had to shorten the error log since it was to big to be uploaded with smapi log, but since the error log just repeated the same thing I figured it was okay
oof that's the worst way to shorten a log, when trimming a log you need to trim the repeating error at the end
instead of removing the modlist etc
something's gone wrong with children, but i don't know if you have e.g. the mod that makes children keep growing

odd question. is there a specific command to debug and test a spouse room/patio? I'm sure there's not as from looking in the debug commands I didn't find anything similar to that. I tried to test my NPC's spouse room at least and got a 3 page long red wall of death.

It's also possible you're trying to marry with level 1 farmhouse since you're debugging

The worst that should happen with a spouse room is that the room fails to load, btw. And it isn't that hard if you've got the proper stuff for it - for example, I have the Isla conversion I did near me, and that code wise is:

It probably won't keep the NPC married, mind you, if the NPC has an unlock condition - Isla kept unmarrying me in debug - but she got married for a day and so I could test the spouse room

Yep, you fixed it! Thank you so much. It's just saying it's failing to load now so that's a step in the right direction. I couldn't find any walkthroughs/guides/tutorials specifically on spouse rooms/patios, so I was trying to learn and mimic what I was seeing in other custom NPCs.

Like Wingheart said, this log is unusable by us. The error isn't enough, we need the modlist plus what precedes the error. Either trim the errors at the end or recause the error, exit after causing it, and upload that log

I don't know if it's the reason for your issue but SMAPI says that you haven't installed Content Patcher while a mod requires it.

Been playing stardew on pc with mods for 3 years now and I'm for some reason getting this error, I've never gotten it before until now.

here is the full log. Ignore the "update these mods!" part, they are all up to date, SMAPI just thinks they are not. I checked them all over multiple times

Mail Framework Mod uses deprecated code (IContentHelper.AssetEditors) and will break in the upcoming SMAPI 4.0.0. <<-- This is what it's about and you can ignore it for now as we're not at 4 yet. I don't know when the message was included in SMAPI (haven't kept an eye on it) so maybe that's what got people confused. 
3.18 made those warnings show up as yellow; they were there before too, but at a lower log level
I've restarted my PC, restarted Steam, verified the game files but the problem continues. Works fine with another save but not with this one. It's weird that it works without a problem for my sons save file, same PC, same mods I mean..but for this save file it just crashes. I'll try removing the Birthday mod cause it didn't crash until that day, so that is the only "odd" thing between the two save files

Ok, I see. It started when our internet suddenly disconnected while playing this save file and from there on it's been a problem.
Maybe they're lucky and the backup is still fine.
In that case they would just loose a day.
What was the command for the backup save?

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.
And as it says: Backup the saves before doing it. If you're very lucky this might solve the issue.

I've done that and starting the game now, we'll see.. Just going to play a quick day, like going to sleep instantly, just to see if it crashes
It must be something with the Birthday mod, old save file worked fine, went to sleep (it was the Birthday) the next day I get a bunch of letters from people with birthday gifts and that day won't save. removing the mod now to see if that solves it.
Sadly, same problem. Old save file works, but the following day the game crashes when going to sleep..! I just don't understand this. So frustrating. it's not my save file but my 12 year old daughters, she's losing her mind over this so I'm trying to help her. Is there anything to be done or should we just call it a day for this one? She's come so far and worked so hard so it's heartbreaking if she has to have to start over now. But it seems like it. π¦

A friend and I are playing together β for some reason, when we hand some plants/food items/seeds (from some new mods, something called PPJA?) to one another, they show up as different items depending on whose inventory it is in? And then they don't work properly in terms of being placeable etc.

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

are you keeping your mods in OneDrive/Dropbox/similar or are you using Vortex?

JA looks for directories, which means if you get conflicted copies, that breaks things
I forgot how Google Drive deals with conflicted copies but this happens with Dropbox sometimes

Any sync software has a chance of doing that, I usually recommend just emailing a zip file and then not changing mods during a playthrough

so a question, i'm using the better fishing mod (it's cheaty yes ik) and there's a feature to skip legend mini game, so i think what happens is that when i caught the fish and the mini game didn't play, it didn't count as catching the fish? there was no popup and lookup anything says this

it happens more often if there's two people syncing the same directory
so back when I used to use Dropbox to collaborate with people more often (and had it synced to my hard drive) I'd see it every few months or so
usually nbd - we could figure out which powerpoint was the right one
well, it didn't count as caught so you can probably catch another

it's the hd sync that can produce duplicated files

@summer swan The funny thing is that the old save file worked perfectly..played the day, went to sleep and it all saved as usual..it is the next day that causes the problem..doesn't matter if we do nothing at all and go to sleep immediately, that day just crashes.

Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

Technically it's a vanilla game bug I believe, but most people who hit this issue end up using SMAPI as without it the error won't even appear

@gaunt gust @summer swan Thanks for trying. She told me now that her first child went missing.."she" became pregnant, got the "everything went fine" from Sebastian but there was no child. This must be the missing child.
And no, not her first farm, she's played since she was 8 but this was the first farm she got far with since English is not our first language, so it's a bummer π But.. if it's not solveable I could as well try to delete the child event from the save file and see what happens
I don't know about coding etc and also not if it's possible to rescue that save but maybe the starting point was the first child and not the 2nd one and it did just take a long time until it became visible. You can also backup the save like once a week or so to be more safe (no guarantee of course) so that it might only become a "loss of progress" depending on the issue.

Given Fireplaces are just fireplaces, Seasonal Cute I have and it doesn't do that, and Slime Hutch supposedly should just replace the hutch stuff, I'd assume it's Toned Down or (CP) Dam
Unrelated, but your NPC Adventure version is the wrong one for those content packs. You need the stable (0.17.5) version to use them at present

does anyone know why putting on shoes always turns them red? It started happening whenever I used fashion sense at first but would revert after a bit until they suddenly got stuck red. I took FS out now but they still turn red.

the mods are up to date, i had re-downloaded them all several times to be sure. I believe their manifest files have not been updated to match causing the false flag (had one mod creator confirm that being the case with theirs)

the boot issue was there when I still had all dependency mods
Before starting a new map: Try file verification (if you're on Steam) and restarting your pc.
You might also try to start the game without any mods: Go to the game folder and start Stardew Valley.exe. Start a map (skip intro), go to bed, exit the game and load that new save (still without mods) and see if it can be loaded.
Just loaded a new map, will see what happens, then verify and try what you said if it closes.

In the popup go to "view". There's a long list: Scroll down till you find something like "hidden files and folders". Check if those are shown or not shown.

You learn such things when you break games or savegames often enough. 
But maybe make yourself a note if it ever happens again: Try the Stardew Valley.exe in the game folder and if that doesn't help too try file verification. Also restarting pc can help.

I don't think such a thing exists. At most, you'll find multiple mods with the aesthetic you want, but I can't think of any mod that completely changes all the parts you're describing

None, unless they all change the same thing. For terrains, you'll only find mods that completely replace them so you won't be able to use two of the same. As for mostly everything else, there's a chance you can find what you want as Alternative Textures which should prevent any conflicts

You can go on nexus and search 'Medieval' and you'll find some things. From what I remember there's already Medieval and Victorian buildings which I think both are offered in AT. For craftables, there's Gwen's Medieval Craftables

people do this rather frequently. here is Lemur's explanation for how to fix the issue from the ES discord:
Open the east scarp ftm folder and go into data then delete the one with your farm name. Itll remove all forage but reset the spawns.
so this should allow the ring to respawn so you can get it again

Farm Type Manager (FTM) controls modded forage spawns but it also does other things... like spawn monsters, and in this case, the ruby ring

What seems to be the newest version has "no longer works for most people" in the description. I would take that as "don't use it" from the mod author.

It only happens after i add my converted version of dcburger for SVE. I'm not sure what it wants
there isnt character files for any of the mentioned npcs in the dcburger mod since its a portrait for SVE characters. and the other places i expect to have them like SVE and the main game have the png's exactly as listed here ie Morris.png.

As a random sidenote β we have identical mod lists as I sent her a zip file of all my mods today β before I did so we had "JA shuffle" or something happening to us (thanks for the help fixing that atravita!) and that appears to be fixed but we now have this issue instead!

Nope literally did everything step by step. It works in single but multiplayer the error still happens. Removed XNB SAAT and TMXL toolkit. Still happens. I think it might just be the mods (CJB Cheats freeze time ) as itβs a time loop issue ? But for now we have opted to playing singularly until I can find the issue with why itβs only on MP

From what I can tell based on your log, load time is pretty bad but it's still eventually getting to loading - specifically, you get "mods loaded and ready!" at 12:33:12, and then it eventually loads at 12:36:11 and just takes a moment afterwards

Finally working. Stardrop really helped. Vortex and ModDrop both put everything in the correct place, but were not launching via svapi, so only base game. Thanks @lament vortex
I've been playing the Immersive Farm version for and suddenly inbetween days, it stopped working. Like I was playing the larger map, went to sleep, woke up in the old map. I've restsrted it. The Smapi thing that runs before it loads says everything is fine.

It did a couple days ago but I figured it out! I thought the map had changed because my buildings were all the old style again (I had Eemie's Victorian Buildings installed) and the map looked like it was wrong. But it was fine. I was confused.
Then I realized the Eemie mod had somehow uninstalled itself. I am not sure how that happened. But it's all fine now Whew!

I had the optional file in there (which was something about pretextname I don't understand it either?) and not the main file of the big furniture pack I had downloaded. And I had also deleted the file with the kotatsu.
I'm just going over what I can remember doing recently and undoing it.

Seems one of the chests contains a Dynamic Game Assets item, which crashes in DynamicGameAssets.Game.CustomBasicFurniture.getOne() when Automate tries to collect it. You'd probably have the same error when trying to take the item out yourself.
SpaceCore will remove the custom class if it no longer exists. It still exists in this case though, since DGA itself is still installed.
DGA does have code that is supposed to search the world and deal with items that are removed as well, I thought
