I don't suppose anyone knows of a way to get the UI info suite 2 mod to prioritize its render 'on top' of other UI elements? I want to use Better Shops, but the UI suite tooltip for crops etc. renders underneath the filter options better shops adds and that is one of the main features I really want to use from the mod.
hey guys, sorry to interrupt, i got some issue that i cant solve and so i came here for help. Im completely new to the modded SDV and it's my first time ever to mess with the game file. So, i was planning to play a SVE mod set that i create myself. I was wanting to see something new and so i installed some texture mod which is the Stardew Valley Anime Mod, Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic for seasonal outfit sprite and (CP) Seasonal Anime Portraits III for seasonal outfit potrait.
I tested out if all of the potrait work as intended, and no, Robin and Jas is missing their anime potrait for some reason and i cant find why is it happening.
if you have a saved game, then installed SDVE, will opening that save file corrupt it?

Corruption is unlikely. Nothing will really be saved unless you sleep in that save. I remember vaguely there being some sort of comment on installing SVE mid-game. Something along the lines of, it's possible, but you have some cleaning up to do.

I've never had SVE so I can't really tell you. I'll give a good guess on the maps though. Stuff like trees and bushes will be in places it's not supposed to be.
No errors visible but I think what's happened here is that cuter aesthetic, anime portraits, and anime mod all replace the portraits, try keeping just one of them and see if that works

Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).
I think it's mandatory to pick one? I could be wrong.
Problem solved! Turns out that I didn't actually download the anime mod, I donwloaded the replacing xnb for original SDV and throw it into the content/potrait file and completely bamboozled myself thinking thats the way this mod works, once you mentioned the mod replacing the potraits I immediately think that must be the reason. I download the correct file this time, extract it into mod file and it works! Thanks for you help and time!

this changes the water ... red. How do I fix that to normal?
How can I change this? Also it changes the rain to blood red rain, but there's nothing in the content folder to edit/delete for rain or water
I HEAVILY edited the assets and content file yesterday to remove anything I didn't want. But I don't want red rain or water ... The red rain is an asset but not in the content, the red water I think is a tilesheet, but not in the content
It's not; it's explicitly preventing it from being scheduled because it stops monsters from being scheduled

I think you originally copied the code from Custom NPC fixes, which didn't exclude monsters

Yeah, it's really confused me, I've got a powerful computer, the game almost never struggles (unless I tab out-in, only other lag source)
I don't see anything suspicious in the log at all
do you think it might be something external?
My computer runs completely fine outside of stardew, or do you think there could be something else external to do with the stardew process?
I do see a few secs delay on some of the rightclick events but nothing is logged between them

yes, follow the instructions on how to install them. Neither of those mods are to install in the mods folder, but in the original content folder of the game
I'd check the post area for those two mods if someone converted them to a smapi mod

Hello! So I have several difficulties with some mods I was hoping y’all could teach me how to fix. I’ll start with the most pressing & go down:
1: I cannot change Grandpa’s Greenhouse to my Vertis Greenhouse mod, nor any other interior change mod for that matter. I have a reskin for the outside that works fine, but how do I modify the inside?
2: I messed something up in Ellie’s New Barn Animals so my reskinned cows reverted back to vanilla & I don’t know how to reverse it, I’m pretty new at reskins & AdoptnSkin is even more daunting to me lol
3: The walk through trellis mod isn’t working
4: I made the mistake of skipping through a cutscene in the wizard’s tower (witch’s since I have Rasmodia) & now I can’t enter it anymore, all that happens is I spawn in the void & using the front door to enter just makes me exit. How do I reset that glitch?
5: Custom kissing mod isn’t working either
I’m not really worried about the goth Haley or meat maker glitches that show up initially on my log, I’ll probably just remove those

your log says you messed up theconfig.json. either fix it or delete it (the game will then generate a new config file)

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. you could keep a backup of your save, skip 3 days and see if it reappers. if not go back to your backup and play from that

if by an unfortunate turn of events anyone else encounters this... I just fixed it by removing the mod that makes Robin upgrade buildings instantly (it didn't work on the house which is what I wanted so...). Apparently that was the problem. Now I went to upgrade my greenhouse and it did not disappear!

I recently upgraded to a pc, and updated my mods. Whenever I use a Farm Totem it looks like there's a memory leak, and my pc crashes (out of memory error on chrome). I have no clue which mod could be causing it.
It didn't happen on my laptop, and I haven't tried with other totems (takes a bit for my game to load bc of the mods).

Honestly you have too many mods to know. I’d try removing half of them and checking again, repeat until it stops, then readding half of the recently removed ones, until it happens again (to pinpoint the issue).
I’d also recommend to not get mods willy-nilly, as you have several mods doing the same or very similar things, which may cause incompatibilities - Capstone Professions and MARGO, HD Portraits and Portraiture
Also I think Get Glam is often causing some problems too, but I’ve never used that mod personally and those are usually visible in the logs, so you’d know if it does for you

Shipping Icon means you haven't shipped one of them yet
it might not be showing a bundle icon because you haven't unlocked the bundle yet

Hmmm, I have multiple mods engaging with the shops and this has led to one particularly annoying quandary -- shop overhaul has inventory that adjusts + pricing on the relationship you have with e.g. Pierre. However, these shops are winding up with two instances of the same good where one is discounted and one isn't. I'd like to try to determine what is adding which items, but is there any convenient way to do that?

I'm doing a modded playthrough, and I wanted to check something on that stardew checker website, and my save file is kinda weird. The file itself says it was created 1/8/23, but was last modified 11/17/20
And stardew checker has my save at being in like fall year 1, but I'm in spring year 2

So took a moment to check this particular thing - I would do a reinstall, as otherwise Dianna's missing her schedule strings file (or doesn't have one). I assume it'd be in there, at least, since Dianna probably has dialogue for when she's going places

(The same error happened when I had a personal mod moving Daia from RSV to the community center - she doesn't have schedule strings, so the game has to load an empty json to edit in schedule strings. I'm guessing something bugged up and it never loaded an empty json, since I'm also pretty sure Dianna has schedule strings)

hiya, im currently playing stardew valley expanded with a friend through code multiplayer. we cant milk our cows? when we try to milk them, the pail animation is changed to a fishing rod and nothing happens. does anyone know why this is or has had something similar happen and know of a fix?

No, I just wanted to say if it is safe to go to smapi 3.18.2 with all these mods since several of them ask for Pytk of which if I have it installed with a changed name but smapi 3.17.2 does register it for me that I should remove it but it doesn't I listen; and as they say that it is better to remove it in smapi 3.18.2

But short version is that CCR is trying to give Lunna schedule strings. Schedule strings don't exist for Dianna normally. Editing in that empty json code will allow for the schedule string file to load, so that CCR can edit it with the strings, and then it will properly fire the dialogues.

If it's somehow still the same in single player, verify your files, and if that doesn't work start doing a mod binary search. I would assume just based on your mod list it's Remote Fridge Storage or Gift Taste Helper, or potentially Convenient Chests, because pretty much every other mod you've got is so ubiquitous that someone would have reported the error already.
Verify your files first in case you installed XNB mods.

could you elaborate "not loading correctly" ?
in some circumstances PyTK makes loading very slow. You could try removing PyTK for now to see if your save loads (faster) and then evaluate whether its worth to keep PyTK
So what's happening when you warp to the farm? Other programs on your computer are running out of memory?
I don't see any memory spikes or fps drops associated with warping places in the game log
it's just not loading at all, my game will load in for me to pick a save and then stop loading after i pick a save and i will have to force quit the game entirely
i didn't want to just remove PyTK because I believe a large portion of my mods require it to load

could you renove PyTK just to test if it works without it? as long as you dont save (sleep) it wont harm your save
That's really odd. The log with FRL only shows about 1.5G during the farm warp, which seems about in line with what modded stardew usually runs at for me. I'll take a look at the other log and see what's in it

Previous log shows OOM on game startup? Doesn't even get to title I don't think. Says it ran out trying to build a regex object, and none of my mods use regex. Maybe they just have really low specs or chrome is eating a shitton of ram?
Well none of those mods that require PyTK will load basically. It’s safe but no reason to keep them in your folder if they’re not gonna load anyway.

technically you dont even need to remove them, smapi will realise they dont work and not load them. you should be safe to play then yes 👍

I really need to update CCR. Also I now add the strings to strings/schedules/Lunna to avoid loading blank schedules for an NPC that isn't mine. Discovered that you could "hitchhike" off another NPCs schedule strings
I'm hoping the next update with fix the Child2NPC error message too, although I still haven't figured it out.

Going to mostly stardew/chrome
Discord freezes (I can click/do anything in it). Same with steam client. I have to fully close from the task bar (not the manager thankfully) and restart
Also, I am getting so odd, super loud static kind of noise when I enter some places like my barn. Not every time but kinda randomly. The loud sounds have happened in other places too -- but I can't remember where. It's almost like it is trying to play a bad soundtrack? I dunno.

i have look up anything mod on mac, and i know its installed right because i did it the same way as all my other mods. im pressing f1 while hovering over something and then shift f1 and its doing nothing. can someone help
Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

It seems to always crash with the last line on smapi reading "Generating stock for QiShop" -- a shop tile framework related output. I could remove shop tile framework? Which I think takes down SVE, East Scarp, Ridgeside and Aquarium. So it may stop us from playing entirely
If our savegame can even survive such a hit

Typical tasks for Chrome - approximately 1000mb
Without mod:
Sdv load up/main screen - 1500-1700
Playing - 2k-3k
With Mod:
Chrome: 800-1000
Main menu/load up: 1600-3100 (it goes up the longer it's left loading, with some "not responding" in between)
General play: approximately 2800-3000 steady.
Farm totem usage: 3100 and stays
With the farm totem my game freezes, like it needs to think what to for the first couple times. The totem sprite in my hands turns black. After 2-3 times of usage everything works normal
It's been like this for a while - you click anywhere in/out of game while it's loading the game will stop responding completely and the "wait for it to respond/close it" error comes up

Honestly it's probably a splitscreen issue
Mods generally don't play well with splitscreen, you have SpriteMaster and such to offset the load of SVE/RSV, and your GPU is powerful enough to take Stardew modded with that stuff. Knowing all that, it's hard to say it's not related.
Well the point of playing was to have a game I could play and enjoy with my wife -- so splitscreen is the only way that makes sense to play for us. She's downstairs all upset right now with me because I can't fix it

Bus stop and backwoods mostly. Sometimes I can leave -- like at 7am. But if I come back, do some work and leave later, say noon or 3pm and it crashes...adding to the frustration as we have all these groundhog days where we repeat work over and over
that's very strange. when you removed warp network, did you remove aerocore as well?
also can you upload a log of that happening with frame rate logger installed? your last FRL log only indicated ~1500mb usage

If you launch smapi twice, connect with lan, and use "localhost"
That will let you play multiplayer on the same computer
Split screen was a late addition
This may be more stable frankly
not the ram usage, that I still can't replicate, but the weird farm totem behavior

It might be bc of the expansion mods I have - The aquarium or East Scarp. I know ES uses WN for the totems

you can probably find a guide on youtube for checking your hard drive plug, depending on if you have a sata or nvme drive. if it's all the way plugged in and still won't boot, the drive is dead and you'll have to a) replace it and b) go to a tech shop to get your data rescued
You can probably reasonably rescue the data with an enclosure

ok Multiplayer looks solid, with and without scepter menu, its working flawlessly and I might even remove Better Return Scepter as you do the return mode better (in BRT everyone in multiplayer shares the last warp, and return warping without warping soft locks farmhands)
It's just using a lot of memory, I just have to sit and let the game load up so the "stop responding" error doesn't happen, but it feels like it loads up faster now

it is a super useful mod though
Modded stardew takes awhile and due to its single threaded nature, windows will likely think its not responding, though SpriteMaster has some stuff to help calm windows down
not all drives support all SMART features
if it was earlier than like 2 weeks ago (I think) then it was still very much limited to smapi event loops, the v2 enables content packs to specify specific c# type methods to be monitored for performance, and log an instance field, intstance property or method argument while its there, and do so in a logical stack representation
I downloaded it today so if v2 is set to the main file on nexus then that's what I have
ok yeah, thats v2 (though its real potential is when you install content packs to tell it to monitor more things, like the example pack that monitors ContentPatcher internals and vanilla map loading)

If anyone ever needs this (#modded-stardew message) and is dumb like me, the solution was to go and edit the "outdoors" png file of the recolor mod I use + custom spouse patio redux. The image attached is the result if done right. The linked image is supposed to be Shane's chicken hatch. (I just thought Charlie deserved to hang out with the rest of my chickens)

you shouldn't even copy and paste. the game saves a txt file of the log. you can just click and drag that onto the log page

on windows it's in appdata/roaming/stardewvalley/errorlogs

in the box that comes up, type %appdata% and hit enter
this should bring up a file explorer window. scroll down and open the StardewValley folder, then the ErrorLogs folder inside that.
