I just did this last night. Start coop game, choose your solo save and then when game starts go to settings and choose. Local coop split screen. You then make a new character and play both characters. New character takes control of a cabin and upgrades it. Need both characters online for that. Do this again twice more to upgrade all cabins to max.

Finally finished my workshop shed. At least, I think I'm done. It doesn't spark as much joy as my cabin workshop, but I do like it and I can't really think of anything to change or add. Marked as spoiler for 1.5 items and decor. ||That empty space across from the work bench is for the farm computer thing - provided it's not too bulky. Or that it can even go inside in the first place, idk I haven't gotten it yet. If not I'll probably just put a table and the dwarf gadget artifact to make a fake farm computer, and stick the real one outside||

I make the farm plan, save it to my computer, then email it to myself and save it on my phone.

I have a bit more method to make it easier on myself, but it's just a me thing. So, when I'm planning the farm, instead of putting down trees I put one tile of crystal path down where I want the tree to go. Then I put trees on top of the tiles just to see if it looks okay in the render, and then I take the trees away to save the plan as a picture. I do that because the tree icons on the planner are kinda bulky, and blocks whatever's around it, so I can more easily count the fences and path and stuff when I'm replicating it.

When I'm playing, I turn on the "show hit tool location", then just look at the pic on my phone and count the tiles. I start with paths and fences, just counting the number of posts and stuff, and then when you got that down it's easy to put the rest

Eh, some people don't bother with grass and just feed their animals hay all year. I think the mood bonus still applies if you let them out, but they don't find food.

Assuming botanist, a barn full of pigs would pay for its hay for a year with 54~ truffles. That's 2-3 days of truffles, maybe more if you haven't maxed happiness. If you don't want to spend time managing grass, that isn't a huge cost.

Before I swapped them out for kegs that shed used to have furnaces in their place, just single rows though and not to the walls. I also had charcoal kilns in the spot of the strawberry preserves jars, and the whole top right section of the shed just had an assortment of machines before I made my workshop, and a little sitting area where I pretended the table was a work bench / desk. It worked nicely until I decided to stick 'em in the cellar
