- Custom Patio for Zoro 1.0.0 because it requires mods which aren't installed (aedenthorn.CustomSpousePatio, aedenthorn.CustomSpousePatio).

First, custom spouse patio is out of date

I don't know much of what's happening here, but Abigail is being affected schedule wise, meaning one of those map patches from trace your roots/always raining/etc. screwed the pooch at Pierre's shop

The town map is being screwed over as multiple schedules are being hurt in town, it's not just Pierre's
i had a wedding that day. used the Wedding Update Mod that changes the venue. i set it for beach but it looked like not the beach.. idk if that could be it
System.Exception: schedule pathing tried to find a warp point that doesn't exist. is stating that a warp point should exist, but doesn't
oh ok.. so that sounds more likely then..? bad wedding
Warp points are basically the way a character - or you - go from map to map
if it's affecting a vanilla NPC, something affecting the town map - especially since others have different schedules - is what's going wrong

But yeah. Something affecting the town map basically royally screwed the town map. Trace Your Roots is targeting the Town Map

It's not gonna be the wedding mod, and if it is, I'd like to speak to the wedding mod person who somehow screwed the entire town map for an event

i'm confused tho bc I got married on Fall 15.. didnt save. but the wedding didnt replay. (i get it's likely not the WUM causing problems but i wanted to redo the event for other costume reasons)

Marriage happens at the end/start of a day kind of weirdly, if you want to redo it I recommend debug wedding NPCNAME
to get married to NPCNAME

While I can’t answer the UI Info Suite thing, as mentioned the other day in regards to the “empty” wildflour folders, these are folders containing compat files so that the big craftable can better match your kitchen
SMAPI is flagging the folder as empty bc it doesn’t have a manifest or content json. The ReadMe flour provided explains how to use the compat files

It says I can update Modular Gameplay Overhaul but the latest ver in the downloads is in fact 0.9.6 so i guess it's a manifest issue?
ye, its just that mgo has several downloads, and it just looks for whatever has the higher version on the page
which just so happen to be optional downloads that are in version 1.0.0

ok i'm having some errors since using TMXL2CP to alter the abandoned *bride npc and mike boarding house npc. I altered some other mods with TMXL2CP and they seem to be working fine but the abandoned bride's home is gone so yh.

the abandoned bride mod had a little unusual way of handling the locations iirc and TMXL2CP might have trouble with it

i mean the other parts, specifically the "code" parts, the spouse room error is pretty clear, it says it's missing the map file
well, Mike too Patch error: Mike's Boardinghouse > Load Maps/SYS_Mike_ROOM has a FromFile which matches non-existent file 'assets\MikeSpouseRoom.tmx'.

Sometimes mods get flagged by overzealous antiviruses. If you're really worried about viruses in mods you can:
- download from Nexus or Moddrop, which check all files for viruses automatically
- preview the file contents on Nexus to see what you're downloading (content packs containing only images and json files are highly unlikely to be viruses)
- view the source code for most C# mods on Github by going to smapi.io/mods and checking the advanced options
- download and compile the source code yourself
tldr its okay to download. it's just a chrome warning that means nothing if you downloaded it from a safe site like nexus

Hi again...so......I stupidly deleted a file for Linus so I tried downloading the "Younger Linus Overhaul" mod. I got the sprite to work but the portrait is still the vanilla Linus (if that makes sense)....is there anything I can do or do I need to delete everything and start over?

you go to the mod page and check if they have any old versions still available
you have to search in the mod you want specifically, in the files section
some of them may not have any because they're new or because they don't like leaving old versions up

I was just copy pasting from a lot of things, but I also got told on a few occasions about a file name being too long t... copy, I guess?
And I just unzipped Love of cooking and the luck skill again instead of copy pasting and they're not showing up.

Ok, the notice I'm getting about the name being too long is when I try to copy paste files from one folder to the other.
the name of your new mods folder might be causing issues if it's a length thing

So, I'm starting a SVE world with a friend, and the last time I played SVE I was alone. Is it fully multiplayer capable, or could we come across some issues?
And as an extra, are there any mods you recommend to add along with SVE? It comes to personal preference, but I'd like to hear suggestions from other players
It's mostly MP-compatible
There's a couple visual bugs sometimes on map patches (probably a content patcher issue, hasn't been totally debugged)
Also sometimes quests don't finish/trigger for farmhands until you reload the game

Hellos. Peeking in to ask a quick question. I already talked to and messaged the creator of the mod, but since there's nothing in my SMAPI log, they told me to try the half and half way of trying to figure which mod is causing issues.
But does anyone know of Solid Foundation buildings bugging out if the game is reloaded from the title screen? I have Tiny Greenhouses and then another mod that makes the inside a little bigger. If I load the game from desktop, it's fine. But if I try to reload the day from the title screen, the mod that makes the inside bigger bugs out and it's the original inside in its place.
I'm wondering if there's some kind of setting or major incompatibility someone else might have/know of. 😅

More animals is also one, but it's not updated...Luckily I am friends with the creator of that mod and can ask the cake to fix XD....JK JK I'll look at the others too
@tired brook we have noticed an ongoing issue with people naming their children (and sometimes pets) the same as ingame characters, most frequently antisocial SVE NPCs, and this causing issues in the game where they get recognised as the NPC and spawn in, for example, the Adventure Guild. We have never managed to salvage a child in these situations. The game adds a space on the end of the name, which I believe is intended to alleviate this, but in these instances it does not appear to work. Is this something you have previously been made aware of? The most common one is "Cordelia", who is an SVE antisocial (and clearly a popular name). Changing the child's name does not appear to work, although we can sometimes manage to dove them. I can provide a save file and logs of the latest incident (which happened in the SVE server) if you need more information. (The latest incident had Child To NPC installed, which may have made the issue worse, I cannot recall if previous incidents had).

That's a game bug, so I can't really do anything about it in Stardew Valley 1.5. But if you can reproduce it in Stardew Valley 1.6 alpha and help with testing, it's certainly something we could look into addressing during the alpha or beta. In that case, come over to the 1.6 thread and we can discuss there!
....since it was just brought up in modded farmers I figure I should ask. Pathos, is there a way to add a config to SMAPI to change the warning text level for deprecated code? Obviously for the usual user it should stay up for the reference of "modder upgrade code already", but since mods are getting updated to 3.18 and there can sometimes be a lot of yellow text with warn text, is it plausible to add a config until SMAPI 4.0?
(It's fine if the answer is no, for the record - I get the text needs to be there for upgrade warns. I've just been meaning to ask for a while)
Sure, if (a) it's something multiple people want and (b) we have a SMAPI 3.18.2 for bug fixes, it's certainly something I could add.
I haven't even tried the 1.6 alpha yet. It scares me given how many of my mods will break (frameworks not being updated). But I will definitely be active during the beta period (once frameworks are ready), and will endeavor to replicate it. If it's a Child To NPC issue, then I'll bring it up to the person maintaining that.
I've tried to salvage at least three save files, and we had to revert back to pre-baby each time
If it only affects children when you have Child to NPC, I'd guess it is an issue with that mod. It converts the children into regular NPCs, which bypasses a lot of the game's logic to handle that edge case by ignoring non-villagers.
yeh, obviously and ideally, all antisocial NPCs should have more robust internal names.

Nesting mods (i.e. putting one mod folder inside another) won't work; SMAPI will stop searching deeper for mods once it finds a manifest.json in the folder.
That said, grouping mods into folders does work: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Install_mods. The folder names don't usually matter, since load order should be set automatically based on dependencies in their manifest.json.

You have not set SMAPI to open via Steam, so when you hit play only vanilla will show up

Whenever I load the game up for the first time, the larger version overwrites the original mod as intended. But if I reload from the title screen, the original smaller greenhouse overwrites it. If there's crops/tree inside, they're destroyed.

i belive its basically that if the mods arent updated when the next big smapi update comes out, they wont work, but most of these mods are actively updated and will be changed around so itll still work after a big smapi update

If two mods are targeting the decorative town trees, then you can run into overlaps like that. Most likely to happen with recolors, which tend to target entire tilesheets
This looks like Flower Valley (pink tree) and something else (VPR? foliage redone? DaisyNiko’s Recolour? Eemie’s?) Without a log I can’t say for sure

gimme a moment to look at your config options. Flower Valley has some but you will almost certainly have to choose between Earthy Recolour and Eemie's
Both of those do a full recolor of everything, so you basically need to choose whichever color palette you prefer there

Yeah. You might even have to remove 2 out of 3. There is an option of Flower Valley to turn off the foliage, which would stop the pink tree from peeking out from behind the other tree
I do think Eemie's and Flower Valley are more likely to work together than Earthy Recolour and Flower Valley--this is largely b/c Eemie seems to have more config options

Yup you have two folder with the same content inside, which is project yellog. Delete one of the, either the one with [cp] in the folder name or the other one
I saw your screenshot awhile ago that's why i can assume the error

Check the mod desc on how to install the mod. If they ask you to copy the file into content folder, means big NO. It's xnb modding
