this type of thing has a habit of being a string literal, so...using grep, search for vibrationOff in your entire mods dir

I added Stardrop to manage mod profiles, it's good to go but when I try to launch a profile from it I get the following message: “open-smapi-terminal.command” can’t be opened because open is not allowed to open documents in Terminal.

According to them, it’s a bug in MacOS Ventura not setting the quarantine flag properly for actions originating in bash scripts. The relevant part of the OS being triggered is the "System Integrity Protection", which is documented here:

Click the info icon, then click the file path displayed in the alert. This will take you to the folder with the SMAPI launcher, and you should be able to launch the game from there. This may not enable Steam connection, and it make make the game much more unstable.
Install iTerm and set it to be your default Terminal. This is not optimal if you like using Terminal, but otherwise seems like a perfectly workable solution.

After your break: Install SDV, start SDV and start a new game (skip intro). If SDV behaves like it should during all of this: Go to bed, quit the game, start it and load the save to see if it still behaves.

What kind of graphics do you have? 
SDV doesn't look like it but a tiny bit of graphic it needs. Although on a win 10 laptop I would expect the integrated one to manage the system requirements.

Yo I got a weird glitch trying to play stardew extended splitscreen. It loads up fine but when we try to leave the farm to go to pelican town the map change doesn't trigger and we can just run endlessly off screen
anyone ever encountered something like that?
Since the winter started in my save (first winter) i'm experiencing a longer wait when i enter my house or barns/coops etc, basically when i change places. I have no idea what is causing this, can anyone see what it may be?

winter is kinda laggy due to the outfit changes for npcs w seasonal outfits
iirc sca has winter inside and winter outside outfits
so when you go inside, the game has to load the winter inside outfits and when you go outside, it has to load the outside ones

hi, i don't know if this is the right place bit i just reinstalled SDV for the first time since July (shocker i know) i installed SMAPI but i don't know what i have done as the game isn't loading

To give more details, the game crashes randomly when we all go to sleep, with all these errors showing on the smapi log.
I know it's from the pause in multiplayer but I don't what is causing it from the mod... We uninstalled it for now but I just wanted to know if it was my fault so I could fix it, or just the mod that gets buggy ha ha!

I asked here last month and I'm hoping maybe someone could help me this time.
I'm using two mods, one is meant to overwrite one and make the inside bigger. But whenever I reset from title screen, it reverts back to the original greenhouse. Which causes the inside to break, breaking the crops and trees inside.

I was trying to fix something, but ofc I'm messed up a little bit. There are some features from SVR3 that are missing. Like Pierre's boxes of produce behind Alex's house. It's physically there, but the visual is gone. There's a couple of places this is the case.

progression tracker only shows what you're missing for 100%

Hi there! It's me, you might remember me from a few days ago. Yes, I have managed to break my game again since then. I don't want to be that annoying person with the huge load order that's constantly asking for help, but if you guys hear of any recent mod updates that might prevent save load and let me know I'd appreciate it.
Sounds like one of your mods are conflecting with one another if its not allowing you to save/load.
Check your Smapi and see if there are errors that are popping up
I'll do some tests tomorrow and see if I can find out how I messed up this time. I have been having this issue for days now, and I've updated a few mods.
Yea. Sounds like one of your mods is breaking Smapi. That was happening to me at one point with a multiplayer mod that was conflicting with Automate
Uhhh I think it activates automatically. If you notice something like a golden walnut looking thing in your game menu, that should be it

Guys, respecting my earlier comments...What are the odd's that StarAmy's Cozy Walls and Floors for CWF (by aedenthorn) was the cause of the conflict? I removed it and here I am watering my crops

so im trying to remove any mods that i have that require PyTK or TMXToolkit as PyTK has been causing excessive lag and such and I believe the only mod that I have that requires those dependencies is Ultimate Farm. Would anything bad happen to these TMX files if I removed TMX Toolkit from my mods folder?
I am running the Stardew Valley Expanded mod and I have two new errors that just showed up when I log on. The game seems to run fine and I have no idea what these errors mean. Yes, I did. In fact I've killed it twice, but for some reason the game didn't register the first part of the quest.
Which is "Slay a prismatic slime".
Although I'd already delivered the jelly it dropped to the Wizard...
I tried spawning a prismatic slime and kill it, which redropped the jelly, but still didn't register for some reason I'd killed it under the quest. This is the reason I was looking for a way to force it completed.

i've waited for a year for my spouse to ask me to have a child, i've tried planned parenthood, change child request percentage, and choose random overnight event, but none of them have worked. i was able to become pregnant once on this save after using planned pregnancy but the child never came after the event from pregnancy and birth events played ? and now it doesn't work, and nothing else is working. choose random overnight event says 'Under current garre conditions, the ewent "PC_child_request" will not be able to run tonight because your spouse connot have children (or is a roommate).
The event will still try to run tonight and check if this condition has changed by the tire the players go to bed.' my spouse is elliott and my farmer is set to female, so i don't understand what the problem could be
also, i downloaded pregnancy roles just to check and the farmer is set to 'become pregnant' and he's set to 'make pregnant'

youre probably just launching the original game instead of smapi, if you want to launch from steam, you have to set launch options. but if you don't mind, you can also just launch smapi directly
and no worries, it can be kind of overlooked sometimes

i'm playing unmodded co-op and then tryiung to do a modded farm on my own
i was planning on just clearing out the mods folder every time i played co op but just changing the launch settings seems easier

Good time of day. Does anyone at least partially understand the error log? We play together with a girl and for the first time in a couple of years we really made a good selection of mods, which loads quickly and without errors, almost or completely unnoticeable, or instantly correctable, although more than 300. And now, in the second year of summer, when the unrealistically complicated nodules were almost completely closed, the same error comes out. At least to understand what kind of mod, what is the problem to remove or fix. In other cases, no problem, there was a word in the error or a hint of what is a bug, and here there are no ideas at all. It's a shame to lose the game process, and there's no point in starting again until you figure out what the mistake is.
Is this about the SMAPI zip itself? If you are running win >= 10 you should be able to right click on the folder and select "Extract All"
After that you should have a install.bat in the extracted files, double click that and select the path to your stardew valley install and then select install
so i loaded up SMAPI again, did everything correctly (i get 3 messages including the mod folder location), waiting for game to launch and then nothing happens after that (cropped for obvious reasons)

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

That's a low-level error in XmlSerializer code, deep down where it's dynamically building types. It's not related to mods (aside from SMAPI itself), since SMAPI hasn't started loading them at this point. Normally I'd say that looks like corrupt .NET or Windows files, but it's weird that it works fine without SMAPI.

Just a heads up - net 5.0 needs libssl 1.x
so you'll need to install that if you use any Linux version that corresponds to any Ubuntu version 22.04 and above
It's hard to look into low-level issues like this though; the only likely solution I can think of is a Windows reset to fix any corrupt .NET/Windows files, otherwise it's just intensive investigation into logs, custom builds, etc.

Not sure but maybe it's because of the long folder name. Inside the "Content Patcher and a large number"-folder is a folder called "Content Patcher". Can you move that to Mods?

But if it's multiplayer it could be an issue in that regard. Try singleplayer. If it's normal time when doing singleplayer it has to do with multiplayer.

Yes, you need to download them one after the other.
And Nexus seems to be a bit slow today. Hence why you try the zip first. If you're lucky you don't have to redownload and it'll work. 🙂

My friends, my game is crashing on the Steam Deck. I had about 50 mods installed and the game was playing fine, but after I installed about 10 more, it refuses to open. I do not know how to find the crash logs on a linux device, and the information on how to on smapi website is not helpful, was wondering if anyone could help me out

I am running SDV 1.4 on android and all of a sudden RSV, boarding house, and SVE aren't working correctly. The stairs are gone for RSV and no entrance to boarding house. Also, certain SVE maps won't load like the one on the left of the beach with Sophia's house. Anyone else have this issue? My log shows no errors.
I uninstalled all the mods I installed recently, and I am still getting the error. Which doesn't feel possible because before I installed my recent 10 mods, I was playing stardew valley just fine.
I believe I found the mod causing the issue. It is PlatoTK
PlatoTK is not super maintained these days, so unfortunately if it's causing problems the only thing we can recommend is uninstalling
Yeahhh, I removed it. Although I don't really know which of my 60 mods rely on it so... guess I'll wait for a crash and see what happens lol

If you are running windows, did you maybe click inside the command promt? Sometimes that can pause the execution
I've been trying to download yellog's wood buildings or medieval buildings but they never seemed to actually change anything, even tried the config.json instructions on medieval buildings but it didn't work, if needed I do have content patcher and no errors were shown in the smapi command prompt

Yes, dl new version and replace old version. It's usually best to delete the old rather than overwriting the files

Mostly yes. A lot of mods can be added at any time without issues, but some can cause issues when doing that, usually that is mentioned in the description. Most QoL mods should be fine to install at any time
Try reinstalling the mod, deleting the items in those two slots and then removing it again. Maybe the mod touched the items in some way that made them bug out
I can't even hover over the items, it appears blank and when I hover over them the game crashes.

Hi! I’m using MARGO and Stardew valley expanded, and I’ve completed all the requirements to unlock the nexus and start more magic stuff in SVE. but I’m not getting any of the cutscenes or anything. Is there anyway to help?

You can try the save editor I linked above. Otherwise I'm out of ideas and you maybe have to wait for someone more qualified to respond.

Did you check against the requirements for the events here: https://stardew-valley-expanded.fandom.com/wiki/Enchanted_Grove ? If you really only have SVE and MARGO it should not interfere with each other, it is more likely something is missing, like wrong time, place or missing prerequisites.

I download the smapi mod, but accidentally didn’t allow it to access folders and I’ve deleted it multiple times but it dosent allow me to change that choice

Well you have a LOT of places where errors are ... even just glancing at the log you have:
- Mods installed twice
- Missing requirements for mods
- Mods installed wrongly directly into the mods folder
- Mods that are completely incompatible / out of date
- Mods overwriting the same items
Best read the log on the website and check out the red text to follow the instructions provided there
Yes, if you have the save file backed up you can restore at any time, just remove the mods that create issues and restore the backup.

yeah i know those but the better farm variety mod has many error. i fixed those but im trying to get the error whenever i buy animals the next morning i get a looping error on pg 4

Oh yeah, idk if this is a general mod configure thing but yellog's wood buildings did not want to register as a mod when I tried to find it in the mod options menu unless it really doesn't show up there

yellog's buildings are a CP mod and should be a straightforward installation but without a log I really cannot troubleshoot further b/c it's just guesswork
but it also doesn't have a config so I don't think it would show up in the mod options menu (do you mean GMCM?)

Does MARGO’s way of getting the galaxy sword effect the way you unlock the cutscene where magnus invites you to do magic/unlock the nexus? Because I’ve done all the prerequisites and and I’m not getting the cutscene :( I asked earlier before I did more research but now I’m stumped

Can somebody please help me figure out how to use the caughtfish/fishcaught debug console command? I don't know how to do console commands.
Due to a bug making it impossible for me to build any buildings, I cannot build a coop, therefore I can't pick up an egg from a coop I have built, which is a prerequisite for the pufferchick legendary fish to spawn from the Aquarium mod.
So I am trying to use console commands to tell the game I have caught one, so I can get the stardrop for catching every fish in the game. I don't want to just spawn in a stardrop.
I used debug lookup to find the pufferchick item ID. It is 4101.
When I do the command:
debug caughtfish pufferchick 1
I get an error saying it is in the incorrect format.
When I do the command:
debug caughtfish 4101 1
It says it sent the debug command to the game, but there was no output

Does anyone know how I can tell the game that I caught the pufferchick (legendary fish added by the aquarium mod), since a bug makes it impossible for me to build any buildings (I'm playing co-op and only my fiancée, the host, can do that for some reason), and picking up an egg from a coop I built is a requirement for it to spawn. So I am locked out of the in-game achievement and stardrop you get for catching every fish in the game
do you care about actually getting the achievement, or just the stardrop?

did you check your Collections>Fish? if it works, it should be no longer greyed out because technically you have "catched" the fish

hey i found out how to do it!
first, you need to cast your fishing rod, and then alt tab to your smapi console
and type debug fish <fish id or fishname>
the game will then automatically catch that fish
idk how to do it without having to do the minigame but this is what i found
debug fish 74 will get you a prismatic shard, lol
so im trying to install the PPJA SVE for the CCCB, and after several hours of no luck, i think ive almost got it to work. just a bit confused as to why it is not loading the correct bundles even after i have edited the config.json file. if anyone has experience installing this mod, your help would go a long way.

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.
ok apparently that was already installed, just didnt know what it was called, my bad. yeah cant find the config in that menu that i need to change so ima have a look at that error log again and see if i can use that to help as well
