I mean yes PyTK and CF are old and I very much dislike them and advise people to stop using them... but also they aren't broken with the unofficial update to CF plus PyTK
so we do try and help with them anyway, since users sometimes can't live without CF yet
... they'll have to deal soon, though stares at 1.6 in the distance

Quick question; I'm using Walk of life and am no longer getting the exp notice when I do things like mine or forage. I don't know what's causing it, and there's no red text in the Smapi console other than something related to pokefy because I turned off the reskin for the horse.

Uh.. I don't think so? Doesn't UI just give you info when you hover over a thing? The exp count was showing every time I did something like pick up an item or hit a rock with the pickaxe.

So my multiplayer game just crashed as i was going into the next day. I have the SMAPI Log here, and i would have uploaded the log on the website, but its not letting me get the Parase log because the file is TOO big. Is there any solution? I cant trim it cause the page even tells me not to use "console text" for the log. So what can i do to show you guys the log, or the bot the log if i cant get the confined version of it?

Its antonym, Client-side, means anyone can have the changes on their end. Think Content Patcher mods that change dialogue - person A could have it, while person B could decide not to have it
Server side means all players must have it
I'm not going to lie to you - I have a bad feeling about your modlists if that's a different thing. But suffice to say you probably are going to have an unfortunate mismatch of mods which caused this

It's just telling that PyTK is old and won't be compatible on smapi 4.0. for the moment, PyTK is on compatibility mode

I would recommend updating all your mods. Many mods that previously relied on pytk have since migrated to content patcher, so you might want to check if you really even need pytk anymore

Still struggling with Love of Cooking and the fact that it straight out deletes three recipes, two of which are vanilla recipes now listed as requiring the torch recipe to make.

Does anyone know what the Event ID is for the Penny+Pam complete their trailer -> house transformation? I have a completely upgraded house + Community Center and I don't have the option to purchase a nice house for them which I would like to. I run a lot of mods + play on multiplayer and everyone has upgraded their house to the max (but even when I play on singleplayer, I don't see the upgrade). How can I force the event to happen? if you know what caused the json shuffle (mod update, removal or addition), then i'd suggest reverting to that setup and removing the fence before redoing whatever caused the shuffle. might be pretty tricky otherwise

Well I'm on mobile and my phone does not allow me to open up any config pages says they aren't compatible which makes it annoying to try and use mods that require key bindings like cbj cheats mod.
I tried the regular binded key for the mod cbj cheats but it doesn't work and andriod key binding require you to get into the configs to do so.

verify your files. The game is attempting to access an XNB file that isn't vanilla and doesn't exist
Error Handler should take care of any SMAPI mods that are removed, but it won't take care of XNB ones, hence why it's not recommended

It isn't, arcane, but this is the second mod outside of Paper Mario that may have not gotten removed properly with Error Handler

Well i redownloaded the cbj cheats mod and it now works not sure why it didn't the first time
l downloaded the latest version of SMAPI, extracted it, and if l run the .bat file, it just gives me this error message. l'm sure that my anti virus did in fact not remove it.
l also deleted and downloaded it again just to make sure
Well, if you're sure your antivirus didn't remove it, please check your internal folder for that file

As long as you're using the most recent modular version of DSV instead of the old all-in-one version, you can use it without the other players requiring it

hey i was messing with the characters sprites on the Portraits folder (for a mod) but i didn't do it quite right and got this to happen.
You're saying two separate things. Portraits are for character portraits, sprites are character sprites under the characters folder
More than likely you put a portrait in the sprite spot, causing what you're seeing

Only real way to fix that is to reinstall the mod to get the files back, unless you want to hunt through the recycle bin to figure out where to put stuff

(Free Love is a mod that lets you marry or room with multiple people and has no impact on dialogue)
In the battle between dialogue mods, the one that loads last will win, but True Love Valley only covers a handful of marriage candidates, so you'll still see mostly Canon Friendly dialogue

in short, yes you can play with both of them without issue. You just won't see the Canon Friendly dialogue for some NPCs probably

Good question. I haven't used True Love Valley in a really long time so I don't remember if it includes marriage dialogue or not, but it probably does given the theme. Canon Friendly also includes marriage dialogue

It seems to be recognizing the "Compatibility Versions" folder as a mod, as the other two folders in that mod work perfectly with their manifest.jsons, but the compat folder has no such json
I can't download it atm to check what the readme says, but that might hold the key to figure out what should be happening

Right-click the shortcut, choose Properties, and add this to the end of the Target field: --mods-path "Mods (multiplayer)" (changing folder name as needed). Don't delete any of the existing text in that field! This should be added to the end of what's already there. Done correctly, it should look something like "your-path-here\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" --mods-path "Mods (multiplayer)" basically a modified launch options

OK SO. In a fit of insanity I decided to do something that I probably should have done earlier: remove and test out the mods to see what it is that's causing the recipes to dissappear.

hi, i was wondering if by reducing the amount of mods that require pytk but not completely removing it. will the loading times be lessened?
i literally have one mod that requires pytk (lux's food mod) and yet it is very agressive towards loading times, i have to wait 6 minutes or more and if i do something while waiting the game crashes.

You need Custom NPC Exclusion, Event Repeater, and Shop Tile Framework mod that works for mobile. No need to install slightly cuter aesthetic for sve cause you don't have sve installed anyway. Also friendship bosster is new mod (first version is uploaded on 2022), mobile mod works for which version is before Dec 2020.
I don't see grampleton field loaded on your smapi. Did you install it?

I didn't but I downloaded some mods that made me replace some files in the tilesheet folder
right, the author said that mod adds 2 extra tiles to leah's roof but shouldn't be gamebreaking but it takes a loooong time to load and I haven't been able to open my saves
well, i think the map patch just isn't applied and it does nothing. loading times could be significantly improved if you removed pytk (and by extension everything that depends on it). i've heard that the spritemaster mod can improve load times as well
where can I see all mods that uses pytk?
nowhere really, but if you remove it and launch the game the log shows what isn't loaded because it's missing

I'd reinstall all of your JA mods - Json Assets is telling you that certain files don't exist within the mods

Hi, so I ended up being able to get AdoptnSkin working, and have all my animals and pets working except for Dinosaur.
I tried to use the AdoptnSkin PNG provided in 'Ridgeside Torta Cat Replacer' as the png for Dinosaur skin folder, however, in game it's cut out so only a small portion is visible (mostly invisible with shadow)
It was intended as a replacement skin for cat, but is there a way instead to use it for dinosaur?

Sort of, except the "white space" in question is transparent in this scenario
(otherwise you'd end up with a sprite with a white background, which happened with one of SVE's NPCs on ||Fable Reef||)
What kaliban is describing it basically that. normally adopt n skin would use it for cat, but the cat has a different size so it's instead showcasing the top, transparent part ("invisible with shadow"), and the part that is visible is cut off (e.g. part of the sprite, but lower)

Hello, I'm having some trouble with what may be a compatibility problem with furyx639's Better Chests and blueberry's Love of Cooking. If I open the cooking menu and close it, either by cooking something or just simply closing the menu, I can't reopen it unless I reload the game. I get the "A kitchen appliance is currently in use" error. Removing Better Chests seemed to fix the problem, but I'd like to keep using it if there's something I can disable in config that would do the trick. Hello! Iโm playing local coop with my wife on steam deck. Using stardrop mod manager and playing SVE with several other mods. Game plays completely fine until we both save for the day. The way I fixed it was deleting the change to temporary sprite balverinesmarlon part in the event code
Reg Marlon will show up and event will proceed as normal

what typically causes the "index out of range" errors for folks (assuming it's not something that happens willy nilly)?
Alright in order from what I can see here
Mods have dependencies, or requirements on the Nexus mod page. Without those, you cannot run the mods. You seem to have downloaded all of the mods you wanted but none of their dependencies, so they will not display in game. Go back to the mods you downloaded, check the "requirements" tab for what you need. Note, just get the requirements - anything under "mods requiring this file" are not necessary.
Is the Happy Birthday event happening on your birthday? Otherwise that's a harmless error that sometimes occurs after a warp. As to the Lance error, have you unlocked Lance?

If you are playing vanilla with friends, simply remove the launch options, rather than your mods. Alternatively, create SMAPI as a non-steam game so you can have vanilla and mods. Most of the mods you're showing are C# mods that will cause problems, especially Json Assets, though some like the OG 3 SMAPI mods, Content Patcher, and CJB are technically MP compatible

If it's not your character's birthday, it's harmless. As for Lance, that error will occur until you've unlocked Lance, much like once Morris is taken out in SVE his particular NPC Adventures pack will give you errors until the end of time

....Honestly I should ask Purrpling if there's a way to conditionally include an NPC in the beta. I really dislike that Morris error and there's really no way around his inclusion in NPC Adventures SVE at present once you kick his ass outta town

Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).
So, the mods immersive professions and Aquarism don't actually have anything in terms of a mod...it just has a file that says "Update to Modular Gameplay Overhaul"
So I just use that instead of the other two mods?

Reinstall the main SVE file. it's saying 99% of it is missing
Your save file is corrupt, delete your current saves and retitle the _old save and savegameinfo to not have _old in it
Yeah your SVE is apparently throwing most of the errors but your save file is also corrupt, screwing it

bettershopmenu lets you organize by category
(seeds, recipes, crafting, etc.)

Though with that error, I am guessing there is some sort of corruption of your save file. I am not sure the rules on here about posting a save file. If you like you can upload it to google drive and I can open it in an xml editor to see if I can spot any obvious formatting issues. Keep in mind your save file includes everything you have put into the game (names of animals, favorite thing, farm name ect). If any of that is sensitive data, you'd be exposing it to the world.

Hey, so I've got a problem. Whenever I do things in a day and then go to sleep, it stays on a black screen and the console loops. The problem seems to be something about special orders? I've posted this on the forums and on r/smapi, let me copypaste my message.
I have no idea whats causing this. I've tested a few things and seems that doing nothing and just sleeping works fine. Shipping some produce is fine. But it seems this occurs whenever I finish a special order or complete something in my journal. I first noticed this with Willy's boat. Fixing one of the things leads to the black screen but fixing all of it causes no problems. I went a day without touching the boat at all and gave robin 10 iron bars for a quest and did some stuff for Ridgeside Village which were the hotel special order and the Ridge Forest coloured gem quests, which I both completely finished. I only shipped silver and gold cauliflowers on that day as well. I have no idea why this is happening.
EDIT: after extensive testing, I managed to proceed to the next day which required me to do limited things. I only completed the Ridgeside hotel special order. Unfortunately, the bug occurred again the next day. I while trying to be cautious and only did one thing in my journal which was giving 10 iron bars to Robin. The rest of the day i shipped a few silver and gold potatoes, gave Shane his present and went through a few cutscenes. "

i disabled pykt and now my game works, it by proxy disabled tmxl map toolkid and some other probably unrelated mods tough, so i guess ill try something else for now

Most authors have not updated to the BETA, so you won't manage to get most companion packs working
so... was it a mistake to have beta installed instead of the 0.17.5?
if you just want to use NA with the base NPCs, then you're fine either way, but if you're adding packs for Mateo, RSV, Lavril, Juna, Juliet, etc you should stick with the main/stable release for now.

im trying to reset skills with modular gameplay overhaul (talking to the statue at sewers). i pay the fine but when i go to sleep i dont get the "pick new skills" menu, it has happened twice now
