You probably have a mod mismatch
An error in netfields like that is almost always due to a mod mismatch
so how do i fix it
Check your friend's mod list against yours
Make sure each of you have the same mods and same config, I believe
Fix any differences

There's a list of global vs. local 'types' on wiki - I believe if it's a global mod then any mismatch causes a failure

frog -- did you wait for it to load up completely? having SVE and RSV will make your game take a hell of a long time to load, solely bc of how huge the mods are
its not that its wrong, i just want to remove it but i have 300+ mods and i think it may be a korean name

bc based on the log, it got cut off while it was loading stuff
if you do patchsummary in the smapi console, theeeeere's a way (i think) to see what gets changed

It does for me, spritemaster is the singular strong pillar that let me play with SVE RSV ES
nah, sve is the one thatll still make it 20+ minutes
because of how shoddily sve is put together (by literal duct tape), it is what's making the load time shoot up exponentially. rsv loads quickly
so you're just SOL either way i'm sorry to say 😭
so why doesnt the SVE creator fix it? make it not shoddy and stuff

so basically when an expansion (or any mod really) switches from TMX to CP the map names HAVE to change. CP uses Custom_[map name]. So basically the fix is to change every instance of the TMX boarding house map names to the newer CP names... which are generally Custom_blah blah

not impossible, I have changed the spawn (in dispositions) and schedule of an NPC. But you do have to change both. If you feel comfortable doing that I say have at it. otherwise you may have to abandon 😦

hello i been having trouble with smapi, it won't even launch even after deleting the mod folder and reinstalling it, and i can't get a new log either
I mean without BH he does Spawn in his boat, and by default he spawns there... the main mod folder does come with two folders one labeled Boarding House the other is Boat House, unfortunately both are TMX
ah sorry I was looking at just the SVE-only ones. lemme check the other one

And while I was following the instruction on Zoro... he was not spawning or showing up on CBJ's Cheat Menu or the Map (I do have the NPC and Custom NPC locator)
So... by having him set to default and deleting the BoardingHouse File he did spawn again

ok so these are the three folders I extracted: [CCCB] Challenging PPJA SVE Bundles, [CCCB] Challenging Pure Vanilla Bundles, ChallengingCommunityCenterBundles. Technically Pure Vanilla is there as a safeguard but just to confirm: do you have all three in your Mods folder?
yellow warnings usually aren't as bad as errors fwiw
but b/c it's...cc bundles I would be extra cautious so I get it

it may be that you need to then delete like... the info related to BH. Most likely what's happening is in the code is saying something akin to "spawn here if BH is installed"

.....so I found out what happened. In a genius (read: idiotic) move on my part, I had placed a piece of furniture in my "bathroom" area, which got shuffled into the southern renovation after the upgrade. Turns out the middle of a skeleton got stuck in the wall XD

Hey I really need help I have child to NPC, child age up, Stardew valley and all it requires, Skull cavern Elevator mod, and look up anything mod. Recently like started 3 days ago but none of the mods have updated and I haven't added any new ones. Every time it rains if I do not go to bed by 9pm that day as soon as I I transition from one screen to another it kind of freezes, basically my character still moves but the screen does not I cannot open the menu and if I wait till I pass out it gets stuck on a black screen. I have no clue how to post the error log since it doesn't appear as an error other then smapi going all red letters on me and it will not allow me to try and copy what it says since I have to just ctrl+alt+del to close the game which closes smapi as well.
Oh no wait, I'm wrong. Brimini is talking about a DIFFERENT file that moves Mike into Stardew Valley by living in Gus's Saloon. If using BH, you're not supposed to use that file that adds Mike to Gus's Saloon. (Which I don't have)

Hello I'm having difficulties with my save file.
texture sprites for my child and certain craftables are missing. My child is also growing up to the first toddler stage but for some reason the game won't save or progress to the next day.
My baby sprites doesn't ever show up and I can't interact with them.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled/restarted my computer/verified game files and I can't get the missing baby character or the sprites for the craftables to work.
i've tried replacing the crafables.xnb but that doesn't work either, i feel as if though I've exhausted every method to make the game work but it doesn't click.
Ugh for the mods I'm using it's starting to seem like it would be better if I wasn't using Boarding House.... AND AFTER ALL THAT WORK WITH JADE
There doesn't seem to be a point for BH anymore now that Content Patcher is a thing

I don't see how content patcher being a thing excludes Boarding House
you need to share a log too - follow the instructions above. Also don't install Child to NPC until you have two toddler stage kids is my recommendation

okay, I think t he only thing modified is the internal house maps
(however, pre Error handler handling it, I'm pretty sure BH didn't do anything special to stop removing NPCs breaking your save file)

Boarding House was primarily designed so one-off NPCs would have a home since everyone was just spawning at hte bus stop
sadly, most NPCs that live there immediately leave every morning, rendering the house itself basically moot
(I added code so Sorren at least gets himself a coffee and hangs out with Shiko for a bit)

lol, my NPC KAtaryna drinks coffee in Scarp Inn for like 30 minutes every morning

well it looks like it's trying to load kid1's sprites twice, which means they won't load at all, which means the character doesn't exist which is crashing the game, so maybe just uninstall child to npc until both kids are toddlers and qualify as NPCs.

Okay, extract the zip file that you downloaded which has the smapi
'Child Age Up' has multiple patches which load the 'Characters/Magna' asset at the same time (Child Age Up > FirstChild Characters Normally Auto NoApron #2, Child Age Up > SecondChild Characters Auto Apron #2). None will be applied. You should report this to the content pack author. Should be editing both kids but is just trying to do the one
let's extract it into a folder on your desktop so this is easy

in the folder you unzipped there should be four files. one Readme.txt file. The other three should say Install, one says Install in Windows.bat, the other say install on macOS.command, and the last one says install on Linux.sh

When you're done running that program... you should know that you'll have to LAUNCH the file called StardewValleyModdingAPI .... we can set it up so that you can launch that file through stream instead of the unmodded stardew valley program

there appears to be a big issue with custom NPCs sharing a name with the farmer's kids
In the steam clinet, right click on Stardew Valley, choose properties. in general, scroll down to see launch options.... replace anything that is in there with the thing you copied from the smapi. For most people it should read something like "C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\stardew valley\stardewmoddingapi.exe" %command%
this could be avoided if SVE called all their minor bit player NPCs names like: GaleSVE

(maybe make a back-up copy first, or you can use the previous day's save).

then you need to search that file for the name "Gale". Your kids one ight have a space after it ("Gale ") this is how the game is supposed to stop this happening. DOesnt' seem to work with CUstom NPCs though
I wanted to change the name anyway to something else to match the wizard romance mod i have
so i don't mind not having them named Gale anymore
it's gonna be slightly challenging cos the actual NPC Gale might be in your files too

You're done. You can start downloading Mods @lunar pewter MAKE SURE you read the instructions the Mod Creators have written up on how to properly install their mods (it's the same old unzip them into the Stardrew Valley Mod folder. To find that just go to this pc, click program files x86, steam, steam apps, common, stardew valley. The very first folder should say Content, the very next one should say Mods)
BUT AGAIN READ the creator's instructions first and foremost
the other will look like this and may be harder to discern from the antisocial NPC Gale: <item><key><string>William</string></key> Hopefully it will have a space after the name though. If there is one with a space and one without a space, the one withthe space is your child.

The SVE folder you downloaded contains this, you only placed the Stardew Valley Expanded one on the bottom, now you also need to extract the others too
what are those? how do I extract them? I extracted all the mods I installed
This is the file you download, you probably mistaken the Stardew Valley Expanded folder as the whole to the one you extract
the zip file should have only one folder, drag it out to the mods folder

The last two people with pet SVE NPC issues that I saw, I think had to give up
Although one gave up quite fast (Olivia), the other tried very very hard (Peaches)
I wasn't able to help them, and I did look through their save for them carefully and it looked fine
They tried to change the name and it just didn't seem to take, same as you
No idea if this is specific to SVE, but I've only seen it with SVE names
Might be because SVE is so popular, might be because SVE doesn't namespace
I think that's probably because SVE has so many random tiny NPCs that no one knows exists
Well, I mean it's definitely that (SVE doesn't namespace), but other mods might namespace more/better
I mean, very few of my mods have namespaces cos it never used to be a thing, but you kinda know the names of the main characters

@wet fog sorry for the ping out of the blue, but we were just talking about the Peaches issue. I’ve just realized that if you rename Peaches the junimo in your SVE content file, that might solve the issue. You’d have to be careful to make this change again if you ever update SVE, as a downside.

Hi, since adding separate mod loadouts, my gaming laptop's fan is always on fairly loudly all the time (including when not playing the game and no applications open).
I have cleaned the fans recently and bought a laptop cooling pad but the fan is still fairly loud.
have you checked task manager or resmon if there are apps utilizing the fan?

Hey all. Found an issue with DGA, not sure if anybody can help though. It's a silent issue, so SMAPI doesn't even log it, but apparently if you try to reskin a DGA weapon with the Volcano Forge... well, you can't. The game says it's an incorrect input if you try. I find it weird because I had no issues with this and JA.

i have DGA issues as well. i dunno if this is a DGA related concern or the mod. but most DGA mods i had, i have to uninstall. always making problems

Hello! I use Better Chests, which I overall love, except I don't like its color picker feature. Having an infinite spectrum of colors is not my jam, I'd much rather have a limited and aesthetically pleasing palette.
Is there a way to turn that feature off? I don't see it in the config file for BC.

you can delete all mods
but your save file used from those mods, will not have changes, and may cause crashing because of mods used by that save
better make a new save
If you remove them and you load into your save. If and when you crash, you probably removed it. Success.. not guaranteed.

Earthy Recolor seems to be the only Content mod you installed, the rest are frameworks.
There all the mods listed for SDVE
You may have the frameworks, but you don't have SVE itself.

You can toggle it off. 
Though strange enough I haven't had the need to do that whenever I update Ui2, maybe it's automatic now?

ive downloaded the newest ver of BH too

If Denver was included (bundled) as a part of BH in the old version, and the new version has the same files but no Denver code, then you would get Denver removed no matter what.

Thus why I thought it might be related to Boarding House
If it's a standalone, I don't know why the files would be gone/moved, SMAPI doesn't do that

Not quite sure what's causing this but talking to Mia, at least on the first day on my lil test farmer, has the dialogue box instantly close and her face shows up on the calendar for her birthday for like a frame before being replaced with nothing. Any known issues I can check my mods for?
I answered in #modded-stardew as well but it's working as intended 
It's intended to have her be unable to be spoken to?
also sometimes dialogue bugs out, can try and see if it happens the next day as well.
The dialogue box thing seems like a common issue, I've had it happen to me as well. Nothing game breaking so it's safe to ignore.

The thing is, ive been re-downloading all the mods i can find on nexus/naver/moddrop so i can get a new manifest.json for them but some of my mods are rather old, and some authors have deleted the og mod, so.. i know this isn't very nice to ask but, if someone that is willing to help/has some of these mods could you please maybe share only the manifest.json file? i would be really really grateful for this.

if you do use vortex or something, it maybe could’ve eaten your files (in which case i recommend manually installing everything)
nope, i download all my stuff manually, and i know how weird this is..i considered it was a problem with ASC but i did a full search on my deleted files and non of them were manifest.json
and since i havent really played with mods since june im left in the dark

... "Papaya.ShikoTakahashi" is likely the mod's ID. If you're seeing it in an SMAPI error, it means you need to install the mod, which I linked.

Jesus, I thought having all of my Stf content.jsons turning wonky was bad.
You can do it the long way or the extra long long way. Long way is, obviously, redownloading all the mods. Long 2x way is you just copy paste the same manifest but changing it ever so slightly for the ones you can't redownload.
I'm pretty sure those are normal game files. In any case, don't delete them. Are you trying to uninstall SMAPI?

After your reset, you may want to uninstall/reinstall SMAPI. Download the installer again (any version would work to uninstall IIRC).

so i played on a modded world fine. then i made a new one. but in this one after i die the game just black screens. i reinstalled the newest SMAPI, removed all mods. and tried but it still errors out. the old saves doesnt have this problem. just the newer one

what do to if the crafting recipe is shuffled?
have just downloaded and installed sve and grandpa's farm, mods seem to be running ok but am having a lot of lag issues, i had this with base game as well even tho i have 2015 predator helios 300 gaming laptop, switching to compatibility mode on base game helped but don't know what to do to fix with mods installed, any help please?

repro steps: accidentaly deleted stardew valley folder, so I restore it from the bin. I updated the smapi to the latest version but it seems it don't work with my current version, so I install the smapi version that is compatible with my version and this happen after I try opening it.

I think it should be fine? Usually when items gets shuffled it affects existing items, not any new ones you make
is it a machine loaded as a JA object? what mod was this again

3 of the machines are mixed with another crafting item from another JA mod
derp. Sounds like they're incompatible then, and you might need to do a bit of editing to get them to work together. Try removing the other mod and see if you can craft it when that mod is uninstalled
If you can then it sounds like the two mods might be trying to load objects with the same name or something
your SMAPI log will probably tell you more
a small update, downloaded profiler, not sure how to use it, tried reloading the game without the use of my controller, now using mouse and keyboard and having no issues, not sure if that would make difference but game is running smoothly
every night i get this pop-up to choose a profession, and i have already chosen it a while back- does anybody have any ideas as to what is causing this? and why?

Anyway I launched the game, went through the intro... and after loading up to being able to play i saw in the smapi log, in red text sating "Ridgside Valley smapi command failed parsing quest." how do i fix that?
man, this chest not hiding things is an issue for me rn, becuase before I updates from 3 weeks ago, It was hiding things, while the current better chests version isn;t capable of doing that for some reason!
Can you join the Ridgeside Valley discord? I don't think many people here will know what the smapi component of it does, and it will be a lot easier for the people who made it to help you

delete the old sve folder and put in the new one yeah. If you changed anything in the config you should keep that

You can let them know on Nexus. And you can keep them installed. That overlapping isn't game-breaking really
but it is annoying
Playing RSV, every object I interact with gives this weird "String\StringsFromMaps:rsv.(something)"
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
I also have autograbber redux. the last version of better chests that doesn't have the overlapping is 2.3.1

it doesn't completely hide the other items but it does bring what you're looking for to the top row

Have you noticed if it changes the icon for Pumpkin Seeds (the ones you plant in fall) to the artisan good icon for Pumpkin Seeds the food item?
and also removal of the liqueurs that conflict with flower liqueurs mod.

I just checked the raffadax spreadsheet and it appears that the seed packet can be placed in machines
maybe that's why? to signify that it has more utility than just to plant?
Oh that is a scary glitch. Hello again... I am having trouble with content patcher. It keeps giving me this error:
ERROR Content Patcher Can't apply image patch "Medieval_buildings > Slime Hutch" to Buildings/Slime Hutch: target area (X:0, Y:0, Width:176, Height:144) extends past the right edge of the image (Width:111), which isn't allowed. Patches can only extend the tilesheet downwards.
