Yes I agree! I normally spam the strong crops for the first few years and then switch to an aesthetic design. I always try to give love to all crops (and my || ginger farm || is currently full with Starfruits

My blueprint farm, what I base my farms off of and go to whenever I get a "I need to decorate something now" itch, just added some trees.
(Like I said blueprint farm, this one isn't legit as you can tell from the shrine, but it's how I design my farms.)

Or at least I try to base my farms off of it. Sometimes while playing I go "wait this different thing feels better" and I go back and change some things.

||I always do large crops in year 2, with only about 150 crops below the farmhouse before that. I do the community center year 1 so I have ginger island by then and have no need for the normal farm space. Fruit trees are in the greenhouse, and normal trees in the desert.||

This is my maximized bee farm. Takes up a lot of space though, but every bee hive reaches a flower and you can't grab the flowers either. Just make sure to use a speed grow fertilizer. You get 55 jars of honey. You could do 56, but I like having an always open entrance

I have coops and barns to the right of the main house, crops towards the bottom of the house, fish ponds towards the bottom right.

I'm trying to explain the early game since the only pictures I take of my farm are in either endgame or creative. 🙃

I don't plant many crops year 1, but there's just enough space for me.
I use ||Ginger Island|| year 2 when I do any large amount of crops.

This is my current plan for my Four Corners farm. I haven't fully finished it on my game so I don't have an in-game screenshot currently, but I've tried to balance efficiency with "cute", giving myself little pockets to play with for decorating.

Red circles are decorated with trees, grass, and flowers mixed in. While the blue areas are being designed as various little cubbies for tables and chairs and casks and kegs.

I'm excited to get it finished and post the final product at some point.

Yes and no... I haven't tried to use it to put kegs in, it's just for decorative purposes, and a few of the skins for it don't work at all, however it works well enough for me

Looks ok enough, just has a lot of stuff lying around. I usually set chests inside house and preserves jars in a shed. They look cluttered outside.
But just keep trying stuff. Break it down if it's ugly.

Adding trees (or seasonal plants, like above poster says) around paths goes a long way in making it prettier imo
