hello i have a problem with modded everytime i finish the character creation and try to start a farm i get stuck with a screen like this and a huge block of red text in smapi

usually those kind of errors mean a corrupt game installation
so a reinstall i guess, however you do that on the xbox app
i tried verifying the game but i can try a reinstall if that does anything different
i got rid of few more mods, that im not using much and can cause game to load slower, and im trying again :/

guys can anyone suggest to do to make SMAPI/SDV load faster when loading/saving
removing pytk (and by consequence anything that depends on it) can have a noticeable effect, as well as having the latest smapi and the latest versions of framework mods like content patcher
has anyone used Stardew Furniture mod? I've installed it but doesn't seem to appear in the game (I've checked Robin's shop, item spawner and furniture catalog)
for some reason some of the JA machines and added artisan goods are dependent on pytk

im just unable to install cburgers portrait mods for some reason,
i was using it fine months ago, then i started a new game full vanila but ive decided to use mods again
but for some reason i just cant install cburgers portraits i dont think ive had this amount of difficulty the last time i installed it.
for references, yes smapi is installed. pytk, content patcher and portraiture are also installed with the latest files but the final part of adding the portraits themselves just doesnt work
'better chests' mod is for chests mod. as for bigger backpack, there is bigger backpack, then backpack resizer

well i kinda somehow fixed it i guess,
i manged to keep an old zip of the mods ive installed and just copy pasted the ones relevant and that managed to work
ok.. So.. WoL's skill reset worked perfectly fine yesterday.
But now whenever I want to reset Farming (second reset) and Mining (first reset) the game ctd's right after going to bed. Ignore Convenient chests, I thought I deleted the mod but apparently I didn't lol

No. I have that one installed since ages. And it never caused issues with wol or any other mod.
And the previous save games had no issues with reseting. And this save not until today
well WoL is currently at version 5.0.4. For the SSL problem causing issues for SMAPI not being able to connect. I'm not sure. I assuming your *ubuntu updates are up to date?
They are.
For that SSL problem it could be SMAPI but it could also be a general tech support issue and it's just appearing in this instance. Are you behind a vpn/firewall?

Reset the price settings and only reset farming before heading to bed and it worked. Reseting Mining afterwards as well

Having trouble getting smapi to launch the game, i'm not really sure what changed because i had stuff like ridgeside, east scrap, and the aquarium mods just the other day and it was loading in fine, and now i cant even get it to launch without those mods, the vanilla game is now even taking a bit to launch tho it does after about 10 minutes

No, there's a partial converter but it produces issues in the final result
It's in the same repo as JA and DGA if you're interested in reading the code

The exact issues the PPJA conversions have
so like, does it make too many issues to the point where its easier to just do it myself
- recipes are sold wrong
- MFM letters are broken
- A few misc crop issues
Depends on the size of the mod you're converting
For example, PPJA might still be worth it as it's massive, but it needs a heavy pass by a human at the moment
Something with 5-10 items I might convert by hand, personally
i mainly want to transfer all my ja crop mods into dga mods
most of the mods are small, like 5-10 crops anyway
its just that theres a lot of separate mods which is why i wanna use a converter

Unfortunately I think the converter requires heavy code knowledge to use, or at least I personally have no idea how to use it
profiler stuff loaded in fine, looks like everything is fine, still in the same boat tho where it gets to alternative textures/fashion sense and then kinda just gets stuck there
It wouldn't be horribly difficult to write a converter in python or something if you're only focused on crops

Some NPC's do show it, others don't, I'm unsure why..

Hi! I am trying to download the stardew valley expanded mod for me and a family member to play - but when I launch the modded version of the game, it says it's only running 3 mods (savebackup, errorhandler, consolecommands) even though I downloaded everything on the list. I am lost and kinda nervous about asking for help, but do any of you know what I could be doing wrong?
How are you installing the mod?
From nexusmods, and I followed the list they gave me

I did attempt to uninstall and reinstall all of them to see if that would help since the first time they said there were errors, but now they won't even pop up
To install them, you need to make sure you are unzipping the file into the Stardew Valley/Mods folder
probably not unzipped
If you want a slightly easier way, you can try out stardrop which will place the mod in the right place for you

I attempted to, and I watched some tutorials but I tend to get stressed and overwhelmed easily when it comes to guides so I most likely missed something

do you have a bunch of mods that also add a bunch of new items? I've noticed that the more items I have, the more...haywire Gift Taste Helper gets. It's a bit outdated so it doesn't seem to correctly shift the gift taste hover box (idk what else to call it lol). I find that it works a little better hovering over the calendar than the relationships tab but you seem to be having the opposite issue so it might be random. It's unfortunate b/c it's still my favorite mod to use for seeing gift tastes, but I have to use it in conjunction with other stuff now xD
I'm just using SVE at the moment. I think I'll just stick to the NPC tab of showing their gifts etc.
might also be due to how certain NPCs spawn themselves into the game.

You can use Lookup Anything for gift tastes
Warning: if you have Raffadax it lowkey dies trying to do 4000 lookups of gift tastes

lol yeah the two I use in conjunction w/GTH are Lookup Anything as well as that one where loved gifts appear in a bubble above the villagers heads.
I usually just want to know loved gifts anyways, which is the only part I actually got to load haha so I just go off that
I like the visuals so the bubbles are helpful but obviously if I don't have the item on hand, I need GTH or Lookup lol
and hated gifts for NPCs I despise

gifts in general don't make much sense in SV. Marnie asks you for some Amaranth for a quest as it's useful to her... then you give it to her normally and she doesn't like it.

I have like 47 but before you say thats because I have lots of mods some time ago when I was playing SV I had the same mods and the same amount and It worked fine but now when I try to launch my smapi it's so slow and finally when I load my SV I go to "LOAD" it takes some time and then it says not responding after some time my worlds show up but if I click on one of them t just turns into "Loading" and not responding.

Make sure you download the newest version. The version you have installed is 3.13 from months ago. 3.15 is the current version.

nexus has a template mod to replace all the scarecrows with limited EditImage patches, it should work with the xnb files

unfortunately there isnt many solutions for oom other than uninstall some retextures or restart your game often enough to not run out of memory

What do you mean by this? You should be able to just uninstall most mods (just make sure that your players also do this if they're c# mods)

oh yeah, you really shouldnt open modded games in vanilla stardew, that can easily corrupt your save and cause permanent damage unfortunately

Depending on what type of mods you have, you might not be able to revert to vanilla stardew
If you only have SMAPI mods, you can play unmodded SDV by just running the original game exe.

I have 19 mods for stardew valley expanded
It took 26 minutes for the game to start
57 minutes to load after finishing character creation
And now i left my house and the screens gone black and theres no music, there was both othertimes i was waiting

So I'm trying to fill up East Scarp with NPCs because it feels very empty. However, it seems like all the NPC mods available are either incomplete, not updated to work, or require PYTK (which I heard I should avoid). Is this a correct assessment of the current state of ES?
The es beta npcs I'd say are good "fillers" as of now. They have events and work, they aren't gonna break your game. The only npcs that require pytk is the nexus version of ARV afaik (i havent tested nagito yet)
They are still loveable npcs, they just dont have as many events a vanilla npc would

Yeah it was running the normal but I didnt try it out that much, the modded version started working too but it suddenly closed when I went down towards what I think is the vineyard, pressing cntrl shift T isnt working to recover the tab either

Alright, I believe I got it
I tried going thru the links steps but when I searched in my files for stardew valley.exe it didnt come up with anything?
searching may not bring it up, check the guide to see how to find the game files
There are 5 npcs in the base core mod and some of the "in progress" ones have more development to them than existing released NPCs.
Also there is nothing wrong with pytk.
A bunch of the NPCs that exist also only TMX for the spouse room I think
Beatrice has been fully converted too but it's in the ES code since I cant edit the actual mod (requires the CP portion of original Beatrice, dont install the TMX portion)
(Most of the beta ones are just missing events)
Besides the general load of a lot of mods, does anyone know what typically causes dialogue to lag( like when clicking on the box to move to next sentence) for all NPCS modded or not
is it like sprite change mods/ seasonal tings/ dialgoue expansions

I think I would backup your mods, uninstall the game. Make sure your stardew folder is empty once it's uninstalled.. and reinstall, reinstall smapi/place back your mods.

I'm giving up on getting stardew progress to work on this current save and am going to start a new one. I added PPJA mods back and am still getting that 666 error. In the event the stardew progress creator wants to investigate - what files should I save besides the mod folder and the main save file? should I just put the modfolder and the save folder in a single archive?

Hi all, I posted yesterday, but got no replies, so just trying again today. My game keeps suffering a massive crash and I get a wall of red text. I thought it was something to do with Solid Foundations, as I could see that mod name in the error, but rolling back to the previous version I had successfully played with didn't fix it, and the game crashed again, with the exact same error. No, I only updated Solid Foundations and Smart Building before the crash happened. And as I said, rolling back to the previous version of Solid Foundations (which I'd played with and had no errors) didn't stop it from crashing again
Can you try uninstalling the SF content pack to see if that helps? Just in case
Smart Building doesn't add any buildings, or change existing buildings, it's just a faster way to lay paths, put fences down etc.

I feel like it has to be something recent, as I played just 2 days ago, with no issues whatsoever, including going into my animal area. I haven't added any mods that change farm buildings, any additional animals, the custom farm mod hasn't been updated....it just seems so random

I checked Trace and the thing right before wall of red is SF, but I'm still not sure whether or not that means SF is the cause

If you remove sf the problem should vanish if it's sf

Yeah, all sf buildings are saved separately
It's why JA currently can't deshuffle in sf buildings (I need to fix that)
the only one I have is Fippsies Birdhouse and while that's in the very, very general area of my animals, it's still at least a full screen down from there where my game crashes - the building isn't even visible/loaded
I'm just confused as to why I can play without it crashing if I'm anywhere else on the map, if it's an issue with a mod/building that's already loaded from my save

yeah it's the right one, i was away for a bit. but okay, Duplicate object: Watermelon from BS's New Watermelons will not be added, already added by Fruits and Veggies for JsonAssets! this mod conflict seems to be causing some problems, so one of the mods should probably be removed. then Less Ugly Town Interiors and SVE are incompatible for some parts at least, not sure if that causes any real problems though. the error handler mod comes from smapi install so you can reinstall it
the error handler is good to have and might let you even load the game now, but the duplicate object should be fixed anyway

the smapi installer installs it to the Mods folder automatically when you install smapi

hm, i'm not sure how stardrop works, you might need to enable the error handler from it or something. but it should come from smapi (re)install yes
the error handler is a normal mod so i'd guess stardrop works with it like it does with other mods

yes, says so on both mod pages. and i have all related mods like walk of life and BAGI itself

Hey everyone, I just wanted to raise awareness that this particular youtube channel is creating "modpacks" and redistributing mods without any of the authors consent or credits. There was one video where I saw Gwen and other mod authors respond in the comments but by the looks of it they've completely ignored any demand that the mods be removed from their "modpack".
Please do not download this so-called "modpack" (don't know if the file is even safe) or promote/encourage this type of behavior.
I don't really know what people can do really, but given the videos don't have too much views it can go under the radar.

@dire fractal Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

ok so... For some reason when I started SDV today some of my fruit trees are just black squares. I haven't done anything else since the last IC day where it didn't happen. From the trees planted it happens mostly on the vanilla trees (plus two others so far)

Hi All...new to this Discord...i couldn't find an answer to this so i'm REALLY hoping someone can help me out....i have installed a few animal mods...ofc, they are requiring "Paritee's Better Farm Animal Variety" which i understand to be "broken"...therefore, i installed the "unofficial BFAV" by kelvinrose-mouseypounds-elbe...found in smapi.io....however, i still don't have any new animals...and in the smapi loading screen...it says none will work because i don't have Paritee's...is this true? or is there another fix?
I just removed that out of curiosity and the trees are normal again

My problem is that some time ago when I was playing I had no problem at all game worked perfectly fine! But now whenever I want to launch SV/SMAPI it just loads so slow and crashses.
(I dont play on steam)
Loading time:
SMAPI: About 20 min
SV: 5 min
Slow loading isn't the only problem. When SV/SMAPI finally loads the game main menu, whenever I click on any button it says (Not Responding) After some time it loads my worlds but if I click on one of them It's not responding again!!!

In total I have about 45 mods! BUT before you say It's because I have lots of mods I had the same mods and the same amount of them when game worked fine!

Stardew Valley does not launch, by that I mean that I click the play button but it does not open at all, sometimes for a split second, but then it dissapears.
I found a fix to this using the compability version of the game, I used that fix for a long time, but now I really want to start modding the game to improve my
experience and explore all the nooks an crannies.
I have Windows 10, 64 bit version. and Stardew Valley's normal version has ran on the pc before. I would be incredibly grateful for anyone able to fix this issue, I'll try anything, I love this game and I don't want to get bored of it so fast.

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

.NET 5 itself should run fine on that system
I'm not sure why the GPU driver would care much about what versions of .NET are installed
You could certainly try installing the .NET5 runtime though you shouldn't need to.
(note that they didn't switch to .NET Framework, they switched to .NET 5)

IIRC, the HD2000 driver for Windows 10 never worked quite right though
As I tried to download NET5 it said that my processor does not support the download, so I guess my only option is to revert to 1.5.4 afterall, I'm really grateful for the help though

the compabillity states that it's for versions of windows under windows 10, so I'd probbably require to use compabillity either way for that

I have verfied my files i checked smapi i don't see any errors i deleted the other mods yet nothing changed and it crashes mid game
I don't see a crash in that log. I see where there's a couple errors, one about a file that cant be found and another about two mods wanting to edit the same file.

Hi All...new to this Discord...i couldn't find an answer to this so i'm REALLY hoping someone can help me out....i have installed a few animal mods...ofc, they are requiring "Paritee's Better Farm Animal Variety" which i understand to be "broken"...therefore, i installed the "unofficial BFAV" by kelvinrose-mouseypounds-elbe...found in smapi.io....however, i still don't have any new animals...and in the smapi loading screen...it says none will work because i don't have Paritee's...is this true? or is there another fix?

Not easily. I would try the mod atra suggested first. If that doesn't work, the only other way, is by manually removing mods and testing

@ornate tide so just an update I remember that I played multiplayer with my boyfriend however we had different mods and his computer was being slow and once I joined it crossed the whole game could that be why all the stuff is happening

Ah sorry, its removing multiple mods at once and then testing if you crash or not. You keep removing mods until you no longer crash

Yes on the new saved game. On the old one it runs very smooth and well and within a blink of an eye it just crashes and x out the game

and in either case i looked there because i made mead with a flower honey and it came out normal mead
IIRC, they are just the vanilla Mead objects, with the parent sheet index set to the flower.

I tested it out just now, I think it's QoL. It does things to tweak the quality of the product, so maybe it's overriding the things More Meads is doing.
