I'm trying to set up an immersive farm 2 server but it only shows the 5 default types
then it replaces one of those

the server bot automatically selects the farm type in which is put into the config
when the IFR2 mod is installed, it replaces the default farm, so you will get it if you select the default farm
and default farm is automatic

so I was wondering if IFR2 has a different farm type name

basically u can scroll thru different skills and use hotkeys to increase the skill's level, that mod used to be able to change the luck skill's level (this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/521) but somehow, now somehow its no longer in the selection, i'm not sure if the mod no longer see the newer luck skill or the newer patch of BJSTruemaster no longer support luck skills

Where the blue screen pops up with the frowny face and forces restart. Then the bad message about "Boot Failed"

I was able to restart the computer both times w/o losing anything -from what I can see it all looks normal.

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

If you're still worried about the performance of your game, I recommend using SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) It provides optimizations
Oh and if the smooth textures bother you, you can turn it off with f11 but it still keeps the features :)

I do not recommend installing more than one large expansion mod at a time
IE - my SVE save uses approximately 1.4-1.7 GB of RAM

Heyo! I'm having an annoying problem regarding my settings get reset each time I enter a new screen/area. Some settings, like item stowing, always defaults to Off everytime I switch area. I really prefer to play with item stowing on. Searched around and it seems that @dire fractal was having the same issue a while back.

Yeah try reinstalling smapi and SVE it appears it did not download correctly. Also the error related to the DaisyNiko is because you also have the empty 'DaisyNiko's Earthy Recolour-5255-1-3-6-1665808443' file that comes with the Daisy Niko [CP] just delete that :)

Yeah windows has an inbuilt extract tool which can work fine. However some mods are compressed in other file methods such as .rar files which the normal windows provided extract can't do
But for SVE It works fine to use windows inbuilt tool

unfortuantely, any of your C# mods could be causing that

so, your options are to either (a) remove your C# mods until the problem goes away or (b) search around in the Great Big Repo of all open source C# mods until you find the person doing that

Also in my default_options and startup_preferences the itemstowing option is set as "Both", but "On" is not a valid state

You can try with it on while building just to see the problem me adding the tweaking was meant to solve, but yeah, annoyingly you might want to do that.

so, I know BFAV isn't really supported much anymore, and will be going away entirely with SMAPI 4, but I wanted to share what I found with the community in case it might help anybody else who's still using it. Sorry as well for the wall of text.
After some additional testing, I'm 95% confident that the bug which turns BFAV animals into vanilla chickens/cows comes in 2 forms. The first is a visual glitch that affects every BFAV animal on the farm, lasting 1 or more days, during which their sprite is replaced by the vanilla chicken's/cow's sprite, but they still make the correct sounds and correct products. If you try to move them between buildings, the tooltip still calls them their appropriate BFAV names. This glitch seems to be triggered on the morning when a BFAV animal reaches maturity and loses its (baby) label. Closing and restarting your game will usually fix this. Passing the day and sleeping through the night usually also fixes it, but it may take 2-3 nights in some cases. In rare cases, I noticed that our animals visually returned to normal even without sleeping, I assume due to some farm map reload, but I don't know the specifics of what caused it. This form of the glitch is purely visual and temporary, albeit scary at first.
The second form is not visual. It's triggered by the first glitch occurring on BFAV animals that are still not mature and have their (baby) labels on the morning that the first glitch is triggered. When this happens, all BFAV baby animals will be turned into chickens/cows. The first day this happens, it appears to be the first form, because the animals will put out BFAV products on that first day. However, if you try to move them between buildings, they have already become white chickens and white cows. If you save and quit, or if you sleep through the night, you'll find that all of the babies will in fact have permanently turned into chickens/cows. They're always white chickens and white cows too, I assume because that's the null animal for coops and barns, respectively. Once a BFAV animal has reached adulthood and has its correct sprite, it seems to be safe from this glitch forever.
I found 2 workarounds for this bug. The first is to only ever have 1 type of baby at a time. If a BFAV mod has multiple subtypes of a species, like phoenixes come in 6 different colors, you can safely have as many of those as you want. Mixing phoenixes with crows, however, will trigger the glitch 100% of the time. I suspect that you could safely get animals of different types that share the same growth cycle, but I was unable to confirm that with my testing because I miscalculated. The second workaround is a bit cheaty. Use the "debug growanimals" command on a barn/coop with babies in it, and the glitch will be skipped. I made sure to always have my barn/coop empty of adults before running that command, and definitely do not include dinosaurs or other animals that don't have both baby/animal forms. With these two workarounds though, I was able to get all of my BFAV animals to adulthood without issue. I hope this helps anybody else who's run into these errors like I have.

nevermind, I think it got fixed. The wedding happened and now it's all three of us. Now injust need go wait to see if Sebastian will get out the bed, if it then something might be up

SMAPI 3.18.0 raised deprecation levels to the final stage, meaning SMAPI will now show yellow warning dialogues for mods with deprecated code. For the user, this just means that the mods have old code and will break in SMAPI 4.0 if they are not updated - it is not anything to worry about at this time. (For mod authors, it's a not-nice warning to update your code already!

as per the mod description To obtain your first Galaxy weapon, as in vanilla you must first unlock the desert, acquire a Prismatic Shard and offer it to the Three Sand Sisters. Unlike vanilla, however, the weapon will not materialize out of thin air, but will be shaped out of a configurable amount of Iridium Bars (10 by default), which must be in your inventory.

Not sure if I should post this in here or in making mods since it's a little more coding based, but I'm having trouble with the HD Portraits patch. I placed the pathing into the script, but when I try to run it, I get a syntax error(just asks if I'm missing a comma) due to having to place an open parantheses around one section of the portrait file line to stop another error

Anyone know a solution to stardew not opening with the command prompt, it opens the command prompt and does the normal loading process and says all mods loaded and ready to go but does not actually open stardew, it just stays on that screen forevermore.

Or just run smapi and see the log. If you haven't install or just deleted spacecore, there will be red text that says spacecore needed for particular mods to run
i did that! i was just a bit paranoid because im not sure why spacecore would be there if it wasnt required

Hello, I need help with modding.
So I downloaded a few mods and pasted it into the mods folder, then opened SMAPI. For some reason, the portrait mods work but the major ones won't. (Stardew Valley Expanded, Grandpa's Farm, etc.)
The game works just fine but the other mods aren't appearing, even though SMAPI states that there aren't any errors. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Stardew Valley again to see if something changed, but nothing did :( I even put the URL that SMAPI told me to in Steam's properties... what am i doing wrong π
Compatibility branch is also turned off, all of it.

Hello, i'm currently playing with no mod. I've been thinking about playing with mods but with my current farm playthrough. I want to play with quality of life changing mods, not a heavy game changing/story changing, cheats and stuff kinda mods. Is it possible, or do i have to play a new farm?

for aesthetic or qol mods, you can use the existing save file. for mods that add npc, location, or item, it's recommended to make a new save

Run sdv from the exe file inside game folder (named StardewValley.exe or something, not stardewmoddingAPI.exe). The game will be launch in vanilla
so I can do the whole smapi install thing and changing the lanching path to the modded version but also create a desktop connected to the base game and both will work without conflict?

Mods (multiplayer) can be changed to whatever your other Mods folder named. Cause you named other Mods folder with Mods (multiplayer), no need to change anything except the your-part-here thing. That part is the beginning part of your game folder location

Those portraits might be replacers that would need to be put inside the portraits assets for RSV to overwrite them
There's also a CP version that would act as its own mod and would go in the reg Mods folder
I think they recommend the former on the mod's page last I checked

I think you likely downloaded the non-CP versions of the portraits which don't have manifest cus they're not really mods. Just pngs to overwrite the original portraits in RSV mod

This is an older type of mod that's no longer recommended, and can cause a number of issues. This is the original mod you overwrite with the ENG translation. I looked into the files, but I'm really confused what this mod actually does...
Does it add a new map and a few new characters? Or does it also rework the vanilla map buildings? I'm so confused after looking into the original's language (not English) files. Under Map --> Assets

Those are needed for SVE to run, don't delete em
it probably has new assets for those events. Maybe the mod adds small things to it.
