range from 1.0.0 of the sort) and update the key to the one listed on the nexus page, that should fix the false update alert.

We had an issue like this earlier involving someone unable to leave their cabin, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
they might need to be updated anyway so we can try that, but whats really racking my brain is that it's the forest area specifically
its only that area, and he describes it as being stuck on the loading screen until it inevitably crashes
he can rejoin again just fine, but entering the area will make it crash again, otherwise no performance issues
Yeah, I'd say you should try updating the area and double checking to make sure you both have the same date of mods installed.
If that doesn't work then it might be a compatibilty issue, you could have a mod installed that doesn't allow multiplayer support.
(Or it could be The Only One For Me, I haven't used the mod so I don't know what it entails but it might be a mod that requires everyone to have it. Unless it's cosmetic, I believe.)

@tired brook Sorry for disturbing, but would it have any consequences if the startup_preferences are set to read only? @charred anvil had to delete them yesterday (resolution wasn't correct, they've 2 displays with different resolutions) and it seems like they've the same issue today. So my thought is if one would set it to read only maybe it would not be messed up again?
@west gyro stardrop also tells you which mod you are missing in the mod list. ok it's not 100% accurate but yeah, I hope 6 hours of tardiness you already found a temp solution

so I downloaded TMXL2CP 0.1.4. I installed python 3.10.9 and tiled 1.9.2.

I've moved the files over to the mods folder, on steam. I'm not sure where else to move them? I've used winrar program if that helps?
You can move your downloaded folder to Mods folder inside game folder, use extract here, then move those zip to somewhere elese if you wanna back up your mods

In the comments of one of them the author says that not all dialogue was changed (Abigail). And there seems somebody else with the issue. Have you tried deleting the mod, redownload and reinstall? Maybe something went wrong.
And you might have to try for multiple days. Maybe the initial one wasn't changed. You could check the content.json for the specific dialogue that was changed.

i did notice that the mod uses JSON files for dialogue instead of XNB files to "be compatible with other mods"

Maybe for testing purpose: Can you try a different dialogue mod for CP to check if it works (preferably one that can be discussed here opposite to the ones you're currently using.).

If there is an error automatically installing dependencies, you can install them manually via

Then it's not a general issue but one with the specific mod. No idea what could be wrong. You could try your luck with comment on the mod page.

so instead of the [TMXL] inside of the TMXL
just have the contents of [TMXL] in TMXL
