The reason it's there is for locations where you can/can't plant crops. Turning it off will let you place anywhere on the planner including places you can't put things in the game.

Yep, i recommend just searching youtube for farm tours, it could be any farms like a standard or forest, even four corners, as long as it looks phenomenal its going to give you inspirations in different ways. You then just go build, change it up if you dont like it

The idea of using the mushroom planter as fences and highlights is brilliant, but it feels kinda jarring in some areas, like that park/overgrown garden area near the main enterance, or the area around the greenhouse, as the red dosent really clash well with the blue

Also, the pigs at the bottom won’t get truffles because of the paths around them

Maybe my opinion will change in other seasons as it changes every season but for now that’s my opinion

Before I go with my catalogue, I choose what theme I will do for each room. And then,when I wake up, I just collect milk, mayonnaise... And sell it (2 hours max) and then I go decorating for the rest of the day, sometimes it takes me 2-3 days to complete 1 room

Autograbbers and Junimo huts for keeping up with collecting things, and then the Automate mod to keep looping processor use (and help with collecting stuff). If you go Ancient Fruit Greenhouse route you only need to harvest once a week, and you'll get the same profit whether you ship stuff every day or once a year.

Next-level time saving: the Fast Petting and Deluxe Grabber mods; IIRC these are not on Nexus but you can find them by following the links in the posts on the Nexus pages for the now-defunct Huggable Scarecrows and Deluxe Autograbber mods. I use Deluxe Grabbers as substitute Junimo huts off the farm (especially in Stardew Valley Expanded which gives you QUITE a few remote farming locations), and usually cave and enable the global forage option as well.

Ultimate time saving: CJB Cheats and CJB Item Spawner. These allow you to 1. stop time with a keypress, 2. create any item you want instantly.

All of these cheats are so powerful they can suck the fun right out of the game, so use with caution, especially CJB Cheats.

Purely for decorating purposes I do really like the CJB Item Spawner as a better, more mobile version of the catalogues, which allows more spontaneous creativity.

Pathways are inconsistent width and it makes it look odd, as well as takes up a lot of real estate for crops. I'd recommend rearranging your buildings so they're close to the edges of the map (greenhouse could be further right, barn is good, shed and coop should be somewhere closer to the borders). Then you have more room for farming and the pathways will naturally look better

Also I believe you're setting up a tree farm in the bottom right corner? But the planned space takes up a lot of real estate that is incongruent with the profit you'll be getting from the stuff the trees produce. Plant trees as close together as possible so you can use less space and make more room for farmland

What are the best fish to have?-

for pure profit? lava eel is first, followed by blobfish
but personally the gold/day of pools is rather low so i prefer to have pools for useful items

ie if you have a midnight squid pool, a flounder pool, and a midnight carp pool, you can craft a seafoam pudding every day for +4 fishing

W.I.P *modded *farmhouse, only got my hands on the catalogue yesterday so some areas are still crude. Any tips on lighting would be appreciated, I'm using torches behind objects at the moment but I'm not a fan of how the light is really localised, it's really obvious there's a torch there:

The furniture catalogue has a few really nice lamps. Like the box lamp you have in the lower room. I always use those for my house

Behind the bear statue you can use wood lamp post, the bear will hide it pretty well (put it behind the bear, left side). As for the middle room, prolly replace the green stool with country lamp or candle lamp. I think either lamp goes quite well with your decor in that room.

The quartz/crystal version of cobblestone always looks nice and turns blue in winter

The quartz/crystal tile is a light purplish gray all the time, not very white but maybe as close as you will get

Other wintery things: candy cane decorations from night market, pine trees, multiple pine tree furniture items which can be placed outdoors in 1.5 including a decorated "tree of the winter star".

Also all the seasonal decorations have a winter morph in winter

But that's not as helpful for a year-round winter vibe.
