you dont have mods that patches grass and other overworld stuff
however, canon friendly dialog expansion do have a lot to patch in dialogues

SVE always complains that it cant find [CP] sve and [STF] sve but the two of them are in my mods folder

You have the wrong version of both PyTK and Portraiture in there
Click this link: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Android#FAQs, then see the "How do I use mods that need Stardew Valley 1.5?" section. It explains how to figure out which version of a mod works on Android.
Definitely try the first options before resorting to the Script. That's a last resort.

Oh hey does anyone know if there's a way to speed up the stamina regen from Love Of Cooking's regen options? I love the 'health regen' setting (and as far as I know that's connected to stamina regen too) but even at next to 0 stamina, the regen is so slow it's almost useless

In general on Nexus it's SMAPI mods. However, most older mods are XNB ones as they predate content patcher
There should seriously be a warning ⚠️ on PPJA mods.. my 6 year farm has went to 💩 because i added the mods and it shuffled my save

And it looks like it's being updated. Yeah, though I can't personally tell you how good the mod is - I don't use it - I would advise Fishing Made Easy Suite as an alternative
If you 100% don't want any mini game or fishing challenge at all, fishing assistant works pretty well
If you want to just skip the minigame without any other changes I recommend https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2697
^ Fishing Made Easy doesn't have an eliminate mini-game option, so if you want that go with Nomori's option
Otherwise, Fishing Made easy does have a 99% easier setting
so I'm assuming it would be something like a gigantic bar or the fish don't move
I use it, the legendaries can still give quite a bit of a challenge. The bar and stuff is normal size but the fish don't move as much depending on the setting

I'm noticing some other errors in the log that could explain why that's happening - I'll see if I can fix it.
has anyone else ever had an issue with modded games with multiplayer the game skips straight past character creation
it laggs out not letting my friend select anything for character creation
Personally haven't heard of that, but I suppose there are several avenues to fix that if need be

I.ve been looking at that Big Farmhouse mod, and I was wondering if I could just "assign" each of multiple spouses to a room of their own where they would sleep at night , etc. (unless their rotation in my bed came up).
I feell that everyone crowding into MY bed is just a bit too much of a good thing 😄
not to mention pets as well. I know I could get the pet beds and assign them a sleeping spot, but I have to admit to feeling cozy with a cat snoozing on the end of the bed.
I mean several things to that
First, bed tweaks at least makes your bed big enough to hold all your spouses
Second, which big farmhouse one?
And third - I don't think there's an option to assign spouses to particular beds, but maybe in a future config update
we should prolly ask aeden on the other DC

What got me thinking (wistfully) about the assigned rooms, is the pet bed mod and the mod for assigning where Spouses will spawn. I am not savvy on this kind of code at all, but wouldn't something like the pet bed thing work for a spouse... only have a spose bed instead? 😄 Oh yeah, I've got the Bed Tweaks mod & use it, but still it seems rather crowded.
Not to mention that 2 of my favorite guys don't particularly get along & in no "realistic" scenario I can fathom, would the 2 of them climb cozily into the same bed

Does anyone know why my portrait for gunther keeps zooming in? I'm using portraiture and SVE (interactive gunther) - I've tried using "Patch for lunakatt's DCBurger Style Portraits for SVE" and replacing the vanilla file in SVE and then also tried adding it to portraiture. The portraits work with the standard dialogue, but not for expanded.

get glam is pretty old , try running the game without it
Customize Anywhere does kind of the same thing,, and Fashion Sense is the new answer to old Get Glam... problem with that is that there are just starting to pile up the content packs for it. It allows animated "thingies" like hairstyles and capes and halos and wings and whatnot

having difficulty with SMAPI. My laptop runs linux and this error pops up whenever i try to run whilst its installed
ive already searched the error and tried installing libssl-dev (im running ubuntu on the laptop)
There doesnt appear to be any further error logs.

i don't know if it has much relevance, but i'm on debian and smapi works without libssl-dev package installed
ill double check, what I could find on this error suggested it has historically been a result of .NET lagging behind a little on supported SSL version

so the version that ubuntu ships would be too recent? if so, i guess you could try downloading an older version and putting it in the game folder and hoping that the game uses it instead (putting some libraries that the game couldn't find in the system to the game folder has worked in the past)

hii!! i need help,, so ive been wanted to add a mod that would remove or at least empty out the spouse room (i use bigger farmhouse and wanted to give my spouse a bigger room too). i tried empty spouse room and also Customizable Empty Spouse Rooms, but neither worked :((
im running ridge side (and the npc is from there) and lnh farm(which replaces the standard farm)

if it's a custom npc then you actually have to edit the custom npc's spouse room

well depends on the npc really. like whether the spouse room is loaded via CP or TMX. If it's tmx sometimes you can basically just remove the tmx folder
otherwise you have to look for the line of code that loads the spouse room and delete it. (Please note if you edit a mod then you are responsible for any bugs and not the mod author)
How do I add Hot Spring Farm Cave to Waterfall Forest Farms specifically the large map?

I'm not sure which mod file to download, and how to install Hot Spring Farm Cave to work with Waffles due to conflicting information from HSFC's Description Page and some posts by users on the mod page.

And straight up ignore the step 3 on the mod page that says "Drop everything including two image files into the /asset folder of the farm map that contains its "FarmCave.tbin" file and replace it with my "FarmCave.tbin" file."

If that works, awesome, if not well I have this posted in here so I can do a quick search to find step three (won't have the nexus mod page open anymore after this) and swap out the waffles farm cave with hot spring.... if simply plopping into /mods and switching Waffle's farm cave to off doesn't work

Load both mods into your mod folder. Go into Waterfall config file and turn off farm cave. Then rename the [A_TK] - Farm Project - Waterfall Forest" to "ZZ[A_TK] - Farm Project - Waterfall Forest"

As you can see I changed farm maps to Grandpa Farm along with disabling a good number of my mods and still get the same results -- red square no matter where I try to place chest
(Holy actual hell, I had never seen how much PyTK patches!)
patches alot and wish it would be updated for 1.5.6
wonder if it is DGA since it deals with placement of occupied tiles
Looks like JA is the only thing that patches Object.canBePlacedHere, which would explain the red placement square, I believe.
Think I figured it out. Did not have range tools installed so I had to be right beside the placemnt area. But I also disabled DGA, so will have to try again when I enable it. But that will have to be in a little bit now. Thanks for your guys help.

waffle farm can have both the waffle cave and the "vanilla" cave as of the latest update. so can use cave mods on the "vanilla" farm cave. the main farm cave is where it usually is and the entrance for the waffle cave is the tent next to the farm entrance
waterfall forest farm map doesn't replace any of the vanilla maps so you can scroll down and select it - it is at the end of the map options when making a new save

let me look at the settings again to see what you need to have it toggled to, to see both... I'm not sure what the default is on a new save. I updated an existing save so I had to fiddle around with the options. you can also have 2 saves going at the same time, one with the smaller map, the other with the larger, without having to modify the settings every time you switch
select "no replacement" and if you want to keep the waffle cave, make sure this option is checked

for portraiture, do you make the specific folder for one style and then put all the relevant portrait mod folders in there and leave them alone otherwise or do you put them all in one folder or something
like the DC burger one, they have a specific few folders after extraction and the ones for SVE and RSV have their own folders too

Yes, most mods are on Nexus. Some are on Moddrop, and a small handful are on Github only.
I'm not sure if there's any on Curseforge that aren't broken and aren't available somewhere else.
There's also a huge community on Naver, which is a Korean website, but it's more difficult to get access to the website as it's also used for banking and such in Korea
I could use the smapi site to find mods cause they have a search tool you can use

Hello! I'm new to modding and I feel like I'm missing a step. I installed Smapi on mac. it did not generate a mod folder. I tried putting the mod files in that "sourcemod" folder and I tried making my own mod folder and neither works. the game is running through smapi but none of the mods are activated. (it says its running 3 mods but I think its all smapi and not the auto gate I'm trying to use) Any help is greatly appreciated ^^
My guess is - and I don't use Macs, so keep that in mind - since no mods folder was generated, SMAPI was likely installed in the wrong directory
In addition, under mods, you don't have any mods in that "folder", you have the files for AutoGate, which means AutoGate wouldn't even be recognized by SMAPI anyway - that stuff has to be in a folder within mods

SMAPI should automatically generate the correct directory for steam stuff - check that versus where it's being installed when the installer is booted
I'd also check to see where SMAPI currently installed itself - unless exe files are different on Mac, search for StardewModdingAPI

I asked Asterisk about that @scarlet quail but I never got a response so I've been using Tiled (like a mod author recommended I use to work with Mike to fix the issue with his room and sve not working well) to try and fix the entire Mando house situation and that is while using the modified mandalorian file provided by the East Scarp server according to a user on Mando's nexus page who was responding to some peeps who were having issues using Mando with BH, RSV, or both

I've been having all sorts of problems with the game freezing lately so I just did a clean uninstall/reinstall (after backing up my mods and saves), but now when I try to load any of my save files, the game just jumps back to the title screen. Anyone have any idea of what gives? 😖

If it's just a dialogue/portrait mod it would likely load

Keep a backup. Error handler will likely modify your file badly if you only load core mods
Although assuming you load the expansions, the modifications might not be too bad
why not just put all the mods back and if its a mod causing problemws see if it shows up on the smapi log and share it here?
But Error Handler is meant to modify files when things are removed - e.g. if a mod that adds an item is removed, the mod kills the item. Although I suppose that might cause a JSON shuffle... hmmm

Good question- that was the issue that ultimately drove me to try the reinstall- game would freeze up eerytime I went to the bus-stop map, even though it was fine going anyplace else.
you can try to narrow it down to mods that change the bus stop in some way then, narrowing mods down by their function is helpful for this kind of troubleschooting
besides SVE what other big mods you have?
Ridgeside and East Scarp are the biggest ones

to counter it I'd install Spritemaster and then turn resampling off

I heard sprite master gets a little unstable with long term gameplay (Ie year 6+)
or with a heavy mod load, but that's just the heavy mod load.... that's like... stacking balls on top of each other of different shapes and sizes and using duck tape just to keep it in place

Sakurai I think you have some of these so just want to check it's a SMAPI thing and not an actual way out of date mod
There are a couple that I know are out of date but haen't been able to find the newest ersions (or get the game to recognize the newest ersions- ie Walk of Life)
A couple that were updated in the last few days that I'm getting updated now
i read that DSV is pretty intensive if its the full/deluxe version, its also possible the ridgeside part of it might be lagging the busstop but i'm not sure off hand tbh
also potentially if something is too out of date it could be part of the problem because it wouldn't know how to work with newer code well

You could be right- I took out DS, Ridgeside and East Scarp and it loaded much faster, and no issues going in and out of the bus-stop map.
Next test- adding Ridgeside back in by itself to see what happens.

I can't get my camels to show.... there's nothing in the files that indicate a level or experience gate, and my one other BFAV mod (racoons) shows up at Marnies just fine. How can I get my camels into the game? I guess I could just use the camel skins in Adopt & Skin in place of white cows (never much cared for white cows) but they would still give cow type produce, & make cow sounds
I didn't post a log because the log has nothing to say in re camels other than simply reading & inserting it blamelessly into an apparently viable spot
ok so my a&s mod keeps giving me the coordinates where the horses should be but they arent there-
i've changed those in the portrait folders, and they show up fine when interacting with him normally, but when i go behind the desk it reverts back to the old vanilla pics. So i uploaded them to my portraiture file.
this keeps happening as BFAV is still broken (all my warthogs kept turning into white cows even though it showed as a warthog in marnies and started off as a baby). I don't believe the unofficial patch is working either for BFAV.

I'm afraid SVE is like that... I remember I wanted to run a mod that gave Marlon a role for himself & it was just no way I could make the 2 mods work together. Even tho at that time Marlon was practically a no-show in SVE

and then added it into portraiture - it's in the SVE file fine and works normally, but some dialogue turns zoomed in.
I like that style... I use a lot of Orange Pie's stuff. I believe I even have that same mod myself.
that sounds like you might have to adjust the size of the portraits yourself for SVE encounters if Portraiture is not working for you
If by DS, you mean DSV, there's no way that DSV could be causing freezes on the bus stop map. It doesn't affect anything there
You should also remove the all-in-one version as it's outdated and discontinued and the DSV for RSV pack, as it's been incorporated into the new modular packs instead

It's not that hard... just look at the resolution of the other portraits used in SVE, and then pull the ones you want used for Gunther into any decent editor and resize them to what the SVE ones are. Return fixed portraits to SVE folders & all should be hunky dory & Tickety Poo

I'm having trouble with modding my game. I did it through Nexus and Vortex.
Whenever I start up the game, it runs perfectly fine. All my saves are there, I can start new saves, nothing's buggy or slow, etc. The only thing is, my mods just don't work. I'm 99% sure it's just vanilla SV. I checked the mod folders and all of the mod folders are there and all of them have the files they need. I triple checked I downloaded the SMAPI (I did.) I tried verifying the game files, I tried redeploying through Vortex, but nothing works. I've tried pretty much everything on the wiki and whatever I could find online, but I got nothing.

Pump only works outdoors, did you put yours inside?
It starts on its own, but takes time to produce (automate is helpful here)

hello! i'm trying to download expanded through moddrop and having some trouble. there are 3 mods needed before downloading the pack: 1) expanded preconditions utility, 2) extra map layers, and 3) SAAT. while i have all of them installed, only the first one is marked off the checklist when i got to install the pack. i followed the same process for each. please help? 🥹

I'm not running Ridgeside Village right now, but it probly got obliterated too
Sticking that Mandalorian House into that convergence would take major map surgery
unless you could maybe substitute the last bus stop map for this one

It straight up fits… you just have to trim the side of the cliff. It’s like what 1-2 tiles?

They do have characters warping into that space
I don't think the problem is really the cliff, but all the paths and warp points, etc underneath
I think BH & RSV have a compat patchup of the Bust stop... at least they used to. I'v been away from the game for a while
and b4 this last update, SVE had a compat map with Boarding House. It's always the same underlying vanilla map that gets tweaked. so if you get a version of BH & RSV being happy neighbors, you could copy in the SVE data as far as warp points, etc.

So, I hatched a baby dinosaur, and every time I enter the coop, the naming screen pulls up but I cannot progress beyond that point. Any ideas??
I was using Spritemaster the other day, and suddenly I got a craving for Ice Cream. I think SM somehow is the reason for that.

Okay my boyfriend tried it. He can get the errors, but the problem is it's not crashing the game, it's just that the mod isn't working. So we're not sure what we're suppose to be looking for or what to do with this information.
Hi guys, I’m very new to modding stardew. Smapi will load up my game just fine, but I noticed it takes much longer to do so, if and when it does work. When it does and I click load game, I get stuck on a loading screen and then the game crashes. I did download a new mod earlier today, but when this happened I deleted that mod right away and it’s still happening. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is that the log you get after the game crashes?
Based on the log itself it looks like you only got to the title screen, which is why I ask
Basically. It will let me click on my saved game and then it freezes on the black loading screen

Hmmmm. Your trace log doesn't tell me anything specifically, although I'd defer to someone who knows more about that portion of it. What mod did you download and then delete?
It was Elle's New Barn animals from nexus mods
The game ran fine before I downloaded that mod, which is why I thought deleting it would solve the problem
Right and Error Handler should have dealt with the mod being missing fairly easily. Might be some weird error with the normal files I guess unless someone else sees something in the trace I don't, so have you verified the Stardew files to see if something got erased that shouldn't have?
I verified the files in steam and they all were verified. No error message popped up or anything like that

To recreate the test and see if the slow load up is just for already existing saved games, or pre-existing saves and new games
I suppose that's also a good question. We don't want to throw away your old file, but hitting new and starting a new game might at least give us a clue to what's going wrong in a new SMAPI log. If it boots up correctly, then it may be possible the save got corrupted and you'd have to check that out in your files
I haven't tried that yet. I'll give it a shot now
Thankfully SMAPI makes backups often plus the usual vanilla one-day backup, so if it is just a save error you'll likely be fine

Not sure of the exact method of how to see if a file is corrupted, I just know the indirect method - change the current files to "_old1", change the "_old" files to not have that _old in them, and boot that way
If it recognizes the old save and doesn't crash to desktop, then the original files got corrupted and the game's attempts to read them causes a crash
Yeah, well sometimes it does that, but other times windows will say SMAPi stopped responding and I can either click close the program or wait. I've tried clicking wait, but it just whites out the screen and does nothing

Okay. One last thing before you reinstall - can you run Stardew Vanilla?
no, I tried that as well, and instead of getting stuck on the loading screen, I click my save game and it keeps taking me back to the startup screen
This is mainly so that I can differentiate if it's the game or SMAPI. Vanilla should recognize your files if they're not corrupted, it just won't be able to load the modded version
Oh. Yeah no you can't load a modded game in vanilla
so try a new game in vanilla?
But that tells you your saves are fine and more importantly your Stardew Install is probably fine - try a new game in vanilla and it should work
meaning the problem would lie with SMAPI and your current mods, and you should only perhaps reinstall those
Do a entire reinstall. Delete all file, reinstall your game. Do a fresh launch, close it, and install smapi.. launch SDV, Close it, install your mods.
And do fresh downloads too

hello guys, so i finished the story by joja on Expanded, made all the community improvements and saw the final scene of morris in joja's warehouse, but i'm not able to advance the story, for example meet the new npcs, the new area from the desert the Apples anyway, I can only continue the story through the community center?
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question
I'm no expert in the Joja storyline, but I'm also pretty sure in Expanded that stuff is unlocked via Joja quests post-completion cutscene
I'd check the Expanded wiki to figure out the exact trigger events for each
Apples though you're locked out of - you didn't complete the Community Center so they won't appear.

Hi All...i have the More Trees Mod...i love it...however, i just updated SMAPI and CP and now all my jellies that i have been storing up have changed...ie...Durian Jelly has now changed to Durian Sapling Jelly....is this going to be fixed?

A Json Shuffle is when your Json Assets items rearrange their numerical IDs or different players have different numerical IDs assigned to the same object. See here for details: https://stardewmodding.miraheze.org/wiki/Json_Shuffle.
Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

Usually it only happens when you add or delete a JA mod. Smapi and CP shouldn't have caused that

That being said what you've described is basically textbook Json shuffle
I would very much assume you added a mod, deleted a mod, or updated one recently that caused it

For example, Ridgeside Village does not have JA in front of it, but a subfolder within it does
So if you download Ridgeside Village, unless you go into the folder you extract, it'll have Json assets within it, so shrug Ridgeside's stuff should be good about avoiding shuffle but not all mods are

As for yours, southern, little hard to troubleshoot. You say it's not empty, but what is inside it? if SMAPI isn't reading the files inside it, the files within aren't config/manifest.json files. Did you extract the zip files?
If you can, send us a screenshot of your mod folder
Quick question: Is there a way to "hide" a folder from SMAPI? Like, there's a way to make SMAPI don't look inside a folder for mods?
