SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance.
You can turn off the smoothing if you like
ill install the spritemaster but should i delete PYTK? i thought i shouldnt bcuz i think some of the mods rely on it?

I don't think bundling the DLLs directly is legal, you're supposed to install the redistributables (which Steam should do automatically when installing the game).

You can...
- remove all of your content packs, and see if it still happens;
- if so remove half of your remaining mods, and see if it still happens;
- if it does, repeat step 2 with the remaining mods.
- if it doesn't, it's likely one of the mods you just removed (or a mod that needs it, or a mod interaction).

The nice thing about binary search is you narrow it down very quickly.
i'm not sure this led me to actually figure it out, i think restarting the game actually made it stop
maybe there's a hotkey that triggers it
the game doesn't recognize key releases that happen when it's not focused, which means that if you alt-tab out then the game thinks you're still holding alt until you press it again - maybe something similar happened, i don't know

I'm not an expert in that regard, but as far as I can see from search it seems related to incompatible drivers (this doesn't mean "incompatible" regarding your system in general, but regarding this specific feature). You might have to do more research on it but I wouldn't touch it without additional knowledge. If your antivirus didn't find anything, it should be fine. I would just still backup files that are important for your real life (i.e. work related) in case it happens again and might hit one of those files. 🙂

How long the game can takes for creating a new game with much mods ?
Depends on how strong you computer is, how many mods are installed, what expansion mods are installed, is PyTK mod installed. On my 7 y.o. laptop, 253 mods (no PyTK but a few expansion mods such as SVE, RSV, ES, etc) took about 10 minutes when making new save (skipped intro)

morning folks! I was wondering if anyone knows why this red area near my farmer's hands won't go away. I thought it was a skirt mod I had installed but I deleted it and it's still there. When I rotate her it almost looks like a skirt...slightly flared I guess? I also have the clothing mod that adds the oversized sleeves, could that be doing it?
Going by the areas I would think it's more likely the sleeves. 
Is it only an issue with that specific skirt or in general?

I know it's late. But I went to search ridgeside to see if anyone with mobile is going to try to download the mod. As @scarlet quail has mention it is missing contents. I too was fine with it until I start to play and realize I was missing some things. I went to digging and realized mobile is WAY behind. Which I didn't know, I thought it was a little bit behind not alot.

Mobile version is at the very bottom 1.1.3 but you can see how much had been added. I couldn't even enjoy Ridgeside event sadly.
I think it's important to let mobile know that, cause I didn't think it was that behind.
RSV's file download tab makes it very clear that the mobile version doesn't have the content from 2.0+ versions. It's unlikely that it will be updated until mobile catches up with the PC version of Stardew.
Yes I know. But as I have stated I didn't know how much content was added to the mod. And I had to click on post to see the Q and A to know that the events won't be trigger. Which isn't on the front page.
There is nothing wrong with letting other mobile user know.
There is nothing wrong with misunderstanding some thing. Some people like myself don't think it's a big problem until the play it and realized how much is missing.

Yeah, it was a huge point of contention when Nexus changed their policies to disallow deleting mod files... and I'm still not a fan of it myself.
(eh, it's fine to request people use the latest version of your mod if they want support, especially if it's stuff fixed already)

(Yeah I just have like. instances of the wrong file being uploaded, and also packs I uploaded to my BAGI page prior to being schooled on permissions. I could only archive them instead of remove them outright, unfortunately)

hi smapi always closes immediately for me. i did everything in the troubleshooting wiki to no avail so i really think it's something wrong with my computer. smapi even closes with 1 mod immediately. do i have all the correct programs to open each file? Sorry for the image spam!

Are you letting it load or are you clicking into SMAPI at any point?
I do both and it closes eventually. I let it load and it closes immediately or after a few seconds when the game opens with only a few mods.
Alright you're going to have to be more specific. Because once the game opens it shouldn't be able to crash like you're stating

So, walk me - and others, since I have to go soon - through exactly what you do. No detail too small
so i open the smapi and sometimes it closes immediately. since i'm just running ui info suite w/ 3 essential mods then it loads quick enough to enter the game but it closes very quickly to the point that it is completely unplayable.
Sounds like it could be antivirus issues
i disabled all my antivirus and uninstalled smapi then reinstalled it and it did the same thing.
When it crashes, is there anything in Windows event viewer/the log?
um i'm not sure what that means but sometimes it opens with the terminal or powershell, it says it closed bc of an error and a set of numbers

i got an error with the market day mod and i dont know what it means. and idk if this is just unlucky or a bug, but no one has come to my stall(ive had 2 days with challenge mode on) and npcs(Pam being one of them) just go and stay at another stalls chest all day long, doing nothing. the tl;dr is that the mobile port of 1.5 isn't quite ready yet so mobile is still on 1.4, so you need the most recent 1.4 stardew compatible versions of mods

like, there's a mail that you receive after downloading the mod saying that "Khadija's shop is open", but even after I read and close the mail, the mail is still there and if i interact with the mailbox again it'll keep showing the same mail infinitely

Im trying to do ridgeside valley on a shockbyte stardew server The pathway up works in singleplayer but doesnt work when in the server
the mods are the exact tame
And I dont think there is any mods that are messing up on server side

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

What specifically has led you to that conclusion? Without that information, we cannot help you. Is the install batch script thingy (the installer, in non-technical terms) giving you an error? Are you trying to run it in admin mode (don't do that)? Are you expecting SMAPI to be in a certain place?

Okay, so, I just downloaded the "NPC Creator" app and tried to use it to make an NPC, pasted the NPC file into the "Mods," booted the game - no NPC. Did I miss a step, or is there something wrong with the NPC itself? And if so, how should I best go about trouble-shooting?
I suspect that I might've screwed up the NPC's location data, but don't know enough to say if that's real or not

hello!! I feel like a boomer when it comes to technology, because I’ve always used a windows 7- 32 bit comp and have had to transition over to the Stardew Compatibility version when it came out haha
I’m a seasoned player, but I want to try out mods for the first time to shake things up a bit. My concern is whether or not most mods are actually compatible with this version. Do I have to install an older version of SMAPI and/or older versions of the mods I want to try out??

You sure you didn't accidentally throw it in a chest or the fridge? (that's where I keep mine)
could be just a consequence of having bigger mods like SVE (depending on the computer) or could be something else. the log can have some information related to the lag spikes. if not, you can try installing the Profiler mod and seeing if it finds something useful
I have a issue with modded Co-op . My friend cant log onto our farm. It is connecting all the time. She has all the Mods and there are no errors. Nothing wrong with her Steam Client. But its still not working.
Try launch and make co-op in vanilla first to check if it caused by mods. My guess is it is more likely connection issue

So question, is removing a custom NPCs spouse room okay? I removed Sterling's spouse room from ARV because it relied on TMX, which relied on PyTK. ARV still loaded so..?

Weird, the endpoint for the API works perfectly in my browser, so I cant't see how it would fail in game. I'm having a bit of trouble simulating a SMAPI update check, so i'll try to do that.
When i simulate a mod update check the server responds with error 415 😕

Having problems with FTM not spawning stuff. Deleting the data with my save inside the ftm folders doesn't fix the problem. Removing all mods using FTM also doesn't help, as the game crashed when I tried it (could be due to Lavril living at my farm).

@river rapids I hate to join and ask immediately, you might have put this somewhere, but I did check pages and follow the directions for installing new sprite sheets. Perhaps this was for mods "compatible" with Adopt n Skin already? I was trying to use Leopard Geckos sprite sheets for chickens, renaming the sheet Brown/WhiteChicken_5 but I'm getting "there is no skin ID 5" when trying to use it on the chicken. Got the correct ID, in this case 5 (4 5 works, but not 5 5 resulting in the error)

Are you placing the images into the AdoptSkin/assets/skins/ folder? anywhere in there will do.
that's the only thing I can think of without more info, at least 
I'm placing them in the other folders like Chickens or Horses. For example, I wanted to replace chickens with leopard geckos, so I extracted the xmb from the original mod, renamed it BrownChicken_5 and put it in the same folder as the other chicken reskins
But the "skin 5 doesn't exist" error keeps happening
Your guess is as good as mine here because I generally recommend people don't use Vortex
if it was manual, I'd say delete the old mod and unzip the version downloaded from Nexus to mod folder
Files that are original "xnb" can't be renamed to png to make them work- did you name them xnb and not xmb? Leaving them in whatever format they were in originally and placing them in the /skins/ folder will work

The issue: During the 4-heart event with Corine, my entire game crashed. The console said /Applications/Stardew Valley.app/Contents/MacOS/StardewValley: line 164: 95310 Segmentation fault: 11 ./StardewModdingAPI "$@" but that's it, and I have no idea what's going on. If it's related to Ridgeside, a different mod, or my computer is just doing something that's never happened before.

Hello everyone! How are you feeling today? I have a question about modding and save games.

So I returned to the game after a few years and installed SMAPI since it was the mod loader I used before. I loaded an old save and it loaded fine but no errors popped up and I can't figure out how else to identify the old mods it was saved with.
So I have a save but I have no way of figuring out what mods it was saved with so I can't reinstall them.
Well, I have some good news and some bad news
The bad news is if you don't already have those mods being loaded, you're SOL on figuring out what they were. Error Handler would have told you if invalid content was removed to prevent a crash in-game, so you didn't have any content altering mods.
The good news is two-fold. First, you can probably check nexus for your download history and find it that way. Second, you're not losing any progress if you didn't have any content-altering mods

After I installed the new version of SMAPI (not strict mode), I got some errors in the game when I was online with multiple players. This never happened in version 3.16. To be exact, the client reported an error and I as the host did not have any reported errors.

First, that area should be a memorial area since you have SVE. Something's map patching over SVE's map

That is plainly not correct. Even if you didn't send then CJB and Interface Beautification, you're still missing 6 C# mods between the two, and CJB would only account for two. Interface beautification would be Content Patcher, I believe, so that's not a problem

I know how to compress files through 7-ZIP or bandzip software. If I directly put the mod folder into mods instead of splitting it into multiple folders such as [cp] [npc] [ja], can it take effect? It seems convenient to manage and update mods.

dropbox is blocked in your country - i looked up alternatives and found FileCloud? if that works in your country?

I see that the 7zip website has 2 options in your native language - check the left side of the page
just zip your mods folder and send that over whichever cloud sharing service you and your friends can use, tell them to unzip the file into their mods folder, and hopefully you and your friends can play without issues
I carefully compared the mod list, the 6 mods are CJB Cheats Menu, CJB Item Spawner, DaisyNiko's Earthy Interface, Starblue Valley (1.5 Dirty Fix). So I loaded 128 mods, but the client only loaded 122. These are all content mods, the first 4, or even 5 are absolutely safe.
We tried twice in total, the first time the client was just missing the first 4 mods (we had been playing online in this mode until we updated SMAPI 3.18), they came out with three typical errors, two starting with [game] and one starting with [luck skill], so I disabled luck skill for them to try to fix it.
In the second time, they were missing 6 mods, and after using only luke skill, they still had the [game] error. So I think it's not the mod inconsistency, maybe there is a deeper problem.
The typical error report is as follows.

Some other errors that don't seem to affect the game too much, they are just errors, we can still play normally.

BaiduCloud is another option for Icarusr to use, as well.
I don't know about 3 or 4. 1 means whatever mod adds "Anneliese" is not present on your friend's end, and if it is, it needs reinstalling. Not sure about 2
Thank you very much, I already have the compression software, but it looks like the situation may be able to not be as simple as we thought, I went to make sure that before the difference between 128-122 mods, we were just 4 functional mods apart and still not working properly. Other players would crash when switching maps, I watched the logs and it seems to be related to npc or mapping, sorry I don't know anything about programming or code at all, I can only read the obvious red problem codes like missing fronts etc.

I’m not sure (and it’s possible one of your other mods might be interfering). I use Expanded Fridge and don’t have trouble using the ingredients that show up in the other tabs. But I do remember it didn’t work with certain things so it could be a compat issue!

Longevity is very problematic.
I would recommend removing it entirely and reverifying your files.
If you want dynamic clothing try diverse stardew valley or seasonal cute villagers instead.

sauvignon is broken according to smapi.io/mods (and it's spitting a lot of errors on the second log). there's a lot of patching happening especially on warps and the lag spikes could be just that or something else, difficult to say from the log. it would be easier to tell if you uploaded the logs just after a bigger lag spike happened (if the cause is printed to the log at all). you can also install the Profiler mod to get more information. the npc is from Random NPCs
I was wondering if this is how stardew is or if its mod or a bug? So I have npc adventure and also a couple of custom npc mods like Juna, I am trying to ask her to accompany me to the mines but she keeps repeating the same dialogue over and over again (one of her normal dialoges about some random stuff) so it won't let me ask her to accompany her. Is this npc adventure mod thing, juna mod thing, vanilla game thing or bug thing?
It's a quirk of the system. As long as someone has a repeatable dialog you cannot recruit them

Basically, the patch for Marlon is trying to edit Marlon's portraits in a size that's too wide for the image. It shouldn't be doing that, though.

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance.

You don't need to use the resampling options, it helps with loading times and optimization even without the sprite resampling
disable it in the config
install generic mod config menu, it allows you to change mod options easily without having to edit the config file
spritemaster has an option to enable or disable resampling, which is what is changing the way your fonts and sprites look. Disable that option.

multiple mods may be trying to change the horse galloping sound check out your mods list and just know that they load by alphabetical order so if you want something to load last and override add a z to the folder name

does anybody else use Kaya's Gravel Path and Wood Path re-textures for AT? I use both "Beach Flooring" and "Flowery Field", and the gravel paths that I painted as the glittery texture from Flowery Field, automatically change to the beach flooring approx. every 3-4 days.
I then have to manually paint them the other texture again, only for them to turn into the beach flooring 3 days later 😦

Hi Im having an issue modding stardew valley. I have it from pc gamepass & installed smapi & got it to sync with curseforge. however when I try to install mods from curseforge it tells me I need smapi even tho its already installed & I launched it & closed it out.
can you install the mod regardless?
maybe it's like how nexus does it, where it's just a warning, but the website doesn't actually know whether you have it or not
Stardew mod developers don't use Curseforge, so you shouldn't be using it either, as you'll find barely any mods there
