yes, we recommend stardrop over other mod managers because 1. stardrop was designed for sdv and 2. other mod managers are known to cause problems

#archived-modded-support message I am still trying to figure this one out with no luck and no response to my posts on Nexus on the mods I thought it might be from either. It doesn't affect gameplay but does mess with immersion.
I did the link to avoid reposting the whole thing, thought that would be better. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I have tried variations of config changes on the few recolour mods I have with no success so far. I really would love to get this fixed if possible. Try lookup anything data dump mode/looking at the tile for textures, maybe comparing between neighboring tiles

The water bowl is kinda special and so is the crib area

yeah there being only two always annoyed me (and is part of the reason why I made my Immersive Sandy mod lol) but neither of them are triggerable unless you're actually dating her unfortunately
the first is at 8 hearts, dating, enter her shop from like 3pm to 8pm
the second is at 10 hearts and she'll send you a letter asking you out to dance

Just noticed something very weird with Gus's Cookbook(will post on the mod's site when I'm next not in game). I bought the recipe it had but it also had chocolate for sale(the item not the recipe) and every time I exit the book and go back in there is another one for sale! I now have to scroll down to see all the chocolates for sale, lol.

Verifying the game files shouldn't be necessary, unless you're using xnb which you really shouldn't be. Mostly I'm just wondering why it's saying the farmer base just doesn't exist. Give me a moment.

Honestly, you just really shouldn't be using xnb files at all. They're meant to replace the original files in the game files, not just overwrite them via a mod.

Hi so, I have been having this problem for a while and only just got around to trying to deal with it. I have stardewvalley on pc, through the xbox app or whatever. And it used to work just fine when I tried to enable mods. But I can no longer do that.
As you can see the enable mods button is greyed out and I can't press it. Does anyone know how to fix it?

@dapper gazelle Hi, sorry to bother you again, but does the Sandy 2heart only trigger during the spring? I tried it in spring with my non main profile and it worked, but not my main one which is in winter 4th year 1.
bus/vault has to be complete and you have to have 2 hearts with both Sandy and Emily
it also needs to be sunny (can't remember if snow counts as sunny?) but it can be winter, that's no issue

So, I unistalled stardew and now it won't even let me reinstall it, its telling me the location isnt set up for installing hames despite me having multiple other games installed in that location, whenever I try and set a new location it doesn't do anything. I don't really know whats happening or how to fix it

Open the mod folder and edit the manifest.json
mod author probably just forgot to change the version
Smapi use it's database in https://smapi.io/mods. If you already installed the newest version and still ask to update, most likely version in manifest.json isn't updated

Well, I want to install the mod but I also want to know how to get the most advanced version of smapi for my mods.
I have an extended version of stardew valley but it asks me for the smapi version which is 3.10 but I can't apply it because it's an apk file and I don't know how to update it
And then some also ask me to have stardew valley 1.5 and I don't know how to get it out because it won't let me play from Steam on my mobile
Any that require 1.5 won't work on mobile; mobile version is still in... 1.4, I think?

there is a fish threshold, but you can manually adjust it. it's 1 by default

Your DaisyNiko tilesheets folder is missing the yellog-recolored version files, which is causing terrible problems later on down the line
It's not clear to me if this is because those files are in fact missing
if i put fish in there, it then looks like this, but it keeps this coloring no matter the fish i dump in

I've had Better Gemstones Animated and Animated Gemstones for a while now and just got Spritemaster, and I've noticed the geodes and stones and minerals and such are oddly... glitchy. Almost like they're flickering between their "normal" version and the resampled version?
Download it, just press that blue boxes and wait til the download prompt shows

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

It looks like its dropping a frame
It used to have issues if it saw duplicate frames - it would get the linked list confused. It might be a regression of that.
Maybe someone else that have tried sending log from android can help you. I don't play on my phone so i can't do much
SM tracks the previous sprite. If the same sprite is in multiple frames, it could cause the list to loop or inadvertently dereference a frame

Checked all the ones I could (the ones with inventory objects), and yeah, looks like the issue's hitting all of them, it's just less noticeable with ones with higher frames, like my animated junicrows it's almost invisible

Ok. Go to Android and read where the file location is. Then press choose a file, and your folders should open. Search the location of your log, tap it once and then press save and parse log

anybody know where my cellar went?? i made some changes in the mod menu and then it disappeared. i tried to set most of the mods back to default but it’s still gone.

idk if it is by default or not, but when i use vortex, it keeps the zip file i download somewhere (i use API install not manual). i poke around vortex setting so i have those zip fie when i migrate to use stardrop mod manager. if you can find those zip files, you can extract em to mods folder so you don't have to redownload all of mods you wanna use
if not, unfortunately you have to redownload and install all those mods that give you error message again
im gonna have to redownload everything because i just uninstalled everything from vortex

I believe he's been changed a bit so he doesn't show up for a day or two after his intro. At least, that's what my experience was.

Peach body recolours the base for no reason that I understand, since skin colour affects... skin colour. So the base sprite colour doesn't need to be changed at all. Makes trouble with other mods that didn't make the edit too, so maybe it's an incompatibility?

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

Garden Cellar is not only missing that, but it also has improperly labeled map layers for the two tbin files it does have, so Smapi still doesn't like it. And, as far as I'm aware as to how maps work so feel free to correct me, the assets folder is also missing the proper tilesheets ("paths.png' "spring outdoor.png" ect) to reference.
the assets folder actually doesn’t need those! any tilesheet used that is found under the maps folder will be auto detected. this is smart because it will make the map compatible with recolors without you having to do anything
it took me a while to realize it lmao. you do still need to put any tilesheets used outside of the maps folder in there tho, unfortunately 😔
Still though, Smapi does sound the alarm that the tbin map layers aren't ordered/labeled as expected so there is that.
I took a look at the mod author. Based on their other mod and comments, they seem to be newer to modding and feel shy/embarrassed about messing up, so be gentle with them if they come around.

I know you can list mod dependencies in the json, but, can you also Exclude content from a specific mod being utilized for that mod? I ask because I'm using Aedenthorn's Unique Valley, and I think it's using the Market Day random NPCS to mix into the Vanilla and dedicated Custom NPC randomization. I know that there is a config which allows you to put specific NPCS on a Forbidden List, but, Market Day has a LOT of names to go through..
please tell me it's a simple add on to the manifest json to exclude Market Day from being used for NPC randomizing.
it would be a hasmod is my guess, in the content.json

I tried to update all my mods and it now fails to load the mods
First of all, you copy smapi text to smapi.io/log, not the log text. Follow the instruction on that link to find the file
Second, do you use mod manager like vortex?
The text you use on smapi.io/log is SMAPI text (the window that run with the game, the black window thingy). You shoud use the file that the instruction said and press save and parse log

update tried installing devel, then complete got met with an error and code i had to run and got a different error
you probably don't need to install mono (that guide is old) but you likely do need to install openssl 1.x

So I uninstalled and reinstalled smapi and errorhandler came back (no idea how that went missing when I upgraded earlier) and still having the extreme lag. About 1 FPS. I going to keep testing, but removing it puts me back at 20+ minute load times so it'll be slooooow. I think it may just be the way the steamdeck architecture works causes spritemaster to not work? But that's a bit above my pay grade.

Hello everyone! After a long hiatus from the game I am now getting into it again. I am currently installing mods on my new PC and needs some help with a mod.
It is the Jade NPC mod. In the description it says that Jade can have two different places to live depending what is written in the config. However in the config it just says "default". Idk what home is the default one. Does someone have that mod and experience with it? Thanks in advance for any help.
If you have the boarding house mod installed she can live there. If you have juliet and jesse the joja clerks installed, she'll live with them.
Default will just default to whatever you have, but there is a priority system apparently: "default - Jade will use her default priority system (Juliet, then Boarding, then none)" (this can be found under the config spoiler on the description page)
I have both and would love to keep both. Jade should live in the Boarding House in my game. 😅

The Steam Deck has a custom iGPU that I'm not familiar with the performance characteristics of. I could probably find a way to benchmark and detect bottlenecks, but it'd be difficult to find the issue (that being said, is SM making it worse? Is resampling enabled?)
It made gameplay much worse. Wonderful load times, 1 fps trying to walk around. And I kind of figured it was an architecture issue.
I don't really know what settings in SM to fiddle with to see if I can get it working though.

If you're using GMCM it's easier, but try with resampling off

Resampling can hit hard, especially when the cache is still warming up
Though it shouldn't hit hard after that
So, either the resampling cache was still warming up (it resamples on demand) or for some reason resampling is really hard on your machine
iGPUs can be tricky because creating new textures on the fly can be quite slow
It seemed like it would warm up, after a minute or so an area would run like normal, but once I switched screens it would be back to the 1 fps until it did it again.

Well, new area would have new textures that need to load

Does anyone know what could cause an NPC to vanish? I have Kim Jyeul installed and I know she's working because her stand is by the community center and I used to see her walking around. But she seems to have vanished from the actual game. There aren't any errors in my log indicating her mod isn't working correctly. She's just...gone. Poof.
Miss Coriel has a bunch of mods on nexus, you'll have to go through them to figure out which one date night is asking for. Or it would be in the requirements dropdown on the date night page

the size is hardcoded, also does that map mod belong to you? you should delete the file if it doesnt

afaik there's nothing to be done about that. it's because the house is small compared to the amount of space it takes up on the tilesheet
but you can't make the tilesheet print it takes up smaller (or bigger, for that matter), it'll always take up the same amount regardless of texture
