Does anyone know how to put custom hair into the game? I am still new to adding mods like custom stuff. I only understand how to put gameplay mods into the game

I'd like to use a few mods on the Android version of the game. Usually I play on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7, running with the latest Android release for that device.
Is my device able to handle mods, specifically custom map mods?
Hello! So I'm doing some troubleshooting before I get my friends to spend time on playing modded multiplayer, and SMAPI seems to be sending this error over and over with Adopt n' Skin constantly (error and logs below) I suppose I should ping @river rapids as well just in case. Everything is up to date except for some texture mods
HI All...is anyone running into the "glitch" with the Ridgeside Village Mod update that the bulletin board to the right of the "town hall" entrance is blank, but has the ! as if there is a quest there?

Do you know which NPC has a birthday the next day, by any chance?
And do you have a statue of fortune?
Once you identify which NPC it is, you can either edit the mod to give them a non-broken gift taste or remove the mod
It's definitely whoever has a birthday the next day based on the stack trace
It's pretty easy to give them a better gift taste
All you have to do is edit the NPCDispositions entry for them to have some normal item as the first loved gift

Weird. Nobody had a birthday the next day. I removed the statues of fortune though. That night we had a baby girl. Everything worked and it saved. Weird.

Hiya, I'm having an issue with multiplayer on 3.15.1
I have no mods installed, and my partner has the same.
I can join their LAN game if they run Stardew unmodded, but when they host a LAN game with Stawdew with SMAPI, it just wont see the game and gives "Connection Failed"
If their game is not modded and mine is, i'll be able to join the game from there, but the host can't be running modded if I want to join
I currently have our computers connected through a personal vpn hosted in the cloud
I've done everything that the troubleshooting guide says about multiplayer
Forgot to mention we're both in offline mode in steam

how abt u save the mods in a diff folder and delete the ones and try it?
because theyve ran that save with code changing/map changing mods so it would break more

well take this time to organize your mod folder. as unorganization and messiness in mods can easily make more corruption

Mobile afaik is still in 1.4 so I believe you need mod versions released before December 2020(?)

@chilly swallow I dont know for sure cos object reference errors are an absolute pain, but it might be trying to warp a character to a map that doesnt exist? Possibly one with a 0 schedule? Maybe try disabling a few mods and see if that helps. Possibly RSV cos that updated recently and this may have unfound bugs

Hello ! I'm new and I have a problem with my modgame. I'm supposed to be married tomorrow with Ian ( a ridgeside's character) but when I try to sleep, my game is blocked with a black screen. I have a lot of mods but it was never like that. I had reload every mods again with a new Version but it's still the same result... I don't know where is the problem. Is someone can help me please ?

Hii guys ive downloaded every mod required for ridgeside and also smapi into vortex but the main mod itself cant be downloaded into vortex. How do i put it in vortex from its downloaded form? Ive been struggling all day, thanks:)

Yeah, unfortunately as tedious as manually installing is, it's generally your best bet if you don't want any weirdness. Vortex caused all sorts of issues for me when I tried to use it.

I recently installed the RSV mods and started a new save file for it, but im not sure when the RSV part comes in? or if its working at all. The game feels normal to me (im also using SVE)
it should be there from the beginning. in fact as soon as you walk to the bus stop you should have a cutscene with RSV's mayor and there should be a path to RSV to the north of the bus stop. if there isn't it didn't install properly

No. Everything's public and type-erased. To be compatible I'd end up writing largely the same thing.

I'm running the last version of smapi because the newest version gives me messages that say all the latest versions of mods are deprecated

with the deprecated warnings also though it wouldn't load anything
That shouldn't be a direct consequence of the warnings

Did you make sure your launch options are set if you're running via steam?

yeah launch options are set, I open it with steam and it runs smapi, the game opens, but there are no mod options on the main menu

yeah, it just opens vanilla basically
Install that, see if 1) the menu is there 2) the CJB stuff appears in the menu
it is there at least, but the cjb stuff is not in the menu

I checked, CJB doesn't look like it actually uses the GMCM. But, the other mods are appearing there.
(Not all mods use this menu.)

so there error showed something with time not being set properly, I did debug time 2110, I got an empty (black) screen and it seems it is now completely crashing

What I did:
I was in desert, then wanted to warp to sewers. It sort of behaved oddly, it lagged a bit and I did not see the green "square" light up, then it started hanging a bit. I did f5 again to open the menu, this worked. I was apparently in the sewers. Then I warped to town, I shared the screenshot and it kinda all went to shit.
It could be that the desert part is fkn it up. Whenever I tp to the desert and the road is even mildly in view, I get the animations of arriving by bus in the desert. This also happens sometimes when I open the tp screen whilst in the desert.

If I then warp all the way to the top to the entrance of SC I don't get the bus scene again then
I can circumvent it a bit by when the desert map pops up, immediately move to the top so it won't show the road
Ahh, so the act of observing the map causes the animation? Okay, yeah, that might cause things to go very screwy... and I can't think of a way around that other than either figuring out exactly how it screws up so I can work around it, or just blacklisting the desert...

Yeah, I found that. It fixed the portraits, but the sprites are still the ones from Cuter Characters.
I think it might be b/c the Pam mod uses Load instead of EditImage but I'm not 100% sure.
(it also doesn't seem to have quite as many sprites as it should so even if you can get it to work you might run into problems down the road)

So I was messing around with Custom Gift dialogues and found out that you can put < 3into the dialogue, and it will show up as pink heart emoji... but still having the number 3 shown. like so π3... Is there a way to make use of the emoji without the 3 getting in the way?

What is "the save editor"?
I'm having an issue where a mod-added recipe JA (from a mod I created and have been working on) refuses to show up no matter what I do. The actual item exists in the game and is purchasable so I know the mod and that folder are loading correctly, but the recipe to create the item is not showing up either in my known recipes or available for purchase.
I'm thinking it might have been deleted and then restored and now I can't get it back? I've heard about issues where deleting a JA mod mid-game will screw up perfection because even if you re-install the mod, you can't get the recipes back, but the game still requires them for perfection. I don't care about perfection on this save but it's annoying me that I can't cook something I need for a lot of other recipes. just wanna try removing it from the save entirely and see if that works
but I have no idea what people mean when they mention using the save editor
(is there any other reason a mod recipe might not be showing up? I tried making it default, I tried making it purchaseable, I tried literally copying a recipe json that is currently purchaseable and changing nothing but the name, and it still will not show up, so I can't think of why else besides I fucked it up while adding/deleting recipes from my own mod)

not every mod is android compatible, but I don't think sdv changes the format of tilesheets with updates. You might get some "warnings" from content patcher saying it couldn't apply or load certain tilesheets but overall, just test out the mod and see if it works

I'm on Immersive Farm 2 Remastered and grass is not spreading. It isn't animals causing it.
It spread during Spring/Summer/Fall Y1 but I am now in Y2 and the issue started ever since the 2nd Spring.
It is placed on tillable tiles all over the farm, spreads nowhere.
No obvious errors and no mods have added/updated inbetween Spring year 1 and Spring year 2.

Nicole i also had this problem. I had to install a ui mod to zoom it back in to normal becuase my ui was so big that it didn't fit the screen.

the missing counter's been a long running issue

i use steam to launch so how would launch the game in different ways, ie vanilla./modded?
so, the SMAPI installer (at least Windows one) tells you to modify the Stardew Valley entry on Steam to make it launch the modded game
but if you want to play both vanilla and modded, i suggest to do something else
i'd leave the Stardew entry as-is, and instead, in Steam, add a non-Steam game
and tell it to launch StardewModdingAPI.exe

You are just deleting the mods you've previously added. Idk why it should harm the game.

You need to find the Unix executable file StardewValley in your game folder
And launch that instead of the game via steam
If you want to play via steam without mods just uninstall SMAPI
Same way as installing it but pick uninstall
ah thank you ! i think i figured out a work around for that earlier by just duplicating my stardew files and leaving the vanilla ones linked to the steam opener and making a shortcut for the modded vers

I was fishing in the forest when I wanted to TP to CC. When I pressed f5, it showed the Leah 6 hearts event (plucking a fruit from the big tree). When I TP'ed to town because I wanted to trigger the cutscene, it did not let me at first. When I tried again it let me (I TPed to the bottom left, next to the entrance to the forest.
When I entered the forest no cutscene triggered, and it put me on the spot where I originally TPed from (under the lake) even though I walked into the forest and not TPed there.

Hello, since 1 or 2 months my friend and I can't play in multiplayer. He is the host, and when we play after few times my game freeze on a loading screen (when i change zones). My Smapi log shows that. I tried to play with 2 different computers but the same thing happen. We would be really grateful if someone can help us π

Alright, so I have a bit of a complex problem that may or may not have a simple solution. Short version: Martin and Claire are missing from the movie theater entirely. Long version: Movie theater wasn't unlocked, was noclipping to the front of empty JojaMart and got the intro to Movie theater cutscene somehow, then appeared in an empty locale, and was able to watch "It Howls in the Rain" (which wasn't even the movie for this year, mind you - that's Mysterium). Left, entered, made the movie theater (i.e. completed abandoned Joja bundle), saved, left it alone for a few days, went back to watch Mysterium with Abigail and... there's still no NPCs in the theater. It's slightly unnerving, even if things still work. Is there any way to refresh the NPCs or am I going to have the spooky movie theater the rest of the time?

so to make sure i'm understanding this correctly:
after completeing the cc, you noclipped into the empty jojamart, and rather than finding the thing with the secret bundle, you got the movie theather intro cutscene and were able to watch a movie that wasn't supposed to be playing at all even if the movie theater was unlocked. Then you completed the movie theater, left it alone for a few days and then went to go see a movie, but the theater is still empty? i'm assuming like it was when you no-clipped into it?

I also tested something really fast - I noclipped again at the completed movie theater and managed to get back in after I'd already watched with Abigail, alone again, and could watch the movie again afterwards
there seems to be some sort of map transition point within the movie theater building that caused it

alright. i'll bet that somehow the noclipping made things get confused somehow. let me look into some console commands that might be able to help. in the meantime maybe try running patch summary in your smapi console and reupload your log? not sure how much that'd help but it couldn't hurt

Sve adds a secret entrance way for the NPCs to access it. Thatll be how you got in there.
